I'm here !!! No I haven't been sleeping this afternoon, hopefully I will sleep better tonight.
Ros has been making covers all day today. She wanted to carry on in the garden, but it's so drab and cold she decided against it.
I have some nice minted lamb chops for tonight, with Roast spuds, parsnips, brussels, carrots and peas and a small amout of broccoli, left over from Sunday.
Nice quiet evening of T.V. if there's anything worth watching, if not I will find something to do on here.
It is quiet on here today. I expect you will all be gassing tonight when I am not around.
I had better go and get the roasts in, or dinner will be late.

Been a very gloomy afternoon here after a nice morning. Our son is buying some land in conjunction with his neighbour at the bottom of their gardens, and we've been getting an update on the hour every hour, well, not quite that often!! on proceedings! He's on the phone to Ian now with the latest update!!! I hope the Quinsy patient is recovering. My Grandfather had a Quinsy in 1949 which was fatal, so yes, it is a very nasty illness to have. He was quite badly gassed in WW1, and it was thought that was the reason for the outcome. Fish for supper tonight, cod in a cheese sauce with smashed potato and frozen peas, easy, again!!! No we haven't watched Happy Valley, not sure why not, just didn't appeal! Eastenders is a big No, No in this house!!!!!

Afternoon All,
Yes that is good news for your hubby to get his appointment through on the 12th April Mandy. Time seems to drag when you are in pain and he needs to get it sorted out. It sounds like your bijoux address in the honeysuckle is going down well with the blue tits and they may nest in there which will be great!
That's good you are getting down to making plans for your place Gill. The more you get it how you want it the more you will like the place. :-) I like the sound of your ideas. None of these talks and things I find to go to are widely advertised Gill, but some are organised by local heritage groups and I go along as a guest and pay about £2. I like things to do with Space too.
Frank it's almost certainly the stairs that have aggravated things for you. My knees are still sore today after those car park stairs when we went to the theatre. Things don't settle down straightaway do they. I am going to the NEC with one of my beading friends and her hubby on Friday so I am hoping they will be better by then. I hope you are able to go for your scan tomorrow.
Well, we got nearly everything done today. The solicitor said we will need probate so that is on the way now. It took half an hour to register the death, but they notify most authorities now so that is less for me to do. The funeral was easy to arrange as we are using the same undertaker and having mostly the same as we did for MIL just over 5 months ago. OH made the undertaker chuckle when he said 'it's not a good sign when you find yourself on first name terms with an undertaker is it?' :-) We've also booked the same place as before for the wake and OH has to go there tomorrow to finalise it and also do a few more errands. Luckily there was one date free for the funeral, a week on Thursday, otherwise it would have been after easter, so we were both pleased it will be over by then. I just need to sort some photos out tonight for the Order of Service and email them across.

Liz,Eastenders is the only Soap I follow.Chris says he hates it ,but he seems to know what is going on lol...
Is it a big plot of land your son is buying? Is it to just add more to his own land or does he and his neighbour have plans for it?.Some years ago now our next door neighbour asked if we would like to buy a bit of his garden that runs across the back of ours.It is a big paved area which had a sunken fishpond. We declined then as our garden was big enough for us.But if we had bought it ,we could have then sold it off to the developers who have just put that planning application in . Talking of fishponds...OMG I can't even bare to think how awful it must be for those parents now who lost their beautiful little boys in that big tank at the back of the house. They looked like Koi fish by the size of them.It seems that the tragedy happened early in the morning. It didn't say how long the family had been in the rented house. It may have just been only days. But that tank should have had safety netting or wire over the top.My heart goes out to them.I just can't imagine the terrible grief that they will be suffering right now .It is just so sad :-(.They will never forgive themselves.
We are getting SO MANY cold calls again at the moment.'tis driving me nuts :-| :-| It seems to go in cycles.I expect soon they will all stop and we will have peace for a few months before it all starts again.Anyone else getting them ?

Ann, that is good to have been able to get the funeral for a week on Thursday. My Neighbour Joan's funeral is not until the 29th ,and Jess's Grandads on the 30th. James is going to have to take a couple of days off work to go down for the funeral and then on the 1st April he and Jess are off to Stockholm for 4 nights. The good thing for you and O H is that everything will be over and you will be able to look forward to your holiday .It is just rather sad that OH has lost both parents in such a short time :-(
Just had fun and games(NOT) with Thomas and a Mouse....I let him in not realising he had a mouthful.I thought his miaow sounded slightly odd.He then dropped the mouse by his food bowl .Still alive :-S..So with a bit of kitchen paper I scooped up mouse and got it outside where Thomas the chased it again ,caught it and ate it :-S :-S..He is out again now ,so I am guessing I need not put any cat food down for him tonight.Just a few bits of dried food .

