Afternoon Everyone Gill I do hope your aches and sore throat clear soon ans that you are feeling back to normal again very soon. <3
Talking of books.I was an avid reader as a child especially all the Enid Blyon Books. My sister always remembers me with my head in a book .I am still the same today. Not Enid Blyton of course lol.I do like my Crime and Psychological thrillers.I love History programmes but don't read Historical books. Hannah was the same as me as a child and always had a book with her.She now runs a book club once a month as a volunteer for recovering addicts. She is quite amazed at how well they have all really got into it.She sets a book to read each month and then it is discussed.James has only really taken an interest in reading in the last few years and now reads books that are way beyond my understanding.Bit too deep for me. Chris too reads at least a couple of books a week and he has hundreds.Never gets rid of any.So you could say we are definitely a bookish family :-D
It has been such a miserable day with rain the whole time and it is still coming down. Mandy you were very lucky to have had sun and got washing out on the line.My tumble drier has been going most of the day here :-S
So a car is waiting for Lewis then Frank :-D..He will soon be driving to yours :-D,and taking you out for a run in it :-D
Chris is just back from the cinema, and wasn't that impressed with the film.It was 'Youth'.He said I would have fallen asleep so I made the right decision not to go :-D
I am quite looking forward to The Herbal Bed at the theatre tomorrow at The Royal. I do remember years ago Chris and I went to see a play there and right in the middle of one of the acts bits of the Chandelier (right above me) dropped off and landed on me !!!!!.What a shock that was ,and I shrieked !!!!..We moved seats and told someone what had happened.Apparently the Chandelier had been cleaned the day before ,so some of the crystals must have been dislodged.I will be looking up tomorrow to see if I am under another one LOL
Lovely sausages tonight from the Farm Shop in Suffolk that Chris brought back. They are good 'proper' sausages with no added water or preservatives.I must say they look really tasty.I have Parmentier Potatoes and Root Vegetable Chips to go with them.I think some mustard and Brown Sauce will be just the thing to go with everything.
David ,that is really good Ellen has lost all that weight. It must be to do with her being more active now with her new knees. I am really surprised you have not had a needs assessment before now..I am sure the loo frame will make things so much easier for you .Are you getting any other aids to help? The pain in your bum could just be from sitting or lying so long and causing pressure on the sciatic nerve.I am sure because of your mobility trouble and not being able to turn over in bed properly because of that leg there must be somethings that could help you.
I think these sausages are done so better take them out of the oven now and get the rest of the things in.

Anne I love Erica James books.I often try to find a new one to take on holiday as like you say her books are a nice easy read. That was a great buy on that coat for Becky.I do agree that a 'no logo' thing is a good idea when it comes to anything to do with school wear.Good to have an inner removable fleece as it will be a good all-round year coat for her.Was she happy with it? I have always been in favour of school uniforms.(I am sure not all school children are though :-) )
My first reading books at primary school were Janet and John :-D :-D That would have been in 1958/9

Thanks. it's not in the bum, it's the left buttock. Some times it hurts. There was a district nurse called about lunch time today. Listened to the problem, while observing. Watched me walking then sitting on WC and struggling to get back up again. Said the required frame and WC height increaser will be ordered this pm.

Been out all afternoon to Holsworthy for chicken corn and some new walking boots for oh. Topped up on bird seed and got oh some new socks in the market. They are nice warm ones with soft tops.
When I saw the weather forcast last night I saw that Mandy was going to have a nice day today. Its been dull and wet today all day must be the same as Frank has had. We did have a beautiful sunset though even though we had'nt seen it all day. I took a pic but it did'nt come out as orange as it looked out the window. It shone an orange square on the bedroom wall where it was shining through the window. It has stopped raining now but its very cold.
I hope you feel better tomorrow Gill. Perhaps a good nights rest and sleep will make a difference for tomorrow and you feel better.
Lewis is going to love his new first car Frank. Is he going to have that thing in the car that keep tabs on you when you are a new driver? Our friends son has that in his car.
Signing out now so see you all in the morning.

Morning all,
we have sunshine today but with showers. The water tray for the birds is frozen so its still cold out there.
When I arose and looked out the back window in the bedroom there were two little roe deer feeding just outside. I watched them for a little while and think they may have been eating the daisies. There's loads of them flowering out the back of the bungalow where the chickens used to be and oh spray it for weeds earlier last year but they all came back over the wet summer.

