Thanks for forwarding me Frank pics Gill.

It looks lvely as always Frank. Ros and you work very hard on the garden. Just wish you were a bit nearer to me to come and help with mine.

Sun went in and out a couple of times just now.

When Di came she told us we had a tree down outside the wall by the little spinney. Oh just drove up there and had a look and its one he cut down well over a year ago that was growing against the wall. It was an ornimental cherry tree mum planted when I had the nursary. We had them all down the front road but slowly they have all died with that cherry decease and that was the last of them. He kept it as cherry wood turns well.

Afternoon All

Well I think we have got away with things where there weather is concerned. It did rain in the night and it is VERY windy but nothing major. It has been quite bright so far but there are some iffy looking clouds about.
I have been to Aldi and Tesco this morning.Everywhere is heaving and the traffic dreadful. So I am glad to be back home.Just after I parked up at Tesco the man who owned the car next to me turned up.I could hear him swearing and I looked out my window to see him inspecting a little dent .He looked at me and said"DID YOU DO THIS" in quite an aggressive way..B****Y cheek.I said no and that I hadn't even got out of my car yet.He then wanted to check the edge of my door !!!!..All he said then was " NO IT WASN'T YOU"..No apology for basically accusing me :-S :-S..I don't like to think what he would have done if it had have been me that caused the little dent.He was quite an unpleasant man.

Mmm Roast Beef Mandy..Ours was good yesterday...We have got that Memphis BBQ Style Chicken Crown from Sainsbury.

Oh dear Frank still having problems..Bet you are not a happy bunny :-S..It is so frustrating when you can't get things right with the pooter.

Ann,Good on you girl for having a go on the Galloping Horses :-D :-D..I would have done too.The last time I went on those was a couple of years ago with either Hannah or Janice.Like you I found it difficult to hang on LOL.You can just feel yourself sliding off the side .The horse I was on was unfortunately in the high position so it was a bit of a performance geting on..Lord knows what I must have loooked like to onlookers :-S
That was on the Southbank in London. The time before that was on one of the huge ones ones with 2 or 3 levels in (I think ) Leicester Square..I am not sure if my hips would manage to get me up on those horses again but I would love to have another go :-D..It is great fun :-D :-D..Maybe it would have to be in one of the seats rather than the horses, but that just wouldn't be the same would it.
That is bad of your Sister's ex refusing to give back all the family photos. Is he just being bloody minded? What good are they to him???

I bet Beckie had a great time seeing Little Mix Anne...I think they are great :-D..Were they from the X Factor ? I think they were..I haven't been to many 'pop' concerts .
Back in the late 80's my Sister and I went to London to see Erassure and then a few years ago Hannah and I went to the NEC to see Kyle Minogue. What a show that was !!.It was brilliant. It was the last show she did for a long time as she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer .

Mel that was interesting about the mounting/dismounting from horses.I had never even thought about the reason why it was on the left side. David what made you wonder?

Chris has done all the ironing this morning !!! :-0 :-0 :-D :-D... One less job for me :-D

I have a shocking pic.It is of what I found in the crumb tray of the toaster this morning.
Now I rarely use the toaster so I am not the culprit .Will forward it on.
I was just cleaning the crumbs off the work top and thought Id have a look at the crumb tray..I couldn't even pull it out without a struggle :-S

Frank Report 28 Mar 2016 15:18

Afternoon all, Will give another go. I have changed batteries again and cleaned mouse.

Ros took Lewis to the cinema yesterday lunchtime and collect John and Carolyn on the way home for dinner. The only trouble was Ros had to put on his surgical stockings for him, as he can't do it nor Carolyn with one hand. It meant they never got here till almost 5.00 pm. Meat and roasts were all done, just the veg to steam, so we had dinner about 6.00 pm.

Ros did all the clearing up, while I sat with a glass of wine. John fell asleep and when he woke, wanted to go home as his leg was hurting. So Ros took them home. We then had a quiet evening with just the three of us.

This morning Lewis had to be at work by 10.00 am in Milton Keynes. So Ros had the job of driving him there, she has to pick him up, and take the cat home at about 4.00/4.30 pm so she will be off again soon.

I will stay here and get the meal ready for tonight.

I haven't rread any posts, but trust you all had a good Easter. The weather was a brute this morning, but pleased tosay we have sunshine now.

Afternoon All,

Oh dear Frank, fingers crossed things will be ok with your postings now! Is Lollipop an indoor cat? Ros is flying about isn't she......she needs a taxi driver sticker!

