O dear why on earth did'nt Gill go to the docs sooner. Now a chest infection. She is just doing too much.
Its nice to have Liz back. I feel she is nearer to me than most of you.
I am now going to shout as I have told you twice I think what oh has been making. A NEW BOARD FOR THE ELECTRIC FENCING WIRING AROUND BOTH PONDS.
I just wish he was making me a new table for outside with my eggs on it as my old tea trolly I covered in bubble wrap gave out completely this winter with all the wind and rain. Its still up the front dead with whats left of its legs in the air. The shelf has fallen out and there is no saving any of it. I have pulled another old tea trolly out of the stables but oh said it has too much woodworm in it and chucked it to one side. It was'nt as good as the last one as the shelf in it is really too low and you can't put things on the top as they get wet or blown off. The old one had two shelves.
Jane made me laugh with her cobwebs. The thing is you can't see them when its dull and dreary. I spied mine Monday all like lace on the Christmas lights on the ceiling. They soon went up the hoover but as Jane said they do stick all around the nozzle of the vac so you have to run your hand up the pipe so they go.

Morning all
Frosty here today and really cold with it, the sun is out so hopefully the frost will disappear soon and it may warm up a little.
I hope you manage to find a suitable table/tea trolly for your eggs Mel, or maybe if your OH has time he could make you something. Have you tried looking around the charity shops, you might find something suitable there? I use a feather duster for my cobwebs, they stick to the duster, then I just clean the duster ready for next time. I never seem to see the spiders either, just their little homes.....or not so little, sometimes LOL.
Your email came through Liz, I love the photo of Merlin looking over the hedge and the one of Cass playing with her ring, it looks like she's having a ball rolling around on the floor. Sandra will be thrilled with them when she sees them later. She's still asleep at the moment.
I've been awake since 6am again. I have got a chest infection and an inflamed throat and ear. The doctor has given me some antibiotics and some steroids to help with the inflammation, also an inhaler to help with my breathing. So I'm all dosed up now. Hopefully I'll start feeling the benefits of all the meds in a day or two. I don't feel so light headed now, so that's good and a managed to get a better nights sleep last night which has helped, although I'm still a bit tired, coughing so much really takes it out of you.
We didn't get home until nearly midnight. I wasn't keen on leaving Sandra here on her own but I rang my mum and showed Sandra how to use the phone so she could ring her if she needed too. Everything was fine with her in the end, so that was good. I rang Sandra myself after I'd seen the nurse and before my doctors appointment so I could let Sandra know roughly what time we'd be home so she didn't worry. I also rang my mum to let her know too.
Sandra watched her Brit awards and then went and watched her Hollyoaks she'd recorded for herself in the other room, so was only on her own for about 10 minutes with no TV programmes to watch before we got in. She was in bed when I got home listening to her music and was absolutely fine, it was just me worrying about her while I was out. It was so cold last night I didn't want to take her out in the cold with me, so was pleased she was okay.
I'm going to take it easy today and maybe have a bit more sleep later as I'm still tired. I'm going to catch up with my programmes I recorded for myself now, while it's quiet. OH has gone to work and Sandra is still in bed.
What is everyone else up to today?

Morning all,
Bright sunny morning here to start with but still a hard frost and there had been a little hail which had frozen onto the car rooves. Its just about gone now. I have the library a little later.
I have put the cottons on the line but there's not much in the way f breeze or wind so they are just hanging there and only moving a little now and then.
Just as I typed the last sentance the sun went in and now grey clouds are coming over blast.

Afternoon all,
Won't be stopping long as things to do.
The electrician came this morning, the transformer had gone in the down lighters. I am ordering a new one on line. He will come back at fit it when it arrives. NO RUSH.
Tony took Ros to get the spring replaced, I have just rung the garage and the car is ready. When Tony gets back we will go and collect it and take it for the re-test. That will be out of the way.
I see you have all been busy washing and spider hunting LOL
Thanks Mel for that information. I don't remember you mentioned it before !!
So Antibiotics for Gill, that should help clear things up for you my love.
Trust your OH to miss the main point about the FIL falling out of BED. Lets hope he remembers next time he goes in.
Not had chance to use the mower. I've hardly had time to breeth. Another day tomorrow.
I trust you are all well and enjoying this very nice day.