Morning Sunbeams Evening Kim,
SUNSHINE from wall to wall. Looks very cold out there. Even though I haven't put my nose out yet ;-) ;-)
Since having my Kindle I have read more then ever. I did rread the "VET" series, which was on T.V. It was so light reading, that I would get into one, and had a job to put it down.
Jane you were lucky it was only a Crystal. What you you have done if it was the whole lot :-( :-( :-(
I ordered FOUR bottles of Fairy POWER SPRAY on line last night, It was here this morning. Tesco no longer stock it, by what Ros was told yesterday. We fing it great for burnt on dishes. I will be sending my views to Customer Services !!!
David, When I had my knee operated on years ago. and then my stroke. They supplied my with lots of bits, including raising my armchair, which I found to be great.
Yes, the Car is ready for the off. Ros has drawn the CASH out for it. So he can go with his M & D and L plates and drive it home "Watch out LEWIS in about" He will now need to pass his test in April (FINGERS CROSSED) then provided he comes up the back roads he can come to see us.
I think they are looking into thelittle box thingy. It suppose to help with insurance premiums ??
Trust Gill had a good night., and feeling a little better this morning.
Mel You are so lucky seeing Roe deer in the garden when you wake up. All I have is ROS ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3 <3 (I DIDN'T SAY THAT) !!!
Ros is off to post something back that doesn't fit, and to buy her case..
Will have to see where I can sell them, or they will be on there way to the Charity shop.

It is nice to see them feeding close to the house and I don't mind when they are in the back feild which is just rough but when they eat my border thats the time I don't like them. One wa just outside the kitchen window the other day eating the rose bush by the bird feeder. that was a little male and he is just growing this years antlers and they are all fluffy with down.
Frank you did make me laugh when you said all you have to wake up and see is Ros. Your lucky I never wake up and see oh unles he comes and wakes me up as he gets up about 4amish.
Poor Gill I do hope she feels a bit better today. These things take a long time to go sometimes.
Hope Jane enjoys the play today and I know she will enjoy her lunch out.
Suns still out here but we have had a short sharp shower just as I got back from feeding the chickens and banties and the wild birds.
One lot of washing out and I am now washing oh's dressing gown.

Lovely morning here too. OH in the garden re doing some of the chain link we put up when Cas was a puppy. She's not into digging anymore so we can put things back to normal!! She comes back straight away when she's called, and doesn't wander out of the garden or through the hedge anymore. We're able to take her away with us for the day or to stay as she's so little trouble that she is always welcome. All that early training, although it was hard work, has certainly paid off!!! Goodness Mel! Forgive me but why does your OH get up so early?!! What with you going to bed late and his early rising, you must hardly meet up at night at all!!! Made some homemade soup in the slow cooker for lunch so better go and liquidise it!

Who want's some FAIRY POWER CLEANER ???? I was looking around on line for it. Amerzon had 4 for £7.00. when I went to the checkout it was plus £4.45 P & P so I didn't bother. Went on to Ebay and found four for £8.45 inc Free P & P so bought that. This morning a delivery from Amerzon with free P & P. So I tried to cancl the other order, but that has been dispatched. So will have 8 bottles by the weekend ;-) ;-) ;-) Will need to burn some pots, to that lot up. <3 <3
Mel I got the dreaded ERROR page trying to get on here. Lets hope it goes through. I sent you the NASA photo's again this morning so hope they arrived.
Just been looking to see what CABIN BAGS are fetching on Ebay. NEW from £7.99 free p & p. up to£45.00 for designer ones. So ours are sure to end up at the charity shop, when Ros next goes by it. She will be able to take the books back as well as I am almost finished the 2nd.
Still bliliant sunshine here and Ros said it's not cold out.
Enjoy the stage play this afternoon Jane, I haven't been there for years. The last one I saw was "CIDER WITH ROSEY" 1990s

