Morning all
Sunny today but very cold after a frosted start.
That was late for the plumber Jane, at least it's sorted now so you can order your new carpet.
Pleased to hear you have what you need now David. Enjoy your new thrown :-D ;-)
Hope you have a better day today than yesterday Frank. Glad you didn't have any accidents on the steps.
Not another fall for FIL Ann? I think the others are right they should have the bed guards up and something on the chairs, after all they all know he falls don't they? Hope he's settled back at the home now, with no more falls <3
Sorry to hear about Neil's stroke Mandy and his heart condition. Although a stroke isn't good in his case it brought attention to his heart problem which can now be fixed, so in a way it was a good thing. If that's the right way to put it. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
I wonder what it is your OH is making Mel, maybe it's something special for you. I'm sure you'll soon find out :-) :-)
I've changed my picture and put one up of our Rosie looking through our living room window waiting for her food.......the cheeky little thing ;-) ;-)
I was so busy yesterday getting this place ready for the viewings I've got on Friday and Saturday. We now have three in total, all in a position to buy. I tried to look at the bungalow in the next village I had my eye on, but it's been sold :-( :-(. Never mind I'm sure they'll be more and we have to sell this place first. I'm getting used to people viewing and it not going any further, so a sale would be a good start :-)
I'm going to try and have a sleep, I've still got this annoying cough and it kept me awake every 10 minutes last night, so now I'm absolutely shattered, so glad I did all the housework yesterday as I haven't got the energy to do anything today.

It's just started raining, so much for the sun, it didn't stick around for long. Good job OH got the lawns cut yesterday and sorted out the plants. Now the garden looks good for the viewings. So much for me trying to have a little sleep, my phone hasn't stopped today. I might try again later :-)
Going to get a drink, that might help me stop coughing.
What is everyone else up to today. Have you managed to cut your lawns yet Frank?

Morning All
Well it appears my hip joints aren't arthritic. It is something in the bone.Alteration in bone pattern especially around the left upper femur. So for now it is lots more blood tests(tomorrow) and then take it from there.
The sun is shining here and it is a lovely day..Sorry you have rain Gill !!! I have just putt out washing. We were going to go to see the film Spotlight in Northampton this afternoon but it is too nice ot be stuck in the cinema .
As the sun is shining Frank I have a feeling it will be a good day for you today :-D :-D
Ann,I am so shocked that your FIL had no sides up on his hospital bed.Especially at night time.As for chairs with fixed trays that go across the front of the patient I am not sure is they are allowed these days.I seem to remember my sisiter saying it was something to do with restraining patients and the rules had changed.I might have imagined the of course !
Just having a cup of coffee and then i am going ot nip out for more bird food and see about finding a present for little baby Freya for Friday. :-D

I don't know whether thats a good thing or not Jane?? Is it to do with the little holes we have in our bones? Is there anything they can do for you or give you for the pain?
I should really go to the docs with my left one. After pushing the shopping trolley on a Tuesday my left hip gives me pain and if I sit too long on certain chairs it does it too. Can hardly get up the steps to the back patio sometimes. I suppose these things are sent to try us!! We don't like this getting old business do we girls and guys? :-S :-( :-0 :-S :-( :-0 :-S :-( :-0
WEll I found out what oh was doing yesterday and it was'nt sopmething nice for me but in a way it is. He was rewiring the electric fence boxes in the shed and not he is getting rid of the coils of wire we had across the decking to the earth rod. So tidying up really which can't be bad and at least he is outside instead of sitting at the pc screen all day.