No Gill there's no camera in the box ,it would be nice to see them in there though ,they have been in and out again today and one of them has been on the hanging basket right close to the conservatory window i thought it was after some grubs in the plants but i think he's pulling bits off the lining of the basket for his nest .
What a find Frank :-0 fancy the money being left all that time ,good job you don't have moths !! :-D hope your knee feels better tomorrow so you can have your MRI .
That's good you will get the funeral all over before Easter Ann ,then you can look forward to your break away .
Jane i love the chocolate from Hotel Chocolat ,we use to have the monthy tasting club chocolates £9-95 a month ,you get to try lots of flavours doing it that way .
Liz, the extra land your son is buying is that for him to build on or just to extend the garden ? I haven't had cod in a cheese sauce for years ,i quite fancy some now .
How did you get on today at the dentists Mel? did the fitting go ok ?

How lovely Jane for Chris to buy some nice chocolates for you too. I hope everything is okay with your blood results when you see your GP tomorrow.
That's nice that your son is buying some extra land, it'll make all the difference Liz. My aunt bought extra land at the bottom of her garden which she uses for her greenhouses, she has quite a few so the land came in handy for her. It sounds like he's very excited, does he have any plans yet for the extra space?
You were lucky to get a date for the funeral before Easter Ann. At least your OH still has his sense of humour as it must be hard for him losing both parents so close together <3
What a shame you don't have a camera in the bird box Mandy, maybe you could get one for next year. Sandra is really looking forward to us putting ours up next year, I just hope it's used or she'll be so disappointed. I must tell her that it might not happen straight away. I remember when she helped her dad make a bird table with a roof, she watched for weeks before the birds used it, then of course the squirrels used it too, so she was made up......bless her. I've noticed the birds collecting all sorts for their nests lately and looking around to see if anyone's watching before disappearing into the hedges. It's quite funny to watch.
I watch Eastenders to Jane, wasn't it sad tonight? I hope the baby doesn't have brain damage. I was surprised when they didn't take him to the hospital straight after the accident and thought then we wouldn't be hearing the last of that storyline.

Morning All,
Lovely sunshine outside at the moment. I've changed the bed and might put the washer on when I've checked the weather forecast! I've had to change the printer cartridges for OH to do some printing for tonight's meeting.....he's out doing errands and at another meeting just now. He knew they needed doing the other day, but still leaves it for me to do.......men eh!!! :-S I've had a flurry of housework this morning, mostly the bathroom and kitchen first as the lady who will be conducting the service will be visiting us to discuss the service in the next day or two. Nothing like a visitor coming to motivate a bit of housework catching up!! lol. I've had a clearout in the fridge too. I tried to email photos to the undertaker, but the system won't load the emails. Also they are doing maintenance for 24 hours from midnight so I hope I can get them sent before then!! :-S
Max is such a little sweetie Mandy and a coat like black velvet! He will steal everyone's hearts! <3 :-D
That was a bonus Chris getting you a box of chocs too Jane! Are any left?? Good luck with your appointment.
No Eastenders here either. Years ago I think I tried to watch it once or twice but didn't like it at all. I liked the sound of your cod in cheese sauce Liz.We sometimes have it in a butter sauce and it is quick and easy as you say and goes nicely with mash. Yes, what is your son planning to do with the land purchase. I have a vision of a stable block for some reason!! lol
Frank, if you didn't miss that much money you must have far too much!!!! lol What a nice find and surprise though.
Better get showered now and check whether the fav carvery is on. If it is I shall take my car and meet OH there to save him coming home as it will be quicker for him to go straight there from where he is. I don't know how we'd manage with one car. He has more errands to do this afternoon before his meeting tonight.

Oh no Ann, nothing to do with stables! ! Our son isn't into horses at all!! His house.is part of a converted stable complex that belonged to an estate that was broken up about twenty years ago, and at the bottom of his and next doors garden is a wooded area that for some reason wasn't included in the original sale It's about 1/2 acre which they would divide. Both son and neighbour are very into wild life and that's what it would stay as. It's all proving a bit tortuous though as the boundaries are a bit vague, and have had to be surveyed properly, also where they live (Surrey) is very expensive for solicitors etc, so he's using our solicitor in Devon who is a lot cheaper!! and, son is a bit like his father, he likes everything done yesterday!!! We shall see!! Not a bad day here but a cold wind. Hope your doctor's appointment went ok Jane, and that everyone else is tickerty boo!!

