Morning my little people, Evening Kim,

David, You must be tired out by mid morning, being awake at that time.

Jane, "MAX WALL" I can't think why Chris would say something like that, I bet you look lovely in tight leggings. !!!!

Gill has ask me to let you know she in having trouble getting on line. She sends her love, and will be back when she can.

Anne, I can understand you not wanting anymore Bananas after eating one with the SKIN on.

Very heavy frost last night, now we have wall to wall sunshine, but I bet it's cold out there. Brrrr.

I think it was HIT MA. that a woman would say "CAN I DO YOU NOW SIR" I might be completely wrong,. One of you older ones will know the show. 6.45 each evening we had "Dick Barton Special Agent" wth "JOCK" snd "SNOWY".

Ros has just gone to Towcester to get some bits, then into the bank to draw the cash for Lewis's car. She getting some extra from her Account. So I can see us paying for the car. Leaving Lewis with the money he has been saving. He has been such a good lad, saving from his little Saturday Job. The money saved will come in handy for running costs of the car.

Have started bidding on an ex demonstrator mower. It's the right size for me and they send it by courier, so will save a drive.

David when we have F & C Ros always wants a bag of Batter Bits. They are very tastey, but play my indigestion up something terrible !!!

I didn't realise it was almost Mid day, I had better get my skates on and get showered and dressed. It's lovely being retired, you can do just what you want and when you want to do it. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Afternoon all

Sunny here but cold with it.

Thanks Frank for letting everyone know I had problems yesterday. I managed to get online but unfortunately couldn't get onto the thread, every time I tried I kept getting the error page and couldn't get past the first lot of pages. I tried all day but couldn't get to the end of the thread. Thankfully everything seems back to normal today.

Good luck with your bidding Frank, I hope you are lucky this time and finally get a mower that's more suitable for you. Have you sold the other one yet?
So you and Ros will be treating Lewis to his car then, he's such a lucky lad and like you said it'll leave him with his savings for other things he might need. I bet it took him ages to save what he has with only having a Saturday job, so he'll be chuffed with your help.

All these Adverts you are all talking about, I don't know any of them :-( Maybe it's because I'm the baby of the family ;-) ;-)

I did a lot of my family tree yesterday, Genes was nice to me with that part of the site LOL so I've almost finished my Australian bit. I managed to find a website for burials and cremations in Australia which gave me some birth dates as well, then there was no stopping me ;-) ;-)

I'm going to catch up with Mr Selfridge and Call the Midwife today, then maybe take another look at my tree, now I'm on a roll LOL. I've still got plenty of gaps else where on my tree to fill in, so that'll keep me busy until the warm weather gets here and I can start on my garden. How is Ros getting on with your garden Frank, has she done anymore?

Going for a cuppa now, see you all later

Hello Everyone

Just come back from taking Amy for a walk, later today, as Becky hasn't been up long and I didn't want to be out when she came downstairs. it's a beautiful day here really sunny but not very warm.

We are just watching bargain hunt I like all the antique programmes although a lot of them are repeats.

Cold chicken and salad lunch time and Chinese this evening.

I can remember as a child asking for 2p worth of crackling from the chippie.

Lewis is a lucky lad having a car for when he passes his test fingers crossed it will be first time for him.

Because of injury I sleep lying on my back. Cannot sleep on my left on my left hand side as I once did as my body weigh is then on injured leg which is painful. The quality of sleep is different lying on your back, as is the duration. One I'm awake I'm wide awake even if it's 3am. So check for e-mails and play Solitaire until Ellen wakes.

As a boy I remember on the wireless Journey into Space creepy :-0

Another lazy day, Apart from preparing Shin of Beef in the oven, (SMELLS LOVELY) Swede, carrots, Parsnips, and runner beans and mash for tonight.

Ros came back from Towcester saying NEVER AGAIN. The road was choch a block both ways. The Tesco's there doesn't have half of what she wanted, and to Crown it off The bank has closed it's branch there. After she had let of steam, I can come here and I'll give you a cuddle. She didn't even what that. !!!

She had had the machine going all afternoon. She making bags for TEDDY BEARS that a woman in the village is sending to 3rd world Countries. for the babies. She has made 15, now she's started on the childrens covers.

