My BIL has had both his done.

Yes those poor whales Mandy. It always seems such a shame they take the wrong route. they were all males.

Going back to getting rid of Thomas's kills. If it is a mouse or rat you should always pick it up by the scruff of the neck and never by the tail or back part that could have come into contact with urine. Thats how people get that Weil's Disease. Have'nt you got a coal shouvel to pic them up with and toos them over the fence.

You're right Mel, it's always better to use a shovel or at least wear gloves when picking up dead wild life as you can pick up some real nasties particularly from mice and bunnies, well, from anything really.
Much better day here, nice and sunny, so while OH went to the dentist and did a bit of shopping, I stayed at home and did some gardening, helped by Cas. Both our offspring rang, so we both felt better.
Brilliant about the house Ann, you must be relieved.
To be honest Gill, from what you're saying, I think making staying plans is a good one. You can keep your options open and see what happens.
Hope your hip is ok Jane.

I am so pleased you COMPLETE tomorrow Ann. It will be a big weight off your minds when its all over. As to the condition of FIL G should have been informed about the heart attack. What a disgrace to tell the home first. I would be having words with the hospital if I were G and asking why he was'nt told when he had been asking every time he went.

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Enjoy your day and your cake :-D :-D :-D

Very dull here today, think we might get some rain later. We had hail last night and it went really cold brrrr.

So it's the big day with the house today Ann, hope it all goes smoothly. I bet your pleased it's all over. Will FIL be able to stay where he is now, or will he have to move to a different home? Sorry to hear your OH wasn't informed about FIL's heart attack, that should never of happened. Maybe he should put in a complaint, he shouldn't of had to find out from the staff at the home.
I've emailed you Mel's photos, hope they came through okay for you? Hope you are feeling a bit better today with no more sneezing.
You too Frank.

Yes, Liz we are getting fed up of this place not selling, it's been a very long time, so we are making plans to improve it to suit us, rather than moving as we can't see it selling any time soon. We never did hear back from the man who was thinking of a loft conversion, or the lady with her daughter. The feedback from the agent really isn't very good, they seem to leave things hanging with no proper end to what is happening and we're really fed up of it now. All the agents around here seem to have the same attitude and it's not fair on the vendors.

Going to get a cuppa now, not doing much today, what is everyone else up to?

I've just checked my emails and notice you received the one I sent you Ann, with Mel's photos on. You're right the hedgehog does look well fed with plenty of bowls around him :-) :-)

<3 <3 <3 Lots of love and wishes <3 <3 <3

Morning all and evening Kim,

We have sunshine this morning and blue sky with a few white clouds. Hope its the same for Mandy. Enjoy your cake.

We've nothing planned for today so will just see how the day goes. I have to do some washing and ironing so that will keep me quiet for a while.

The email I sent with the pictures on came back from Kim. Does anyone see her on Facebook to know if she is ok?

Frank

Frank Report 11 Feb 2016 10:57

Morning my lovelies and David, Evening Kim,

Good news then Ann regarding the completion on the sale of FIL house. The hospital needs a sharp kick up the backside for not telling you about the Heart Attack. I would certainly require a full explanation from the Management. !!!

It seems these poor Whales are loosing their sence of direction, and as the North Sea in so shallow, they are unable to find food. I see one PERSON was caught trying to extract a tooth from a dead one on the beech. What sort of "THING" would want to do that. ??

Mandy "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to you. TWENTY ONE AND A HALF NOW. That's what Ros said to the boys when they were smaller, when asked how old she was.

Still no sign of the seeds. When I see our regular postman I will ask him to see if he can check the envelope to see if he can feel the seeds. When he is in the depot.

Yes Mel, I see Kim on FB and speak to her on occassions. I will pass on they you have been asking after her.

We ended up not eating last night. It got to 7.00 pm and I said I wasn't hungry. I had those sausages in the morning, scallops in cheese sauce at 1.30 pm Tea and cake at 4.30 pm. Ros was feeling a bit sicky so she didn't want to eat either. About 9.00 we had a bit of cheese on toast. Which didn't repeat on me. :-0 :-0

Clear sky's and bright sunshine here. We had a good frost last night. We have been promised frost, sleet and snow for the weekend, so I am not doing the lawns. I don't want the frost to get at a cut lawn, it coyld do some damage.

