I have a nice bundle of cards waiting for me for Sunday. Oh won't let me go for the post so he c an put them aside for me.

I started using the on line shopping with Sainsburys when I worked at South Hill Park, it is only a ten minute walk from here but I do have a large shop what with the animal food and family at the weekends it would take me several shops during the week I hate supermarket shopping so it works out fine for me..The food delivered is always very fresh and I only had reason to complain once and I wias given £10,00 off my next bill. The other good thing is the bargains are always high lighted and because the items give the individual price per kilo its easy to work out if they are true bargains. You can order up to three weeks in advance so if something is going to be a lot cheaper a week later and its not urgent I will wait.
Jane I hope the proposed planning so close to you doesn't go ahead apart from anything else it would be a worry with Thomas and the extra traffic going in and out.
Frank it sounds like Ros is going to be a busy bee again with more sewing .Wnen I worked there was an American tutor who taught patchwork quilting and her classes were always fully booked. I remember her ordering fat quarters for the students,

Anne, my daughter uses online grocery shopping all.the time, she's got a young family and the run their own business so her time is precious. I hate supermarket shopping too and if Ian wasn't willing to help me I'd use online. I usually buy meat and veg at our local farm shop, so its only everyday things from Sainsbury's which could easily be delivered. All the shopping got done, so that saves going out tomorrow!

Mandy, when the seeds arrived here the envelope had been opened and the tin foil the seeds were in as well. Maybe the post office was checking what it was. There were six seeds inside is that how many you sent, I only ask in case someone took some out. Six is plenty and I'm looking forward to planting them. The weather forecast for the weekend is frosty so I'm going to wait a little longer until the weather warms up a bit as I believe the seeds prefer warmth......but then again, don't all seeds ;-) ;-) It sounds like you got some lovely things for your birthday. I don't blame you for wanting to pick your own bag, I'm the same and if you're anything like me you won't really know what you want until you see it. The perfect one is just waiting for you to find it.
I've always liked the idea of ordering my shopping online Anne, but feel I might miss a few bargains and I believe they sometimes substitute things if they don't have the exact things you want, which I wouldn't like. It is a good idea though, I just need to drag myself into the 21st century LOL.
I posted your card Mel at the same time as Mandy's, so I hope it got to you okay.
So your new kindle has arrived Jane, good job Chris knows what he's doing and has sorted it out for you <3 So you're all up and running now.
Did your bidding win Frank, are you the proud owner of a new lawn mower yet?
I've managed to get the little bit of filling done on the kitchen ceiling today. I'm not in any pain now although my little finger and the side of my hand is still numb and under my arm up at the top feels a bit like a dead arm. I'm still taking the anti-inflammatory tablets and painkillers, but can only do that for a couple more days. They seems to be doing the trick though ;-) ;-)

Gill if they have to substitute an item its put in a blue bag and the drivers ask you if its acceptable the same if it has a short use by date, If you order eggs they check them for cracks and if there is one you still get to keep them but you are refunded for the whole box.

Yes Gill six seeds is what i posted ,i never gave it a thought when i put the seeds in the foil ,i only did that because it stopped them rolling about ,do you think they scan all post and wondered what they were :-S
I quite fancy doing an online shop ,son does it and if they have don't have what you want they give you a substitute , but they do they tell you and if you don't want it they take it back, also if they have an item on offer and they don't have that item you can be given a dearer item but only pay the offer price for it.

Hi you lot,
Here I am all alone, flicking through the channels trying to find something I want to watch. Have just knocked the mouse of the pad, the batteries were all over the floor, had to get down on my hands and knees to get them. NOT GOOD.
Gill, when on earth are you going to slow down. Do you need to be on the ceiling with your arm hurting ??
I bet the Post office thought there was something sinister in the envelope, perhaps why it had been opened. I bet mine have been investigated by the POLICE !!!!
The auction doesn't finish until Sunday. I did ask for a "BUY IT NOW" price, but then realised that the seller is new to Ebay, so notified him I would let the action run until Sunday and see what happens. He did contact me to say he had a lot of interest in the mower, but when I looked, I was the only bidder. So I am approaching this with caution.
Just opened a nice cold beer from the fridge. So I am off to enjoy it.
See you in the morning.

