Afternoon all,
Dry today and the sun has been shining but it's still chilly out ,oh i just looked up and i can now see spots of rain on the window .
Family came this morning and bought me some nice pressies ,i had a lovely flowery Trowel and Garden Fork set, a mug with a mix to make a cuppa mug cake and some chocolates and a card .
We nipped out to Roys and bought a new china dogs bowl ready for Max i think the china ones are better as when they are little they tip the lighter ones over . We saw some Doggie pads on offer so i bought some of those ,we have never used them before so we'll see how we get on with those in case of the odd accident . I also got a nice fleecy blanket . Yesterday son was given a lovely fabric folding pet crate from DIL's family that had never been used so that will do Max until he gets a little bigger it all closes up so he can sleep in it or it can be carried .
Lovely photo of the Buzzard Ann ,i can see the remnants of his meal !! Hope you had a better nights sleep last night .
Gill, i was stiff after doing some gardening ,it's a good idea to sort out the plants you want to take with you ,it does sound as if the chap is really keen on your place and it's good they can rent the place where they are now for an extra month in case needs be . Poor Sandra it sounds like she might need some antibiotics like you had to help her ,hope you can get an appointment for her tomorrow .
Liz that's a lovely pot of bulbs you have there they should make a nice display when they all flower . Nice big field for Cas to run in ,i bet she flies like the wind when she gets going ,has she got one of those ball launchers ?
David i meant to say i've never heard of Willicks , we use to have Winkles are they the same sort of thing ? not that i liked them, you have to use a pin to get them out of the shell .

Ann by the looks of the way that other crow is sitting by the buzzard I would say thats the crows mate he had for breakfast. I can see a black wing about the right size hanging from its talon.
Liz love the bulbs and cards you received.
My free daffs have opened a bit more today.
Mandy you just can't resist buying things for a new puppy can you. Same as a new grandchild you see something and think that would be nice for so and so.

I know buzzards have to eat Ann, but it breaks my heart to see another bird having to die. Let's hope it was quick. That's the only thing I don't like about wildlife, but it's natural to them I suppose......sad though :-( :-(
Your daffs are lovely Liz and something you can keep for years to come. They are such a cheery flower and remind me that spring is finally here, pity the weather doesn't reflect it though, it's trying to rain here and is still quite cold. Pleased to hear your daff's are opening as well Mel.
It sounds like you've doing well getting everything ready for little Max Mandy, he's so lucky to have you. How nice of DIL's family to give you the folding pet crate, that will come in handy :-) :-) I've just found a nice house close to the shops in the next village but it's slightly out of our price range so we might have to get a small mortgage, it was nice of our buyers to offer to wait another month beyond their six month rental contract, they said they can rent month by month after the 18th May, so one more month isn't to bad. Yes the cough Sandra has is starting to make her ribs hurt now, just like it did with me, so I think it's time to let a doctor check her out. She is better than she was, but just can't seem to shift this cough and it's starting to get her down now.
Still no Frank, hope the journey down was okay for him and Ros and it's not to long before he's back on here :-)
Going to watch Mr Selfridge now. I'm getting through the programmes I've recorded..... slowly ;-)

Afternoon All,
Happy Mother's Day to you mums and you are right Mel, our hubbies are just like children at times. :-) There were other crows perching close to the Buzzard too. I thought they might be hanging about for any scraps left! I thought it was a Pigeon it had eaten as I had photos the other day of over a dozen Pigeons in the same trees.
Gill, if that man is that excited about your bungalow I doubt they will change their minds. :-) Sandra loves an 'occasion' when there are cards and presents to open doesn't she, bless her! Your sweet peas were a lovely idea. It's a good idea to get Sandra checked out at the docs. These chest infections seem to be nasty ones this winter. One of my beading friends who is using the same house clearance chap we used to clear MIL's house told me on Friday that he has pneumonia after getting a chest infection so isn't doing their clearance himself. He seemed as fit as a flea and strong and slim, doesn't smoke, so not the sort you would expect to go down with that.
Yes I had a good sleep last night thank you Mandy. I think my mind has been whirring more with what's going on lately. Your gifts sound lovely! I used to have a recipe for a chocolate pudding made in a mug in the microwave that was nice. Let us know what your mug cake is like!
Next to the garage that's on a corner down the road is a wide and deep piece of grass that has a swathe of those lovely tete a tete dwarf daffodils every year and they are in full bloom now. When I went out today I noticed a man was there bent over and picking them!! Do you think he'd forgotten it was Mother's Day?
We went down the road for lunch and to use our last 2 for 1 voucher. Ten minutes after we got there folk were pouring in for Mother's Day and tables were being pushed together. OH called it a 'Mother's Day Scrum!!!' lol The noise with everyone talking loud enough for everyone else to hear what they said, then the musical chairs while they decided and changed their minds where they were sitting!! After a while a little boy got fascinated with us and gravitated to the chair next to OH where OH's coat was draped and started lifting up the pocket flaps and pulling at the lapels. OH wasn't too impressed, as although the little mite's actions were innocent enough, he could see his pocket contents might disappear! When I looked at the adults that were with him they were all plugged into their mobiles!! :-S
Mandy you have got some good things ready for Max. The heavier dish sounds far better than a metal one he can tip over. I was at a garden centre today and looked at the pet's bit with all the dog things. There were some lovely collars and leads and little harnesses in different patterns and colours.
OH spent most of the afternoon with his dad at the home. He's gradually fading away, not able to talk or swallow and hardly opens his eyes now. A more comfy adjustable bed is arriving this afternoon so he can be propped up easily. OH said the carers couldn't do more for him and they all keep checking on him and the district nurse has left instructions for keeping him comfortable and will pop back if needed.