Afternoon All,
Wall to wall sunshine here and I must say it has perked me up a bit! :-)
Mel, we will be watching Dr Thorne. OH has all the Anthony Trollope novels as he is a big fan and has read most of them more than once. I often ask if he is going to bed with a trollope!!! lol. It seems funny to me now to see the surname Thorne as it was my first married surname for 25 years!! Sometimes I still almost write it when signing things.
I hope you soon start to feel better Gill. You are probably best to get as much sleep and rest as you can for now. We were shocked to see in the local paper that there is an outbreak of Swine Flu at the hospital where FIL is a patient. I think they have closed some wards. OH has gone there now to see his dad. They have tried feeding him but he can't keep food down so OH is waiting just now for the doctor who has asked to see him. Yesterday he thought he was in a garage and that he lived with OH in the country and was talking about his 2 brothers as if they were still alive. Today it will probably be totally different stories with no memory of yesterday. It is so sad in some ways, but in other ways his dementia means he forgets any pain or falls he has had and he thinks he is just fine and can still get up and walk about.
Anne, you found a real bargain there with Becky's coat!
I hope you enjoy your play today Jane and that that you won't need a tin hat! I remember going to the Derngate years ago with OH but can't remember what we saw........I bet he will though!
One of his ladies didn't turn up for the meal the other night. She'd just got back from Australia and was to ill to even get up! Hearing the things that were going on at work now made OH even more glad that he finished when he did. One of the ladies has a very bright daughter who seemed to pass every exam ahead of time and is now working to qualify as a lawyer. She took a year out before she started her job and travelled all over the world, staying with friends and meeting up with friends in different countries. How exciting to be young with all the opportunities there are nowadays and have the money and confidence to be able to take advantage of them. :-)
Frank, surely someone would make you an offer for your cases. Why not try a post card in a local shop before you give them away.
The carvery in the new pub that was built last year that had to close because people became ill but it was proved that it didn't come from there closed again voluntarily a few weeks ago while they had work done on their drains. They opened again this week so we went today as we knew it would be quiet which is how we like it. They are obviously taking no chances with anything, although everything has always looked spotlessly clean and the food piping hot. OH said in the toilets there is an anti bacterial spray fixed to the door that sprays onto the door handle. I've never seen that anywhere before.
Our neighbour has taken to parking his car at the bottom of his drive since the builder has started on the houses, presumably to stop them and the lorries backing onto his drive to turn around. I've just noticed someone fixing something to his garage wall at the top of the drive and it looks a lot like a surveillance camera to me. It's not a bad idea as I'm sure when people are out, their drives will be used for turning. It will be same when visitors come to the new houses when they are built, including our drive which is wider than next door's. How shortsighted and stupid they were to allow the plans. The lorries that are coming past on the private road are massive and I'm sure the road isn't up to their weight. The builder is supposed to redo the road after but I'm not holding my breath. We still don't know what the position is re maintaining the road after the houses are built. We haven't been told that they will share any cost with us 4 bungalows. :-S
If OH sees the doctor in time to get back we are going to see the Dad's Army film, but it isn't looking hopeful.

Oh Ann. These Bl###y builders are causing more trouble than enough. What a good idea to put up camera's at least they will show what's going on and if any damage is done to the garden or property. I don't think these camera's are that expensice. So it might be a good idea if you all had them ;-) ;-) ;-)
It's not good news about your FIL. Poor old chap. Not much for him to do now, but to lay in bed with his own thoughts.. My thoughts are with him. !!!
Ros has made TWO blankers/covers today. Very nice they look too. She is just starting her third.
I have about 30 pages left of my book, then they can go back to the C.shop.
Choir practice for Madam this evening, so I will be "HOME ALONE" It will give me a chance to go Channel hopping lol with ni interuptions. <3 <3 <3 I will be a good boy and record her Soaps, so she can watch them after I go to bed.

There's not much wind out there but when the air hits your face its bitterly cold.
Just going to let the banties out for a bit of a stretch and corn them.

Frank you got a bargain with the Fairy Power they will last you a long time if you don't burn to many pans !! :-D

Gill, If you're looking in, have you tried going onto Roots chat for your research? I've done really well on that site, it's free, which is good! and full of very helpful people who are willing to find out all sorts for you. You can pick the area you are particularly interested in, and just type in any queries and someone will certainly answer you with relevant help. I got to the bottom of an illegitimate g.g.grandparent who had been evading me for ages. Might be worth a whirl!! Been lovely day here, OH has been putting Cas through her paces in the field at the back of us, and we're now going to have cuppa.
