At least you have decent weather for Donkey Day Mel..I hate it when it rains and trying to get the trolley to the car as fast as possible, then stash all the shopping in the boot and then take the trolley back !!
Chris and i are going to my Neighbours funeral at lunch time.I think the service is at 12.40..better check my calendar. Just have a few jobs to do first so will be bacl later this afternoon.

Morning all
The sun is out at the moment but we've had some rain earlier.
I hope the weather is dry for you Jane when you go to the funeral. I'm thinking of you <3
The same with you Mel, hope it's not raining when you go shopping.
Nothing much planned for today. I was happily getting on with my tree last night then all of a sudden the records stopped showing on Ancestry, when I checked the time it was midnight, so they didn't waste any time in closing down the free access. Normally it goes on for a little while longer than midnight. Luckily I'd just finished adding a record. I wanted to add the 1911 census but it wouldn't let me, but lucky for me I'd had a quick look at it earlier so know that my relative didn't have any children, so that was a bit of luck and I can now say her bit is finished and I can move on to her siblings. So all in all Ancestry have been very helpful over the Easter Holidays and I managed to finish off the Australian relatives I started a few weeks ago as well........bonus :-D :-D :-D
Off to get a cuppa now, then I'm going to see if the first part of Buckingham palace is online as I could only record the second one last night because we were watching other things. I forgot it was on, so thanks David for letting us know ;-) ;-)

Morning All,
It's a nice sunny start to the day here, I hope it lasts. :-) OH has just gone to scatter his dad's ashes. You don't want it wet or windy for that.
Thanks for your good wishes David and I hope Ellen gets rid of her sore throat and cough quickly. You are right Anne, I've heard there are lots of bugs about. I'm sure OH brings some home from the schools he visits. :-S I had a bad night, bits of me boiling and others freezing. By 3.00am I still hadn't slept but felt a bit better and decided to get up to get a COT and tiny bit of cereal. I hadn't fancied a cuppa or anything to eat since lunch yesterday. I slept ok then and at least the aches seem to have gone for now but the tum is still iffy. Gill, I don't think the doc can help if it's a virus, I expect I just need to sit it out :-S
Liz I have never eaten a duck egg........what are they like? Yes, we do watch University Challenge sometimes, also Eggheads. OH is way better than me at general knowledge and is the one to have in your team at a pub quiz!!! lol :-) Anne I must have a watch of Think Tank.
I don't have a tree on Ancestry, it's the way the searches come up I don't like, especially of other people's trees. I suppose it is a case of getting used to it though. There are still some things I don't like from when they last changed the GR site.
Mel has a beautiful garden and I don't know how she keeps so much of it in such good order. If you had all that land here Mel, the builders would be after it!! :-S
Well, I think I shall sort some of this paperwork in the study till OH gets back and get the washer going. I have a little unpainted box of drawers in the garage, the sort you can put on a shelf or worktop. I think I shall go and find them. They will need some sandpapering and a lick of paint and would be useful in here to give a home to some bits and pieces.

We thought Maigret was a bit slow too I, but ok. We used to love it years ago first with Rupert Davies, and then Michael Gabon. Have to see how it pans out if the series goes ahead. Not a bad day here, sunshine and showers! Hairdresser this afternoon, apart from that, a quiet day.

I hope all goes well at the funeral Jane. At least it looks like it will stay dry for you.
OH has a meeting tonight and I may take some tops back to Grantham this afternoon and look at the massive garden centre. It would be a nice ride across the Vale of Belvoir today. :-)

Ducks eggs are bigger and very slightly eggier if you know what I mean!! I love them, Ian's not so keen. They are brilliant for cake making though. We watch Egg Heads too Ann and Anne! We usually do okish, depending on the subject !!! We must try Think Tank too! I think we'd both shape up fairly well in a Pub Quiz!

Glad I am not the only one to think Maigret was slow. You knew what was going to happen. I think Rowan was just a tad slow in answering things and it just did'nt seem as good as the old series when the telly was bllack and white!! Maybe its just me.
Hope everything goes off ok at the funeral today Jane, for your neighbour and you don't get the rain during the service.
Enjoy your ride and the garden centre this afternoon Ann. Yes duck eggs are a bit stronger than a chickens eggs. My first oh liked them and of course they are bigger. He also liked a fried goose egg which nearly filled the frying pan on its own!!

I've just finished watching the two episodes of Buckingham Palace, it was very interesting. I only meant to watch the first episode online as I'd recorded the second one, but ended up watching them both.
Just going to get some chicken stew I made yesterday, I've not eaten anything today yet, then I'll catch up with some more programmes I've recorded, I've got so many it's going to take me a while to get through them all