Afternoon All We are just back from Cambridge. We did have a lovely lunch ,but literally just as we were called through to our table James had a call from Jess to say that her Grandad had just passed away :-( :-(. So it did put a bit of a dampener on things. He is on the phone again now so I don't know if he is going to drive down to Kent or not yet. I bought a new perfume ,nailvarnish and a lipstickThe perfume is an Estee Lauder called Modern Muse.I have never had an Estee Lauder before as I have alsways found them quite a strong scent but this is just right I think.
I haven't looked at the posts yet other than to see your last post Gill..That is great that your buyers are prepared to rent a bit longer if needed to give you a bit of extra time. I hope you can get the small morgtgage you might need for the place you have found. Have you been to have look at it ?
Will just have a cup of tea and have a read through the posts ans emails now.

No we haven't got a ball launcher Mandy, as Cas tends to leap in the air to catch things and we're a bit wary of her twisting and hurting herself, so we just let her run around. I think the big field is coming to an end as the horses are due to go back out, maybe tomorrow.??. So it'll be back to Merlin's field, which isn't as big but has to do!! We kept quite a few things that had belonged to Millie, including her soft bed, leads and her bowls, Cas loves the bed!!!! Sorry to hear of the sad events Jane and Ann. Thinking of you.

I don't know some mothers just don't watch their kids enough do they Ann. I would never have dreamed of letting Martin do anything like that with someone elses clothes. What is the world coming to.
Glad you had a nice day Jane and enjoyed your lunch. What a shame James got the call about Jess's grandads death to put a damper on things. Hope Jess is ok and not too upset as I know she thought a lot of her grandad.

Evening all. Haven't read any posts. Have beeb waiting for Jan to connect me to the internet down here.
Friday morning I think I had another slight stroke. I lost the use in my right hand and my leg keep giving way. I had just got out of the shower, I wrapped myself in towels and laid on the sofa until Ros got home. I was dry by then. She helped me dress and wanted to take me to A & E. I said NO. let me rest a while, then get me in the car. I can rest on the journey.
The sat nav. decided to have an IFFY, and took us on a massive detour of Oxford, I saw places that I have never seen before. It decided to get us on the M3 at somewhere near newbury. The weather threw everything at us, from sunshine, rain, hail and SNOW. The M4 was at a total standstill and the M5 was not a lot better. What was usually a three and a half hour trip took over FIVE HOURS. To say the least we were both at our wits end by the time we got here in the dark.
I just rested myself yesterday while the girls went out shopping and had lunch. Today Jo and Jan treated us to lunch out at a Mitchalline (SP) Star restaurant. I won't tell you the prices and In all my life I have never paid £5.50 for a bottle of beer !!!
We have sat around this afternoon and I had a few zzz.
I am very reliant on my stick both indoors and out. As for the stairs, I try not to use them other than come down in the morning and up again at night. Even though it's nice being away, I am looking forward to being home again.
Will read your posts soon, even though they will be out of date now. ;-) ;-)
I trust you are all well. the weather is very cold today.

