You are a little Bug##r Ann, I bet the guests at the hotel wondered where they were staying (KINGS CROSS AREA) lol :-D :-D :-D

Oh dear Jane what a thing to happen. I thought the houses were being built down the main road opposite you. I can't think of the name for the life of me !! Do you know if your neighbour has accepted the builders offer ?? If not. It would be good for all of you to club together and buy the house, then no road could go through. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Well I did pancakes for tea. It was as much as I could do to eat two. When I went to make the batter, I only had one egg left. I can't remember the last time we ran out of eggs in the house (NEVER)

Nice that things are almost there Ruby. One of our two little poodles was blind, and the other would lead her to the lawn and bring her back when she was done. Wonderful how they manage.

I think Ros does two meals a week now, Stir Fry and Curry. All the daily roasts are down to me.

Will catch up with the rest of the posts later.

I must get my big coat out for my walk to the pub. West Ham V Liverpool 7.45 KO (kick off)

Evening all

It's been quite a nice day here we've had a little sun and the wind has dropped .

Liz ,don't you dare go any where young lady ,we all missed you last time you went , we're all here for you and you certainly won't bore us ,it's good to get things off your chest instead of letting them go round and round in your head . <3
Poor little Cas needs a nice cuddle if she's cold ,does she have a doggie coat ?

The cooker chap has just rung and is coming tomorrow ,the dyno rod man came this morning and we can now flush again .

We went to the range this morning and came home with a couple of adult coloring books and some crayons :-D i did some this afternoon and it's quite relaxing .

Oh Ruby not long now before you can move in ,looking forward to seeing the photo's .

That's good news about your wheels and tyres Frank ,why did Ros think they would blow ?
We had to have two new tyres on the car this week ,it's all pay out at the moment !!

I often think that people must think that Fitz and I are an item lol,but then he does have several other women friends who he goes out to lunch with...The restaurant owners must be so confused and also very curious as to why Fitz lunches with so many women LOL.All the others, other than me are ex colleagues from his work.

LOL Mel Allure.I don't know what Chris's was.Just trying to think...Nope I can't remember. There was just this 'thing' where we clicked. He was a bit on the shy side and I probably gave him the come on ....Well if i hadn't ,he may never have made the 'move'
:-D.So here we are nearly 35 years later....I got him out of his shell :-D

Yes Mandy she does, but it's hanging up by the log burner drying from her very wet muddy run in our waterlogged field!! It belonged to Millie, so is a bit big, but made of nice thick towelling and keeps her beautifully warm!
We had home made meat balls in tomato sauce with rice. It was lovely and hit the spot!

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 9 Feb 2016 19:44

Meatballs ,cooked in the wood burner ? i don't think i've ever made meatballs ,mum use to make Rissoles ,they were so good and i could never make them like she did.

That's the type of thing I would say Ann :-D :-D

I remember years ago I was at the pub with OH and his mate, then a couple sat at the table next to us. I asked OH for a drink and he asked the couple next to us weather I was with them as he'd never seen me before, I'd never been so embarrassed in my life, it didn't help when his mate joined in and agreed with OH. The couple next to us just left giving me a funny look. I can laugh about it now but at the time it wasn't funny. We were all about 22 at the time, so to young for me to come back with a smart remark. I'm to quick for him now, so he hasn't done it again. I did try to say he was my husband but that just seemed to make it worse........silly man :-D :-D :-D

Thomas nearly lost one of his nine lives then Jane, he was lucky wasn't he?
So you might get your results in a weeks time. They're taking their time, it normally takes around 10 days, maybe they are busy and have a backlog. Hope they come back okay for you.

What uniform is that Mel, was your OH a fireman or a policeman, or shouldn't I ask ;-) ;-) Liz said she is staying now Mel, which we're all pleased about.

The washing machine door is okay now, it worked putting it on again. Strange really as the door not opening doesn't happen all the time.....wonder what's causing it? :-S :-S

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 9 Feb 2016 19:51

Gill do you have a child lock on your washing machine ? if you have perhaps you've hit that button my mistake and thats stopping the door from opening .

Gillx

Gillx Report 9 Feb 2016 20:03

No I don't have a child lock Mandy, there is a 2 minute timer on the door and a light flashes but it didn't stop flashing, so I put the machine on again, the door opened after that.

Pleased to hear you have a flushing toilet now, just the cooker to sort out tomorrow and you'll be back to normal again :-)

Going to watch Back in time for the weekend now, it's just started.

magpie Report 9 Feb 2016 20:10

Ian most certainly wouldn't fit into his uniform anymore!!! It was 50 years ago when he handed it in along with his flying kit! He was involved with search and rescue and was part of a helicopter crew and really loved it till he wanted to get married!! I can remember when we lived at Portland and he was on the helicopter station. Our son was a baby and our garden went nearly to the top of the cliff, so he and I would sit on the wall and wave to the sailors on the various war ships that went by! Waving to daddy? well, that's what I told our little boy, aged 10 months, and he believed me!!!!

