Signing out now
See you all tomorrow

Gill, it would be lovely if both sets of viewers, who are ready to go and potentially cash buyers could go out the back and compete against each other wouldn't it.

Trivia, must have been whacked last night. Fell asleep about 10pm until 7am

Jane, you were a nurse you will understand the parlance. When I lay in hospital so long and my leg became infected I was having blood tests taken twice a day by a phlebotanist to send to the lab. After a while it became more difficult and they had to try different places to take blood from. I was becoming covered in bruises. So I says to this Irish phlebotomist what's the problem? she replies you've got (censored)veins :-( :-\

Morning all and evening Kim,

Quite bright this morning and dry but the breeze cuts you like a knife.

We are under a long tailed tit attack at the moment. They are on the large fat ball I put out yesterday. I am hoping they eat this one all up as the last two have gone soggy and started sprouting and had to go in the dustbin. I think it is better for me if I buy the small ones as they seem to eat those without any trouble.

Nothing planned for today except to go to the shop for my paper.

Good Morning All

Gill, I hope Sandra is feeling better this morning. Good Luck with your latest viewings this is the time of year when people are more likely to want to move house.

Jane, it sounds as if you really enjoyed the day with your visitors especially baby Freya , 3 months is when they start to get more aware of whats going on around them. I hope your blood tests put your mind at rest, I have to take vitamin D and calcium tablets plus another weekly one to do with my bones this was after having the chemo. I don't think they could get that amount of blood from me sometimes it takes several attempts to get one sample.

Frank, your garden looks amazing for this time of the year. both you & Ros having been working really hard, all I've done at the moment is weeding and pruning although there are a lot of bulbs out now. Nice photo of Ros & Val having a rest outside.

Liz so pleased to hear the your doctor has been reassuring about your OH's tests, just a few words of explanation can help your peace of mind so much as I know.

Not doing too much today hopefully Richard will cut the grass and take Amy, he hasn't got up yet. It is lovely and sunny at the moment fingers crossed it will last.

Just sausages, beans and chips lunch time . Paul is calling to pick Richard up later as it's ice hockey this evening, they support The Bracknell Bees who aren't doing too well this season.

Nice to hear from Ruby, pleased she is getting sorted now

Hope everyone has a good day and not too many aches and pains.

Morning to all you lovely people, Evening to our dear Kim,

I had to telephone Jane this morning and left a message with James, that my computer has packed up. I asked that she let you all know, as I know you worry about me <3 <3 I phoned Jonathan and he came round. It was a fuse in the mains that had tripped. Why it did I don't know. It has happened a couple of times now. I will get the Electrician to check everywhere when he come back.

How nice to hear from Ruby, I am pleased you are in your own space now. I am sure you will get used to finding things, at our age we don't need to be climbing up and down steps to cupboards.

Sorry to hear that Sandra has caught whatever you had Gill, I expect it will go through the household :-( :-( Lets hope OH doesn't take it to the nursing home !!!

David it looks like yoy slept for ENGLAND. 10.00 pm to 7.00 am What did you take ??? I must try some lol

Anne, Hockey is never a game I have ever watched, even though there are hockey games played in the local area.

I managed to cut the front lawn this morning, so that another job out of the way. The back lawn edges have been trimmed also.

I hope Jane hasn't gone to the local hospital, to PINCH a baby of her own ;-) ;-) <3 <3 I have always loved the smell of babies, and use to love to "BITE" my twos bottoms, they always laughed when I did it. :-D :-D :-D

Yes a thatched table for your GOODIES Mel will show them off a treat. I'm sure he could knock one of those up in no time.

Hows the FIL today Ann, showing signs of improvement I hope.

Harvey called this mornig to take back the Wheelchair he gave us, in case we needed one. He has visitors coming tomorrow and the girl needs the use of one. I would have thought she would have had one of her own. Perhaps hers is a Mobility scooter, and too big to bring on a visit.