So you don't mind a house then Gill i wondered if it was only bungalows you were looking at ,it would be nice for you to be nearer the shops though ,i suppose if you extended your search area further out from where you are you would then be getting further away from OH's work .
Fancy those people letting their child touch other peoples property ,that's not on they should have been watching them ,son and DIL wouldn't let any of theirs do some thing like that ,they have to sit properly at the table with no running about like you see some children do in restaurants . I must admit Ann i did look at the collars and saw some nice ones but we're going to leave that until we get him home as i have no idea what size he will need ,they all have little coloured collars on now so i expect he will come home with that on and then i can measure round his neck and get the right size .
Liz i have kept Toby's last bed ,i kept it as we had only bought it a while ago and it is like new but it will be much to big for Max for a while ,he would look really lost in it .LOL
Poor Jess that's sad news i was going to ask how things were , did you have some thing nice to eat at Jamies ?
OH my goodness Frank you really should have let Ros get you checked out at the hospital , that journey must have been a bit stressful taking all those hours ,you take care now and don't be over doing things down there .

Sorry to hear about Jess's granddad Jane, you said they were close didn't you? She must be so upset. Did James drive down to see her in the end? I'm glad you had a lovely lunch, even after hearing the sad news.
I agree with Mandy, Frank, you really should of gone to the hospital for a check up and being on your own might not be a good idea until you know what happened, just in case something similar happens again and you need help. Could you not nip to the hospital now and see a doctor, even if it's just to put your mind at rest. You sound like my OH, he hardly ever goes to the doctor and has left things to late a few times which has resulted in him ending up worse, so maybe it's better to be safe than sorry. You know we all worry about you, so please take care and look after yourself <3
I would never let my children touch anyone's clothes Ann, or anything that belonged to someone else when they were little, if we ever went out anywhere they had to stay with us and be polite. It sounds like the parents didn't even noticed what their child was up to.
No we don't mind a house Mandy, we are looking at bungalows and houses on the internet but we have to wait until OH has a day off work before we can view anything, which is very time consuming as the properties we have looked at so far are empty so we have to fit in with when the Agents can show us around as well. The house I've found today we can't view until Friday. It doesn't help with the car needing to go for it's MOT tomorrow as we're pretty sure it's going to fail on a few things like the exhaust and emissions so we'll have to take it back for a re-test once they have been sorted out.
OH is only off for three days next week and they're not together, so not much time to fit everything in as we've got to get the forms back to the solicitors, visit mum before she goes back to hospital on Wednesday and do some shopping, on top of the MOT and we're also hoping to view another property on Tuesday if the car doesn't have to go back to the garage. We seem to be meeting ourselves coming back at the moment.
Hopefully things will slow down a bit soon, then we'll have more time for searching and viewing properties. We're really lucky that our buyers are so understanding but we don't want to take advantage of their good nature by taking to long to sort things out, they have already been kind enough to say they will pay one months extra rent to give us a bit more time so we don't want to upset them by asking for another month. OH only has one day's holiday left as well. If we'd known we were going to go under offer then he would of kept a few more days holiday free. This years holidays don't start again until April. Everything seems to be happening at the same time and I've also got to get Sandra to the doctors, so lots to do and not much time to do it all in :-( :-(

Well here Isit in the kitchen while they all watch T.V.
I have read the posts, and am so sorry to read of the recent deaths. I do hope FIL eases away in a nice quite way Ann. It will be the best way to go
<3 <3
Glad things are moving in the right direction for you Gill, and that you find a home that you will like.
All ypu Mums seemed to have had a nice day with your presents and lunches out.
That certainly wasn'y good of the paents ignoring a child going throught your OH pockets, little blighter !!!!
Jan has just made ham sarnies for me, so I am eating them while I am on here, with a beer.
I do tend to use salt in cooking, but in moderation, I only use pepper on my dinner. But salt and vinegar is a must for F & C.
The winkles were a tea time favourite when we were kids, The fish stall was always outside the village pub Sunday lunchtimes, and Dad would bring home a selection of shelled fish for Sunday tea.
I will go in the lounge in time for Dr. Stone that starts at 9.00 pm.
We will leave here Thursday Morning to come home. Conrad is due back here Wednesday evening. Him and Jan are then off to Manchester on Thursday for a big Property Exibition for Fri. Sat and Sunday. I have told you all this before JANE ;-) ;-)
I ment to tell you that Kims daughter put a message on FB that her mother had been taken into hospital. I did respond to it and sent her my love.
I still can't think what the doctor is concerned about, but I know it'sa finger up the bum job when I go back. !!!
See you in the morning.

