Here I am all X RAYED and fighting fit. When we arrived soon after 11.00 am the two waiting areas were pack with people. I said to Ros be prepared for a lng wait. Ten minutes later I was called in and seen too.Bit painfull getting into the postion he wanted me in ;-) ;-) ;-) but all over in minutes.
We then went on a tour of town for madam to change things and buy a new bra. I stayed in the car, people watching outside a pub. They were all scruff bags, I expect a lot of down and outs, getting a bite to eat and a drink before finding somewhere to sleep the day away. Breakfast was only £2.50 and a pint was £1.95. Northampton is full of people that you or I would never associate with. That's why I never go to town.
We went to Lidl, but the legs of lamb were all gone, only frozen ones left. I settled for a two and a half kilo of prime beef for only £10.00. We bought loads of stuff in there, and I was expecting a bill of over £120.00. But would you believe it was under £85.00. I have told Ros she should tart shopping there instead of Tesco and Morrisons. On the way out she spyed all the pots of bulbs and plants, so off she went again and bought back "KEW GARDENS" She is out planting them as we speak.
We then went off and had lunch, wonderful food as always. The girl behind the bar was so helpfull. I ordered drinks and food, and she bought the drinks to the table for me. The meals took a bit of time, but you know they are cooked while you wait. Not just kept warm and bought out within minutes.
zzz time for me. before getting changed to go out later. Ros is at Choir practice later at 7.00 pm.

When I arrived back oh made me a COT as I was gasping for a drink. We had a belgian bun too..........naughty but nice.
Oh told me not to lwt the banties out today as he had gone to corn the chickens and when he came back the fox was in the archway staring at him. they won't be happy.......

Afternoon All
I forgot we were going out for lunch today with Fitz. What a lovely meal it was :-).We then came back to ours and had a bit more wine.Chris was driving so just had a Pint of Guinness (being St Patricks Day).I have never known him to have Guinness except when we went to Dublin and went to the Guinness Building (not sure I have spelled Guinness right :-S )
Glad you got your X-rays done Frank :-D..I know what you mean about Northampton.I haven't been in the town centre there for several years. So Ros has being buying Bras. I have too.I had two delivered today from M&S.Haven't tried them on yet though.
Gill it sounds like you will have to get a lot of the right advice before you begin alterations in your home. But I am sure it will all be great once it is all done.Bit by Bit is probably the best way :-D
Oh Liz I bet you are pleased Ian's computer is sorted now..I always feel that when something like that goes wrong you almost feel as though it is your fault LOL..Peace Reigns once more :-D
I will take the Vit D for the 12 weeks and then I suppose I will have to go back for another Blood Test.Chris reckons it may be a few months before I get an appointment for Rheumatology.
I see too about Paul Daniels,Frank Sinatras son and also Cliff Mitchelmore. To be honest I didn't even realise Cliff Mitchelmore was still living.I do remember him as being such a lovely person .Other than these well known people, there has been Ann's FIL, my neighbour Joan ,and Mandy's neighbour :-( :-(..Not a good Month.
No food for Chris and me tonight, but James needs feeding ,so I had better get his curry in the oven pretty swiftly .

Evening all ,
It's been a nice sunny day here too ,nearly warm enough to sit out ,you just had to get out of the wind . I did a little bit of clearing up out side ,swept up round the back door and filled the bird feeders up, we're off to get some paint for the out door chairs and table tomorrow ,hubby thinks it's a job he could sit and do ,so if we get the paint it will be all ready when he feels like doing it .
Gill you will need to see if it's a load bearing wall that you want to move ,if it is hubby said you'll need an RSJ put in , he said with a bungalow you haven't got as much weight as you would have if it was a house ,only the roof weight and not the weight of upstairs walls so you won't need such a big RSJ . As the others have said do check about building regs every area is different regarding regs and regs change all the time .
Frank that was good you didn't have to wait for the xray especially as it was so packed in there ,did you give the nurse a wink ;-) :-D
Good job OH saw the fox before you let the Banties out Mel ,you don't want to lose any of your girls.
Like you Jane i didn't know Cliff Mitchelmore was still alive either , and Paul Daniels gone too ,i was never keen on him though . That's quite a few weeks you have to have the Vit D tablets ,if the weather keeps nice you'll have to get out in the sun before it starts getting to hot . Our neighbours funeral is at the end of the month on the 30th ,it seems a long time as he died on the 5th !!
Did you sleep better last night Ann ? just lately i find i've been waking up about 4 o'clock ,i usually get out for the loo and then it takes ages to get off again .

