Morning Everyone

Jane, I'm pleased to hear Jess is o.k. it could have been so much worse,

How is Sandra this morning Gill, it's good that you are there to take care of her.

My morning didn't start too well, Amy had wet her bed which is by mine in the bedroom, so that all had to go in the wash. Came downstairs to let her out and find bird feathers on the floor, it was a blue tit which had managed to escape so was flying around I opened the kitchen door into the garden but it flew upstairs fortunately all the other doors were closed so got the 2 cats in the conservatory to feed forgot to pull the door across only to discover Amy in the act of pinching their food. so I don't know how much they had eaten. Put her in the sitting room and closed the door which made her think we had a visitor so she started barking really loudly. Went upstairs to have a shower and wash my hair to then discover the bird on the landing curtain rail so opened the window but it then flew downstairs again. So I left the kitchen door open and eventually got into the bathroom from getting up at 8,30 I had my breakfast at 10o/c. First thing in the morning isn't my best time of day, I think the poor little thing must have gone out as there is no sign of it now. It's funny how sometimes very minor things can build up to make you cross. I'm o.k now after my 2nd COT, Richard has taken Amy across to the forest so I'm just going to run the vacuum round as there are e few tiny feathers about.

Paul is coming with the girls later, I am cooking steaks for them all to make a change from a roast, I will have chicken of some sort. So not much preparation.

Hope everyone else is having a good day so far.

Oh dear Anne! I've had days that started like that!! It can only get better!! Lovely sunny morning here with very little wind, so Cas and I have had a nice long walk right round next doors field and back again!! They'll be putting the cattle out in there soon so we're making the best of it while we can!! Ian's cleaned Merlin's field and his yard, and I've cleaned and refilled his water trough! so a busy morning!! This summer we are going to run a pipe up to the field then his trough will automatically fill up like it does in the stable. This'll make life a lot easier as all we'll have to do is clean it now and then!
Lamb for lunch today, with roasts and green beans. The remains of the plums we froze last year for a pudding! So we shall be well fed!!
Thanks for the photos Ann. Nothing else happening here today - yet!!!!

Afternoon all,

Like you Anne my day has been anything but normal. I was up at 8.30 had COT, showered and put dressing gown back on. I started to post when Conrad and Jan Skyped from Spain. I lost my posting.

Conrad SOLD SEVEN properties yeaterday so he is (a) over the moon and (b) mentally tired out.

Talk about getting the wrong end of the stick. When Harvey wanted the wheelchair, it wasn't for a visitor it was for a play ay the Milton Keyes Theatre. Two of the cast have to been in wheelchairs, they had one, that is why Harver needed ours. What a twerp I felt when Ros explained.

I think I mentioned that I can order our scripts. on line. I have our pass words written on the letter received from the surgery. Can I find them NO CHANCE. I have been through all the papers in my trays. Thrown loads of rubbish out BUT no passwords. So I will have to take the scripts up to the Doctors tomorrow when I go for my injection.

The bloo#y cat from next door but one has dug up Ros's garden to do it's business, that will go in a bag AND RETURNED TO HER DOORSTEP. Why do they always pick on our garden. She has three of them !!!! She can hardly look after herself let alone three cats.

Thanks Jane, the rain has arrived here and the cold with it. I trust Jess is alright this morning after her episode.

Liz, you and Ian certainly find plenty to occupy your time. I bet you are glad to get a sit down in the afternoons.

Did Sandra have a good night Gill, Nothing worse than a hacking cough. Poor girl.

Roast pork and all the trimmings all prepared. We will have that about 5.00 pm.

I see there are two matches on SKY this afternoon, I am not going out today, I will have the radio on with my ear phones. So it won't interfere with Ros.

Really dark and horrible outside now, so the heating is going on to warm the place through.

Afternoon all,

Bright day here blue sky and sun but every so often the clouds build up and it looks like it could rain .
It's a bit on the chilly side out there with the wind ,it might be blowing your way Mel.

Ann ,i hope they found the poor little calf ,he was all alone wasn't he ,seems so strange that there was no other cattle in the field with him .

Jane i hope Jess is feeling better today after her ordeal , it will be a while i should think before she will want to walk out alone again .

Hope Sandra is feeling a little better today and enjoying her cooling milky shakes .

Frank Conrad is doing well selling all those properties in one day .
Don't talk to me about cats!! we have next doors cats coming in the front garden doing what cats do !! and it doesn't have stink :-P i stuck my hoe in some the other day when doing the garden ,i shot it over into next doors garden ,let them stick their hoe into it and see how they like it .

