Ann, Ian sometimes, well quite a few times, has the same irritating habit of saying who somebody was in a former programme!! Last night he informed me of who Maggie Smith was in Downton!! (We were watching the Lady in the Van!!) Bearing in mind I know that! he got short shrift as you can imagine, as its not the first time!!! Much better day here, Cas got a nice long walk, and Merlin is in the bottom half of his field, so he's happy!! Going shopping tomorrow, as the hunt is up here today and we like to keep a bit of an eye open, so as we can get.Merlin back in if necessary. Hope the birthday people have a lovely day, and that Frank has a safe journey.

Morning All,
Thank you o behalf of OH for your birthday wishes!! <3 :-) Best wishes too to the other birthday people. :-D
I took OH out for breakfast this morning and we had a right game going less than a couple of miles with roads being closed because of the floods. It meant EVERYONE was detouring on the same roads. I was going to cut through the village but a road was closed so I had to turn back and go down the main road which was snarled up with traffic. Then when we got to the place after driving through water that was all across the road, it was closed again!! It's the nice place that closed for weeks after the salmonella scare and then was closed again later for work on the drains. Goodness knows what is wrong this time but we were given vouchers again for a free meal. Luckily there is a little cafe on the same industrial park so we went there instead. OH has carried on from there to go and see his dad. Yesterday he didn't know OH again and was very restless for a while. The home said he'd had a restless night and they are getting the district nurse to check on him and it looks like she may give him something to prevent siezures that the home is concerned about.
I must skedaddle now to get my hair cut and lowlights!

Mel, the marmalade brooches and stickers went by the board years and years ago!!!! Be careful typing the G.... word, the P.C brigade might be out and about. My mother had a draft excluder many years ago and that was a G.... It had to go!! I remember children's books of mine that were very unPC!! again they are now well hidden and not read to grandchildren!!! Salad again for supper, New potatoes, and smoked Salmon.

I don't like smoked salmon but oh loves it.
Oh is pressure washing the decking as I type.
It is lovely and sunny without a wind and just a gentle breeze and really quite pleasent out.
Frank and Ros should be nearly home by if the traffic is kind to them. Better to come home on a Thursday than a Friday when everyone on the roads are trying to things done before the weekend.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to GORDON and HANNAH. Hope everyone is having a good day. I haven't done much apart from taking Amy out and putting away my Sainsbury delivery. I sat down earlier and was doing a suduko puzzle when about 30 minutes later was woken up by the telephone ringing it was only the usual pre recorded PPI cold call so don't know how much longer I would have slept for.
We have had light drizzle of rain nearly all day up until now.
Lets hope Frank & Ros have a better journey home than they had going down.
Just been watching Escape to the Country which took place in Kent in an area I know well. Mum and Dad lived just outside Tunbridge Wells when Dad had his business there, they later moved back down to Hastings.

Thank you Anne......it's annoying when you get those calls. When I got home the answerphone was flashing and I thought straightaway it was the Home ringing about FIL. It turned out to be a cold call thing about new boilers!!!
Mel I've been asked to thank you for OH's birthday card. He's put all his cards up and it seems to have perked him up a bit today. He's had a few headaches this last week which isn't surprising. His dad was the same as yesterday when he saw him this morning and didn't seem to recognise him or talk at all. He wanted to have a word with the senior carer but they were all in a meeting.
Well my hair feels a lot neater now it's been cut and coloured. I managed to make my hairdresser burst out laughing so that was good. ;-) It turns out my next appointment will fall the day before we go away in May so that's worked out well.
I'd better go and sort out what I'm wearing for the theatre tonight. It's one I haven't been to before so I don't know if it will be too hot or not. :-S At least my shorter hair will be cooler.