It was rainy and windy all night here but at last the sun is out so I'm going out soon. OH has gone to a match down south and it's a shame not to enjoy the sun while we have it. I hope it's dry and sunny for you too now Mandy.

I'm glad it wasn't just me that found the gallopers fast Liz! lol I loved them as a child too. Of course afterwards I realised they would travel faster on the outside edge where I was. OH chickened out and just watched. :-)

Anne it was the smells I'd forgotten that brought back memories of the old railway stations. That mix of coal, oil, tar and steam and all the chuffing and hissing sounds. No wonder I found steam trains a bit scary as a child.

Gillx Report 28 Mar 2016 15:42

Oh crumbs Jane.......sorry I couldn't help myself LOL :-D :-D :-D :-D It looked like you had half a loaf of bread in there. You were lucky it didn't catch fire weren't you?
So Chris has done your ironing, my OH doesn't do ironing, I think he's allergic to the iron LOL.

So you managed to get back on here Frank? It's nice to see you again. Did changing the batteries and cleaning your mouse work, or were you just lucky this time round?

I'm still plodding on with my tree, did you take a look in the end Frank or wouldn't your mouse let you? It's well worth taking a look as they have lots more than then usually do open on Ancestry and today is the last day.

I watched a programme I recorded about the Queen being 90 before, it was all about her life and was really interesting. I didn't realise it was on for 2 hours, but I thoroughly enjoyed it :-) :-)

The weather is sunny at the moment, but very windy and cold with it.

Pleased to hear you got my email okay Mel, yes the garden is beautiful isn't it? How big is your garden?
OH and I are going to take a look on the internet next week for ideas for our garden, then we'll ring a man we got a phone number for to plan it properly for us and do the hard landscaping, we can then put all the plants in and do the fun bits, once we've chose and order the plants.

Going back to my tree now. See you all later <3

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Mar 2016 16:35

Gill my garden is about 3 and a half acres but with oh's bit out the front he has about another acre now as he sold the yard he owned and the cow sheds to a friend of ours. We had about 6 and a half acres before between the two of us. We have two walled gardens, one is 1.29 acres and the one in front of the bungalow is 1.25 acres then there is the the land down the side of the wall with the road down to the house and a little spinney at the end which goes through to the back field where the chickens are.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Mar 2016 16:37

I meant to say I don't like the Ancestry set up now either. It confuses me with all the info on there.

Jane CRUMBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that had'nt been emptied for quite a while had it? I thought mine was bad the last time I emptied mine but I could at least see some of the tray. :-S :-S :-S

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 28 Mar 2016 17:53

Oh cor blimey Jane :-D that's some amount of toasted crumbs !! mine gets like that, it's because we have the seeded breads ,the breakfast table usually ends up with seeds all over the cloth and i shake it out side for the birds :-D

Beef melted in the mouth and we're so full ,i don't think i even have room for a chocolate bunny :-D

Jane

Jane Report 28 Mar 2016 17:59

I think all the big black bits were currants /sultanas from Hot Cross Buns !!!.But like you said it has been a very long time since that crumb tray was looked at :-S.
My housekeeping skills need a bit of a dusting me thinks. But it is one of those things that no-one ever things to look at and check.

Gill,Mel has an estate LOL not just a garden :-D.It's HUGE.The big garden walls are lovely.I'm guessing Victorian maybe much earlier.I had a 'tour' a few years ago with my Sister when we went to the funeral of my Aunty Joyce nearby.

We are still having lots of blue sky and the big clouds are flying by at a fair old rate.
It is very mild so no need for the woodburner to be lit.It is still quite breezy, and Thomas has had the wind up his tail and has gone off like a rocket down the garden ,running up and down tree trunks !!!!!..Looks like he has a screw loose LOL.
I can also hear a lot of bangs ,so there is shooting going on somewhere :-S :-S

Anne

Anne Report 28 Mar 2016 18:01

Mel you have a lot of land to keep you both busy, I've always wanted a walled garden.

I don't like the new Ancestry set up either, I have 3 trees on there I started off with both Peter's and mine together and included aunts, uncles, cousins going right back it understandably was huge. So I have direct lines only individually on there but I've now come up with a lot of brick walls. I did belong to the Kent & Sussex family history clubs and purchased a lot of cd roms going back to the 1500's on some of them. Has anyone looked at the Family Search site its free and belongs to the Church of the Later Day Saints, it can be very helpful.

We had a very windy night but it has calmed down now thankfully, I think the South came off worse this time.