He can't have Ros down for Mothers Day next Sunday, as Lara is coming up from Cornwall with he boyfriend and her daughter, and the boyfriend has his two boys for the day. Harvey has offered to take us out the following Sunday. We will see if I go or not.

Liz I am so pleased to hear that the Doctors are giving you news that is putting your minds at ease. Give my regards to Ian please. and a nice cuddle for Cassie <3 <3

Tony is picking me up to take me to the pub at 12.30. My West Ham are playing Sunderland at 12.45 K.O. So I will be home again abouyr 2.35 pm.

See you all later.

Afternoon all,

Been bright and sunny here this morning so i hung my washing out and it's all dry ,it's nice to be able to hang things out again and get them dry
No gardening today after yesterday my side is a bit stiff with all the hoeing i did so i'll leave it a day or two before i do some more .

Ruby you must be so pleased to get in your new rooms , you'll soon get sorted and get things where you want them ,it's a good idea not to have the wall cupboards and have shelves instead ,i have to get the steps to get any thing out of my wall cupboards as they are really tall and go right up to the ceiling ,the one good thing is that there is no dust trap on the top as they are right up to the coving .

Oh poor Sandra lets hope she doesn't feel as bad as you did Gill ,you'll have to keep an eye on her and get her some Antibiotics before she gets it as bad as you did .
Do you feel better today ? oh you have another viewing today ,hope it goes well.

Frank, glad you got the computer sorted out ,good idea to get the electrician to check things out ,somethings not quite right if things keep tripping out the fuses .

Nothing happening much here over the week end ,i expect family will call in tomorrow ,i have made two sponges this morning one plain with Apricot jam and one chocolate ,the children like sponge so they'll soon spoil the look of them .
Also made some Leek and Potato soup which we had for lunch.

Time for a cuppa now and i think i'll get the fire lit .

I had missed Ruby's post yesterday and I am always going back a page to make sure I hav'nt missed anyone. It must have come through just after I had turned the page again.

Nice to hear from Ruby and know that she is now in her new place even if it is a bit of a mess at the moment you will soon get it sorted to the way you want it. You's have to get someone to put a long peice of wood near the rdge of one of the shelves so you can stand your plates up against the wall. The most important question is Ruby "Do you like it and are you as pleased withit as youthought you would be"?

Mandy we could do with a nice sponge cake so can you send me one please? I bet the kids will soon polish those off when they get there tomorrow.

Something happened this morning just after I posted. I was having a slice of bread and jam so I could take my pills and half way through my bottom plate broke. It was'nt as if I was biting on something hard as it was only a slice of white cut bread. Not even the crust was hard. One complete side has broken away but at least its the left side and I can still wear the rest of them with my front teeth on!!!!!!!!!!! So it will be a call to the dentist on Monday morning. :-( More Expense!!

Can happen to anyone, A few months ago I was chomping on a hard apple
broke middle tooth off just above the gum :-(

magpie Report 27 Feb 2016 16:46

Oh dear Mel, poor you, seems odd to have broken your plate, but I'm sure the Dentist will be able to fix it. I dread breaking a tooth as however careful you are it does sometimes happen for no real reason. I always cut apples up these days David, then you do not put so much pressure on your teeth eating them. Apples can be lethal!! Did you manage to get to the Dentist ok?!
It's been really cold here today, the wind is bitter when you go out. We've got a good fire going, and are having jacket spuds and sausages for as upper! Nice and easy with next to no clearing up.
Hope you are all feeling better Gill and that the news on your sale is good!!
I hung washing out too Mandy, and it dried a treat, just needs airing!!
Ian was going to pressure wash our veranda this afternoon, but changed his mind! Try again tomorrow!!

Afternoon all, Clouds nor building in the West. It's either the darkness or rain clouds, might even be snow !!!

I've had forty winks after 4 pints and a West Ham win. not a great match but 3 points are good.

Just had an email from Maureen, regarding the garden. Haven't heard from her for a long time.

When my dentures broke the dentist thought I had put them in BOILING WATER. as if you would. I told him in no uncertain words, that if they broke again, I would require a new set. !!