It's turned all grey in the sky here now and it's blimmin cold.
There was a few drops of rain in the air just after our lunch when oh went outside so I had to bring the washing in. It's all cottons so they are dry enough for me to iron them in a min.
I am just going to have a COT first.
Been to the library so I did'nt forget this time without you lot reminding me. Arn't I a good girl? :-D

Afternoon All
Beautiful day here :-D..
Gill,I hope today with the help of the steroids and inhaler your breathing is much easier. The antibiotics will start working soon so you will really start to feel better then. Just make sure you rest up for a few days .NO HOUSEWORK :-D.
Ann ,I'm pleased that OH's bloods were all fine.I will have to wait a few days for min results. The nurse had 4 tubes full of my blood this morning.
I then went over to Rushden to Waitrose for things for lunch tomorrow..Chris gave the lounge a good clean while I was out :-D
Frank that is good the electrician has been and found the fault.I take it you won't have to wait long for the new part..At least you don't have to go fiddling around with wiring.
Mel OH could whip up a table for you in minutes couldn't he.Well maybe not minutes ,but it wouldn't take long.It sounds like you desperately need a new one .
David I don't think I have heard of the name of that tablet. When I first read your post I thought you said that Ellen had got a 7" TABLE :-D :-D
Time for a cuppa now

Well all legal for another year. £80.00 in cash with no receipt for the spring. Another garage quoted £100.00 plus VAT so I saved a few quid.
Still not got to use the mower, but did try it in the garage with the cutter up, sounds O.K. The proof will be when I use it.
Ros is now on her 8th cover for the children, with another 15 to do. She is quite upset not being able to get on the garden today. All her plants and daffbulbs in pots were in postion where she wanted them to go. I said don't leave them out there, someone might pich them. So I have bought them round the back, she will have to lay them out again tomorrow. I think they may have been safe out the front, but you don't know who's about ;-) ;-) ;-)
Yes Jane it has been a lovely day. Little annoyed that we have'nt had chance to be in the garden. The neighbour has cut his lawn, you can smell it when you go out the back.
As Tony has been so good to take Ros into town twice today. I will buy his beer tonight at the pub.

Afternoon All,
Oh Jane, they are doing various tests with your blood then! I hope your results are all fine too. It must all be a bit worrying for you. We are off to see the film Spotlight you saw the other day later this afternoon. I just hope it won't be busy as we usually go around lunchtime.
Mel, there's no need for shouting! lol. I've a good mind to say 'pardon I didn't hear'. :-D So why doesn't your OH make you a table for your eggs then? He could do it just the size you want with a wooden roof to keep the rain off. :-) (don't tell him I'm finding him jobs to do!!!! :-0)
You seem to be getting your problems all sorted Frank and it was a good job you got the electrician in. Yes, trust OH to forget the main thing!! The doctor's popping in to the home today so they are going to get him to give FIL a once over. He's eating again now so that's good.
Gill you poor thing, being so poorly. I used to get bad chest infections years ago when I worked. I think it was from mixing with the public so much!! My doctor advised me to have flu jabs, even though I was too young for the ones routinely given. Since then I've had very few colds and only 2-3 chest infections so it really helped. Might it be worth considering talking to your doc about having them as you have had quite a few coughs/colds lately. I hope the antibiotics get to work quickly so you start to feel a lot better, but you mustn't try to do too much.
We went to the fav carvery today. We have to go down lots of winding lanes to get there and the craters and potholes at the sides of the lanes made by the farmers with their tractors are horrendous with many over a foot deep!! They've broken away a lot of the tarmac edging too. It's quite dangerous if a wide vehicle comes the other way as you can't pull to the edge for fear of dropping into gaping holes!! We went to a garden centre after and then I told OH he should drive my car home to get more used to it. Well, we nearly took off at first and I was telling him he should have had his slippers on to get a lighter feel of the pedals! Then on an open stretch he pressed the accelerator a bit in 6th gear and left his own tummy behind!! lol
I wish I'd realised the Flying Scotsman was travelling up the country today as it would have been good to see it if it hadn;'t been too far away.