Ros is at "LINUS" with Margaret today, so I have a nice quiet house all to myself.

;-) ;-) ;-)

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 11 Feb 2016 11:54

We had a hardish frost last night when I looked out the window at the car rooves then a bit later, not much, it was raining and all the frost had gone!! I like looking at the frost and was disappointed to see it raining. It could have snowed and then I would have been happy, but blimmin more rain was not on...... :-| :-| :-|

Mandy, I've sent you an e.card. Hope it arrives!!
Lovely morning here, bright sunshine so we've been outside doing this and that. Hard frost first thing, the birdbath had to be deiced, cleaned and refilled. Son rang and had another chat with both of us. He'll be over next week for supper, so something to look forward to.

Afternoon All

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY.Hope you are having a lovely day today. <3 <3 <3 <3

Is it all fininished now then Ann. and the keys of the house handed in? I can just hear your sighs of relief. That is shocking of the hospital not to have told Gordon that his Father had had a heart attack !!!!.Hopefully FIL has settled back in at the home now and is not even more confused with being moved around

My new Kindle has arrived. It is just charging up now ,and then I will have to get Chris to help me transfer all the books I still have to read onto the new one.

I really need to do some housework this afternoon. The amount of dust in the lounge is drreadful and the carpet needs a darned good hoovering. The stairs look very mucky too :-|

Frank Report 11 Feb 2016 14:23

Afternoon from a bored little boy,!!

I have been reading my book for the passed three hours, and only stopped to have some smoked mackeral and a coffee.

Was almost falling asleep, which is a big NO NO. or I won't sleep tonight.

You are busy little bees Liz, I was going to try to cut the lawns, but Madam has told me I must not, as this mower is to heavy for me to handle. I am bidding on a smaller one on ebay which is only 12 months old. and they will send it my courier, so no travelling if I win it. I will put this mower on ebay and the other free site which I can't remember at this moment. AH GUMTREE. I will do that this afternoon.

Still a lovely afternoon here with lots of sunshine. I bet it will be cold tonight.

magpie

magpie Report 11 Feb 2016 14:44

Yes Frank, it's looking a bit black here now although the sun is still out, and it is cold outside! I think it's very wise to get a more manageable mower. We've got a lightweight one for the lawn, and a ride on for the field and rough grass.
Chicken for supper tonight, so pretty easy, shopping tomorrow, oh no were going now as Ian wants tomorrow free to put up a gutter on the two new roofs! Let's hope it doesn't snow!!!!

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY <3 <3 <3

It's lovely and bright here today but a lot colder.

Pleased that the sale of the house has now gone through Ann. It was out of order the hospital not letting you know about your F.I.Ls. heart attack

I had the Sainsbury delivery this morning as usual and took Amy for her walk apart from that it has been a quiet day.

Afternoon all

Thank you all for the birthday wishes ,the cards and the lovely e card from Liz, Mel thanks for the purple podded peas i will have to read up to see what to do with them .

We had son and DIL call in this morning and my sister and BIL ,i have had some lovely things ,three 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles ,chocolates ,a plant and hubby is going to buy me a new handbag when we can get to the shops ,i like to pick my own bag as i don't like the huge suitcase ones as i call them :-D but i don't like a small bag either so it's best if i pick my own .
We're off to sons later for cake if we can find room for it ,we have had a very filling lunch and hubby is now having a doze !!

Ann that was very bad of the hospital not to inform you of FIL's heart attack especially as OH had been trying to ask how he was ,you would have thought he would have been told as his next of kin not the home !!
I hope the house signing has all gone well and it's now off your hands it will be a lot off your minds .

Frank don't you pay for that letter with the seeds in i'll send you some more ,the postman would certainly feel the seeds as they are the size of peas .

We had a sharp frost last night ,i was quite surprised to look out and see the car so white .

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 11 Feb 2016 15:45

Mandy oh was surprized that they delivered your letter with the seeds in especially as they were in foil!! It may be better with a little tissue round them. The other thing is was it a licky stamp or one of the ones with sticky on the back because that should never have come off.