Glad you areback on Gill. YES you are the baby of the family. You wouldn't remember the days when we never had T.V. and relied on the radio for our entertainment, or playing in the streets or over the fields, which in the summer was from just after breakfast until tea time. Oh and what a great time we had. Not a care in the world, and no fear from NASTY MEN.

Talking about a bluebell wood. At the bottom of DRAPERS HILL (MILLMANS HILL) Mel will know where I mean. There was a wood full of bluebells that belonged to the Mental Hospital. We would go over there on a Sunday afternoon and pick armfulls to take home for mum to piut in jamjars around the house.

The sun is really bright now, so I expect a very cold night again. Ros woke in the night and out her dressing gown over her as she was cold. I said you should have cuddled up to me, as I am always HOT ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3

Yes, the error page is a nuisance Mel, isn't it? I've even had a few problems with my tree today when trying to save stuff I've written in the notes, each time I tried to save it, it wouldn't save. I closed the tree down in the end and opened it again and there it was, all the stuff I'd written........very strange. Maybe Genes are doing something to the site which is causing me these problems. Has anyone else had problems with Genes lately, or is it just me?

Got the photo this time Frank, what a lovely sunset.

I didn't realise the time and only noticed when it started going dark. I've been busy on my tree again and found all sorts to add to it. I'm almost through all the programmes I recorded as well, just watching the end of call the midwife then I'll watch Emmerdale from last night, before it's back on again later.

What a day Ros has had Frank, she's always busy doing something. Mind you I'm the same, I like to be busy and hated it when my arm was sore because I couldn't do much........I was so bored.

Well, I'd better get back to my programme before I need to start dinner.

Jane Report 16 Feb 2016 18:04

Afternoon All

Frank,Lewis is going to be over the moon with your gift for his birthday :-D :-D
Bit of a disasterous trip to Towester for Ros then :-S.No wonder she was not a happy bunny by the time she got home. All that sewing will have taken her mind of things :-)

The Pub in Cranford on the High St is the Red Lion.It seems to be doing ok at the moment with yet new managment once again. There used to be The Woolpack ,in St Andrews Lane. But that shut years ago and has been converted into a beautiful family home now. There seems to be a fair bit of work going on in Cranford, with New Thatching ,extensions etc.I think it is a lovely village.

Gill I often get the Error thing when I do a post. But I find if I click the back button and then back again to my post is says it has been added.it is very annoying though to keep getting it.The worst thread for the error page is Dermot's ..Anne I see you post often on that one so I guess you must get the same thing happening.

Mandy I bet Bunty was just pennies or at the very most a shilling.£4.99 !!!!!!!! what magazines does Katie like?.That is so expensive for a childs mag.

David I thought Lost in Space was a programme I watched on TV .A man called and a young boy.Is this the same as what you are talking about that was on the radio?

Oh to be a teenager again and sleep all morning :-D.What time did Becky finally get dressed lol.I was never allowed to slop around in my nightwear .Once up we had to get washed and dressed.I am just trying to think if we maybe had breakfast at the weekend first before dressing.I can't remember.(must ask Janice)

Well the Rabbit population must surely be going down here with the number I am sure THomas must be having. He has only had a mouthful of his own food here in the last 3 days now.I did his worm 'spot on' this morning. But he was off before I could finish doing it so I am not sure how much he has actually had on his neck.He shot out (like a scalded cat :-D ) and then when I looked out the window not even 15 minutes later I saw him strutting across the lawn with a bunny in his mouth :-S.I say strutting.it is a funny walk really .

When I started typing this I could see the garden. But now I have just looked up and it is pitch black !!!!!!!!!..
I wonder is we might get the snow tomorrow Frank? It looks like we might just be on the edge.Chris is going to a film in Northampton. Not sure what to see but whatever it is I didn't fancy it.
On Thursday afternoon we are going to the Royal Theatre(the old one next to the Derngate) to see The Herbal Bed....About Shakespeares daughter.Chris was keen,so I said I would go too.I must look up and see what it is all about !

Just out of interest......Has anyone taken or take Tumeric capsules.I have been hearing good things about Tumeric as it is a natural Anti Inflammatory. So I have bought a tub of them today to see if they may help with my hips.