Oh dear Anne not a good start to the day for you then , hope the little bird made it out ok, it was lucky to get away from the cats .

Well i have seen some Chocolate Lab puppies for sale ,we just carn't make our minds up if we're ready for one yet ,they won't be ready for re homing until mid April ,son keep saying ring up ring up but i'am not sure what to do ,i know i will be teary when i see them as i still keep thing of Toby so i think we still need to wait a little longer ,but they did look dear little things .

Oh dear Anne and Frank. It sounds like today is a day you would rather forget lol

Anne it sounded rather like a comedy sketch at your house this morning.Although I am sure it felt nothing like that to you !!!
It is nice to see you in your avatar. You actually look quite like I had imagined.

Frank, passwords are a nightmare. We seem to have to have them for everything these days.I keep mine all together in a little book tucked away .
Will you really take the cat poo to the owner?I don't know where Thomas goes.Luckily here as most of peoples back gardens are so long there aren't many flower beds to dig up(except ours ! )But I haven't spotted him digging .Will have to keep an eye on him when Chris puts plants in.

I have just realised that I had forgotten to press submit..Typed this post ages ago :-S

I missed you there mandy

It is so tempting to get a little puppy especially when you see them isn't it.But I think you will know if the time is right .April is a little way off yet so you have a bit of time.I suppose the problem is you have to let them know now if you want one.I love Chocolate Labs.Well I love any dog really :-D..In the past each time my Sister has lost a dog or a cat she has had a new one within days !!.I think it was 6 months after our dear Dodger went before we had Chester.I almost had a Greyhound(ex racing dog) called JoJo.But then for some reason I went with James to another rehoming place and came home with a 10week old whirling dervish (CHESTER).He was such hard work though and it really put me off having a new pup again. But as you know I absolutly loved him to bits and still miss him.It must be coming up for 3 years now !!!!!

It is a strange old day .One minute the sun is out and then the next it comes over all dark.I see our neighbour is having yet anothe bonfire.Must be the 3rd one in week. From where the smoke seems to be coming from it looks lke it is in a different place.I don't know what the heck the have to burn so often. It's a mystery.
The neighbour the other side of us has not been about for well over a week now.I have a feeling she and her new Partner might have gone out to Australia as I think she has a son there who is due to be married.I do find it odd though that she doesn't let us know when she is away for any length of time.If it was me I would let both sides know just so they are aware that the house will be empty for so long.

Frank that is brilliant for Conrad selling so many properties. He will be dead chuffed :-D
Is he going to be out there permanently ?I forget what you told us when he first went out .

I have cooked a small joint of Beef and a small Turkey Breast.Jess doesn't eat Beef :-S
She goes home tonight. Her train leaves her just after 10 .That goes to St Pancras and then I think she has to get a tube to a different station for another train back to her home.So it will be gone midnight by the time she gets there.I am sure she will be ok.But maybe a little nervous after Friday and watching her back. The trouble with Jess is ,she is so dippy and oblivious as to what is going on around her.I often want to give her a shake and tell her to get with it !!!.But that is not my place to do so, so bite my tongue.Even though it is difficult lol.
I can hear the pan of potatoes boiling so need to go and turn it down(just par boiling ready to roast)

Evening all

It's been lovely weather here today, although there is a nip in the air now the sun is going down. I've been out in the garden, taking up some of the plants we want to take with us when we move. I've had some feedback for the couple who came yesterday and they haven't said no, but are thinking about it. We have another viewing tomorrow morning. I think we will get more viewings now we have reduced our price. We reduced it by 10k yesterday as I few of the people who came for viewings said it was a bit overpriced. So now it's cheaper than next door but one so no more competition in the street now with us being the cheapest.

Pleased to hear Jess is feeling a bit better now Jane. I should imagine she'll be a bit nervous going home though. I bet James will be relieved when she lets him know she got home safely.

So you're thinking of getting another dog Mandy? I wasn't sure what to do when we lost our last pet, but then decided not to get another one for now with us hoping to move as I didn't think it would be fair on a young animal.

What a morning you had Anne, it sounded quite comical, but I don't suppose it felt that way to you.

That's a lot of properties Conrad sold in one day Frank, he does work hard doesn't he?

Have you heard anything from the RSPCA yet Ann. I hope the little calf was found and is now safe.

This is the first sit down I've had all day. After I spent hours in the garden and had a bath, I decided to shampoo all my carpets ready for the viewing tomorrow as they were a little dusty from when we did the kitchen ceiling the other week. They look so much better now and smell lovely.