Afternoon Everyone Happy Birthday Gordon <3..So many Birthdays on the same day.I see Frank's Jan has hers today also. I will give Hannah a ring later.I don't think she will be out tonight as she seems to have been out several times over this last week with friends and collegues for Birthday Meals and Drinks..Thankyou for your Birthday wishes :-D
Well I can see blue sky :-D.A bit late in the day though. In fact it has been quite dark at some points today and I have had to have lights on.
Ann,there are several flood warnings still in place around .Billing Aquadrome had to evacuate about 300 caravans !! What a pity that place was closed again this morning. It seems strange now that this is the 3rd time :-S.At least you managed to get somewhere eventually for your Breakfasts :-D.Your purse will be pretty empty now after your hair appointment LOL.I bet your hair looks lovely. :-D My colour will need doing very soon.I m quite lucky as I only have to have it done about every 3 months.
So Frank will probably be back on home ground now.Ros will be checking her garden and Frank might be in the kitchen :-D..Did he say how the show went last night?
Anne I watched Escape to the Country but missed the very end.Did that couple buy the last house? It was fantastic and just inside their budget. They did seem to fall in love with it.They looked very young and I was surprised to see that they had 3 children. Good job the phone woke you up ,even if it was those pesky PPI people .You might not sleep tonight if you had slept on.
Liz,I am like Mel and am not a fan of Smoked Salmon.I always buy some at Christmas thinking someone will eat it and invariably it ends up in the bin :-S :-S
As for people telling you who was what in what films etc......Fitz has to be the worst. Not that he interrupts during a film but afterwards I get a right ear bashing of all the films a particular star had been in ,what parts they played ,how good they were etc etc. The trouble is he is a right film buff and knows every blooming film and every actor /actress,and I have to admit I haven't a clue as to what he is talking about LOL.It is the same with Composers and Classical music. He has so much knowledge and I have very little in these fields.
Talking of the G**** on the Marmalade Pots ..I thought that someone told me that they were coming back :-).I might be wrong though.
I wonder how Gill has got on today with viewings and meetings etc?
I have just put dinner in.It is just Chicken Tonight Jars.Country French white wine cream sauce .I have bulked it out with mushrooms and carrot.I'll do rice with it and Spring Greens.James is going to be late in as he is popping in to see a friend after work.So we can eat first if we want and I will just keep his hot.
Good programme tonight on BBC 2 The Secret History of My Family....It clashes a bit with Extenders,so i will have to decide what to watch and what to watch on catchup tomorrow .

Ian has just asked me what we're watching on TV this evening!!! I've told him to see what's on and we'll take it from there, like we do most evenings, else it's a DVD. He knows this, so why ask?!! I do wonder about him sometimes, and say so!!!! :-S Dull old evening here, but not cold! I haven't heard that Jane about marmalade! I wouldn't have thought so, but you never know. I'm into classical music and the arts too, Jane. Ian is but not as much as me, as engineering is his 'love', (ever practical!!) but we both love folk music and neither of us are pop fans at all!! Son is the same as me, daughter not so much, more practical like her Dad!! I'm not that knowledgeable, but a bit. Must feed Cas.

We are home safe and sound. We followed Conrad and Jan throughto the M 5 They turned off and we followed. It turned out he had forgotton a lot of things for the exibition, so he had to go back and we rejoined the Motorway. We left at 12.10 pm and with two stops we were home by 4.30 pm. Madam has got a very heavy RIGHT FOOT, and we had words quite a few times when she was doing "NINETY M. P. H.!!!! I kept calling her "LEWIS HAMILTON" which didn't bode well.
I was most surprised to see all the floods around Oxford, we crossed the Isis and Thames and they were in full flood, as were the fields all around.
We woke this morning to BLUE SKY'S and no wind. The weather got darker the further north we came. I know it's nearly 5.30 pm but it looks like we might get rain later.
Sorry to hear your FIL has gone backwards again Ann, Lets hope tomorrow he improves again.
Happy Biirthday to all you people, if I haven't allready said so.
Ros is choir pratice tonight. Man Utd are playing Liverpool, s you kow where I will be, I think I will need a couple of painkillers (a) to get rid of my headache and (b) to relieave the pain in my knee. Sitting for 4 hours hasn't agreed with it.
Hows the chicken Mel ?? still holding on, or have you rung her neck. Let's hope she in no pain.
Liz, You nearly had company today, I an sure we saw a turn off to your village/town. But with no address, or notice they we were calling. I thought better of it. Mel, next time we are in Paington, we will have to try to find a day to drive out and see you. I must remember to put "MY LITTLE BOOK" in the case with the addresses in and your telephone number !!!
We stopped for a coffee and pastie from Greggs at a service station, I now don't feel like eating. Might have a Cheese sandwhich after the pub. ;-) ;-)
David another one was "GO SUCK A ZUBE" ;-) ;-) ;-)
Monday evening I was having a pint at the pub, watching Arsenal V hull with a chap from TONBRIDGE, I said OH TUNBRIDGE WELLS, No he said that's next to us, I didn't know that.
Going to catch the local and National news for 6.00 pm, so will sign off. !!

