Afternoon all,

Cloudy here now and it looks more like rain ,the sun did appear this morning for a while and i did hang washing out and it all got dry which was good .

David that's really good news about the car license ,i bet you were pleased ,have you got your eye on a car ? you'll soon be driving out and about again ,good idea to see about a blue badge it would make it so much easier for you to park .

Not much happening here ,i've been shopping and done the usual jobs a bit f hoovering and dusting .

Goodness Frank falling on your knees won't have helped them , i would see about getting a little help in the garden if i were you ,then once you have your knee done you'll be able to do a little yourself again .

I suppose that's not to bad a wait for your appointment Jane ,i have an appointment with the nurse in the morning for my blood results .
Looking forward to seeing Thomas watching the tele :-D

Thank you MMA and Frank and all.
I'm OK with my full no claims bonus up until June so I am in no rush.
There is a nagging worry on my mind. Getting into the car do-able, driving the car do-able. Getting out of the car and standing not as easy as getting in. Getting in you have gravity to assist you. Getting out and standing? not easy. Going to have to depend on the door's frame to help me up....but do-able,

You'll soon get the hang of it David with practise. I can't remember which leg is the stiff one?? If its the right leg I can see you may have a problem getting in the car. You can get those swivel seats which may help you.

Well I have been busy. I changed the bed and got that washed after the first wash and got them both on the line. Made the bed up.Hoovered right through and hoovered all the bedroom curtains and pelmits, got lunch and washed up cleaned the hoover out and have just made a COC for oh and a hot choc for me which we had with a jaffa cake bar. I am now having a little rest before corning the chickens.

Surely your wife will help you David, at least until you're used to manoeuvring yourself and used to driving again, after so long?

Jane

Jane Report 21 Mar 2016 17:18

Yes Mel those swivel seats are brilliant to help with getting in and out of cars.I don't know how expensive it would be to get a seat altered but David it might be worth investigating that.

You got a lot done today Liz :-D..Unfortunately my washing didn't completly dry,so I have had to finish off a lot in the drier.

Frank it is your knee giving way that makes you fall?I do think until you can get your knee sorted it really would be a good idea to get someone to do your lawn..You have plenty of money :-D(all that that was under the bed LOL)

Mandy I thought I wouldn't have got an appointment for at least a few months. So that was pretty good.
I have tried sending the email of Thomas watching the TV..But the video is too long to send :-S..I don't know if there is a way it can be shortened.I will ask James to see if he can help.I do hope he can do something as it is quite funny.Thomas creeps up to the TV and then puts his 2 front feet up on the stand and watches the big Tiger :-D.He then sits back down very slowly and watches for a bit longer :-D :-D.He actaully sat there for quite a while glued to it watching the cats at night lol.

The pic of Thomas on his new bed.I only sent it to Gill really thinking that Sandra might have liked it.But I can send it if anyone wants.it's not that exciting .

You got a lot done too today Mel :-D..It seems like the sun lasted longer down your and Liz's way.

Anne.I have seen those Cat Hammocks and think they look a great idea. But I am not buying any more for Thomas. He has more than enough now!!!.Too much. It's ridiculous the amount of cat things I have spread around the lounge. When we had our cat,Solo,I don't remember buying any special beds or toys.A bit of paper tied to the end of a length of string was about it.She was a sniffy stuck up cat and was very anti social .She was the cat who had her Whiskers trimmed by Hannah :-D :-D..Hannah says she remembers doing that and she was only about 4yrs old.

Easy dinner here too tonight.Spicy Italian Sausages (for the men) plain pork for me,
Cabbage and Bacon,Hassleback Potatoes and maybe frozen Peas.

David there are lots of cars that are higher now and much easier to get in and out of , ours is a Citroen and we had that when hubby had his bad hip , it does feel strange getting into a lower car now it feels like your sitting on the ground and you have to really pull yourself up to get out ,which you don't have to do with the higher cars ,i'am sure if you have a look round and try a few out you'll find one that you feel comfortable with .

Well i don't know if some thing has moved in hubby's bad hip ,he was only walking back in the room and the pain shot through his knee and hip and his leg nearly gave way :-0 he has been on his feet more today so maybe he's just done to much and a nights rest will help .