Jane we have problems when toasting hot cross buns a lot of the time as well, it sends the smoke alarm off even though the dial is turned down because of the burning currents dropping into the tray, which I need to empty or I will be in competition with you, it's something I don't think to do most of the time.

Jane

Jane Report 28 Mar 2016 18:30

I'm glad I am not the only one then Anne :-D :-D.. We haven't had any smoke coming from the toaster ,but I think it might be a good time to test the smoke alarm...Thank you for reminding me about them :-D :-D

Chris just tested ...It nearly deafened me ..so smoke alarm working fine :-D :-D

Annx

Annx Report 28 Mar 2016 18:48

Jane the tray was really full wasn't it!! lol. Mine shows the escaped crumbs up on the dark worktops so I usually empty it before it's that bad. Dusting? my housework skills need a good spring clean, they get rustier each year!! It's good Chris did the ironing....they get better the more they practice!

I've felt a bit grim again this afternoon, achey neck and shoulders and tummy cramps. It must be a bug.

Gill we really enjoyed the Queen prog. I thought Kate came across particularly well. Maigret tonight, but I might watch it in bed to be more comfy with my neck.

I just found that the memorial to one of those 2 brothers I mentioned were killed in WW1 is at Picardie in France. Years ago first OH and I drove around the battlefields in France......if only I'd known!

Anne

Anne Report 28 Mar 2016 19:33

I don't like dusting either too many ornaments collected and inherited plus all the presents the boys have bought us over the years from school trips, when I have a good dust Amy waits by the front door for visitors, she knows me well.
I once read someone had written a book a long time ago called "Death Before Dusting"

We are recording Maigret as it is too late ending at 11pm Richard goes to bed at 10o/c when its work next day. Just watching the BBC 4 programme on Faberge, very interesting after that University Challenge.

Hope you soon feel better Ann there are a lot of bugs going around at the moment.

Goodness we've had a busy day!! Family have just gone, and we're having a quiet drink before having bacon and eggs for supper. I shall have a ducks egg as daughters partner bought 6 ducks eggs and 6 hens, so we're well stocked up now!! Our grandson can talk for England!! The girls are quieter!!
Maigret tonight, really looking forward to it.

Gillx Report 28 Mar 2016 20:16

That's a big garden Mel, how do you both manage it?

When I checked my smoke alarm the other week I nearly fell off the chair it was that loud Jane. It's quite a shock even though you're expecting the noise. Mind you there'd be no point of having a smoke alarm if it wasn't loud would there? :-S

Sorry to hear you're not feeling your best today Ann. Have you seen a doctor if you think it's a bug? Pity you didn't know about the memorial all those years ago, maybe you could take another trip there one day.

I don't mind the way Ancestry is now, although it took me a while to get used to the new version. I like the fact that everything is on the one page instead of having to go all over the place to add things to my tree. The only thing I don't really like is the dark background, I prefer the white one they used to have.

I shall watch the Queen on catchup, daughter said it was very good. She's watching the Night Manager on - catchup!!
I found a paternal cousin killed in WW1 with no known grave. His name is on the Menin Gate, he was only 18, poor young man.
We've just watched university challenge and Ian did better than me !! Do you watch that Ann? I can imagine you'd do better than us. How did you do other Anne?!! Now its Island Parish we both enjoy, then Maigret!! Not a bad evening!!

Anne Report 28 Mar 2016 21:51

Just watching Prue & Tim's canal journey in Sweden that we recorded.

Richard did better than me this time he answers most of the art questions correctly I'm better at History but thought the questions were harder than usual I expect it was because it was a semi final, we watch most of the quiz programmes including Egg Heads. I have started to watch Think Tank in the afternoons now

I saw the hedgehog tonight and I had'nt fed it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have just been out and done so.

I made a big trifle for dessert and it wa slovely and still some left for tomorrow.

Did spag bol for dinner and when I got the mince out the micro after defrosting it it turned out to be diced skirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to dig down the freezer to find some mince and put the skirt in a sauc epan with carrots and onions so you know what we have for tomorrow nights dinner and I may make it into a pie.

I thought Maigret was a bit slow but find this when you get a program for two hours.

Saying night night now so see you all in the morning.

Morning all and evening Kim,

We have the yellow stuff this morning but it rained heavily last evening and last night.

Donkey Day again... it seems to come around so quickly.

What are you lot up to today after your Easter Break?

Oh has put the bins out so lets hope they don't come too early. He only leaves them if others have them out.
