Frank i didn't get the photo of the bed cover either ,the Amaryllis is lovely ,mine didn't get very tall but it has got two stalks and has three red flowers on one stalk and four flowers on the other ,my other plant didn't have big flowers on that either but did have five flowers on one stalk and four on the other . DIL's flower was so big and heavy it bent over and snapped off !! she has it in a vase now .
Jane was it your hip playing up that kept you awake last night ?
The wind has got to our fence panels behind the shed ,they are now on the lean !! We were only saying the other day that we would replace them this summer , four panels and posts.

Oh dear what a windy day and so much rain!! We nearly got blown away on both our walks, but Cas loved it!! Oh yes Jane, War and Peace was excellent, the last scene was slightly soppy, not like the book, where the end is far less happy. I saw the film in 1956 (!) When I was at school, Mel Frerrar was Andre, Audrey Hepburn was Natasha and Henry Fonda was Pierre. I was 13 and spellbound!! Anthony Hopkins was Pierre in the 1972 version, equally fantastic! Michael Portillo on at the moment on his American train journey, it's really interesting and he's such a good commentator.

Frank I have read a lot of Martina Cole books, and enjoyed them all.
I see more men are going for cosmetic surgery these days.....What would you go for Frank if you were to have something done? (not that you need to of course :-D) If I was to having anything done it would be to lift my eyelids which are now drooping :-S.But I am too much of a wus .Plus it would no doubt cost thousands.Maybe just letting nature take its course is the right way.I do think some women look ridiculous with their plumped up lips and face lifts etc. They look pretty scary and weird.Grow old gracefully I think ,even if it is not the look you really want :-D
Ann,any more news on FIL today? I have the feeling he may be fading now.Does the home he is in not do Nursing Care?He does sound quite weak and frail now :-(
I just saw a photo on Facebook of my Nephew and his Girlfriend at the Rio de Janeiro festival..It was a wonderful pic.I have tried to share it ,but it's not possible.Matthew will be back home in 2 weeks after 6months travelling around S America. My Sister can't wait to see him again. She has been counting the days down now for weeks lol.

That's good then Mel that the Chooks are all safe and sound :-D
No it wasn't my hip Mandy that kept me awake.I just got up for the loo and then couldn't get back off again.I was reading my kindle at 4am then dozed on and off. Half expecting to be woken by Thomas. He arrived at 5.30 so up I got then to give him breakfast and let him out.Got back to bed and was wide awake.Chris brought me a cup of tea at 6.30 as he was up early to take James's car in for MOT.But the tea was cold when I went to drink it.Must have dropped off.So just a broken nights sleep really.
Frank, got the pic now :-D..It is beautiful !!!!!.What a lot of work Ros has put in to make that bedcover.

Hi all
I got the pic of the cover, isn't Ros clever Frank, looks like there was a lot of work involved. How long did it take her to do?
Hope you are okay Anne after going to the vets.
Sorry to hear you've had so many problems today Mandy, I don't blame your OH for not clearing the drains when it's not his fault. Hope it's sorted soon and that the cooker people get the message so that can be fixed too
Your story of the dog Ann was funny, did you manage to get a pic, I'd love to see it if you did? Hope things improve a bit for FIL and he's back home soon. Do you think he might have to move to another home? Is the home he's at not suitable anymore?
Hope you're feeling a little better now Frank. A drink of Coke should do the trick to raise your sugar levels.
I'm having problems typing as my arm is still very sore. I've been taking anti-inflammatory tablets today which helped but then as I put my laptop on my knee to read the thread it slipped and without thinking I put my arm out to stop it......now I'm in even more pain. I'll have to try swinging from the door frame Frank, see if that helps.
The weather here wasn't to bad up to a couple of hours ago and then we had really heavy rain and it's very windy too.
Mum's been away to Torquay and said it was flooded there so the journey home wasn't to good. I do feel for the coach driver as he has now got to take the coach back to Anglesey.
Going to rest my arm now, I'll try and get back again later.

Oh I forgot to mention your post Ann on the dog doing a handstand to do a wee !!!! How funny was that .I have seen a clip on Youtube of a dog doing that and it was hilarious . Gill I am sure it will take a while for your arm to settle.Just try and take things easy with it for a while. The anti inflam tabs will help ,but also I would take Paracetamol also. I know you find it difficult doing nothing. But the more you use your arm at the moment might aggravate it.
Dinner is ready here now.Just waiting for the Broccoli.James is just in from work(late tonight)...He is booking flights tonight for his holiday to Helsinki in April. That is one place I wouldn't have thought about going to.

