Good Evening All
I haven't done much today as for some reason Iv'e been tired all day,Amy had her walk and I cooked a stir fry for the evening meal but that was all. Jane goulash should go down well with your two just the thing for this time of the year,
I hope Gill is starting to feel better but flue can last a long time not like a cold.
Becky went back yesterday afternoon as she had homework to do plus Abbie was due back with her boyfriend. Sue, her mother picked her up but didn't come to the door just texted Becky when she was outside. Becky wore her new coat and looked very nice in it.. I will see Becky again for Sunday dinner when she comes with Paul, Abbie will only come if Aiden has gone back to Dorchester.
Ann I hope your F.I.L. is comfortable and back in the care home soon. When Peter was in his final days they asked me where I would prefer him to be Hospital, Hospice or the care home which I chose the home for him as he was so well looked after there or though he didn't know where he was by then, I also had to sign a form regarding resuscitation which was very upsetting for me but it didn't come to that anyway. He was only about the age I am now.
Frank good luck with the mower but sometimes offers on Amazon can work out cheaper.
We have had a cold day again, sunshine rain and frost and at one time sun and rain together so a lovely rainbow.
David I hope you don't have to wait too long for news about you being able to drive again.

Thank you all for your interest and concern. DVLA could use their time in their search efficiently if they approach the hospital where I last received the attention of a consultant orthopaedic surgeon. All my numbers and history are on his records, which in 2016 are linked to everyone elses. Just have to think positive and wait and see.

Morning Jane and All, Evening Kim,
Started off with sunshine, but clouding over now, they do say rain later today.
Well I got my MOWER. £40.01 It's an ex demo and the photo's look like it's new. They say it has only been used TWICE. A new model in B & Q would be close to £120.00 so a good saving, now to get rid of the other one !!! When it arrives I will try to get the lawns cut, as they need it.
We had Steak and Kidney pie last night which was lovely, but the pastry played me up all evening. I must stop eating it :-( :-( :-(
Ann and Jane, Don't forget to let me know when you are meeting up. I would like to join you both if Ros is free to bring me. Provided I won't be in the way ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D
Still no Gill then, I hope she hasn't had to take to her bed. Her OH will have his hands full working and looking after the household.
Anne, I find that I am doing nothing from day to day, I haven't been out of the house since last Saturday lunchtime. I'm not sure I even want to go out today. I will hopefully go out tomorrow as West Ham are playing in the cup at 2.00 pm.
Ros is late going shopping this morning, as Martine has to go out early to find a new Freezer. Hers has packed up.
Hope you all enjoy your day, and behave yourselves

Good morning everyone.
Last nights snow didn't come to anything at the moment it's cold , windy and wet so nothing different there. Same as Mel I would like it to be clear and frosty.
I was up at 8o/c my usual weekend time. I have just cooked Richard a big late breakfast and he has now gone to the cinema with one of his ex workmates. It's good that both Paul and Richard have lots of friends, Mark of course having Aspergers is so different but he seems happy enough with his life in Hastings.
I am just trying to get some ooph to clean the bathroom and downstairs cloak room now I have the house to myself. I washed Richards work clothes and now have all the towels in the machine, tumble dryer is in full use now
That was a real bargain you got with the mower Frank.
Gill I hope you are starting to feel better now but don't go over doing it like you have been lately, remember you are your own boss :-D :-D

Hi to Anne. Your pic of the cat is just like my old Pud Wood, he was ginger and white and short haired. My son brought two kittens home in a crisp box when he had a corona round. He said the family he called on had two little children that were pulling them about and picking them up by their heads. We had a pet shop at the time and I thought I would sell them in there but he had other plans as they were HIS. I said you can look after them then and pay for their feed. It did'nt happen as you can imagine but we kept them. The little girl Pus Woos had kittens and we found home for all but one which we kept and then mum got run over outside our cottage. I brought Pud Wood and Dizzy down to Devon when we moved. I had the parrot on the front seat of my car and the two cats in a basket in the back.