Mandy,Jess's Grandads funeral is on the 30th(he died on the 6th).My neighbour Joan's funeral is on the 29th.It does seem an awful long time between passing away and the funerals.
The sun at the moment will make no difference to Vitamin D .It seems to be summer sun that people need. The Rays from the sun now are too weak apparently to make any difference. Mandy this waking at 4am .I beat you to it. Usually it is 3 something.I try to hang on as long as poss so I don't disturb Thomas. It doesn't work .I sneak back into bed and then a few minutes later I get a MIAOW at the side of the bed :-S :-S so I am up again to grab the torch and get downstairs to let him out :-| :-|..I go back to bed and read for a bit on my Kindle..If I have a 'real ' book I can't put the light on to read as I will wake Chris ,so I trundle off with my book and favourite pillow into the spare bed :-) It would be hilarious to have a night time camera set up in this house !!!!

Yes over three weeks does seem a long time to have to wait and by the sound of things it's the same all over the country .
I'am waiting for when we get Max home i wonder what sort of nights we will have when we first get him home ,fun and games i bet LOL i don't know if i should leave him down here or take him up with me and have his crate in the bedroom ,might be easier than up and down the stairs .
Oh i see so it's the stronger sun light you need , roll on the summer then , we alter the clocks Saturday week ,it will be lovely to have the lighter nights again .

We started MIllie in our bedroom Mandy and she stayed there for 11 years!!! She just howled if we tried to move her! SO - when Cas came she went into our spare room in her cage from day 1. We do live in a bungalow though which made it easier. She cried for the first two nights and then she whimpered a bit, and that was it. After a week we put the cage in the utility room, and she's been there ever since!! We did make sure she had soft teddy from the first night which helped. I didn't want another Millie who just wouldn't be parted from us without howling!!! We started leaving her in the day for half an hour almost straight away. We were only in the garden, but it was just to start as we meant to go on. Now we leave her quite a bit. We were warned about leaving her in the car as they are at risk of being stolen!!!!! Our car cage is locked to the floor, and the door has two padlocks! I know it sounds excessive, but to come out and find her gone would be just beyond awful. Hope these tips are a bit helpful!