Glad the Photo got through this time.
Yes it took Ros a long time sewing all those patches together. The back (which I forgot to take a picture of) is in one piece. The quilting padding had to be put between the top and bottom. Then it all had to be sewn together. As I said I hope it will be warm enough.
Jane HOW DO YOU IMPROVE ON PERFECT ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D I agree with you grow old gracefully, I know Ros would have her eye lids down as well. But I think she will make do with what she has. !!
It must have been one great experience for your Nephew, travelling around S. America. What a woderful time he must have had. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Gill I hope your arm is starting to feel a bit better. If you can give it a days rest. You might find that's the answer.
I have een a dog do a pee like you mentioned Ann on T.V. It certainly makes you smile :-D :-D :-D
We are taking the car to an Alloy wheel refurbishment place tomorrow to see what it will cost to have the wheels done I recon it will be around £250.00 I wonder if it would be cheaper to buy a set of steel wheels, and a set of wheel trims. They won't damage as easy as alloys. I must admit that most of the damage was already there when we bought the car in 2007. I think I will look on ebay and see what I can find.
See you in the morning.

No photo Gill as the little dog performed the handstand so quickly. Your poor arm does sound painful.
Please thank Fitz for passing on the info about the Staffordshire Hoard in Birmingham Jane. :-) It is just my kind of thing and I see it is close to New St Station and we can get a train there from Narborough, the next village to us. OH is interested in going too as it's ages since we went to Birmingham. I bet Thomas hated the wind whistling up his trouser legs!!
We were both a bit disappointed with the last episode of War and Peace but the series was far better than either of us thought it would be. Of course OH will be reading it again now!
Still no quilt here Frank, but they do seem to take longer to come through since they messed with my emails. :-S Up to now today I have deleted 80 emails. :-S
FIL has improved and is still off oxygen so they are looking to discharge him in the next 2 days. How daft is it that they told OH that they need to get him up and walking tomorrow before he goes, when he can't walk anyway now?? :-S At least we know what is happening now. :-)
We had a call from the solicitors today to go and sign the contract for the house sale on Wednesday. :-D :-D :-D How great that will be as we've been worried about the roof tiles flying off with all this wind.

Don't know if Gill managed to send on the pic of the quilt but I have anyway.
Frank it is lovely colours and so much work gone into it. I can see how she needed a lot of space to get it sewn up.

I've emailed you the picture Ann, I wasn't sure who Mel had sent it too and didn't want you to miss out if Mel was talking about Mandy. You may end up getting it twice like Mandy did when Jane sent a copy as well as me :-D :-D :-D Hope it doesn't take to long to come through for you :-) Pleased to hear FIL is well enough to go back home shortly, although getting him to walk might not be as easy as they think from what you were saying. Hopefully he'll be home and settled soon. Good news about the house, now you don't need to worry with all the bad weather we've been getting lately <3
Shame you couldn't get a pic of the dog, but it was still a funny story and I'm still having a giggle every time I think about it.
Well, my arm is really sore now, so I'm calling it a night
See you all tomorrow

Morning all
Lovely and sunny here today with a slight breeze
My arm is feeling much better so far today, so I've just put some coloring on my hair. Luckily I'm right handed and it's my left arm that's been playing up. Once my hair is done I'm going to watch War and Peace. I haven't seen it yet.
What is everyone else up to today? Hope there wasn't any damage from the storm last night. It sounds like you all had it bad.

Not feeling particularly cheerful this am. If I'm honest I'm worried sick about OH. It's the waiting for the next blood test, and then the hospital bit that is getting to me. Apparently radio therapy can be five days a week for seven weeks!!!!! O H is taking it all very calmly and says to take things one step at a time and at least it's summer!!! Anyhow, my sub comes up in about 10days and I've decided not to renew. I'm not good company and I'm sure none of you want to be depressed! Much better day here so am taking Cas for a long walk!

Morning all and evening Kim,
We have sunshine too and the wind dropped last night. You should see the state of my windows! They are covered in salt spray and thats come at least 15 miles inland from Instow and Westward Ho.
Donkey day for me today. Oh always says he can have his girls in while I am out. Silly fool he could'nt handle GIRLS now whatever their age. Its a standing joke with us and sometimes if I come back from being out and Vron has been down I ask him if he enjoyed being with one of his GIRLS. He he he... He always say " One I have had loads down here".
Glad the arm is a little easier today Gill but you take care not to overdo it. DO YOU HEAR ME????
