Well I thought I would pop in to a nice sociable company. But with all that's going on I think I am on the wrong thread lol lol

Ann, We never have it off, as we don't have a duvet ;-) ;-) ;-) And don't forget to get some stamps in for your cards and mail. Good job you haden't addressed the "OTHER" to Mandy. What a surprise she would have had.

Ros has almost finished going round the throw with the gold thread, that wouldn't go through the sewing machine. She should have the edging on tomorrow, and it will all be finished. I don't think after all this work, that we dare put it on the bed. !!

The dinner was a great hit, even though I didn't eat much. I am now being told off for not eating. All I have had today was my evening meal. I might do myself "A BIG BREAKFAST" tomorrow morning.

Gill it sounds like you have trapped a nerve in your arm. If you are tall enough try hanging from a door frame, it just might do the trick. If not it will hurt !!!! even more.

Anne I hope you are feeling a little better this evening.

I have just heard the forecast for the South West and the Midlands. Imogen will have winds of up to 80 mph in thr S.W. and heavy rain. So batten down the hatches Mel.

I'm off to beddy byes now, see you in the morning.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Feb 2016 23:22

WEll its certainly blowing a heck of a gale out there. I hope we don't get any trees down.

Saying night night now and battening down the hatches.

Oh you are funny Ann, it sounds like you have fun with your OH and both have great sense of humour's :-D :-D

I was reading your post Frank the bit about me hanging from a door frame and OH couldn't stop laughing. I think you might be right and it's a trapped nerve, it's very painful. OH said the same thing. I was a bit worried at first when I started to get pins and needles in my left arm as I know that can be a sign of heart trouble, but I didn't get any chest pains so didn't bother OH at work. It's just getting on my nerves a bit now. I've been taking painkillers all day and have used a hot water bottle which seems to help a bit. Hope it doesn't keep me awake all night.

Signing out now, hope the weather isn't to bad for everyone. It's very calm here we just had a bit of rain earlier but apart from that, nothing........Hope I haven't spoken to soon :-S :-S

Night Night
See you all tomorrow

Morning all and evening Kim,

From a very wet and still very windy West Country hi we survived the night. It is still howling outside and not nice at all.

Oh said he is not putting the bin out because they would just blow away as there is always more wind up the top than within the walls down here.

Hope your arms a bit better this morning Gill. It sounds to me like a visit to the docs would be in order.

Annx Report 8 Feb 2016 10:42

Morning All,

Yes Mel and there was me just meaning in all innocence that I didn't have the spare duvet cover off that often as it isn't often needed. :-) Mandy he was still smiling this morning at the thought of me sticking my 'results' in your card envelope by accident!!!!!

It's windy and raining here this morning and these tall wheelie bins do blow over easily don't they, especially after they are emptied. We often have to move them so we can drive up our drive. I went for my thyroid blood test this morning and stopped on the way back to photograph the flooded fields and park just down the hill from here. A cute little white dog with it's coat on was looking perplexed at all the water where it could udsually run about. The grass was quite long and then I saw it do something I have never seen a dog do before. It went to squat to wee, but obviously didn't like the long wet grass so it stood on it's front paws and raised it's rear end into an almost handstand to do it! lol.

Gill are you hanging on the door frames like a bat yet?? I hope your arm feels a bit better today, it must feel very uncomfortable.

We are using vouchers at the carvery just down the road today. There's hardly anyone there on Mondays so we can sit in a corner by the window.

The nurse told OH that there was no change with FIL and his chest is still noisy. They have taken him off oxygen now because he wasn't coping well with it, but having seen how restless he was yesterday and wanting to go for a walk and get out of bed, OH thinks he may have been trying to remove the mask and tubes. He was thinking he was in a garage yesterday and that he and OH had a house in the country and lived together!! OH said he looked quite grey and noticed how thin he's become, yet he still eats well and was still cheerful and chatty. OH is going to try and find out what the hospital intend to do next. We don't know whether we need to start looking at nursing homes etc. There is never anyone around to ask things though.

The throw sounds far too good to use Frank!! She will have to save it for 'best'.!!! My purse is FULL of stamps now! lol

Well I'd better go and get ready to brave this weather again!!

Meant to say the two deer came in the garden earlier and are now laying down under the west wall by the big conifer. They are sheltered there from the gale.

Annx

Annx Report 8 Feb 2016 11:24

The deer seem to come in your garden more lately Mel. They must be feeling safe there. How is your OH's knee now?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 Feb 2016 11:46

Much better now thank you Ann. He is walking around like normal now. I don't say anything as the limp may come back if I did.

I nearly got blown away when I went to let the chickens out this morning. I fed them in theri house so they would'nt get blown away. One was in the nest box but I was'nt waiting to see if I had an egg. It should still be there when I go round to give them their corn later on if the whole house has'nt been blown away.

Did everyone see War and Peace last night?? It was the last episode.

Here I am ;-) ;-) ;-)

Morning all you wind blown people, Evening Kim,

Yes Mel we are having a rough time here as well, Very high winds 50 mph and lashing with rain at the moment.

After I went to bed last night Ros heard a tremendous BANG. She thought there had been an explosion. The lights went out and came back on. I said I think it could be an electric fault somewhere.

Mel and Ann, have been having a good old natter this morning without us. !!

I had my big breakfast this morning. Two eggs, two rashers two sausages, two slices of toast and a load of fried tomato's that needed using up. A nice BIG COT to wash it all down.