Morning Ann and all and evening Kim,
Well while you've been slaving away in your kitchen and bathroom Ann I have been fast asleep. I woke up at 11.25am and here I am sitting at the pc drinking my first COT of the day.
Came home from the dentists and shopping yesterday abd I was hungry so we ate a bit late. When it came to the evening and our quick easy meals I just could'nt face mine and did'nt even bother to cook it later. I am making a home made lasagne for tonight. I have bought them in the past but oh said I don't make them anymore and mine are so much better than the bought ones. So thats it make one I will.
The pic of little Max is delightfull Mandy. Thanks for shareing it. He is a cutey so not long now and you will have him home with you and you'll be able to have lots of puppy cuddles and puddles........... :-0
So our Gill is staying put and going to have some home improvements instead of moving. Rosie will be pleased to think she is not losing her nut supplier and San ra will be glad of not losing her little Rosie too.
You must all remember that when you put your nest boxes up they must point toward to north otherwise if they point any other way the babies will get too hot and die inside. Blue tits only have one nest a year unlike other birds who will have a couple of clutches a year. Always clean out the nest boxes each year too as they can harbour creepy crawlies in the old nesting material. Blue tits like moss and feathers for their nests so that why they are having a go at Mandy's basket liners. I have been known to put the fluff out the tumble dryer out for the birds to take for their nest.

Heard on radio 4 this morning about some new tick borne disease that affects dogs and cats that has appeared from the continent, so extra vigilance is needed on the tick front this summer. They're vile things at the best of times, but these sound particularly horrid. It's on the internet for further info. We're moving our nest box as nobody used it last year so this year it's going to a new venue away from the house to afford more privacy!!! Whether they like it or not remains to be seen!!

Afternoon all,
It started off bright and sunny, now it's started to cloud over.
I didn't bother with the MRI again today. I can go anytime to the X ray dept. and wait to have it done.
The money was a very big surprise, We get by on our pensions, and at times that money could have easerly been used up in household expences. As for having to much money. I SHOULD BE SO LUCKY ;-) ;-) ;-) Which reminds me Conrad and Jan still owe me for the loan I gave them the other year.
Jane there's not much chance of putting anymore under the bed. WE DON'T HAVE ANY. ;-) ;-) ;-)
You were up late this morning Mel ;-) ;-)
Liz, Mum use to do Cod baked in the oven in milk and butter. We would have it with Mashed Potato's and Parsley sauce made frm the milk and butter. I can taste it now.
Ros bought me a pot of Jellied Ells at the weekend which I soon ate, and yesterday lunchtime I had a plate of crayfish tails. Which leaves me with Smoked Salmon for today's luch.
I have warned Mandy that I will be travelling to Norfolk to pinch her lovely little bundle. and bring Max home to me.!!!
I have just looked at the date, and it's 58 years tomorrow that I went into the RAF for my National Service. The most wasted two years of my life. :-P :-P :-\ :-\

Well I have had a cup of soup and Smoked Salmon on toast. Hope I can eat my dinner tonight.
I have made TWO leek pies and done the potato's. If Ros doesn't want to freeze it, I will offer it to Tony, as I know he likes them, but don't think either of them make one.
Was considering trying to do the lawns, but I don't really feel up to it. Another days rest won't do me any harm.
Ros has bought be a new SUN LOUNGER. It's a real cracker, even has a sun shade and a clip on tray for my beer !!!So roll on the sunshine. It has it's own zip up cover as well. Got it from QVC. Which she watches with her Jewellery programmes after I have gone to bed. I will have to take the "clicker" to bed with me, then she would be stuck <3 <3 <3 and I might get a thick ear ;-) ;-) ;-)
Well blow me the sun has just come out, and it feels warm through the windows.
Come on Gill, spill the beans, what have you got planed for the first alteration ??? You can tell us, we won't tell the OH ;-) ;-) ;-)
I just looked out and a robin is having a nose in a box, and Blue tites are pinching Ros's basket liners (a bit at a time)!!! I put some fluff from thre tumble dryer on the lawn yesterday, and Ros said they won'y use that it's got a smelly thing on it !!!

We've got an X-Ray dept in our local hospital that has a drop in day on Tuesdays for ordinary X-rays, other than that you have to book an appointment. I'm surprised you can have an MRI though without an appointment Frank. Here you have to see a consultant first who will book it for you at one of the major hospitals. Ian may well have to have one, but we have to see the urologist first. I expect every area is different. Cold wind here but at least it's dry!! We've continued with clearing up outside and at last are getting on top of things! Did anyone see that programme about mummies in the Aleutian Islands in the Bering sea? Really interesting, sort of thing I think you'd like Ann! Also This Farming Life at 7.pm? again very interesting!

Well one of my favorites!!!!! I don't usually like milk choc as I have said before but these are an exception. I like to eat the crust off then bite into the wafer ball.
Jane had choccies yesterday and I had them today. Oh said I can have one box now!!!! Delish............................I am now going to make a pig of myself and have another one......... :-D :-) :-D :-D