Hi Mel the photo was of Timmy the cat we just lost a couple of weeks ago, its one Richard took of him when he was well, Toby is also ginger and has identical markings while his sister is like patchwork white background with patches of, black, ginger and tortoise shell. This photo of Timmy was taken on the upstairs landing by the long window so his face is half in the shade. I had to smile at you having a parrot in vour car was he a talkative one? When I worked at the Arts Centre Nigel, the marketing Manager used to walk around with a wooden parrot on his shoulder.
I have just put bleach down the loos so must start cleaning properly now before I have my lunch which is vegetable soup, a wholemeal roll followed by my usual avocado. We will be having cottage pie later with runner beans & carrots,

I have just looked at my keyboard, deeply!!! I can't believe how much crud gets under the keys. It must come from my finger nails I suppose as I don't really eat things at the pc.

Afternoon all,
Dull and cloudy here today and not so cold ,no rain so far ,i think we should have some later in the day .
Frank what a bargain you got with the mower ,you'll be well away now all you need is some nice dry days and you can get out and get your lawn cut.
Mel my keyboard gets bits in behind the keys too ,some times i hit he key and you can feel some thing behind it stopping the key going down properly .
We had Chelsea for the day yesterday ,she wanted to make cakes ,well we made Chocolate flap jacks from a recipe i found on line ,they were terrible all crumbly and they didn't taste to good either so they went in the bin !! We then made Lemon buns which we've made before and Malteser Cake no baking on that one just a lot of mixing ,but it was so sickly just a tiny piece was enough for me . She then had a go at Cross stitch which she really loved doing she spent most of the afternoon doing it ,she now says Nanny all i want for my birthday is crossing stuff as i love it .
Not a lot happening here ,we had home made parsnip soup for lunch and there's enough Shepherds pie from yesterday for tonight just done a few more veg so that's a nice easy meal for tonight .
Gill hope your feeling better today .
Anne that's a lovely photo of your dear Timmy , he looks a bit cross as if he didn't like having his photo taken though :-)
Ann, hope FIL is comfortable and not in any pain ,getting him back to the home might help to settle him a bit ,poor old chap has had some moves just lately from one place to another .

LOL I love Timmy's look Anne..He looks like is saying" What do you think you are looking at" :-D..I had a lovely old big Ginger Tom called Jerry. He just walked in off the street one day when I shared a house with load of Veterinary Nurses. He was so skinny and he actually sat up and begged.Well that did it for me.I had him for many years. My Parents had him for a year when I was working in Greece and then when I came home and had a job as a Nanny at 'The big House' I was allowed to have him there. They even put a cat flap in the back door of the Nursery for him.He loved to sleep in the airing cupboard !! My Sister had a Ginger called Timmy too.But sadly like your Timmy he died very young :-(
Well you got the mower then Frank :-D..That is a brilliant price. You will soon be zipping up and down the lawn with it :-D
Chris has gone to PC World in Northampton .I don't know what for.I have done another load of that Beef Goulsah that I did yesterday. There wasn't enough left for the 2 of us but I had some spare beef .So that will be us sorted tonight.I have a feeling though I might have overdone the Paprika !!.I had a little taste just now and now my lips are tingling :-S
Next door has just had another mammouth bonfire.Bits of whatever have been landing in the garden.Gawd knows what he burns.
Mandy you had a busy baking day then yesterday.Shame about the Chocolate Flapjacks.I bet you were glad to sit down at the end of the day :-D
Mel am I right in thinking you also took a goat down to devon in your car? Or have I dreamt that !!!
Yes Frank we must make a date for You me and Ann to meet up.We will have to work out the best location.
Have you done your loos Anne? I did all ours yesterday .I hate the smell of strong bleach. It seems to permeate the whole house.I do love the smell of disinfectant though.I use that for Thomas's litter tray. Not that he uses it that much.
Ann ,I have noticed a few houses with surveillance cameras on houses.I think it is becoming more common these days.
Chris has just got back so it is time for a cuppa.