Afternoon All,

Yes GOT EM Frank and a very nice sunset it was. OH has just rung from Derby and was saying how bad the traffic was. He's gone out for a meal with 3 lady managers who used to work for him!! I hope you get the mower you are bidding for. It sounds just right for you with being lighter. Poor Ros didn't have a good start to her day......fancy her refusing a cuddle.

I must start advertising some of MIL's pans. I wondered whether to keep the Judge ones as most are unused and they are good quality, but they are so heavy, even when empty, so I think I shall carry on with my cheaper stainless steel ones that I can lift easily! :-) :-)

FIL seemed a bit better yesterday as he was talking a little, but was still not eating. He is on a drip now, but today they told OH he isn't eating or drinking now and the doctor is concerned. OH is hoping to find out what they will do when he goes tomorrow.

I wonder if little Katie has worn Mandy out with cake making yet! :-) I am surprised at the price of magazines these days. The children's ones always seem to have some sort of gift inside so I suppose that puts the price up.

I nearly ran over someone at the supermarket today. :-0 He was a chap in his 20s i would say. He just walked out of the store engrossed in his mobile straight into the road and nearly under my wheels. Luckily I was crawling as cars often pull out in front of you without looking first. It shook him up as he jumped and was startled when he realised I was there and he put his hand up to apologise.

I have added turmeric to my soup for years Jane as it is supposed to help you burn fat!! I can't say the results have been startling!! lol. :-S Cranford does sound nice as you describe it.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 Feb 2016 18:32

Iv'e not heard of those Jane but a lot of the spices are good for certain things.

Frank I never knew there was a bluebell wood at the bottom of Drapers Hill. One of the boys who worked for my dad mother used to work there and she took my riding boots in for the inmates to put new soles and heels on them. They were great and never needed manding again till the leather cracked and the elastic side went and I had to have a new pair. They used to cost 3 guineas. I never forget that...........

Meant to say I have indigestion again now after my tea and cream cakes!! I think it may be toast thats doing it to me as thats all I had had when I went out and I did'nt have anything while I was out till the tea..........and cream cakes. They shall be off the list in future.

Did anyone see the Sugar Free Farm program. I watched all three last night. They were interesting and informative.

Mandy I did'nt mean to say Luke the other day I meant to ask after Jake. Have I his name right now???????

Jane, The "Journey into Space" was on the wireless in the 50's

In those days the wireless/radio was entertaining. but we nothing to compare it to.

David

David Report 16 Feb 2016 19:55

Any of you remember Rediffusion? or was that just local?

Jane

Jane Report 16 Feb 2016 20:24

David ..I just rememberd it was 'Lost in Space'..the tv programme I am thinking of.

LOL Ann..I will have to take bucket loads of the Tumeric capsules then if it supposed to be 'Fat Busting' :-S
I have also nearly come a cropper with young people on their iPhones or headphones listening to music. They are just so 'connected ' to what they are doing or listening to.They are totally oblivious to traffic :-S :-S

FIL is probably seeming a bit better now Ann because he is being hydrated. But the fact he isn't drinking or eating doesn't sound good. :-S

Annx

Annx Report 16 Feb 2016 20:56

David, I remember 'Dan Dare Pilot of the Future' on radio Luxembourg in the 50s. I think it was a comic strip in the Eagle as well. I can't remember Rediffusion although the name sounds familiar.

Yes, perhaps I haven't taken enough yet Jane!! :-)

The builder's been busy today with a steady stream of lorries down the close. They are so big and the close quite narrow that they have to reverse all along the close around a bend and then reverse out onto the busy road when they leave!! :-S Other contractors vans were parked on the main bit of the close this morning and one lorry had a right job reversing between them. They seem to be shifting loads of soil at the moment and have been starting at 7.00am this week! :-0 I must go and peep round the fence when they've gone tomorrow and see what they have been doing.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 Feb 2016 23:06

I remember Rediffusion, did'nt it come up on the telly in a sort of circle thing in the screen? Black and white in those days though.

Got my indigestion again this evening.................not nice. :-(

David

David Report 17 Feb 2016 06:35

Thank you, yes Mel, we had a switch box on the window sill. From the box you could put the TV or the radio on. We used to leave the radio on to keep the budgie company.