We had a short sharp shower a little while ago and I was going to bring the washing in but the sun came out again so I left it out there.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 11 Feb 2016 15:57

Mandy I grow purple podded in a big flowerpot on the decking. They grow extremly tall, over 5'. Feed with tom fertilizer. They also have lilac and mauve flowers so are pretty as well.

Frank

Frank Report 11 Feb 2016 16:08

The sun is so bright coming through the conservatory, I have had to pull the curtain across.

Ros is back from LINUS with enough material to make about 15 new covers. Some of the material (which is all cotton) has some beautiful patterns on it. I am sure they will look fabulous when made up into the little blankets. I've told her she ahould buy some material, and make some to sell, it would at least pay for the materials. They would be ideal for childrens cot or comforters.

Home alone tonigh also, she's at choir practice from 7.00 to 9.00 pm So no BARNY'S here tonight ;-) ;-) ;-) unless I decide to argue with myself !!!

Glad you have had a nice day Mandy. <3 <3 <3

Anne, Having a Sainsbury delivery must save you a lot of lugging around the store. I would like to do our shop on Line, but Ros likes to "get out" and get her own.

Ann, Is evrything tied up now ?? All signed, sealed and delivered !!! as the song goes. If you are not to young to remember it lol

Liz, I am just going on ebay to see how my bid is doing. As it's only been used once, I imagine it will cost me a bit more than my virgin bid of £20.00 plus £10.00 for courier delivery. We will see. Good game this bidding, but you mustn't get carried away.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 11 Feb 2016 16:14

Oh i never thought about the foil being a problem i'll have to put the next ones i send Frank in tissue paper ,it was peel off stamp i used so it shouldn't have come off they were the last three christmas ones in the book i bought.

I have a nice big pot i can plant the peas in .

Jane

Jane Report 11 Feb 2016 18:00

Good Luck Frank with your bidding.Hope you manage to get it at a good price :-D
I have never bid on anything on ebay or Gumtree. My Sister on the other hand is an expert lol.She is always selling or buying something. Some wonderful bargains she has had too.Hannah had bought some smashing designer clothes at incredibly good prices.

We have been looking at this application for planning permission to demolish next door and the building of the 60 dwellings.Chris said (just jokingly I think) we could sell our house and garden to the developers as several houses could be built on this plot and there could be direct access onto the new road.
We are actually just one of only a few people down this road with a garden that doesn't go right back to the field. Most with the long gardens are willing to sell off a large part of their land and still have more than enough .
To think we moved to this house because it was surrounded by lovely countryside !!!
By the time the massive development across the road is complete(many years) and then if this one is given the go ahead there will be very little countryside left :-(

Thomas has just come in for the first time today.I had to let him out at 1am and he was creating merry hell with his meowing .He has had a long sleep in the summerhouse this afternoon.

Mel thanks for reminding me about Lyme Disease from Rats and Mice.I don't know why I hadn't thought ot that myself. As for picking up the remains of Rabbits I do pick them up using a big wad of Kitchen paper or a plastic bag before throwing them over into the ditch over the road.It is time for Thomas's worm treatment now which is good seeing he has started hunting again. That is on tomorrows list 'to do'.

Mandy you are going to be busy with all these big puzzles !!!!!.I agree with you about choosing your own handbag .Chris has bought me a couple in the past and I have either been able to change them ,or pretend to like and not use.

My new Kindle now has all my books downloaded and is up and running :-D

Ann I think being able to have your shopping delivered to your door is such a great idea. Not that I have ever used this service(yet).I may have said but Hannah and the 2 girls she shares her house with either have a weekly or fortnightly delivery. As they are all out at work everyday, and have no big supermarket close by they find this service a great bonus. I am a bit picky when it comes to buying fresh stuff so woudn't be too keen on someone else choosing them for me.

Log delivery due here in the morning so we have just moved my car close up to Chris's,James has enough room to park his tonight and then he will be gone again at 8 am.We seem to have got through a load of logs just lately .It will be another cold night tonight I think as it is a clear sky.

Better get on with dinner now.