Evening all,
It's been another beautiful sunny day but so so cold ,i think we might be in for some thing ,may be a little snow the sky is so black out there now .
Gill i'am glad you've got some thing from the doctor a few days and hopefully you'll be feeling much better , just don't try doing things to soon . Sandra was good being left on her own last night , it must have been a little bit scary for her if she's not use to being left on her own very much .
Jane , 4 lots of blood !! they must be testing for all sorts taking that amount , i have to have blood tests in the next few weeks for my arthritis and due a urine test ,i couldn't believe the size of the pot she gave me !! they use to be long tube like things this one is a round pot .
Frank thats good you had the electrician in to sort out the electrics so you don't have to do them you've done enough climbing on the steps lately !! So all sorted for another year with the car then . You carn't be to careful about leaving things out in the garden , i was watching a programme were some one had new turf laid and the cameras on the next doors house showed a couple of women rolling it up and walking off with it !!
Goodness Ann those pot holes don't sound good ,they would do some damage to the car if you went into one of them. Did you have to hold on for dear life with OH behind the wheel :-D Glad that FIL is settled back in the home ,and eating again .
Mel you just need to get some wood and a few nails out for a new table and OH will soon say "you carn't do that let me do it "!! :-D job done :-D :-D You were good remembering the Library you usually ask us to remind you :-D

Sorry Ann I missed seeing your post yesterday. Pleased to hear the results for your OH came back okay. Fancy him forgetting to ask about the bed for FIL :-S :-S Glad he's eating again now though. I saw the Flying Scotsman on the news this morning Ann and the way the train spotters went onto the track to take photo's, so now the train is running behind schedule, how dangerous was that and all for a photo which they could of taken as it went by. Nice to see it up and running again though.
Can I ask Jane, the steroids said to take 8 tablets once dissolved in water, which I did first thing this morning. But 8 tablets in one go seems an awful lot, is that right? They are called Prednisolone soluble 5mg tablets. If I've taken them right then there are 3 days worth. My throat isn't hurting today and I feel okay, just a bit tired, but I don't want to overdose on them, so thought I'd just check to make sure I'm taking them correctly. Hope you don' t mind me asking? Hope your blood test come back okay for you. That was nice of Chris to clean the lounge while you were out.
So it was the transformer then Frank? Hopefully it won't be long before the electrician can sort it out for you when it arrives. You got a bargain with your spring, some garages are good like that aren't they? Hope your lawn mower is okay for you when you finally get the chance to cut your lawns.
I'm so glad OH did ours the other day as it's done nothing but rain ever since, it's poured down again today. It now looks much tidier for the viewings which can only help. I know what you mean about the smell, I can smell ours each time I go to the bin. What a shame you and Ros can't get into the garden with the weather the way it is, hopefully, now we're in spring, the weather should start to warm up again, then they'll be no stopping you both. It sounds like Ros is busy with the covers, does she ever stop? and I thought I worked hard LOL
I'm not doing any housework today though, I didn't do any yesterday either as I think working all day a few days ago didn't do me any favours, so I need to listen to my body and rest. OH is doing the viewings tomorrow and Saturday, I'll just following everyone around and be ready to answer any questions OH doesn't know the answer to, which I'm sure won't be any. He's quite a shy man so doesn't really like talking to strangers, so it wouldn't be fair to just leave him to it.
I had the Agents son call me today so I ask him what the budget was for all the people viewing and to my surprise he told me. Unfortunately 2 of them have budgets under the asking price, one of them 15k under, which is to much for us to come down on, the other one is only 5k which we would consider, but the third one has a budget 15k over our asking price, so if they want it we shouldn't have to come down by much, if anything at all. Unfortunately we've lost the detached bungalow I had my eye on in the next village, so we'd have to start looking again. That can wait until we know if this place has sold or not, as I'm not feeling up to doing much at the moment and OH is in work.
How crafty Mandy saying to Mel to start making the table herself then her OH will do it for her, I might try that trick myself ;-) ;-) does it work for you LOL. Yes that was my concern that Sandra might of been scared on her own, especially with it being so late, but she seemed to be okay when we got home. Not that I'd make a habit of it though. I was more worried than her, as she doesn't seem to show fear, which could put her in harms way without her realising it.

