Oh was very disappointed with the qualifying as they have changed it and it finished before the end of the program. Others did'nt like it either and Bernie did'nt agree with they way it was done.

I'm just starting to watch the F1 now, I rang the builder and left a message for him to ring me back. Thanks Liz for your advice I will take a look online later when OH is watching the F1. I didn't think we'd need permission but we might need building regs as we want to take the side of the garage down to make it the front of the summer house so it'll need a door and windows putting in. I'm sure if a new wall is built you need building regs for that.

I need to ring the council on Monday to book in when the roof can be taken down so I'll ask them then if I can't find the answers online. If ever we decide to sell this place in the future we'll need all the certificates for any work we've had done otherwise you can't sell, so I need to get it right or it could come back to bite me on the bum :-D :-D

I like to see well behaved dogs, I was bitten when I was three so dogs who bark or growl all the time frighten me. I much prefer a friendly dog who doesn't jump all over me. I think Cass is lovely and have taken to her from the first time you showed us all the pictures. I love the way she poses for the camera, she's certainly not shy is she? <3 <3

Just cleared away all the dishes from lunch.Hannah ,Leanne and Chris left about 20minutes ago.They were late getting here as they missed a turning off the Motorway and ended up in Peterborough !!!!.It was nice to meet Leanne properly,she is a lovely girl.She shared with Hannah in the last house but has now moved in with her boyfriend.
Thomas is not impressed with the new seating.He is lying on the floor even though I have put his blanket on the settee which is in the same place as the old one.I am sure he will eventually get used to it. Ann ,he better not start clawing .I will have to keep my eyes peeled .Chris seems to have found his spot in the new Leather Armchair.Now that is very comfortable .I can see a fight over that !

Ann I am surprised the card arrived already.It went in the 4pm post yesterday !!.That is good everything is done now for the funeral.Just a few more days and it will all be over.Just think now that you both will be able to enjoy your Cornish Holiday in May :-D.I expect now you are recovering from all the walking at the NEC and from all your spending :-D

Gill I can't imagine you would need planning permission to change the garage to a 'summer house'.Not that I know anything about these kind of things.But yes best get advice before you do anything.

Liz I am interested as to what Pigeon tastes like.It was on the menu at the Pub on Thursday.Is it a strong tasting meat?

Mandy I quite like the Canal Journeys programme with Timothy and Prunella.I think it is really good that she is still able with the Dementia to be able to still do these journeys.
I watched the programme 'Tribe' this morning.The unseen people from the Amazon.It was brilliant .It is hard to imagine that there are still people in the Amazon who have never been in contact with any 'white ' people.Still hunting with arrows .It is amazing.
I remember as a child having a book about a boy who lived in the Amazon.It was just a story but it was one of my favourite books and has always stuck in my mind(other than The Famous Five etc :-) )

Thank you Gill, that's really nice of you. She is a dear little dog, and if I lived close to you I'd bring her to see you!! I think I told you, we've never ever had a growl from her or any remotely aggressive behaviour, she is a very sunny tempered girl and as you say, not camera shy!!!!! At the moment we are a bit desperate for her to have her first heat!! Once that is done with, we can have her spayed and that's that sorted!! 9 months to a year is usual, but this she is now 13 1/2 months and still we wait!! Problem is that we want to go away in April to stay with our son, and they have two boy dogs! :-S. Difficult to make a date, and if we do its bound to be scuppered!!!
Ian's just put the pigeon breasts in the oven!!

The pigeons were lovely. We skin the breasts, then wrap them in bacon and put them in the oven for about half an hour. They are slightly gameyJane but nothing like pheasant or hare. We're planning to have a repeat performance!!
A new series on BBC 4 tonight. This time it's Danish. Looking forward to watching it!

I should imagine you must be a little worried Liz, if she hasn't come into season before you want to go away, maybe you could go away later in the year, it may of happened by then. The last thing you want is Cass having puppies. Although there is a few on here who would take one of her pups. Isn't there FRANK?? lol ;-) ;-)
I've never had pigeon, it sounds quite tasty.

I've just changed the mouse trap over to a better humane one so hopefully this time round we'll catch the little mouse and be able to set it free in the same field as the last one, it's a few miles away from here, so far enough for it not to follow us home :-D :-D

So Thomas isn't to keen on the new sofa then Jane? I'm sure he'll get used to it in time. It's probably the smell, cats are fussy over new smells aren't they?

I love the way the F1 qualifying is now Mel, it's so much more exciting, but by the sounds of it, because there were 3 minutes left with no cars on the track, it may be put back to the way it was before.......hope not as I found that a bit boring :-( :-(

Our steak was lovely again and so it should be at that price but it was on offer the week before last so I bought two weeks worth while it was cheaper.

Shame you missed the shed Gill but like Mandy says keep looking as someone may have bought a new one and want to get rid of their old one.

If you think you have one mouse that you have seen Gill there will be a load more out there as they can breed every three weeks. You will be catching at least one a night for nearly ever.