Ros has come home with a load of Primulars to go in the garden, where she is going to put them I don't know :-D :-D :-D

Time for a COT, me thinks.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 27 Feb 2016 17:21

Oh no Mel , you haven't had the plate very long either , do you think you might have got some food underneath the plate while you were eating and it put a little pressure on the plate ,it wouldn't take much to break it if it was uneven , the dentist might be able to mend it so you don't have to have a new one made .

Yes Liz there was a lovely dry out today but it's now tuned very cold ,feels like there might be a frost tonight .

Nice to hear you have heard from Maureen Frank , i was only thinking about her the other day when i was ironing . :-)

Hi all

Well, I'm finally on here. I didn't realise how tired I was, first of all I turned on my laptop then clicked on the start button to go to Internet Explorer but must of clicked on shut down. I didn't even realise what I'd done so couldn't understand why my laptop had gone off. Then I tried again and went onto Genes, read the posts and went to write a post of my own, but no box to right in. I opened Genes a further two times then realised I hadn't signed in, hence no box for my post showing. I am tired but I didn't realise how tired I was :-S :-S

I also missed your post Ruby....sorry to hear you've not been well either, it's no joke when you can't breath properly is it? It sounds like you're settling in okay. Maybe you could have an extra tall cupboard that pulls out put in, so you can put your food in there up to a height that is comfortable for you to reach, that way it would leave one of the other cupboards free for your dishes. My mum has one of the pull out cupboards and says they are brilliant with bags of room, and easy access as well.

Poor Sandra is still not well and has slept most of today on and off, I noticed she had fallen asleep again this afternoon so left her until about an hour before the viewing. She was due for some more medicine then anyway and it gave her a bit of time to wake up before the couple arrived.

We reduced our property by 10k a few hours before the viewing to encourage them to put in an offer, hope it works. They seemed pleased with the layout and also mentioned wanting to do an extension at the back to square off the building then she can have an open plan living room, dining room and kitchen with a log burner that she wants. Lets hope the feedback is good, I expect we'll find out tomorrow.

We had feedback off the couple yesterday and they said it was a bit to pricey which is why we reduced. The agent has told them about the reduction but weather they'll want another look I'm not sure. The lady who came yesterday who wanted this place but her husband wanted next door but one is still interested but her budget was lower than our asking price, so now we've reduced she may come back to us as we are now on at a lower price than next door but one.

The only thing the couple weren't to keen on today was Rosie jumped up onto the windowsill outside the living room and the woman didn't like it, she thought the Squirrel was going to come into the bungalow. I did assure her that Rosie doesn't do that, I chucked some nuts onto the grass and Rosie jumped down and went to them, but I've got a feeling it might of put them off......hope it didn't, but time will tell I suppose.

Apart form that they liked everything else. When we reduced a few hours before they arrived the agent told them and then rang me saying that they were excited about the reduction so lets hope that is a positive against the negative of Rosie turning up. Not all people like squirrels, but there's nothing I can do about that.

Pleased to hear your West Ham won Frank. I'm hoping the weather stays dry now the viewings are out of the way as we want to take out some of the plants we want to take with us and put them into pots before they start flowering.
Hope the electrician can sort out why your electrics are cutting out, maybe it has something to do with the transformer and once that has been fixed the rest of the electrics will be okay. I don't suppose it will do any harm to have him check all the electrics though.....better to be safe than sorry, you don't want an electrical fire in your bungalow.

I've been feeling like making some cakes Mandy but I've been so busy with the viewings lately I haven't had the time. My meds are starting to work now and I'm feeling a lot better, so once I know if any of the viewings want second viewings and I have a bit of free time I'll get into the kitchen and make some.

Oh dear Mel, another trip to the dentist by the sounds of it. Hope it can be sorted soon.

Yes cutting up the apple before eating it David would save you biting hard apples with your front teeth, the back ones are much stronger so should be okay.