Jane no I did'nt bring the goats down here. I had to leave them with a friend as mum would'nt have them down here. shame because there's a nice goat shed outside the big wall. I used to take them to the pet shop in the back of the car and bring them home on the back seat until my then oh built them a stable at the back of the shop. They were called Katie and Barny. White Saanens and only hours old when I had them. I saved them from the freezer. The vet said I would'nt raise them but I did and proved him wrong.

Mel during the war I had a pet goat called Bustle when Mum and I lived with my great aunt Kate at Watersland. I was told two of the young kids were given to the pets corner at London Zoo. What with all the chickens, ducks, geese and angora rabbits and our fox terrier Mike it was an ideal place for a child to live. I much prefer the country to live in if it were possible.

So I wasn't "quite wrong' about Goats then Mel.I just seemed to remember you mentioning them way way back in the early days of this thread. Love the name Bustle Ann. I think it is sad that so many children nowadays never get to see the countryside with all these lovely animals. When our 2 were little we had a little girl from London to stay with us for 2 weeks. It was through a charity where children from disadvantaged families were given the chance of a holiday. Our little girl was 5 yrs old and called Letticia,She arrived with barely a change of clothing, and was so scared. We took her to one of these family farm places and she had no idea as to the names of the animals. It was very sad .She didn't know what was a goat or a pig etc.She just loved the experience of seeing these 'real' animals .It still makes me feel teary even now thinking about her.She didn't want to 'go home' While she was with us she had a bubble bath, Dairylea Cheese,Marmite, played with Barbie Dolls, rode a tricycle ,played in a garden .So many things she had never experienced. It was terrible the day I had to take her to the coach to take her back to London. She hung on like a limpet .It was just so emotional .I didn't want her to go back to the life I knew she was going back to. I have often wondered how her life has been .She would be about 30 now. And I do wonder she ever remembers her time with us..I would like to think she remembers going to that Family Farm :-D
Just spoke to Hannah..She is on her way to Tate Britain for Fashion Week /Fashion Show. One of her housemates works for a big Designer Name so has tickets !!!..Sounds like a great night out :-D

Oh Jane that is so sad to think she had never seen any animals , i should think she would remember at that age being with you and doing all the lovely things with the family , i can quite understand you being upset wondering what she was she was going back to i think i would have been too.
Hannah gets out and about doesn't she , there's bound to be some stars there of some sort or other , you might see some photos :-D
The wind seems to have really got up here now,we had a few spits of rain earlier but i haven't looked out since it got dark.

Jane it made me feel very sad reading about your little visitor, I'm sure she would remember the happy weeks she spent with your family, lets hope her adult life turned a corner for her after seeing what life should be like.
I'm just watching the Great canal journeys on channel 4, it's a repeat but we haven't seen this episode before after it is Penelope Keith's hidden villages this time in Cumbria.
Can't stand Ant & Dec and have never watched The Voice.
Just read the sad news that Paul Daniels has been diagnosed with a fatal brain tumour which was what Peter had not a nice way to go. He lives not too far from here in Wargrave on the river we used to pass there when we went to Henley on Thames.

I don't think Letticia would have had a very happy childhood .It had been pretty grim before she came to us.In one way I was so pleased we gave her the chance of having a happy couple of weeks ,but then knowing what kind of life she was going back to made me wonder if it was the right thing to do .A bit like giving her something that she might never have again. She was a bed wetter(which we already knew ) as we were asked if we were prepared to take a child who wet the bed)..I found her trying to strip her bed the first morning (as she had wet it) and she thought I was going to beat her !!!!!..I could have cried :-(
Anne I saw that too about Paul Daniels..I am sure seeing that must bring back some upsetting memories for you :-( Another sad thing too I hear today is that Denise Robertson (agony aunt) has Pancreatic Cancer :-( ) She is such a lovely lady .I just hope the treatment she is starting will help her.But somehow I can't see her coming back to morning tv.
I am loving the Canal Journeys with Timothy West and Prunella.
