Morning all, Evening Kim,
Well that cover has certainly been flying around th airways. I wonder how many miles that has travelled ???
Reasonable sort of morning here, still overcast but the wind has dropped right off.
Ros is at the Dr having a blood test, then we will be off to see about these bl##dy wheels, we had a right old barny about them last night. Ros seems to think they are going to explode, if we don't get them done. (how stupid is that ??) I need a haircut, so will get that done as well. I suppose there will be things from Tesco to get as well. If we have a bite to eat out today, I wonder if she will be O.K. with pancakes for tea ?? I am getting to the stage where I don't want to cook all the time, Ros has offered to take over the cooking, but I know how difficult it is for her to stand for any length of time.
Glad your arm is a little better today Guill. Keep trying to rest it.
I am sorry if I forgot anyone with my emails, I work from Kim and have a pattern that I follow ending up with Ruby.and then family.
Be good whatever you are doing today. !!!

I have PM'd you Liz
So you've got a busy day today then Frank? Best to get the wheels sorted, even if it's just to put Ros's mind at rest. I don't feel like cooking sometimes, so you're not on your own there, although Sandra has started doing some of the cooking as well as her chicken on a Sunday so that's a help. She asks lots of questions and I have to keep an eye on her but it's nice to have the help. Yes it looks like your photo is travelling well. I sent Mandy and Ann a copy of it as you'd missed them out, naughty boy ;-) ;-) ;-) So hopefully everyone's seen it now. Was the cover warm enough for you in the end?
Oh Mel you and your OH are funny, with the way you talk to each other. Shame about your windows, do you have a window cleaner, it sounds like you might need one with all the salt spray. We used to get that when we lived in Wales, but couldn't reach the top windows with it being three story's high, it's so much better now we live in a bungalow. Enjoy donkey day......not. At least the weather is better for it today. Hope you don't get anymore hailstones though.
Yes I'm taking it easy today Mel. OH spotted a bruise around my elbow so I must of knocked it somehow. The only thing I can think of is when I was up the ladders doing the filling. I lean on the ladders quite hard as I'm not good with heights. I have bruises on my legs but didn't realise I had one on my arm too, so hopefully it's just bruised and not a trapped nerve like I first thought. It does feel much better today, so maybe in a few days it'll be back to normal again :-) :-)

Good Morning everyone
Liz I do feel for you there is nothing worse than having to wait for results. Please don't leave this site as it helps to share with others how you feel and I certain no one on this thread would want that , radiotherapy has a good record for killing off cancer cells but it might not come to that.
I am slowly feeling more myself again, I was upset again yesterday when I rang to cancel Timmy's appointment and was asked if it was because he was better. I paid the vets bill it was just over £500 , thank goodness for pet plan.
Gill I'm pleased to hear your left arm is starting to feel easier and glad you are taking it easier now

Thank you Anne you are kind, the trouble is that I tend to go over it in my mind again and again, and of course get all the info I can on line and generally wind myself up!! I'm sure you understand?! My SIL said exactly what you have said, so I must think of that and not worry. Oh my goodness, what a bill you've had for poor Timmy, as you say thank goodness for insurance, but to have to cancel his appointment must have been so distressing, I am sorry. Even with our little girl I still miss my old Millie (dog) who we lost two years ago in March.

I think Anne's right, if it was something to worry about they would of called Ian in earlier, so please stop worrying Liz, easier said than done I know, but try your best <3 We're all here for you anytime you want to talk.
I'm pleased you are starting to feel a little better now Anne, it does take time, after all Timmy was part of your family. That's a lot of money, good job you had the pet plan isn't it?
I'm still taking it easy, but I'm really bored. I think it's because I'm used to being busy all the time. I thought I'd catch up with all my programmes I've recorded, that should pass the time.