Annx

Annx Report 9 Feb 2016 21:02

I bet you are glad to have your toilet working again Mandy. Just the cooker tomorrow now and everything will be in perfect working order!

Mel I bet your OH looked great in his uniform, being tall with his dark hair. At work all our offices had direct links to the fire station and there were regular alarm practices for bombs, fires etc. Us ladies would jostle for position waiting for the fire engines to come so we could see the hunky firemen jump out!! lol. :-D

Yes I am one of of those aren't I Frank!! :-) Life's more enjoyable with a bit of fun thrown in isn't it?

With living in different houses for years I would often drive to meet OH at a pub or restaurant car park to have a drink or a meal. So we would both turn up in seperate cars and there would be a romantic 'clinch' and I'm sure some people thought we were up to no good. It still happens now sometimes to save him bringing me back home if he is going on somewhere like footie or a meeting.

Well I am a chuffed as I can be. West ham won 2-`1
scored in the last two minutes of extra time. So we are through to the next round. Being that the match lasted an extra half hour it meant I had an extra pint, so should sleep well tonight.

You girls do get excited about men in uniform don't you ??

I am ready to get into my little bed. So see you tomorrow.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 9 Feb 2016 23:05

Gill yes he was a fireman. I have a pic of him with Katie Boyle when he got his medal for rescueing a girl off the top of a high rise building. She was going to jump but he managed to talk her down and knock her backwards onto the roof. He was also at that escalator fire on the underground and they were always the first ones at the scene of a train crash. If he starts to tell me something I just listen as he dos'nt give up stories easily as it brings it all back. He had only just retired when I met him.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 9 Feb 2016 23:08

I meant to say about Jane's house. Is it detached and which neighbour is it? It's not the one that dos'nt look after her animals is it?

Mandy I am pleased you now have a flushing loo. Nothing worse is there? All clear now then and back in working order.

Morning all and evening Kim,

No sunshine this morning but it is dry at the moment.

West Ham did well with that late goal yesterday Frank bet that made you pleased.

We had a little sleety snow yesterday evening which looked funny on the tops of the cars but it did'nt last more than a few minuets and then it melted.

Morning All,

Lovely sunshine here and the washings on the line.

Mel. that ia great your OH getting a medal. He must be very proud of that. He must have enjoyed the exciting times as a fireman and I bet he does have lots of tales to tell.

Frank I do like men in a uniform but also like a man in a smart, well fitting suit.

We are off to the fav carvery next, then to the solicitors to sign those papers!!! :-D

Frank

Frank Report 10 Feb 2016 11:11

Morning to you all, Evening Kim,

Only been to Jane's once and it was dark so not sure which side of hers will be for the road. I remember that road now Jane CRANFORD ROAD ??

Brillient sunshine when I got up, but now started to dull down but without that horrible wind.

Yesterday while in Tesco's I found some "BLACK PUDDING SAUSAGES" so I put them in the trolley. Ros thought I was mad, but I had a couple for breafast in a sarnie, a little spicy but very nice.

I have a bought of sneezing at the moment 25 so far. ;-) ;-) My head is swimming and eyes are watering. Must be the spices in the sausage :-D :-D :-D :-0 :-0 :-0

No plans for today, I think Ros will be putting some small plants into the baskets down the drive. She bought them yesterday.

Suns out again. What are you all up to today ???

Gillx

Gillx Report 10 Feb 2016 11:39

Morning all

Lovely sunshine here today but not very warm with it though :-(
I'm looking forward to the warmer weather as I'd like to do something with our garden this year. I don't think we're going to sell any time soon, so now I'm thinking of improving rather than moving.

Our garden is big enough to take an extension on our bungalow and still have a reasonable sized garden left over. I need to get a shed to put the garden stuff in then have the asbestos roof taken off the garage and the garage taken down, it takes up a lot of space and is ugly, plus it's far to close to the bungalow should we decide to have an extension built.

Looks like Ros is getting in the mood for her gardening again Frank, she did work hard last year didn't she? Not sure if I'm pleased to hear West Ham beat Liverpool though as I support Liverpool, but I'm pleased you're happy about it. Extra time on the match, so an extra pint for you.......bet you slept well last night :-D :-D ;-)
I love black pudding Frank, although I haven't had any for years, I might get some next time I go shopping, I quite fancy some now you've mentioned it.

So your OH was a fireman Mel, Sandra loves firemen, always has and she has a big smile on her face every time she sees one. My OH used to be a security guard years ago and wore a nice uniform ;-) ;-) ;-)

Have you got your cooker sorted yet Mandy? Hope it's working okay for you now

So you're finally signing the papers today then Ann, what a relief that will be after all this time. How is FIL doing, is he back home yet?

10 months old is a lovely age Liz, I bet your son was well chuffed thinking he was waving to his daddy <3

Nothing much planned for today, I'm still trying to rest my arm, it's a bit achy today and I've still got some pins and needles in my hand. It's more annoying than anything, but hopefully it'll be better soon.

Going to get a cuppa now, see you all later