We're having our roast tomorrow as Sandra didn't feel up to it today, when I asked her last night, although she probably could of managed it today after all, but it's still thawing out, so she'll have to wait until tomorrow now. At least she's a bit better today than she has been, so that's good.
I finally had a decent nights sleep last night, although my ribs are still sore from all the coughing. At least the antibiotics are starting to work now, which is brill.

Well, I'd better go and sort something out for dinner now, then I think I'll have an early night, I'm shattered.

Mandy, we've had our little girl from 9 weeks, and she is now just over a year. She is an absolute sweety, we've never had a growl from her or the slightest display of bad temper, BUT, for the first 6/9 months she was very hard work on the liveliness front as she had inexhaustible energy, which she still has, but is now controllable. We've had to work really hard to train her and at times had to be very firm with her as chewing, picking up stones, digging the garden were something we had to constantly be on the look out for!!! We got a cage which she sleeps in from day one which has been a godsend, particularly after a walk when she's really dirty, also when you just want a bit of peace!! I think that you, like us, were used to an old dog and had rather forgotten how lively a pup can be!!!! Having said that, Cas is such lovely girl, she understands almost everything we say to her, and, at last, is pretty obedient and much less lively around the house!! Hope you don't think I'm.being bossy, just sharing our experience!!
Our dinner was lovely, we're now watching 'Alaskan vet'!

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 28 Feb 2016 19:09

No Liz not at all , i know it's going to be hard work with a puppy and as you say we had an older dog and had him for nearly sixteen years so i suppose we got set in ours ways with him ,to have a puppy we know we have to be prepared to doing things differently for a while ,i just don't know if the time is right yet if hubby has to have an op on his hip will we want a puppy getting under his feet ,we have said we think we would have a cage as i'll never forget the time we came home and Bonnie our first dog had stripped a lot of wall paper off the walls in the kitchen :-0
We laugh about it now but it wasn't funny at the time and we did wonder then what we had taken on with her but with time and training she became a lovely dog .

Then some times i think about having a rescue dog ,there's so many needing a home , i don't know we'll just have to see ,i think i'am still missing Toby a lot .

Really chilly out now i expect there will be another frost tonight .

Well I have been no trouble !!! I turned on my radio with the earphones and listened to the Man Utd match. when that finished it was the Man City V Liverpool in the cup final. Liverpool had three penaltirs saven in the shoot out. In between matches I cooked and dished up the dinner. I got most of the washing up down and ried all thr saucepans, Ros finished off and cleaned down.

Now watching Country File. then Churchill, before going to bed.

Getting another pet is very difficult Mandy. You think they will be like your last one, which they never are. From Childhood I think I have had NINE dogs and TWO cats. everyone were different in their own way. I have loved and enjoyed every one of them, but I think we are to old for another now.

Jane you bet I take the cats business to the owner. They are left to get on with life the best they can. She was just the same when she had THREE DOGS. Everyone around here are fed up to the teeth with them. !!!

Have a good evening all, what's left of it, see you tomorrow.

Anne Report 28 Feb 2016 20:27

The rest of the day has gone quite smoothly, I did think at the time this is bit like a Brian Rix farce :-D :-D.

I'm like Jess in that I don't eat beef or any other red meat so have a lot of chicken
but I don't mind lasagne or cottage pie plus bacon and sausages.
I think I look like you imagine Jane because I remember you saying you saw my brother on the ACE tours web site, we do look alike in fact someone asked once if we were twins as he is seven years younger than me I was quite pleased, not sure if he felt he same way.

Frank Conrad must be feeling very pleased with himself does he get paid commission?

Mandy it is difficult deciding when to get another dog after losing a much loved pet,
we said after we lost Rosie no more boxers but after about 3 months we decided we had something missing at home and bought Amy which we have never for once regretted. she had a cage in the bedroom for a long time and as we had a static caravan as well at the time we had another one there for her. She went to puppy training classes and learnt all the usual stuff plus mixing with all the others which was fun to watch..

I'm pleased Sandra is feeling better and hope she enjoys her dinner.

We have a new baby in the family born yesterday she is called Evie Rose and weighed over 9lbs she is the daughter of my great nephew which makes Bo, Peter's elder sister a great grannie. Diane, his younger sister has a great grand daughter Phoebe Iris she is one year old today, which is Peter's birthday.

Our two cats seem to use our garden which has plenty of large areas of dirt. I expect Ros's new planted garden was too much of a temptation. We have squirrels digging up bulbs sometimes or to bury nuts which next door leaves out for them.

The steak went down well with chips, fried tomatoes and portabella mushrooms..