Gosh poor Colin. :-0 I know sometimes my knee goes funny and it gives me a pain that makes me cry out.

I had my first bantams egg yesterday, first of the year that is. They usually come back into lay about Feb but I suppose they are all getting older now, bless them.

My car is quite easy to get into as I had trouble with the Rover being to low for me to get o ut of. My Mariva is higher and much easier getting in and out. The swivel seat I was talking about just sits on the actual car seat, its not a special seat.

Must get oh some dinner now. I have a bit of chilli in the freezer so he can have that and I'll have a couple of boiled eggs.

Thanks for Jane's video Mandy. He is a lovely cat and reminds me so much of the one I had down the shop called Marmite.

Its really cold here tonight after the lovely clear day we have had now its a clear night and frosty.

Annx

Annx Report 21 Mar 2016 21:38

Well it was dull and cold most of today here. The washer's going on tonight though as it should be dry again tomorrow.

Several thoughts David. As Mandy has said a lot of cars are higher now which should make it easier to disembark. Also a 2 door car has much wider door openings which would help. Also, as it is your left leg that is stiff if I remember correctly, sliding the seat back as far as it will go will give more room to get your bad leg out. I used to do that on my last car to help my knees that didn't like bending too sharply. Also most car seats can be raised with a lever at the side these days which may help. There are 'lazy susan' type swivel platforms you can put on a car seat to sit on that will help you get in and out. Just google 'car swivel seats' and below are some other aids that help you to get out of a car. It's all food for thought.

Saw a bright yellow field of oilseed rape this morning on the way to the solicitors, it's the earliest I've ever seen it. No wonder my nose has felt bunged up this last week, I'd better check what hayfever tablets I have. More swearing on oath at the solicitors!! we have to walk with MIL's solicitor to another nearby to swear it. He recognised OH as a local footie supporter before the club closed so they were chin wagging about that! Then we did a load of shopping at Lidl nearby and OH got indigestion after we had brekkie at the new Sainsbury's near there. I said to him 'It's from eating those fatty sausages'. He agreed and smiled and said 'at least you didn't say it was from eating those sausages fatty!! lol

Frank, it's a good idea to get some temporary help with the lawns.

Not too long to wait for your appointment then Jane.

Hope your blood results are good Mandy. I can imagine that must have been an awful pain your hubby had. I remember when my knees were bad and forgetting and balancing on one leg a moment to put my trouser leg on. The pain was excruciating! Hopefully it will ease over the next few days.

Will catch up with the rest of the posts tomorrow as I feel shattered.

It is always quicker for someone to forward it to the others. Its the down loading that take the time when you send one and I had to wait a while for it to download this end.

Morning all

Dull here today, very cloudy so I doubt we'll get any sun, not very either.

Thanks for the video of Thomas, Mandy. He's a big cat isn't he and loved watching the tiger on the TV.......bless him.

Your appointment came through quickly Jane, hope all goes well with it.

Sorry to hear your knee is playing you up again Frank. It sounds like a good idea to get some help with your lawns, didn't you say your garden was 120 foot long, that's a big garden to look after even if it's not all lawn, so some help would be handy until your knee has been sorted and you can get back out there to do some yourself.

So you're looking for a car now David. You've had some good advice on here, hope it's not to long before you find one that's right for you.

Your first egg this year Mel? Let's hope there's plenty more for you, they are so much better than shop bought ones, aren't they?

I had such a busy day yesterday I changed the bedding, tidied the bungalow, went shopping and we had Everest round to talk to us about an extension. When Everest had gone we popped round to mum's then called in to our neighbours on the way home to see his conservatory although after looking at his I don't think I want an extension now as it blocks all the light out of the living room. His was like a cave, really dark. So we may end up knocking through to the dining room after all. I've been in contact with two builders about the garage and extension and none of them have got back to me, so nothing's getting done here at the moment.

Off to get a cuppa now, see you all later.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Not a bad morning with some watery sunshine and a little breeze.

Washing is out on the line and today is Donkey Day. What more can I say.

Hope everyone had a good nights sleep last night. I did. Went out like a light the minuet my head hit the pillow.

So still waiting to hear from the builders then Gill? They must be busy this time of the year and will get round to you soon. Its good you have seen someone elses conservatory and know you don't want that.