Evening All,
A bit late but <3 <3 <3HAPPY BIRTHDAY MANDY <3 <3 <3. It sounds like you had some great pressies. I like to pick my own bags too! :-)
The home got to know about FIL because his discharge papers went to the home with him and they read it on those. They had rung the hospital themselves a few days ago and weren't told either. The hospital didn't even tell OH he had pneumonia either as well as the heart attack. As far as he knew it was a chest infection. When OH went to see his dad at the home this morning, he said he'd deteriorated since a couple of days ago and was almost unresponsive and looked very pale. The home said he'd lost a lot of weight and they'd had to feed him as he couldn't manage himself anymore. It made me wonder if the hospital had just put food in front of him and taken it away again with giving him any help to eat it. He has to go for an echocardiogram tomorrow which is a shame as all this travelling about can't be good for him when he's so unwell.
Jane I can well imagine how you feel about the planning application. Mind you it could be very lucrative to sell your garden!! Chris might not want to do so much gardening in a few years time. We were saying the other day how nice it used to be to drive down our close and see the glade of pine trees at the bottom and the field beyond. Now it looks so different with just one tree left and all the houses they built. The fields at the back of us are protected till next year but I'm already worried what will happen then and just feel that houses will be built on them. They are ancient fields with the 'strip system' clearly visible and there are 2 old ponds in them, but none of this seems to matter these days. Then again if you move.......where to? Somewhere else nice that will have the view built on as soon as you have settled. :-S I wouldn't mind so much if it they built bungalows at the back of us, but the greedy builders will want to put 3 storey houses up if they can and we'll lose all the privacy we paid extra for when we bought these bungalows.
Yes the house has GONE!!! The solicitor has said the cheque is in the post!! :-) We had another chuckle when OH sorted the keys to take this morning. There were no less than 8 front door keys and FIL never had one. We hadn't a clue what most of the other keys were for.......the new owners can sort that out!!
I got some bargains at Grantham today..........2 tops that had been £20 each reduced to £8, a waterproof Regatta jacket half price at £24.95 and leather Pavers shoes half price at £19.99 and on top I got another 10% off with my card. I was nearly home when OH rang me and we agreed to meet at Sainsbury's for a COT and catch up in the cafe before he went to a match. As soon as I parked and had opened the boot to get a few bags out, a man came by to collect some bags out of his car and stopped to chat about and look at my car. We were still chatting when OH arrived. lol. 'Who was that' he asked when the man left, thinking I knew him. 'No idea' I said.
Gill, at least in the meantime you are improving your place which will make it more appealing to buyers in the future and be more enjoyable for yourselves until you do move. The home has just rung to say they are calling the doctor to come and check FIL as he is so chesty. They'll let me know when he's been.

It sounds to me as though they should'nt have let FIL back to the home but then again perhaps he would'nt be so weak if they had made sure he was eating whilst in hospital.
Gill don't sow your seeds outside or inthe greenhousse. I have mine on the kitchen windowsill. I did mine yesterday.
Mandy yes post is exrayed if it feels suspicious. They probably thought they were hemp seeds!!! Ha Ha Ha......bit big for those.