OH is watching the F1 Mel and is enjoying it as much as I did. So you think there maybe more than one mouse......hope not, I don't like them. I think the mouse is around because I've been feeding the squirrels near my back door so I might feed them further down the garden away from the bungalow. We did notice a hog last night, I'd of thought it was a bit early for them, but I guess not. What with the mouse, the hog and the local cats it's quite busy here at night, more so than during the day :-D :-D

Yes it was a shame we missed out on the shed but I'll keep looking as like you said someone else might be giving one away, if when we're ready to put up the shed we still haven't found one then we'll go and buy one instead. Well, the adverts have finished, (it does feel strange with the F1 being on BBC for so long), so I'll get back to the F1 with OH, then we're off to bed, so I'll say goodnight now and see you all in the morning.

I think I saw my first hog poo in the orchard yesterday. They do start to come out in March so I must keep my eyes open and perhaps start feeding them soon.

Another cloudy day and a bit nippy outside. At least it's not raining which is good.

Not sure what I'm going to do today. To tell you the truth I'm a bit bored now OH is back in work. Sandra spends a lot of time in her room listening to her music or watching the TV and now the garage is empty I've got nothing to do :-(

I might take a look online to see if anyone else is getting rid of a shed, there wasn't any last night but you never know, it's worth a look. Then I might see if I need permission to convert my garage to a summerhouse. I think I might need building regs with us wanting to take the side down and build a new wall for the windows and door, to make it the front and we need to build another wall to close up the garage door which will then be the side. We're thinking of getting it insulated and a new floor as water comes in from next doors garden. Her garden floods a bit so sometimes the water comes through to our side, including inside the garage, so that needs to be sorted or we'll have a swimming pool instead of a summerhouse. :-)

Grey day here too Gill and I hav'nt been outside yet to see what its like but it looks pretty grim. Not raining though and the trees are not moving much.

Nothing planned for today so just a lazy one I think. I may go and sow some lettuce seeds to put a couple of lettuce in big pots up on the decking and away from the rabbits.

How wonderful David having your license back. Have you found a suitable car yet? Hope it's not to long before you can get out and about :-) :-)

The sun is trying to come out now Mel but it's still quite cold. I can hear someone cutting their grass, so I came in as grass and conifers play me up when they are cut.

I've just contacted another builder to see about converting our garage so I should hear from him in the next two days according to the message I received after emailing him. I never did hear back from the first builder which isn't good. The builder I've just contacted has his home number, plus his mobile number and his address online and he only lives down the road from me, so not far.

Yes I would keep the lettuce away from the bunnies or you'll have none for yourself Mel ;-) The sun's really out now so hopefully it'll warm up a bit so I can sit outside later, after the neighbour has finished his lawn.

To tell the truth Gill (best policy) I'd resigned myself to the reality that DVLA
might have decided to revoke it.

But, their decision, which I'm very pleased with is based on GP's and Surgeon's opinions. So I'm delighted :-D

Good afternoon all, Sorry I am late today, but I haven't stopped since I got up at 9.30.

Ros and I both slept well as did Lewis, we both needed the toilet, and who was in there showering YES LEWIS. How we held on I don't know. He did get out a put a towel round him so we could usw the toilet. Then he went back in and finished his shower and clean his teeth.

If I don't see another veg, for a week it will be too soon. The steamer is full of Cauliflower and brocholli, Brussels, Baby fresh carrots and peas. One saucepan full of small Parsnips and another of Potato's The BIG piece of beef is on a low temp. that will come out about 3.00 pm to rest. Yorkshire mix restering, cheese sauce made together with fresh horseraddish sauce. That will have a bit of a kick to it, i'm sure.

Haven't had time to read postings, but I can see you are all about including our David.

Lewis has told us he will be with us over Easter, as his M & D are going down to see Lara in Cornwall, and he dosen't want to go with them.

LOL Gill,you could have an indoor swimming pool :-D :-D.I don't know anything about planning permission for changing the use of a 'building'.But if you aren't making the garage any bigger ,but just changing the look would that not need any permission? As long as you get the right advice from the right authority.

What a beautiful morning it has been.The thermometers on the patio were showing nearly 20degs just now.I had the doors and windows flung open and guess what ....the sun has gone in :-S.So it looks like we might have had the best of it now.
I bought a Cat bed this morning ,one that looks a bit like an igloo.Thomas has a right face on him.He hasn't tried to sleep on the settee(I removed his blanket) :-).So he is sitting on the floor just looking at his new bed.I am hoping if I don't try to force him to use it he will eventually try it out.

Mel we had Rib Eye Steak last night from Aldi.Very nice they were too.It was a bit late for eating really but as we had had such a late lunch we weren't ready for dinner until much later than usual . So the Hogs are out and about :-D

Liz,I watched the new Danish Drama prog this morning.I am persevering with Sub Titles :-D..It looks like it is going ot be a good series. What did you think ?
I'm glad your Pigeon was tasty.You say it is a bit Gamey.I don't think i would like it.The only Game I do have is Venison in a casserole.I do a lovely one in Red Wine.(I think Venison is classed as Game)

It is very busy out today.First day of Spring has everyone out.I think there might be sales on too.I went to Next and they had a 50% off sale.Most of it was wintery stuff so I didn't get anything there.But I did buy 2 T Shirt type tops.
Chris is watching that Danish Drama now on his Laptop. :-)
