I'm sure that little girl would remember you now Jane. It would have made such an impression on her after her stay with your family. It must have been a wrench to see her going back to her sad life. I would have wanted to keep in touch, but I don't expect her parents would have been happy with that. Oh no not another leak!!!!! Your lounge ceiling has a brown stain just like ours now then!!! :-S I bet Larry is relieved to be back home. Hopefully his mum will accept the help that's been arranged.

Glad to see you are on the mend Gill. You need to let your body get strong again before you are tempted to do too much now. I find taking a glass of water with a drop of honey and lemon juice in it to bed helps with any night time tickly coughs.
:-) I hope the couple like your place after another viewing, they obviously like the location.

Shame about the cooking with Chelsea Mandy, but she's taken to the cross stitch hasn't she!

Same weather when I look out the window, wet and windy.

I had an email from Liz who will be back soon as her sub has run out.

This is what she wrote.

I thought my sub ran out on the 28th, but it was the 18th!! So instead of having plenty of time to alter the on/off, I ran out of time. I will renew, but probably not till next month, to get a bit longer the other end!

So thats why we hav'nt heard from our Liz. I was getting worried.

Love to Gill and hope she is well on the way to recovery now and I hope her hubby has'nt caught it too so she has him to look after now.

Morning Ladies and Gentlemen, Evening to Kim,

Well what a C##k up yesterday. I turned the tele on to BT SPORT 2 and it's a pay channel. Good job I was dressed, Ros took me down the pub, I only missed the first few minutes. I had arranged to meet her at 3.45 pm in the car park, when the match finished. Being a good husband I was there on the dot. There was 3 minutes injury time which I missed and W.H scored another goal. So we won 5- 1

We had a reasonable Roast beef with the trimmings and this other place we have found, but not as good as the Carvery. So won't be rushing back for Sunday Lunch/Dinner.

What a lovely surprise you had Jane. I bet you can't wait for Friday to come to see the family. What hAS CAUSED THE LEEK (sorry) It seems you can spring a leek when ever it takes your fancy !!!

Swede and carrot mash is one of our favourits with Shin of beef done in the oven with lovely creamy mash,

As I never cooked yesterday I will do out Sunday Roast today. Half leg of Lamb, sprinkled with Mint marinade, Roast Parsnips and potato's, Cauliflower, runner beans, carrots and brussels. Whenever we go out on Sunday, we always have a roast on Monday ;-) ;-) ;-)

I'm pleased Liz is staying with us, we can then keep up with Cassie's progress, as well as all the news that she always makes so intesting

Gill, you could try an EGG CUSTARD and a milky rice pudding. Both would go down easily and there is goodness in both.

I think Ros is goiung to attempt anhour in the garden. The green bin is full from last week, but she can borrow Tony's. I must see about getting the veg bed sorted. I haven't been down there since before Christmas. !!

Not sure what the weather will do, but it doesn't look that good.

Lovely and sunny here so OH is doing some work on the car ready for it's MOT, it's due early next month.

I kept getting the error page this morning when I tried to get to the end of the thread, so I've been reading the thread from the beginning. Lot's of names I wasn't familiar with. I got so engrossed in it I forgot to try again to get to the end. As you can see it's let me now LOL ;-) ;-)

I've had a terrible nights sleep. Didn't go to bed until after midnight as I wasn't tired with sleeping during the day, then I started coughing at 4am, so got up and had some medicine and a couple of mugs of tea. By the time the coughing subsided it was gone 6am, so I went back to bed, then started coughing again at 7am. I gave up then and got up, so now I'm shattered and still have this awful cough. My chest is so sore, along with my throat, with coughing so much.
At least the weather has made me feel good, you can't beat a bit of sunshine can you :-D :-D :-D

I feel like doing some housework but don't want to over do it incase I make myself worse, so I'm just going to take it easy and do light duties for today. OH has started with a cough now, so he has dosed himself up, hoping it kills it off before it takes a hold like mine has.

I rang the agent yesterday to let them know we can do the second viewing on Friday at 12 noon. I think they were closing at 4pm and I rang at 3.40pm so I'm expecting them to get back to me today to confirm it. At least it gives me a week to sort this place out so I can take it slowly. I've not done anything for the past week so it really needs a good hoover and polish and the windows could do with a clean as well. That's the problem with the sun it shows up all the marks on the glass :-S

I think I'll do a little pottering today, not to much, but make a start on things.