Chicken was put out in the sunshine this afternoon and she tried to walk around a bit but her left foot is still closed up and she kept putting it on the ground and then lifting it up again but I settled her against the house in the sunshine and she was quite happy to sit and warm herself.
I have just been round there as the suns down a bit now but she had got herself into the house and was in the far corner so I had to take the perches out and get her back to the corner by the door on a new bed of shavings. Positioned the water by her which sheilds her from the other two hens and popped some food in front of her so she is settled now for the night. She looks in such lovely condition and has all her feathers shining in the sun and her cone is not dull and mauve looking like they are sometimes when they are on the way out so I am hoping she will just past away peacefully.
Frank glad your home safe and sound. I have a friend who lives in Tunbridge Wells who keeps alpacas (sp).

Evening all,
It's been a lovely sunny day here so nice to see blue sky after all the rain we had yesterday .
Hope all the birthday people have enjoyed their day ,have a nice evening at the theatre Ann and OH .
I saw all the flooding your way on the news Jane looks really bad . I watched Escape to the Country, they were lovely properties ,the size of the second one :-0 but my favourite was the mystery house ,they didn't buy it in the end i think the travelling would have been too much .
Hubby managed to get on the loft ladder to reach in and get a dogs bed that Toby had when he was smaller ,i gave it a wash as it's one of those hard plastic ones now it just needs a nice comfy mattress .
Glad you got home safe and sound Frank you'll be glad to get back to your own bed tonight and no stairs to climb .
So chicken is hanging on Mel ? poor old girl ,but you've given her a few extra years that she wouldn't have had so she's done well.

Mel, I don't know Chiddinngstone very well but we used to drive through it now and again when out for a ride round when visiting Mum & Dad.
Dad's business is still in Grovesnor Road, Tunbridge Wells, same name BaileyWighton Ltd.He sold it when he reached retiring age. His business partner was Ren Wighton, he was only in his late 40's when he dropped dead in the shop with a heart attack. Dad tried to revive him while a member of staff rang 999 but to no avail. It was close to when Dad's sister died, my Aunt Keturah who had breast cancer she was 56.
I'm pleased you are home safe and sound Frank, enjoy your football.

Morning Mel and All, Evening Kim,
Thick FOG here this morning and quite nippy. We had 10/11 degrees in Devon, so a shock to the system here.
We are both completely bushed today.Ros's right thigh is very painfull. I suppose siting all that time didn't help. As for me, my knee feels like it will give out on me if I am on my feet too long. I have taken to useing my stick around the house. Thank goodness I don't have any stairs to worry about.
For those of you on FB. you will see the "BLISWORTH WATERFALLS" They had over a months rain in 24 hours, and the high fields along the Canal let all the rain gush down into the canal. What a sight. They say that the canal rose over 12 inches and has now returned to normal. (MISSED ALL THAT).
Ros put a coloures wash on this morning, which I have got out and spread around the radiators, and hung my shirts on hangers in the bathroom.
I am doing Sirloin steaks, mushrooms, onion rings, peas, and peppered sauce with homemade chips for dinner tonight. It will be nice to get a good meal inside us.
I hope everyone is well, I'm off for a shower. See you later.