Frank, I have looked at my e-mails today and just want to say how lovely Ros's quilt looks, I wish I had her talent and patience, the plant is very pretty. I must remember to get one next year.
The vet who saw Timmy has just telephoned me and it seems he had a virus which is quite common but it had mutated, she reassured me that I couldn't have done anymore than I did which I was worrying about as he had been off his food for a few days before he took a turn for the worse on Saturday. I asked her about my other two and she said a lot of cats have this in their systems without any side effects. The virus he had was F.I.P. - Feline Infectious Peritonitus which is always fatal and no treatment for it at the moment

Afternoon all,
Just back from our time out. The tyres were checked by a friend of Conrads. He had the wheels off and sprayed a soapy water rounf inside and outside on the tyres. All were good and no leaks. He advised us NOT to spend all that money on refurbishing them, as they only really "TARTED THEM UP" If we have anymore trouble, we are to take the car back.
Saw my lovely little Asha today, as I walked acros to the hairdressers she was waiting at the door for me. She gave me a cuddle and helped me to the chair. What a lovely girl she is <3 <3 <3. She tells me she now has a boy friend, So it looks like "MY GIRLFRIEND" has been spoken for :-( :-( :-(
We had lunch out, which was excellent. Ros had a steak with salad and chips. I had a Gammon with eggs and pineapple. Now ready for a few ZZZZ. after 3 pints of best bitter.
Liz, You know I/We are here for you at anytime. I enjoy your company, and would miss you if you decided to leave us. You know what they say "A trouble shared is a trouble halved" PLEASE reconsider.
What a beautiful day it turned out to be. Bright sunshine, BUT so cold in the wind. I tought I was a Iron Monkey lol lol It cut right through you. !!!
Anne that was one heck of a bill from the Vets !!! You certainly did all you could for Timmy.

Good morning to you all from nippy SC. It's going to be very cold all week, but we don't have the dreadful gales that you have. We very seldom have high winds - only when tornadoes are about :-(
I read all the posts but don't remember the content for very long. Such a sad time for Anne losing her kitty - I am so sorry. We have two dogs here at present - actually they are girls but I am hesitant to call them bitches. I may have told you, but son's little dog is blind and diabetic. She has insulin shots twice a day. My Lucy has some dementia and her legs are not too good. They both wander all day long - when they're not sleeping. They follow one another back and forth, down the hallway, around the living room and into the kitchen. Lucy will be 16 next month.
I loved the quilt Frank and the lovely jewel colours. I remember years ago trying to sew on my machine with gold thread and it kept breaking, and I needed an embroidery needle on the machine. It has a larger eye.
Liz, I am sorry you are both having such a worrying time. Worry can play havoc with you. I can clearly remember how it was when I was told that I had colon cancer. I had 18" of my colon removed, and that was in 2001, so it'll be 15 years come September. We don't hear much about those who have survived the disease, but it seems that the majority do. Anyway, prostrate cancer is one that has such a high survival rate, and perhaps it is not another cancer. Stay busy and don't dwell on it or you'll make yourself ill.
I enjoyed the stories of Hat and his travels :-D
My new home is almost ready - this should be the builders last day. They're finishing up fiddly things. The septic man has promised to be here this week to do his bit (extend one of the lines), so then it'll be inspection time and hopefully get moved in. I'll take pictures. I picked some daffodils yesterday after the men had gone, and put them in a glass jar and put them in one of the windowsills - they looked so pretty in the empty room.
I am off to the pool. Am going to try my hand at pancakes later today.

Afternoon All
Oh Liz ,please keep your subs up.I do understand that you will be worrying about what might be and what treatment might b needed for Ian..It might not come to having to have radio therapy. If you stay with GR,you can just pop in and out when you feel like it.You know we would miss you terribly like before.Plus you know that you will get lots of support from everyone here .Please stay. I can't believe it is almost 2 years since you lost Millie !! :-0..I would have thought just a year if someone asked me.
Anne .I am glad that you have found out what was wrong with Timmy, and also knowing that the other 2 cats are not at risk. There was obviously nothing you could have done for him.It is just very sad.
So your tyres are all good then Frank :-D..No big expense :-D I can't see you being able to stay out of that kitchen if Ros was to take over all Cooking Duties !!.You would be a pain in the backside LOL and she would soon hand it all back to you :-D.Maybe sharing is the best idea.Half a week each or something like that.
Mel,I am surprised that you have the salt on the windows from as far as Westward Ho! and with you being down in a bit of a dip there too.I have been at Wesward Ho! many times at high tide when I was young and Janice and I would love to try and dash away from the big wall there just as the waves broke over.
So Gill you have lots of bruises .Maybe that one on your arm is a deep one that has reached a nerve then causing those pins and needles. You sound like you must look like you have been in the wars lol
We have had a letter today from the Council telling us of a Planning application .This is what it says Proposal: Outline Application : Residential development for 60 dwellings with associated infrastructure and open space....(THIS IS THE BIT THAT WILL BOTHER US) Access created by demolition off number 44 (we are 46) !!!!!!!
Now we knew about the building of new housing behind us.But had no idea that next door might be knocked down for a road...We are hoping planning will be refused as there will be another access road just about 100yds further up the rd. We will definitely be objecting to this application!!!!!.
Chris is not a happy bunny about this ,plus he is not happy anyway as I kept him awake last night by tossing and turning all night ,then reading my kindle at 2.30am. I have a feeling I may well be in the spare bed again tonight. He is going to see Dads Army film tomorrow afternoon.I declined on that one. I think Fitz might pop up for a bite at lunch time. Ann I saw him earlier today and said that you might go and see the Staffordshire Hoard in Birmingham.
I have just realised it is now 2 weeks since my MRI and hip X-rays.So I will ring the surgery tomorrow to see if they have had the results.