I did sleep better last night Mandy thank you. If I have a bad night I find I sleep better the next which isn't surprising I suppose! :-S Now the mornings are lighter I find I'm waking up earlier anyway, but once your sleep pattern goes out of l=kilter it is hard to get back on track so to speak. The dog nextdoor starts barking around 7.00am when he hears the paper boy and then the lorries and their beeping as they reverse starts by about 7.30am. :-S
Gill, you can get a quick idea whether a wall is loadbearing yourselves by looking in your loft and seeing which way the ceiling joists run. If the long joists, which are about 16 inches apart, run parallel with the wall you want to take out, it isn't loadbearing, but if they run across the wall at right angles to it the wall IS loadbearing as it carries the weight of the joists, ceiling and roof. You will be wise to get expert advice anyway, but that is a way you can tell with a quick look. At my previous house we removed a few internal walls, also a 13 foot width of an outside wall to build an extension. We only needed one RSJ in the end for the outside wall. I remember being very worried when first OH propped up the wall with acroprops and wasn't happy till the RSJ was in place!! :-0
So you are taking pills too now Jane!! Will you have to keep them up if they do the trick? You'll have to show a bit more flesh this summer to build up your vitamin D reserves too!! ;-) lol I hope you don't have to wait too long for your Rheumatology appointment. Where did you go for lunch today and what did you have?
Mel, it was a stroke of luck your OH spotted the wily fox before the banties were let out. You'll have to keep an eye open for him now.
I went to a garden centre after meeting OH for lunch and I pulled into a space as someone in a spotless red car like mine pulled in opposite. An old boy with a stick got out and made a beeline for me to have a 'car' chat. He told me to watch out for 'marked cars' which were grey as he had been 'done' recently. Eventually I twigged he meant 'UNmarked police cars' and that he'd been caught speeding. lol. He was smartly dressed in a black leather bomber jacket and had beige suede shoes on (something OH would never manage to keep clean!) and an old but heavy gold watch on his wrist. In between chatting he got out a white hanky a couple of times to polish bits of his spotless car bonnet. He told me his wife had passed away last year and got out a photo to show me. It was in a plastic wallet with a silver heart next to it in the wallet. He said she was aged 80 like him. Well I could hardly rush off then could I. There is an antiques place on the same site as the garden centre and he was telling me about his relations who lived in a big house and had an old fashioned rocking horse that he loved as a boy and had hoped they would leave it to him one day. It wasn't to be he told me, but a few weeks ago he'd been delighted to find and buy a very similar one from the antiques place where we were. He followed me into the garden centre, then stopped to chat to the workmen who are building a new pet centre there saying he was there for lunch today. I pottered on and heard him telling them his wife had passed away last year, so turned and waved goodbye from a distance. When I told OH he said 'you find some right characters' and I said 'no, they find me!' I said 'a little of your time and kindness costs nothing though does it and might make a big difference to someone else's day if they are a bit lonely after losing a spouse' and he agreed.
I'm off to the NEC Hobbycrafts Show after class in the morning. My friend's hubby is taking us. I expect I'll be spending more than I intend again. :-) They do have things there you don't see anywhere else though and there's also an art section so I might be spending there too!!
Off to bed for an early night now and hopefully a good sleep!

Morning all
Cloudy day today, which is a shame as OH needs to finish off clearing the garage before he goes back to work tomorrow.
It sounds like the man just wanted someone to talk to Ann and like you said a little of your time and kindness costs nothing, but probably meant a lot to him. Have fun at the NEC, don't spend to much LOL. Hope you managed a better nights sleep last night.
There's lots of good advice for little Max Mandy, start as you mean to go on seems to be the order of the day. Sandra is looking forward to hearing all about him.
Well, so much for the humane mouse traps, OH put two down last night and the mouse managed to get inside, took the food and got out again without being caught. Not sure how the mouse did it, but the traps have been set up again, hopefully this time we'll catch it. Where's your Thomas when we need him Jane LOL.
You didn't have to wait long for your X Ray Frank, I bet you were glad, all that sitting around wouldn't of been very comfortable and a clean bill of health too ;-) brilliant.
I went onto freecycle last night and found a small shed someone is giving away, so I've messaged her in the hope it hasn't gone and we can have it. I've not heard anything back yet, so don't know if she still has it or not. It would be handy if she rang/emailed me today then we can pick it up this afternoon. We didn't want to spend a fortune on a small shed that is only going to be used for a short period of time, so a free one would be ideal. Fingers crossed we get it.
Off to get a cuppa now before helping OH with his garage.

Morning All and evening Kim,
Beautiful sunny day AGAIN. I can't beleive it I don't have to walk into mud when I feed the chickens now. The ground has dried up a lot. It's so nice not to have to wipe my boots on the long grass when I have fed the chickens.
Hope you find lots to buy today Ann at the Hobbycraft Show, enjoy your self you've earned it with all you've been doing lately. Hope you slept better last night ready for the off today.
Hope you get the free shed Gill and it's in good condition and not too rotted.

Morning Mel
Can we have some of your sun please, it's quite cold here today and even though I'm working it's not warming me up. Glad to hear you're not walking in mud now. If the shed is in to bad a condition then we won't take it. She didn't mention what condition it was in, but I'm not getting rid of her rubbish, we'll only bring it back here if we can use it. OH is going to ask our neighbour if we can put the lawn mower and few other electrical things in his garage until we can sort out a shed, just incase the woman has already got rid of it and we need to buy one after all.
Well, I'd better get back to it, I only came in to check if the woman had emailed me yet and so far she hasn't. She may work and email me over the weekend or this evening, unless, of course she's already given it away.