Morning just, so will say Afternoon to you all,
Still not got the lights to work in the porch. All new downlights fitted, fuse box checked, but still nothing. It might be a fuse in the wireing in the ceiling. No chance of me fixing that, so I will need an Electrician.
Have been down and put out Lard balls and meal worms for the birds. So they will be happy.
Ros is in the front garden carrying on from Monday. I am waiting fot the new mower to arrive so I can get the lawns cut. I will be pleased to see the lines in my back lawn and the edges all trimmed and tidy. It will start to look like SPRING !!
These fallings will the FIL just shouldn't happen. With my Day almost SIXTY YEARS AGO they had beds with sides, so there shouldn't be any excuse for not looking after him. I hope Gordon has strict words with the staff. After all it's fot their benefit as well as FIL to stop him falling out of bed.
Glad you are feeling a little better Gill. Just take things easy for a few days..
Be careful asking OH what he is making. It might be something you don't want LIKE A COFFIN ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3 <3 With his sense of humour it could be something like that :-D :-D :-( :-( :-(
John and Carolyn Skyped this morning. Bragging about having to wear shorts and T shirts all day every day. I said we were minus 5 degrees last night, and that I was kepping it that way for when they get back next week. ;-) ;-) That soon shut them up. !!!
You always aeem to be out and about Jane. Cinema two days running ?? You should be out in the fresh air ;-) ;-) ;-)
I got Will's message regarding his email address. and sent him a funny this morning
I have finally got Ros's proof of NCD from her previous insurers. That will be in the post to the new insurers today.
Just waiting to hear from the garage, when they can fit the New Spring to the car. MORE EXPENCE. I see on the MOT Failure that they have advised that the TWO BACK TYRES are going like the N/S front one they fail. So will have to see about getting those replaced also. Their explanation is that as the car only does 5,000 miles a year. The rubbed dissintergrates between the tread. Who ever thought that one up I dion't know. When I explained that all four tyres were fitted by them two years ago. He said. Well it's not our fault.

Well, I couldn't keep away, so here I am, back again!! It's such a lovely day, so I'm sitting outside on the little balcony outside our back door. Cas is playing with her ring that you gave her Mel. She is much easier this year and while the ring keeps her amused I can either read or sunbathe!! OH is spreading fertilizer on the veg patch, and I've just had an email from sons partner to say that she's calling in next Tuesday on her way home from Bristol to see us! So we're really looking forward to that.

Good afternoon all
Bright and sunny again here today. I've walked Amy and then out in the garden again but as it was a lot colder than yesterday I wasn't out there for too long as the ground was quite frosty still. I have also ironed what I put in the washing machine earlier.
Good to see you back Liz, you have been missed
Jane I hope you enjoy the film. Your friend who is visiting on Friday has the same career as my friend Ann's daughter she has been in the foreign office since leaving the university of Kent with a degree in modern languages. She did 4 years in Washington a few years ago and just finished 4 years in Oman, her next posting will see her in Dubai but she will be overseeing a larger area involving parts of Africa. She is in her 40's now and her name is Kate Gates. [just in case your friend has crossed paths with her at any time] Loved your picture of Rosie, Gill. Our boxer before Amy was also called Rosie.
We have lasagne, runner beans and peas tonight already to cook.

I do hope you get the result you want with your home Gill It can be tiring and stressful if it doesn't sell quickly. I recall the house I bought before this one we looked at several times before putting an offer in, only to change our minds. Then we put a revised offer in 2 months later and bought. The neighbour on one side proved to be an A hole so we quickly sold on. The bungalow we then bought, this one, we looked at several times before buying. Its only problem is it's not dethatched. Potential buyers can be viewing your house without being in it Gill. Unknown to me a couple who lived only 5 doors from me at my former address were bidding for this one. They fell out and split. There's always a hidden agenda :-0 :-P :-P

Long time no see Liz :-D :-D :-D..Glad you didn't wait too long to get back :-D How nice to be able to sit out on your balcony in the sunshine.I had my coffee outside too before I went shopping. It was lovely and warm on the patio. But now the sun is disappearing it is getting really chilly.
Mel I was looking things up on the internet and could have scared myself to death .So no more checking medical things for me for now.I will just wait until the blood results are back and see if I need to be referred to Rheumatology Still no results though from the MRI on my head. The GP said this is quite usual for these results to take so long !!
Is it today your mower arrives Frank? We are still waiting to pick ours up from Brigstock where it has gone for a service. We should get a phone call soon to say it is ready.
Frank we didn't go the the cinema today, because it was too nice a day to be sat in the dark.
I bought a sweet little dress and top for the baby ,and a soft book type toy.(Not that Freya will be interested in that just yet) but she might like the feel of it and the bright colours. There are so many lovely baby things it was difficult to know what to buy. Also what ever I got had to be small and lightweight as I am sure they will not be wanting too much extra to take back to the US.I expect everyone they visit here will have a little pressie for Freya :-D
Look how light it is tonight.!!!.I expect the bird bath will start freezing over shortly.