OH has just nipped to the shops for me, I need some big potatoes as Sandra wants baked potatoes for her dinner with a bit of boiled egg and mayo. Hopefully if I mash it up for her and make it soft she'll be able to swallow it. Her temperature has finally come down a bit and all the sleep she's had today has made her feel a little better. She was so bad last night she didn't even listen to her new CD her dad bought her and that's not Sandra at all. I was looking after her until almost 2am. She even asked if she could go and stand outside to cool off, but the air was damp so I put a fan on for her instead as damp air wouldn't of done her any good.

If she's no better on Monday we're going to take her to the doctors. Unless of course she has a turn for the worse tomorrow, then it'll be the out of hours surgery that I went to the other night. I hate seeing her ill, I just keep giving her cuddles and keeping her fluids up. Sandra doesn't get ill very often, but when she does she's always pretty bad. Hope she gets better soon and doesn't get as bad as I was, as that was horrible :-( :-(

OH has just got back so I'm going to put the potatoes in the oven for Sandra now

I didn't magpie. My dentist is down town and on the first floor.
Never did find one who did house calls.
And I confess I feared the next dentist might say it's easier and less fuss to have them all out.
I've had them a long time, I wouldn't agree.
Apart from the odd twinge to let me know it's alive it's no bother :-D

Afternoon All

Mel ,that was odd for your plate to snap like that .I hope you manage to get it fixed very quickly. Is this your new one? If it is surely you wouldn't have to pay.

David was your tooth one of your own that broke off ? My Sister has broken several teeth over the years when biting on something hard.

Gill, how is Sandra?Poor girl.I do feel so sorry for her as it sounds like she has it bad like you did.Lets hope it doesn't go to her chest too.

Frank,I had just gone out when you called this morning so I didn't get your message for ages until I got home. But I see you are all fixed again :-D

We have had quite a day here.Poor Jess was sexually assaulted last night .Thankfully not badly (if you can say that). But she was obviously very scared.Silly girl had been doing some work at the main library and she decided to walk rather than wait for James to pick her up after he finished work. She didn't want to call the Police, but I said she had to.So 2 officers have been here today to take her statement. It happened just outside Wicksteed Park.
I am just so relieved she is OK.

So Ruby ,you are in at last :-D.I am sure that once you get sorted ,you will love it.
I am sorry your little grandchild will be born with Club Feet.I am sure I have heard that it can easily be sorted with an operation.
It sounds like you too have been so ill with the nasty cough and chest infection.Glad you seem to be well over it now :-D

Oh Mandy what a shame your favourite restaurant has closed.Have you another that you like to go to?

LOL yes patting baby's bottom .I did do that too.It must just be a natural thing to do.
Freya was such a good baby. She only slept for about 10 minutes the whole time they were here. But then she did sleep all the way back to London in the car :-D.
I doubt we will see the whole family again for ages. The last time Mark came back home was about 18 months ago.I think they have another 18 months left in Washington. Then who knows where they might be.Kate would love to come back to England for a couple of years .She really misses her Mum and family. Her Brother had a little baby just a few weeks apart from Freya and she is a bit sad that the babies won't grow up together. That baby is called 'Thursday !!!! )..Not sure about that name .

James is doing preparation in the kitchen ..He is cooking some Japanese dish for him and Jess..I will get in there at some point to do our dinner.Mine is not so adventurous.
Breaded Cod Fillets,Oven baked Leeks,Courgettes,Carrots and Mushrooms. Then Oven Chips.I just can't be bothered to do potatoes tonight.

Frank I meant to say I loved the pics of your Lawn and the Ladies having Tea :-D :-D

Oh yes before I forget..Gill,how has the latest viewing gone? You have had quite a few now .Lets hope you get an offer from at least one of them.

Jacket Potatoes and Sausages sound just the ticket Liz.Just right on a really cold day.

I found Thomas eating a bird on the mat just inside the back door earlier :-| :-|..He had eaten most of it so I just shooed him out and scraped up what was left. Not easy getting feathers off a Coconut Mat !!