Mist and murk here that is slowly clearing! Much more peaceful morning! Cas has had a good walk, which included Ian having to take a ladder into the field to climb up the side of the field shelter to retrieve Cas's dummy that I managed to chuck up onto the roof yesterday!!! Apart from Ian collecting the pills and doing a bit of shopping at the village shop, were not doing much today. I think my daffs are finally over, so they'll go up to the greenhouse ready to be planted out. Gill, I've emailed you a pic of Cas to show Sandra - she loves that teddy!!!

Morning all, evening kim,
We have a dim, drab morning here. No sign of sunshine. Send it up Country Mel ;-) ;-)
Good job OH saw the FOX, Didn't he have his gun at hand ??
Gill, Old friends of Ros's decided to knock out a wall many yars ago, and the whole house collapsed araound their ears. So be careful what you try to do without sound advise.
I see Jane is out wineing and dinning again. Have you seen the latest DRINKS allowance you can have ?? 6 pints of beer or 6 glass's of wine a week. One Womam interviewed said I drink that every day !!!
Gawd knows what "PADDY" had yesterday. He was propped against the bar last night in full IRISH DRESS with his tall hat, false beard, and checked green suit. He said he was taken to Northampton at 10.00 am for a gathering of IRISH for their Bacon and Cabbage breakfast. Then did the rounds of the Irish pubs, arriving back in Blisworth about 6.00 pm. He was very polite and sociable, and was wishing everyone a HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY. I wouldn't be surprised that he isn't still in bed now. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ann, I hope you manage to keep those purse strings tightly closed. It must be so easy to see things you like and buy them. Have a lovely relaxing day.
Carolyn was in hospital yesterday having her "CLAW" hand operated on. She didn't go under, so was able to look at everything the surgeon did to her. Not for me I'm afraid, I wouldn't want to see anything !! Ros is going down later to see if she needs any help with anything. John goes in next week to have his other knee done, So they will be legless and armless for a few days.
I can here the hoover rapidly approaching me. so I had beeter move.

Thanks for the pics of Cass, Liz, she's so cute and isn't afraid of the camera is she? Lots of ah's off Sandra when I showed her. Fancy throwing the dummy on the roof, at least she has it back now ;-) ;-)
Have you seen anymore of the FOX Mel, keep an eye out you don't want to lose any of your girls. How's the one who wasn't very well, is she still with you?
I don't think I'd like to see a surgeon working on me either Frank. Hope Carolyn heals well. I did laugh when you said they would be legless and armless, you are funny. Hope all goes well for John too.
We won't be taking the wall down Frank, that's a job for the experts, I wouldn't want my place falling down around my ears. Hope Ros's friends weren't hurt. It must of been so scary and I doubt the insurance would of paid up either.
Paddy sounds a right laugh, bless him. He certainly had a great St. Patricks day but will probably feel it today. I don't envy him :-( :-(
I still haven't heard back from the woman with the shed so it looks like we might have to buy one after all and they're not cheap either. Our neighbour said we can put our lawn mower in his garage and he's going to lend OH a big plastic box to put the rest of his tools in as they are to heavy to put up in the loft. I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel clearing the garage now, so hopefully it'll soon be finished and we can get in touch with the council to remove the asbestos roof.
Well, I'd better get back to it, I'm just bobbing in every now and then to check the posts on here and my emails.
See you all later.

Is'nt it always the same when you are waiting for a letter or email about something and want to get it done quickly. Hope the lady gets in touch with you tonight Gill about the shed.
My Alliums are showing growth. I have never grown them before so shall be interested to see if they do any good.