Afternoon all,
Mower arrived by Parcel Force this afternoon. Much to my surprise, it looks as new, but it had been dissmantled and with no instructions. Between swearing and blowing hot and cold, I managed with Ros's help to put it together. It now sits in the middle of the lounge, ready to go outside to the garage when Ros puts the ironing board down.
I have the car booked in for tomorrow to have the spring fitted to the N/S front. Tony next door will follow us down and bring us back. Then take us back when it's ready.
Nice to see you back with us Liz, Sun bathing ?? did you have your shorts on or your SWIMSUIT. ;-) ;-)
Ros came in from the garden about 3.30 pm and got straight on with the ironing. I don't know where she finds the energy. She makes me tired just watching her. While she was out on the path clearing the front. Her little garden stool fell over as she went tosit on it, and ended up on her back. Bruised her Bum and elbow. She was more concerned that nobody saw her. :-D :-D :-D
Lamb in onions and gravy, with potato's in the gravy all baking away. Will have to see about putting the veg on.
Will catch up with everything later.

Jane, I've looked up medical things on Google so often and as you say it can frighten you to death! I'm trying not to with our latest saga; best to wait and see what the specialist says time come. It's the old thing of a little knowledge being a dangerous thing!!! My swimsuit Frank?!! Dr, no, not a pretty sight, not any more!! No, I just sat in my shirt sleeves, and enjoyed!! Ros certainly does have a lot of energy Frank! I seem to have less and less, but perhaps I'll go up a gear or two when the summer comes! Gill,I sent Sandra a couple of photos of Merlin as I know she likes to see them. <3

O great our Liz is back :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D so pleased you did'nt stay away too long.
Oh has been in the garden nearly all day fiddling with the electric fence wire for round the two ponds. He has had the decking up and put it all under there so no falling over it now when I go to feed the fish. We've had no more trouble with the otter since putting the fence round both ponds.
I stripped the bed, I have a sheet on the mattress then a mattress cover thing and then the bottom sheet. Got those all washed and dried and put back one the bed. Then washed all the pillow slips, under ones and over ones all 12 of them and they are still on the line. Washed all the windowsills and wiped the walls down so we have a lovely clean bedroom tonight.
Also potted up a cutting of my Streptocarpus and water all the cuttings in the shed of the hebe oh cut down from the back of the bungalow as its a good blue flowerer and I want some outside the wall down the roadway.
Cut the stems down on my roses and rearranged them in thier jug.
Washed all the windowsills in the kitchen and tidied the other plants on the windowsill. So I thik I have done really well today. It makes a difference when oh is outside and I have the house to myself.

Liz those are the words Chris said to me.'Little Knowledge etc' The thing is it so tempting and too easy to start looking things up .But really best not to do.You just think I will just have a quick look and then you go deeper and deeper and that it is when it can scare the pants off you.
Oh Frank I bet you didn't expect the mower to be dismantled !!!.At least you have got it all together now so ready for the first cut :-DStripes and all :-D
I must give my Sister a ring.Matthew and Kelsey arrived home this morning from their travels :-D

Crickey Mel you've been busy!! Just finished supper and cleared away! I washed the underblanket on our bed as well as other bits of washing and it all dried outside for the first time this year. I didn't wipe anything down though!! Yesterday I did some cobwebing in our bedroom and the sitting room! They were really thick and dirty and had been there all winter! :-S

Evening all,
Well it's been such a lovely day after a very frosty start ,hubby moved some of the wood from up near the house down into the wood shed ,it was the surplus that he couldn't get in the shed when we had it delivered . We thought we would have lunch out and go to a nice little place where they meals are good ,we drive onto the car park and i could see straight away that they were closed as the chairs were all up on the tables and the hoover was out and there were no other cars on the car park , last time we went they were on winter opening hours and i thought they were only closed on Monday and Tuesday but perhaps it's Wednesday as well :-( We came home and had prawn and salad rolls instead .
My Mel you have had a busy day ,it must be the sun shine that's given you some oomph and spurred you on :-D But don't you feel pleased after you've had a good day like that and got lots done . I got the bedrooms hoovered before we went out so i did a little but i haven't done much this afternoon .
Nice to see you back Liz .
Could some one pass on to me Williams new email address please .