Well the doc has given him another course of antibiotics so they are just keeping an eye on him for now.
I meant to say Mel how lovely your sweet peas were in the pic and how it reminded me of picking bunches like that a few years ago. I might try some again this year as the scent is so lovely. Mine did tend to get those rape seed black beetles before which are not nice to have inside, but I could try spraying them.
Beading tomorrow and the lady who brings her van with beads to sell is coming so I better make sure my purse is full and that I get there early. ;-) :-)

I think I'm first on here today! We were up at 8.00 as Ian wants to do the gutters for the two roofs, also the chimney needs sweeping, and that has to be done asap as the fire is out and the sooner it's back on the better!! My much loved stepfather died (of cancer) 29 years ago today, this evening in fact. We'd both been sitting with him in hospital all day, and had gone home about 5pm, for a couple of hours, and we're just preparing to go back when the phone went, asking us to come back, but when we got there (only up the road) he had died - I still feel slightly guilty, but I know he would have told me not to worry, that we'd done our best during those very difficult 8 months, that everything was ok and that I'm not to worry!! (He was always telling me that all my life in times of crisis!!) They were lovely parents and after all these years I still miss them, particularly in times of crisis!! But there we go, I was lucky to have had them. Cold here, but potentially sunny, and dry, so I'm going to clean a few windows, the sun shows up every mark, and there are plenty of those!!!

Morning all
Sunny here at the moment but still very cold and it's suppose to be getting colder over the weekend :-( :-(
I might look into online shopping now I know a bit more about it. It's nice if they have to substitute something they let you know, I didn't know that.
My kitchen is really cold Mel as we don't have any heating in that room, so I'm not sure the seeds will do well if I put them in there. I think I'll pop them in my living room, it's quite a big room so doesn't get to hot, they'll probably stand a better chance of germinating then.
I think they opened the envelope Mandy because of the tin foil, if they were doing an x-ray on it, I don't think it would of worked through the tin foil, so they probably had to open it to find out what was inside. It did have some sellotape (sp) on the envelope, did you put it on, if not then the post office must of tried to seal the envelope for me. At least I got them so that was good and I will plant them up next week. Do you need special compost or will mult-purpose compost work?
Sorry to hear about your FIL Ann, hope he starts to feel better soon, now he has some more medication. Is he still at the home or has he gone back to hospital? If he's still in the home then the staff will make sure he is eating properly which can only help. It does sound like he didn't eat very well whilst in hospital. You did well with your bargains yesterday. Hope you get some more at your beading today.
So you have to wait until Sunday to see if your bid won Frank. Lets hope it did and that the lawn mower isn't to heavy for you this time :-) My arm isn't hurting now Frank, it's just numb in my hand and the top of my arm feels a bit like a dead arm you used to get at school if someone punched it :-S All I need to do on Monday is give the ceiling a light sanding down then OH can give it a couple of coats of paint and it's finished. I'm not one for sitting around doing nothing, I get really bored, even if I watch the TV I've got to be doing something else at the same time, like my hand sewing or my family tree. I've always been the same. Sitting around was driving me mad. It only took a few minutes as there are only a few small areas to sort out, so I didn't over do it......promise ;-) ;-)
Going to get a cuppa now, then take another look at my family tree, I'm still stuck on this part and it's driving me nuts :-| :-| :-S :-S Hopefully I'll have a breakthrough soon :-|

I didn't see your post Liz. You shouldn't feel guilty about the passing of your step father, you'd been there all day and needed a break, it's understandable. He sounds a lovely man and wouldn't want you to feel like this. Try and remember the good times and remember him with a smile <3 <3 <3
If it's as cold where you are today as it is here you'll be glad when your chimney's done so you can put your fire back on. My OH cleaned out the gutters the other week and my mum's asked him to do her once his arm is up to it. It's still a bit bruised from when he fell with the washing machine. Luckily he didn't break any bones and is now back in work. Although he has a day off today and is still asleep, as is Sandra, the lazy things ;-) ;-)