LOL Ann.Were you gripping on for grim death with OH driving ??? I hope you enjoy the film..We didn't actually go to see it after all yesterday.Partly because the weather just so nice ,but I didn't really fancy lunch out again and then a film.Chris wasn't that bothered .
I loved seeing the Flying Scotman today staring off on its journey. But did you see that it was held up at one point because some stupid Train Spotters were so close at the side of the lines !!!!!
Frank, your mower sounds like it will be good.Just be patient .You will soon be out there doing your lawn :-D....Crumbs Ros is going to be busy with all those covers for the children. I think it was a good idea to move the plants around the back ,but I reckon your road is pretty safe and someone would no doubt spot someone pinching all those plants. Better safe than sorry though eh!
Gill are you feeling any better this evening?I hope you have been having a relaxing afternoon catching up on your recorded programmes.
Time to start grub.

Forgot to mention before Ann, the Flying Scotsman starts a tour of the country next month. I'm not sure when or where it's going to be or how long the tour runs for as it didn't say on the news, but I'm sure it'll be on the internet somewhere, You might get a chance to see it, I know I'll be hoping to see it myself, depending on it's route. I'd love to get some tickets and travel on the train so I might look into it, to see if it's possible :-) :-) It'd be a nice joint 50th birthday present for OH and I and something to remember our 50th by.

What a shock you had Ann, the flying scotsman had nothing on Gordon ;-) ;-) I bet your bum was squeaking, holding it in that tight. !!!
That does sound a lot of tablets Gill. but as always Dr. Chris, and Nurse Jane are there to help. <3 <3 ;-) ;-)
Jane, David meant an ACER the same make as my laptop.
I like the idea of you trying to make a table Mel, I am sure OH will soon knock one out for you. With a roof all tiled would look wonderful. :-D :-D <3 <3
Well I had better get my coat on as I don't like to keep Tony waiting, when he is good enough to take and bring me back from the pub.
I doubt if I will get back again tonight, So see you all in the morning xxxx

Yes I think my bloods are going through the whole lot of testing. Some being re tested ,but some new ones too. Calcium, and Vitamin D are 2 new ones plus some weird one for a level of some kind of enzyme( that I have never heard of).
Just watching the second Eastenders tonight and then hopefully bed.I just need to get Thomas in.If I am lucky he won't be too far away to hear me calling and whistling .If I am unlucky he will be miles away and I won't be so early to bed :-S

Thank you Jane, I've replied to your PM.
If I tried the sigh and say I couldn't do it Mandy, my OH would just laugh as I'm very good at carpentry, but it might be worth trying that trick on something I'm not quite that good on, it'd be worth a try just to see if it worked.
£450 was a lot of money for one trip, I've taken a look at the prices online and they're not to bad, although the only problem we have is the pick up points for the coaches are miles away from here, so it would be just as easy for us to take a holiday in York itself and go to the museum and see the Flying Scotsman there. I took a look at the museum and they have all sorts going on, most of them are free as well and I've always wanted to go back to York, I went as a child and really enjoyed it. So OH and Sandra would like to go now, plus we could call in to see Michelle as she doesn't live that far away from York. We wouldn't be stuck to a schedule that way and can take in the sights in our own time.