I don't like egg custard Frank but the rice pudding sounds nice. I think my throat is sore because of all the coughing as it starts to feel a bit better once I stop coughing for a while. I managed some mash, sausages and baked beans last night, that was the first properly meal I've had since Sunday lunch a week yesterday. We are having a roast chicken today as OH is off, I won't be able to manage roast potatoes so will have some more mash with mine. I'm starting to feel much better and would be okay if this cough would hurry up and go. I'm quite tired with it all now and want my life back :-) :-)

Going to get a cuppa now then put a load of washing on, the weather is so nice it should dry on the line quite quickly, then I'm going to clean the living room window and ask OH if he can do the outside for me.

Sorry to read you had a bad night Gill. Try a whisky at bed time ;-) or Horlicks

Loan equipment were here an hour ago, brought the wrong frame for around the WC
He says the district nurse who assessed my need for it ordered the wrong one :-\ :-S

Yes this cough is starting to get me down now. It just doesn't want to ease up. I might have to go to the doctors incase I have an infection and get some antibiotics. Shall give them a ring in the morning if it's no better.

Just had the agent on the phone and have another viewing for Friday now, from an investor, so if she wants it I'm expecting a silly offer........time will tell I suppose.

We have the sunshine as well Gill. Valerie next door has just come out to do a bit in the front garden, where Ros is at the moment. I popped out to see if Ros wanted a COT and Val said she would like one as well. She even bought a chair out and put it on our lawn. There are the pair of them GASSING away drinking their teas. I have taken a Photo, that they don't know about. !!! ;-) ;-) ;-)

Leg of lamb in the oven on 120 c It will tick along nicely and the meat will or should fall of the bone by 6.00 pm. I will part boil the potato's later ready to go in the oven.

I have just had a call from Tesco's Customer Services. regarding the Fairy Power Spray. It looks like they are discontinuing it from their shelves. He tells me, they are taking a lot of lines from the shelves, so they must have to many to display. !!!

Gill, Two viewing again this week. Well done ;-) ;-) Lets hope one of them decides to buy. What will you do if you get an offer. ?? Last week you were taking of extentions and staying where you are !! One of these days you will meet yourself coming back as the saying goes :-D :-D :-D

A fried round the corner has had a Stroke. It's affected his left side, but not affected his face or speach. Sounds a bit like mine, he has started therapy, so showing sighns of improvement. His wife isn't sure when he will be home.

Loads of washing done this morning by Madam, some is on the line sheets and pillow cases in the T.D. they are flanneletts, and will just be folded up and put away. Three of my dressing gowns (cotton) are blowing in the wind. Since the last whites wash a few days ago, I have got through a dozen hankies. I always make sure I have a clean one everyday, always have done, and no doubt I always will <3 <3 <3

I don't think Valerie will be doing any gardening, she is atill sitting on her chair watching Ros do the borders, and planting little daffs that are just starting to open. She bought them in little pots on Saturday from Morrisons.

Some black clouds are starting to form, so I will check on the washing.

Pub tonight, Cuo match. Whoever wins tonight play us in thr next round. Either MAN UTD or SHREWSBURY. I think we would like Shrewsbury to win tonight. Well ME !!!

You are thoughtful Frank, my OH would never think to bring the washing in if it looked like rain, he'd wait until it actually rained and then tell me it's raining.
I'd like to move to the next village as that is where the shops are, I've found a detached bungalow which needs a bit of work doing on it so if this place sells then we'll probably buy that one, if it doesn't sell then we'll do the extension and stay here. It all depends on weather it sells or not. Sandra and I are housebound here as it's to far for me to walk to the next village, so if we moved there we'd be able to get out and about as there's nothing for us to do here. So for us it would be nice if this place sells.

Well, you've got some competition Frank, I've just had a fall and to top it all off I've got a migraine. I tripped on the step going from the kitchen to the living room, just like the lady did, who came to view, it doesn't half hurt. My knee took most of the fall but I banged my head as well, hence the headache. OH and Sandra were out at the time. Luckily I'm ok and will get over the embarrassment soon enough LOL.

I've taken the sofa covers off and washed them thinking I would peg them out on the line and the heaven opened, the sun has come back out but I'm not going to chance it as there are still quite a few black clouds around, they can go in the dryer on a low heat instead.

I managed to get some washing dry but not as much as I was hoping for. I hope OH managed to spray the car earlier after he filled it, as the filler isn't waterproof, at least I don't think it is and we don't want it coming out. I've just asked him and he said he did it and it was fine. So that's one less job for the MOT, the next job is to have a day out somewhere quite far so we can get the emission up, we had problems with it last year because we don't use the car very much, so it'll need doing again this year.