LIZ ! Cobwebs !!!!!!.I have hoovered up some horrendous ones this afternoon.I was shocked at how far they had spread !!!!! I just spotted the grubby bits of web I could actually see and then they went on for ages !!!!!!!!!!!.They then get stuck around the end of the hoover pipe :-S :-S.I haven't actually seen any spiders though for a while now..Ladybirds yes.I find them crawling up the inside of windows!!! Where to they come from??One little creature I haven't had trouble with for a while now are the Chuggy Pigs(woodlice). Dinner tonight is a simple one.I can't be bothered to do anything much.It is Southern Fried Chicken and Chips and Peas.Chris is being very nice.I think he can see that I am a bit concerned about the 'wording ' on the Hips Xray results. He says not to worry .But like you Liz the mind goes into overdrive and imagines all sorts.

Evening All,
Well OH was told his blood tests were just routine checks when he went for the results. Everything was fine, BP, glucose levels and cholesterol. His appointment came through for him for the Neurology dept so that's the next thing.
Jane, I can never resist having a google about things and you are right, sometimes you see things you don't want to! I love going through the childrens' aisles and looking at the clothes for tots and babies.......they are so cute, especially the little shoes!! I had some of my sister's shoes for a doll once.
It's good you are back again Liz. Cas sounds like she is a little less energetic at times now instead of wanting to be on the go as much!
Mel I have a mattress protector and bottom sheet, top sheet and pillow cases and pillow protectors, but you must have more pillows than us!! I wonder what your OH is making??
I'm glad you got the mower together without scraped knuckles or blue words Frank!! I bet you will be giving it a try tomorrow, :-) Its a shame the car needs so much spending on it and it does seem very soon to be needing new tyres considering the mileage you do.
OH went to the home today and sorted everything out ........except asking about the bed!! Men!!!!!!! His dad was cheerful and fine and sitting in a chair with a food tray on wheels in front of him. We were looking at his discharge papers tonight. They showed 8 things wrong with him and 13 medications he has to take!

So pleased you are back Liz :-D :-D :-) :-) <3 <3 The pictures of Merlin didn't come through, so I haven't mentioned it to Sandra yet.
You've been really busy today Mel. I was like that yesterday, I started at 5.30am and didn't finish until around 1am the following day. There was no point trying to sleep yesterday as my cough was really bad. Thankfully I've slept for almost 5 hours today, on and off, so I feel slightly less exhausted.
Please don't worry Jane, I know it's hard but everything will be sorted out in the end and worrying won't help. Try and keep yourself busy, that'll take you mind of it for a while.
So you're having to get the electrician in Frank. It does sound like something has blown up in the ceiling space, so best to get someone in to check it for you, we wouldn't want you to have an accident up on the steps. Hope you get the nice weather so you can use your new mower. You'll soon have the stripes you want. OH done our yesterday and I'm glad he did as it's been raining on and off today, so the lawn would of been far to wet to do it on his next day off.
What a shame the place you go to for a meal was closed Mandy, did it say when it was opening again. Lots of places open around March so not long to wait. Your prawn and salad sandwiches sound nice. I've hardly eaten today, I'm just not in the mood so I've just had a tuna sandwich. I might have a bit of soup later.
I've had the third viewing confirmed today, so that's two for Friday and one for Saturday, all of them in a position to buy and all cash buyers. I really hope something comes of them this time as it's starting to get me down now.
My ribs are so sore, so I've just made a hot water bottle to ease the pain a little, my throat is sore again, but I think that's all the coughing not actually a sore throat as it seems to ease a bit when I'm not coughing.
Sandra's got us watching the Brit Awards, she's been looking forward to it for ages. It started at 8pm and doesn't finish till 10.20pm so that's my evening's TV sorted. I've recorded the programmes I wanted to watch so will watch them tomorrow.