Ann it does sound as if your FIL is fading fast it must give you peace of mind knowing he is being well cared for. A lot of parents these days don't seem to worry about what their children get up to when I think about Mark being such a handful when he was that age we never let him annoy other people..
Jane poor Jess losing her granddad, was it first close family death she has experienced. You have had a nice spend up to pamper yourself with. Did you get a different colour nail varnish from usual?
Frank. I hope you are feeling stronger now, you must look after yourself. The journey you both had sounded awful, the weather couldn't have helped either.
Liz your daffodils in their pot look lovely. Cas is a lucky girl having 3 walks a day and such a large field to play in. We have one of those ball launchers for Amy but gave up using it as she got side tracked a lot and we would end up getting the ball ourselves.
Mandy not long now before you bring puppy Max home, he is going to be a lucky boy. I used to love shopping in Roys when we were in Norfolk. My SIL lives in Norwich she is the widow of Peter's brother that died very young.
Gill I hope Sandra will be better soon she sounds like a lovely caring girl, bless her. It must be a nice feeling knowing you have sold your bungalow to a nice couple, you are going to have a lot to think about now.
The weather here hasn't been too bad today, not like yesterday which was dreadful rain, hail and sleet plus very cold.

He is a naughty boy not getting checked out before that long journey. Ros should have insisted especially as they are away from home for a few days. Hope you feel ok now Frank and am sending lots of love and wishes. Take it easy and enjoy your rest away and don't do anything to strenuous.
Glad you enjoyed your day Jane and a nice meal with the family and hope Hannah has a nice birthday. Gordon too. Is it this week?

Morning all
Sunny here again today, but still very cold.
I'm quite disappointed this morning. I tried for 10 minutes to get through to the doctors only to be told there isn't any appointments. I said I needed one for Sandra for this afternoon as we are taking the car for it's MOT and won't have any transport this morning, so she told me to ring back at 2pm for an emergency one for later today, apparently she couldn't book in a later one this morning which is why I have to ring back. OH said if we can't get Sandra in today then he'll take her to the out of hours surgery at the hospital tonight. I hope it doesn't come to that as it takes ages to see a doctor there and it will be even colder once the sun goes down.
OH hurt his back in work yesterday, he said it just went on him, he has a bad back from an accident he was in when he was 15 so has a lot of problems with it, so it looks as if he's going to be off work this coming week. He's still okay to drive so is still taking the car for it's MOT in a few hours and said he will book it in for the re-test on Wednesday as he'll have to take it for a good run tomorrow to sort out the emissions. He already knows the exhaust needs sorting.
I'm making a start on the solicitors forms today and if I manage to finish them we'll drop them off at the solicitors tomorrow, I would also like to see my mum and OH's mum tomorrow as well. My mum is back in hospital on Wednesday so I'd like to see her before then and OH had to work on mother's day so he wants to take some flowers to his mums, she doesn't live by us so that'll be the run the car needs for the emissions as well. So all in all it looks like we're going to be very busy this week as we are seeing a mortgage advisor on Friday as well. I just hope our buyers surveyor doesn't want to come round this week as so far I've only got Thursday free. We are hoping to book in some viewings on Friday after we have been to the bank and we're also meeting up with two builders on Friday at the bungalow we found the other day. Not sure when we're going to fit in some sleep LOL
I haven't read the posts yet, so will do that later when I've done the solicitors forms.
Hope everyone is fit and well today <3 BBL

Morning my sweets, Evening Kim,
Quite a nice mrning here but I only poked my nose out the back door and thought it was cold. That might just be me, as I have been twitching and shaking a lot this morning.
The girls are going to Exeter later, so I will have a nice quiet day on my own. I think Jo will be working in her saloon, so I won't be alone.
I have been up and down stairs THREE times today. Once for my COT. Then for my shower, and then to get dressed, after breakfast.
I did have a laugh yesterday. Ros and I left the restaurant and waiting for Jan, Jo and Ella to come out. Jo was talking with the owner and another woman who are clients. We got in the car and Jo said that woman I was talking to is really a man. I said to Ella, that I wasn't a man I am a woman and my real name is FRANCIS. She laughed so much I thought she was going to burst. Then I said tomorrow I will wear my BIKINI when you get home from school. She then colapsed across Ros's lap with laughter. <3 <3 <3 <3 The teaRS WERE RUNNING DOWN HER CHEAKS (SORRY)
I am still having trouble with this keyboard, Jan even said it's out of allinement with most other keyboards, and she is an experienced typist. (So what chance have I got)
How are the health problems around the Country ??? I hope that most are feeling better.
Mandy, I can just see you with little Max, I really would like another pet. But it's times like this, when we can just get away, that would be difficult.
Clouds are building over the sea nw, so I expect we wil get a shower or two.
I will pip back later, to see what you are all up to.