First things First. Has anyone heard from Fiona ??? I had an email from our Shirl in Canada, concerned that she hasn't seen her on F.B. and as she can't get on the thread (even though Genes have taken her money) she is a bit worried. Does anyone have a Tele. Number ???
What a drab horrible day we have had here today, I haven't put my nose outside the door. Ros has been busy giving the lounge a good spring clean. Furniture all out from the walls. Hoovered everyehere, cleaned the door glass's 15 in each door (two doors) Had the "COALS" from the gas fire out and cleaned them,.
She got herself showered about an hour ago (did all HW in dressing gown) She has now popped round to see Carolyn, to see if there is anything she wants doing or getting.
I didn't think the gun would be too far from the back door Mel, you can't take chances with those little blighters.
I see you have been as busy as me Liz, this weather doesn't give me any reason to want to get up and go. Plus this knee is getting more troublesome, klicking and crunching if I walk on it.
Ros will go shopping for any bits in the morning for her Saturday chat with Martine. she will go to Milton Keynes in the afternoon to pick Lewis up from work. So it will be Chinese takeaway tomorrow night, his favourite.

Afternoon All Another grey and chilly day here. Not one bit of sunshine :-S....
Gill, maybe as you said maybe that lady is at work and will get your message about the shed later.I do hope you manage to get the shed.
Lol Frank,Armelss and legless :-D.I think my BIL might need an op on one of his fingers that is being pulled in towards his palm .I think it is his ring finger
Well I have been to Waitrose earlier to get some nice bread to go with the Tuscan Chicken and Orzo Soup tomorrow when Hannah and her pals come for the Settee and Armchair. Then I had a good search down the backs and sides of the suite to see what I could find.Just a few coins, crumbs and a ton of muck :-S Took the cushions out of the covers and managed to cover the carpet in a pile of feathers !!!.It looked like I had plucked a hundred chickens :-D :-D.The cushions will go into recycle but I will hang onto the covers just incase anyone wants them. The lounge has been hoovered the whole way through so it is all done now ready for the new suite tomorrow.Chris managed to break the wire that plugs the phone in so had to go and buy a new one.(he managed to run the hoover over the wire and it snapped !!!
I bet Ann has had an interesting day at the NEC and I'm sure her purse will be a fair bit lighter now :-D :-D
Ann we went to The Falcon in Fotheringhay yesterday.I had Brie,Bacon and Avocado salad to start, then a stuffed Pork Chop with a Potato Rosti, and various veg. Fitz had Scallops, and then a main dish of Lamb cooked 3 ways.Chris had Shredded Asian Duck Salad and then a Flat Iron Steak..It was all really very good.None of us had enough room for Dessert.
Chicken Kievs,Parmentier Potatoes and mixed veg for us tonight.
Gill that was a canny mouse :-D..Thomas would soon have snapped that one up.Shame you don't live nearer .I could hire him out :-D..I think he must be getting loads of mice at the moment here as he hardly touches any food I put down. I did his flea treatment this morning but he has been licking and licking at his fur.It must taste dreadful.it does worry me that it will make him ill.But the problem with him is that his fur is so thick I find it really difficult to actually part the fur enough to be able to see the skin which is where the Spot On is supposed to go.
Liz when I had my first dog Dodger,I managed to throw many of his toys into trees at the park, and there was no chance of getting them down again.Mine often weren't the one ones either..There was always some toy or other dangling from the high branches :-D :-D

Frank,I have a number for Fiona..If you don't get a reply let me know and I will give her a call over the weekend ..I too have noticed that there has been nothing on FB just lately.I do hope she is ok !!..It is very unusual not to see anything at all on FB.
I can see you next for a Knee op Frank.Chris too is having troublesome knees but he is a very stubborn so and so and won't see anyone :-S.I have to bite my tongue sometimes.
Mel ,I hope Mr Fox stays well away from your Chucks.I hate the idea that it might get a bullet :-SBut I do understand that needs must to save your birds. If you did manage to shoot it,what would you do with the body?
I have just had a phone call from the surgery with a number to ring ,a ref number and Password to book an appointment with Rheumatology.I had the choice of 4 hospitals !! It is all new to me this Choose and Book thing.
My Ears and throat are really itchy.I thin it is the Hayfever time starting :-| :-|
Chris has cleared all the pots away from near the Patio Doors ready for tomorrow. The old suite will go out that way and then the New One come in the same way. There is a narrow side gate to get through first which isn't going to be too easy.I won't be watching lol..I wonder what Thomas will think when his usual seat has gone !!.I shall have to make sure that his new bit is well covered with the blanket as I don't want him clawing the new material !!!..Our lounge is certainly going to look VERY different .