Thing is I don't want to be a bore, but if you're really sure then of course I'll pay me subs and harass you all for a other year!! I'm not that keen to see the new Dad's Army. I love the original ones so much, I've seen the series so often and they never fail to make me laugh. I'm probably being prejudiced, but it could be like Faulty Towers without John Cleese or Emanuel!! It looks very black outside and its turned cold!! Oh dear Jane, fingers crossed that planning is refused. I don't think we're in danger here, but you can never be sure!

We have a clear sky and it does feel like it is getting a lot colder now.It was actually quite warm in the sunshine earlier .
No I just didn't fancy Dads Army Liz.I am sure it will still be quite funny but just not the same as the 'Old Team'... I am going to see the film ROOM with Fitz on the 23rd.I have read the book.It is the true story of a girl kept for 7 yrs in a room and abused .She had a baby boy who grew up knowing only that the world was that 'ROOM'....Chris doesn't want to see it. Then I think it is the next day on the 24th Chis and I are going ot see 'Spotlight '.
Just rang the surgery and no results.

HARASS AWAY, THAT'S WHAT WE HERE FOR LOL :-D :-D :-D :-D Only joking. We're all friends here and if we can help each other then we will, even if it's just listening <3 <3 <3
Oh no Jane, you don't want an access road right at the side of your house, think of the pollution and noise. There are 60 houses and if there were 2 cars per house that's 120 cars in and out all the time, not to mention any visitors they get, it would be like a motorway and that's after the houses have been built, until then you'd have all the works traffic back and forth. If they have another access route just down the road, surely they don't need another one that close. I hope it doesn't happen and they just stick to the other access instead. Good Luck with your objection.
I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since your MRI and X-ray Jane, that's gone quickly, normally they have the results within 10 days, but I suppose if you haven't heard yet it won't do any harm to chase the results up.
Yes I've got a few bruises, I always get them when I'm up ladders because I lean on the ladders so hard to keep my balance, I'm not very good with heights. You could be right with the depth of the bruise on my elbow though, it 's feeling a bit better since I started taking the anti-inflammatory tablets and pain killers and of course I've been resting it to.
I'm glad the vet could let you know what was wrong with Timmy, at least you know there was nothing you could of done to prevent it Anne. Pleased to hear your other cats are okay.
So you're new home is almost ready Ruby, I bet you can't wait? The daffodils will cheer the place up a bit, they're such a lovely colour, like a ray of sunshine. I did have a giggle at the septic man comment, but assumed you meant the septic tank man LOL
So you've saved yourself some money Frank......no new tyres to buy, that's good. I agree with Jane, maybe you and Ros could share the cooking, doing a few days each, but remember when it's her turn you must sit down and keep out of her way or she might just leave you to it if you are there, then you'll be back to square one with all the cooking again ;-) ;-)
I've watched call the midwife and I'm about to watch War and Peace, I've had it on pause for a while as my washing machine door wouldn't open. It's happened before, I just put the machine back on and the next time I try to open the door is works. Hopefully that'll be the case again.
Well, I'd better go and watch my programme before I see what's in for dinner.