Good morning all, Evening Kim,
Not sure what we will get today. I was up at 6.00 am as it got light we had bright sunshine, that dissapeared and now it's overcast.
Liz, When you love someone so much. It dosen't matter if they died last yeay or 50 years ago, you will always remember them with fondnes.
I had a call from my Nephew last night to say my SIL (FRAN) Bill's wife was in hospital. She had an Ameurysm in her head on Saturday. They took her straight into a London hospital and operated on Monday. He hasn't any more news, but said he will keep me informed of any developments. I haven't got numbers for her children, so I will have to rely on them ringing me.
Ros had a good night at the Choir last night. The are learning "Super Trooper" and "The something ?? of life" sung by Sammy Davies. (the song will come to me ) !!
Ann, I think the hospital needs reporting to the local Health Council. The treatment of FIL is less than good. As the poor old boy, couldn't feed himself, someone should have helped him. Lets face it he was in there because he needed better treaTMENT. wHICH HE DIDN'T GET!!!
jANE i THINK IT'S THE CASE OF WAIT AND SEE over the future development. With all the neighbours sticking together, I think you will have a good case.
I have had Weetabix for breakfast. It made a nice change.
Off for Shower and shave, BBL

Thanks Gill. You're quite right, remembering the good times, and there were plenty of them, does bring a smile to my face. Both my parents were only in their mid 60's when they died and I've always felt that almost overnight they were snatched away, now you see them, now you don't!! which I know is silly, but I'm still not on speaking terms with God over it! which I know is also silly!!!!!! Sun is well out and the chimney is up and running again! I know what you mean about getting a bit bored! There are always plenty of 'jobs' but not the enthusiasm to do them!!!

Morning all and evening Kim,
The Rythm of life is the song you were trying to think of Frank.
We've had some sunshine this morning but it has gone for the mo. It is very cold here.
Oh's father died in Feb and I think it was today. I know it was near my birthday so it is a sad time for us too.

Who's a lucky girl then Mel, Of course it's Friday, and I don't expect you would get a delivery at the weekend. They sound very nice, you will have to put on the thread. !!! That's the song. I just couldn't remember it. Is it an AGE THING ???
Beautiful afternoon of sunshine, and it's quite warm outside, even though I haven't stayed out there long.
After my shower and shave I put on clean trousers and long sleeve shirt. Both are a bit tight round the midle. Ros said "BEER BELLY" she always comments on my tummy. !!!
Have put the mower I bought on Gumtree. I hope to get my money back, which will pay for the one I am bidding on. With spring around the corner I hope it will sell.
Mel/Liz, It does seem the time of year for elder people to pass away. It has always been a bad time of the year for deaths, and you tend to hear more of them than in the better weather. Glad the winter is nearly over ;-) ;-) ;-)

Afternoon all,
We have sun now but we have seen a little light rain this morning . I've had a good day getting lots of jobs done ,i started off cleaning the fridge out ,had all the glass shelves out and washed them and got every thing back i then washed all the work tops and then gave the kitchen bin a good clean ,i've mended the girls dressing up dresses and swept the leaves by the back door . Sorted out all my cooking tins and thrown some out ,one of the loaf tins had rust in the bottom !! I think when it's a nice day you feel like getting on with jobs ,i really need to clean some windows but not today now ,if it's a nice day tomorrow i'll get out and get them done.
Gill i did put some sellotape on the envelope ,my seeds have grown well the plants are in my upstairs bathroom they are nice and warm in there .
Ann i hope these antibiotics help poor FIL, makes you wonder if he had any thing to eat while in hospital ,the food gets put down by the catering people and i suppose if FIL was not really with it and sleeping it was just assumed he didn't want it and was taken away ,makes you wonder if he had much in the way of liquids too !! What are you making now in beading class ? what a good idea the lady coming round to classes selling her beads from her van ,i should think she does a good trade .
Hope you manage to get the price you paid for the mower Frank then the new one won't have cost you any extra . Does Ros practise singing the songs at home ?
Mel Red Roses how lovely ,it's nice when they are just opening as they last a lot longer .
Easy meal tonight Ham egg and chips ,oh and a bit of birthday cake if we have room for it .