He'll book it in for a pre MOT a week before it's due, just incase there is anything else that needs doing, he thinks the exhaust need sorting out, so if it needs doing the garage can do that as OH doesn't have the time or the tools to do it himself. We've just packed most of his tools away when we emptied the garage.

Well, I'd better go and put the chicken on, I'm starting to get hungry now and it takes about an hour and half to cook. Your lamb sounds nice Frank <3 Hope Shrewsbury win, so your West Ham don't have to play Man U.
It's just started pouring down again and looks like it's going to be here for a while yet :-( :-( :-( so all my washing will have to go in the dryer after all. The winds picked up too. Well the sun was nice while it lasts.

Lamb all cooked, when I lifted it out of the roaster the bone feel off the end. It's wrapped up in tin foil resting. When I do the roasts and pudding it can go in the bottom of the oven to warm. It smells divine. I think Ros will go picking if I don't watch her ;-) ;-)

Everything is dry and folded up ready for Ros to iron tomorrow.

My right hip is giving me a bit of jip, I hope that's not going to play up too much, as I don't want to have it replaced. What with that and my lefy knee, I feel ready for the knackers yard :-( :-( :-(

Where are you all today. I expect you will all be chattering away, while I am at the pub this evening.

Made a load of Scotch Pancakes this afternoon and we had some with our COT and COC.

Still waiting for the plumber :-S I just rang up to make sure we are still on the list and we are.(so they say) .I hope so as we can't use the sink in the bathroom and all the carpet is pulled back.6pm is the latest time we were given.

We are both grumpy today :-S.So are tending to stay out of eachothers way.That is the best way as I don't want to get snappy.
Tomorrow I am off to a different cinema with Fitz to see'Room' It is at Weston Favell.Then I think we might have lunch at the 'Aviator' by the little Sywell airport.
It is also Chris's day for lunch out with Sue (from work) So no cooking tomorrow.I have got James a Beef Stroganoff which will just need to go in the oven.

Oh Gill,it seems like you have been a busy bee today..Naughty girl :-S..Maybe your fall on the step was because you are stiill a bit weak and wabbit.It sounded like a nasty tumble.
Wouldn't it be good if you could move to the next village .At least then you and Sandra would be able to get out and about ,maybe find something you could join and meet some people.I will keep my fingers crossed that one of your viewings will be a successful one .It has to happen sometime :-D

Frank it must be a 'hippy' day.as mine have been giving me gyp too today.Must be something in the air. Fancy managing to get a pic of Ros and Val without them knowing :-).Chris hates it when I do that and Fitz gets very cross if anyone takes his without him knowing.I had done it a few times but he caught me out a couple of times .I won't do that again LOL

I hope your friend recovers well from his stroke Frank.I suppose one good thing (if you can say good) is that his speech hasn't been affected.

It dos'nt like sending the video to more than a couple of addresses and I did'nt think it had gone at all but Mandy commented on it so it must have gone to some. The first one I sent to just Gill for Sandra to se but they take about 25 mins to load. That time I had gone and fed all the chicke ns and muddled about and when I got back in it had loaded. So if anyone can forward it to Jane and anyone else that has'nt seen it, Thank you.

Just going to start the dinner. Chicken casserole the quick way in a soup. Rice for him and mash for me.

Been a lovely sunny day here but the temp has now dropped and it feels as if there will be a frost tonight .

I banged my right knee this morning ,i was only stepping through the doorway and some how gave my knee such a wallop on the door frame :-0 it nearly took my breath away and made me feel quite sick and light headed ,now its so sore .

Gill don't try doing to much all at once or you will make yourself poorly again , there's nothing worse than that tickly cough in the night ,it breaks up your sleep and you feel lousy then during the day ,i hope you feel better tomorrow .
Fingers crossed the people coming back on friday have had a rethink on your property ,maybe the lady has got her own way as i think you said she liked your place .

Frank is your hip playing up because you've been on the steps ? you said the other day you had a couple of jobs on the steps perhaps its the climbing that's upset it.

Plumber here :-D :-D.He has spent about 20 minutes talking and is just about to start the job.Leaky bit in the bend or something.He is just looking in his van for the right parts.Knowing our luck it won't be straightforward .
I can't get Thomas in .He has been gone for hours and hours...Is it a full moon tonight?
It looks like it could be.

I knew it wouldn't be straight forward !!!!!!!!!!!!.He hasn't got the right part so has now gone to Wellinborough to get whatever he needs .So he won't get back here now for at least 50 minutes .
I think I will leave Chris to stay up and deal with things as I want to go to bed.Thomas still out