Afternoon All,
Lots of sun today but it's gone now. Thanks to all who sent me the quilt pic and it is lovely Frank, but what hours she must have put into making it!
Liz, I'm glad you are staying after all. When I read your post yesterday I thought maybe that I should have kept my troubles to myself last year and not posted them on the thread and worried in case you thought me a bore too!!! I agree with Frank though about a trouble shared being a trouble halved........ or at least lessened and seen from a different perspective which can help.
Oh Jane, I know how the heart sinks when getting those letters through the door!! As well as writing your objections, whatever you do do attend the council meetings where the plans are discussed. I think the councillors take more notice if you speak to them. It does seem extreme to knock a house down to gain access, but presumably the builders have made a good offer to your neighbours for their house and land. I wouldn't be surprised if they are not after your gardens to build on next!! :-S Is nowhere safe any more. Gill's right about all the noise. Every weekday morning we have huge lorries with building materials or hired equipment reversing past our bedroom windows now and that's for just 3 houses. I was wondering when you would get your results, it should be any day now I expect.
We still haven't been to see Dad's Army yet. I can't make my mind up whether a film of it might be a bit long. Some things suit a shorter time don't they. I quite fancied Room too but it wouldn't be OH's COT.
That's good news about your wheels and tyres Frank LESS EXPENSE!! :-) :-) No I can't see you relinquishing your chef's hat either! You could end up with a barney!!
Gosh that was an eye watering vet's bill Anne. As you say thank goodness for insurance! I'm glad the vet was able to tell you what was wrong with Timmy as you would have always wondered, also that you did all you could have for him.
I was going to a lecture that looked interesting at a city hospital tonight, but it's the other side of the city and I'd be leaving in the rush hour and hadn't a clue how long to allow for the journey. I was offered free parking, but not till just before the lecture starts so where would I park if I got there half an hour early? I decided it was too much hassle in the end.
Not only do I have a big bruise from my blood test yesterday,I also forgot to tell the nurse I'm allergic to micropore so have puffy angry red blotches where that was as well.

Hi Ruby...So you are nearly done now and ready to move in to your new quarters :-D.Bet you can't wait now.I am looking forward to seeing the pics. Glad you enjoyed HAT and its travels LOL....It make me laugh at how daft it is .....But watch this space. You never know where it might go next :-D I expect yor Lucy enjoys the company of her little companion.Does she help with finding the way around? I was chatting to my neighbour 2 doors down earlier and she said that Thomas nearly got caught by her Grandsons girlfriends dog the other day in her garden :-S.The dog is some kind of retriever x ridgeback...Thankfully Thomas ran like the wind on his little legs and got away.....The scare obviously hasn't put him off too much as he still wanders through their garden.I think Thomas needs to think carefully about traipsing across their lawn in future LOL(or at least keep his eyes peeled)
Must get on with dinner now

I'm still getting all these spam emails. There's dating, funeral plans, credit cards, loans, accident ones.........they cover my whole life with everything I could possibly want!
Forgot to say Mel, your OH's GIRLS sound like my SATURDAY AFTERNOON BOYFRIEND!! :-D lol. Once we and one of OH's footie pals and wife stayed overnight at a hotel in Weston Super Mer, as they were going to the match the next day, Saturday. We were having brekkie the next morning when his pal, who is a bit of a cheeky joker, who OH had told about the pretend boyfriend ,said loudly, 'What is your Saturday afternoon boyfriend doing today Ann?' Of course I could see ears were pricking up at the tables where other guests were sitting, but I just calmly said, 'He's staying at another hotel up the road so you don't see him.......but I'm seeing him later on while you are at the match!' :-) We were all chuckling but goodness knows what the other guests made of it. lol.

Oh no Ann, you weren't even remotely boring, I really didn't mean to imply that. I do tend to keep things to myself and just come over as being niggly and generally bad tempered without saying why, which can be a bit trying for other people. This is what made me feel negative. You've all been so supportive, so as I said I shall niggle at you for a while longer! I think no news is good news Jane, almost certainly the results would have been back if they showed any concern. Son rang this afternoon and I got a bit teary. He was so good and sympathetic, told me not to worry, and not to do my usual trick of meeting trouble half way. I shall take his advise!! Cas is on my lap!! I think she's cold!!