Gillx

Gillx Report 28 Feb 2016 21:09

Pleased to hear the rest of your day went smoothly Anne. Congratulations on the birth of Evie Rose, what a lovely name.

Sandra is definitely on the mend, so it must of been a 24 hour thing where her temperature was concerned, her throat is still sore though, so I'll have to keep an eye on that, if it gets any worse I'll take her to the doctors. She's had quite a bit of sleep today which seems to be doing her good.

I've got sore eyes at the moment so I've just had to put some drops in them. I think it's my new mascara I've only used it twice and both times my eyes have been sore so I don't think it agrees with me. They've stopped making the one I usually use, so I'll have to buy another brand and hope that is okay, I can't carry on using the new one if it makes my eyes sore.

Well, I'm off to bed now, I'm so tired it must of been all the fresh air when I was gardening. So I'll say goodnight and see you all tomorrow.

This is the first time I have been back onthe pc.

What a lovely name Evie Rose and what a weight too 9lbs is big.

Pleased to hear Sandra is feeling better now Gill. I hope her cough goes quickly as there is nothing worse than a tickly cough. You just can't seem to get rid of them.

Mandy you will know when the time is right to get a new puppy or dog. I am sure you will make the decision when the time comes.

I wonder if Ann has heard anything on the little calf. I have been thinking about it all day.

Have you been to see FIL today and how is he now? Is he back in the home yet?

Well I have been busy all day as oh went out and cut the grass for the first time this year which left me indoors to do what I wanted. I did three lots of washing which all dried outon the line and smelled lovely when I BROUGHT IT IN . Sorry.........

Then I cleaned the bathroom which I meant to do the other day but it did'nt get done then so now its nice and clean and fresh. This afternoon I cut oh's hair which needed it badly as it had grown quite long so it was a longer job than usual. I have watche da film tonight on the new plug in thingy, Effie about John Ruskin and his marriage.

I am now going to watch Call the Midwife and then I shall be off to bed so see you all in the morning.

Night night.

Morning to you all, Evening Kim,

Sunshine and no wind this morning, makes A NICE CHANGE. (SORRY)

I had a nice kipper for breakfast this morning. Makes a nice change now and then.

Ros has sorted though mountains of papers that have beed stored beside the Microwave, old, and I mean old, hospital letters, doctors appointments, Credit card statements (all nil balances) Bank Statements. and gawd knows what. The shreader is working overtime, and keepd getting bunged up. ;-) ;-) ;-) She's not happy !!!

Conrad is part owner of the Company. Most of the profits are plowed back into buying new land for the developments of new properties. They are also agents for selling 2nd hand properties. He can only spend so much time in Spain, or he wouyld have to register there as a citizen.

I sent you all the email I received from Maureen this morning. All these new babies will make JANE BROODY !!! Remember the date Folks <3 <3 <3

Did anyone see Churchill last night. I thought it was a good two hours of entertainment.

No plans for today, apart from injection at 4.00 pm.

Enjoy this weather, I think SPRING is round the corner. !!!

Lovely here too Frank.I have lots of windows open to give the place a bit of a fresh air after being shut up for so long with the cold weather.

Yes the 29th Feb..I proposed to Chris on this day in 1980 :-D.I thought I had better as I think it would have taken him for ever to ask me lol

What a pretty name Evie Rose.I like Phoebe too..It is a family tradition to chose names of flowers as middle names Anne? Or are they family names?

Frank your garden is looking spectacular already !!!!!.

MY Neighbour(who I thought might be in Australia is actually sitting on the top of her bungalow roof, scraping off the moss !!!!!!!!!!!!..She must have great balance.I certainly couldn't do that.

Just going to have a coffee with Chris now and then he is going to put together the mini manger on legs for all the herbs that I want to plant at some time.

What a busy housework morning I've had!! We're having visitors tomorrow so I thought I'd better give the place a bit of a birthday!! and guess what, it turned into a spring clean!!! I felt so cross earlier, but now I'm glad it's all done!
We recorded 'Churchill' Frank, as we're watching 'The Night Porter', which is excellent, really really good! We're also watching 'Trapped' on Saturday evening, which is brilliant too.
Ian asked me to marry him after two weeks aquaintance, and I said No!! I was going out with someone else and I was only 19, so he was told to go away!! He persevered, and here we are 52 years later!! My S.Father proposed to my mother the first evening he met her, and was told the same thing!! He also persevered, she asked my opinion (aged3!) I said to go for it, well, we needed to settle somewhere, we couldn't be nomads for ever!!! so she did! and they had 39 happy years together till death took them in 1986/7.
Not a bad day here, washing on the line, hopefully it'll dry!