The sewing machine has just started up, so "Mrs. industrial" is set for the day. I think the throw is about finished. The thing is now, where to I put it to take a photo. If it was dry I could hang it on the line !! ;-) ;-) ;-)

I have got the "SHAKES" again this morning. I thought I was going to faint in the shower. I managed to get out and sit on the toilet, wrap a towel round me and get into the lounge to sit down. This has been happening a lot lately. Ros put it down to me not eating a breakfast, and lunch. But I am not so sure.

I trust everyone is well and able to stand up in this wind. We won't be going anywhere today.

Anne

Anne Report 8 Feb 2016 12:31

Hello Everyone

It's windy and raining hard here today as well but not as much in some places my S.I.L rang this morning she lives in Leominster and it is really bad there, the carers that come in for her son said at lot of the roads were flooded.

I have to go to the vets this afternoon and pay for Timmy's treatment and hand in the Pet Plan claim form :-( :-(.

Frank could your dizzy turns be something to do with your blood sugar, I get these if I haven't eaten for a while.

I am just going to check my wheelie bin hasn't been blown over as I heard a crash, they have only just emptied it

Frank

Frank Report 8 Feb 2016 14:31

Anne, I have had this feeling all morning. I have just prepared the veg for tonights dinner, and got myself a "COKE" from the fridge to give my sugars a boost. Hope it works.

Still blowing and raining here. when will it come to an end. ???

Just started another book. Martina Cole again. These hardbacks were £18.99 each new, and as I said Ros got them for 30 pence each. When I am finished with them she wil take them back to the Charity Shop. She did give the chap £1.00 each for the books as she thought they were worth it !!!

Frank

Frank Report 8 Feb 2016 15:36

Photo's on the way. One a lily that has been in bloom for a few days, and the throw/cover that Ros has just finished and put her name and date on it. It's now on the bed, so will see if it's going to be warm enough. ;-) ;-) It had better be, after all this work.

Dinner already now. Beef in onions and gravy with cut up potato's over the top. They will go nice and crispy on top. Carrots and Sweetheart cabbage.

Where's our other girls today. ??

Ros has just bought in a COT, so will sign off.

Afternoon all

Windy here , we've had a few showers ,one just as the children came out of school.

Well i had a little flat package come this morning :-0 i opened it very carefully just in case it was from Ann :-D inside was ........a T Bag !!! :-D it was from the Yorkshire tea company sent for my birthday LOL

We have a blocked loo ,hubby's van won't start ( it was the battery ) so that's on charge and the grill on my oven has gone !! that's three things so hope there won't be any thing else !!
The loo problem is because the sewer was linked up to the old peoples places next door when they were built and every so often they block, hubby has cleared it and can clear it but why should we keep clearing them when it's their problem !! they back fill and it's always our loo that blocks .
They should come tomorrow to sort it out .
The chap who does repairs on cookers has got a full answering machine ,so hubby's not sure if he will get the message ,but i'am not so bothered about the grill being out of action as i don't use it that much.

Now i see i'am having problems with my emails !! so i'll have to get son to look at that for me and i was looking forward to seeing the bed cover that Ros has made.
The books were a bargain Frank .

Frank Report 8 Feb 2016 17:09

Oh Mandy, That's all you need. As you say THREE THINGS today.

It's just not on that your Oh should be clearing the blocked toilet, if it's caused by the Nursing Home. I would have words with them if I were you or OH. :-P :-P :-P

I know it's 5.00 pm. But it is so dark and horrible out there. We have been trying to contact Jan by Skype all day to see if they are O.K. But as yet no joy. We will have to ring her on her Mobile as they don't have a land line.

How's things with you Mel ??

How's the arm today Gill,??

How is everybody else ??

Hello All
What a day :-P.Wind and rain .Frank at least we are lucky that we haven't got it as bad as poor Mel and her Chooks.
Are they all safe Mel?I do hope so.How about your leccy.Hope that hasn't been knocked out.

Frank.I just got the pic of the Amaryllis !! but not the bedcover. What a lovely plant.Mine is still waiting to flower. It's almost there :-D..The stem is sooooo long though.

Oh dear Mandy ,blocked loos and a broken grill and OH's van not starting.Good day then ;-).....I can just imagine you gingerly opening that suspect envelope LOL.How nice to get a TBag :-D
I remember once before you having the blocked toilet. You are right ,it should be you having to sort out the problem when it is not you causing the blockages.

Anne I hope you weren't too upset at having to go back to the Vets today to pay the bill.Poor Timmy.I just wonder what it was that caused him to become so ill and so quickly.

I too had to laugh at the thought of you Gill taking up Franks suggestion and hanging onto the top of the door frame LOLOL
It does sound like a trapped nerve that is causing those pins and needles. It could be a nerve in your neck.Hope is it much easier today.Although from past experience I know any nerve thing can take while to clear.

I had a rotten nights sleep last night. So have felt wishy washy all day.The furthest I have been is to the window feeder.

Plumber booked again tomorrow 12-6 for the tap .It would be nice if it is the same man ,but I doubt it will be.

I have finally just managed to shove Thomas out the back door as the rian has stopped for now ,but he looked a real scaredy cat with all the wind blowing. He was ready to run back in but as he has been sleeping nearly all day I thought he needed to get out to stretch his fluffy legs.

Chris watched the last of War and Peace last night and said it was very good.I only watched the first couple of episodes.

Dinner in the oven now.One big tray of Chicken pieces, and Chorizo and red Pepper roast potatoes..There is some chilli in it as i can feel my lips tingling even though I haven't tasted it :-S.I think I'll just do Broccoli with it.