Afternoon all,
Thanks Liz, I could remember Rubert but not Davies. That's put my mind at rest now. !!!
Yes, I hope all went well for the funeral Jane, Did you go to the wake ?? was it back at her house or somewhere local.
Liz back in the 70s I went on a tour of all the old war graves. We stopped at the Menin Bridge just as they were playing "THE LAST POST" whic they do every evening at 6.00 pm very moving. The old lump in the throat job :-( :-( :-(
No gill I never got to look at my tree, I do go back a long way on my Mums and Dads side also Ros side. But no doubt still a lot more to find.
Was at the nurse this morning for my monthly injection. Whilst taking to her, I asked if there were many people who had Testosteron(sp) injections and she said there were a lot in the village. So it's not just me !!!!
My X rays are back from the hospital. So my appointment with the Dr tomorrow morning 9.40 am will (I hope) give me some answers about my left knee. It's been a bit of a Bu###r the last few days. I just hope if they sort something out, that doesn't clash with me going away the first two weeks in June. :-| :-| All the flights, car park and insurance are paid for, So if, and I know it's an IF, they organise something then, what do I do. Cancel the operation or the flights etc. ??
Good old Ros, she has taken Carolyn shopping this afternoon. What they would do without her at the moment, I do not know.
Lewis is in the "DOG HOUSE" he should have rung his uncle to let him know he wouldn't be going to see the car as he was working. His uncle stayed in ALL DAY and finally phoned Harvet to see if he was going over to see the car. Lewis has to ring his uncle to apologise for not going. His M & D were hot pleased with him.
I thought Margret was a bit slow, but it might be that Rowen Atkinson didn't seem to be the right person for the part. My opinion anyway.
Roast Chicken, (Stuffed) Roasts, beans, cabbage carror and peas tonight.
I might get Ros to take, and fetch me from the pub tonight England play Holland in a friendly.
It's stayed dry here today, but that wind could cut you in half. !! it's very cold.

Not done much today apart from walking Amy, a bit of ironing and tidying the kitchen. I have got the veg's ready for dinner, pork chops for Richard.
Jane I hope your neighbour's funeral went off O.K.
I haven't watched Buckingham Palace programme yet. When I was about 14 my dad's brother was engaged to Freda who worked and lived in the palace, he took us to visit her, he reported to a policeman at the door and she came down and collected us. I remember walking through an area with a lot of old chairs stacked up waiting to be repaired. Freda lived right at the top of the building at the front she had a well furnished bed sitting room, shared a bathroom with one other and a kitchen with three other female members of staff,.because the Royal family were away at the time she showed us some of the areas she had keys for .Another time we were invited to watch the trooping of the colour but it had to be cancelled because of the weather and King George wasn't a well man then, I think it may have been not long before he died. Once she married she could no longer work there of course
Richard has just come home, very wet as it has been raining again, I'm going to start cooking dinner now

Off I went late morning and we had a little sleety rain, well it looked that way, and first stop was my little man up the road on the way to Bideford as when I turned the windscreen wipers on the other day they had both split top and bottom about 4 and a half inches. Anyway I aske dhim if he had those and he said he had and his chap fitted them for me and then I looked at the back one and that had NO rubber wiper bit on it at all so he did that one too. So now I have a lovely rear window and front when it get splashed or is raining.
Booked oh's car in for its MOT next Monday and mine is due on my sons birthday so I shan't forget that in May.
Oh has downloaded my pics but I hav'nt looked at them yet so you should see what I was making soon.
Bought a huge peice of cod today marked down from £11 to £3.99 so I am going to cut it up and freeze it so I can have a peice of that when oh has his chilli. I just hope it dos'nt ponk the freezer out.
On the way just past Landcross alongside the river there was an oak tree in leaf. Lovely fresh greeny little leaves all over it. There's nothing like that round here.
Frank could'nt you tell them you have a holiday booked and paid for so they don't give you an appointment then??
Just had my COT oh made me and now I have a few more things to put away. I have to juggle with the fridge and that huge trifle I made or I shan't be able to get all the new stuff in.

Evening All The funeral went fine.Just very sad to see how little family Joan had.Just 2 Nephews, their wives and 2 young boys(with their little soft cuddly toys :-( ).The rest of the mourners were mainly neighbours and a couple of people who worked with Joan years ago. I did have to laugh when I saw who was playing the organ /piano.It was an elderly lady who had been a teacher at Hannah and James's senior school.I thought she had died years ago !..She hadn't changed a bit.We didn't go back for refreshments at Joan's house as Fitz was popping in .Also I am sure that the Nephews and families would be wanting to get back to their homes which are nowhere near here.I think one is from Bristol and the other from Nottingham. The main floral tributes consisted of big white Lilies, and I could smell them..Lillies and I don't go well together as they irritate my throat and eyes.It is that pungent scent. So I was quite relieved when we came out into the fresh air.
It is tipping it down here now.The first rain of the day.So dark too.
Frank,,Naughty Lewis...That is teens for you.t least he has apologised to his uncle.Teens brains are a nightmare. At least tomorrow you will know what your X-rays are like, and hopefully there may be a recommendation as to whether you need an op.You will just have to see and then explain that you have everything booked for your holiday. But then of course it could be a few months on waiting list anyway.
I am afraid I haven't read yet the rest of todays posts .I will do that later. I have James's dinner in so he can just eat and go.He is off to Jess's for the funeral tomorrow. I nearly had a dicky fit at 4pm.......I suddenly realised I hadn't collected James's black tie from the cleaners :-S.So it was a quick dash into town to pick it up. That was a close shave...His case is packed for Stockholm.Just hope he has remembered to take his passport,Krona, and accommodation papers.phone charger etc. The oven is pinging.

They are lovely Mel and I especially like the nest of fawn chicks!! The little nests you have made are exquisite and I hope they are shown on Springwatch. :-) It's always good when you get new wiper blades fitted isn't it? Yesterday OH's car messages said it needs some sort of additive so he's booking it in for service as it's due in the next fortnight anyway.
Fancy you knowing the organist at the funeral Jane! MIL and FIL's funerals were much the same regarding family members with only 8 at the first and then 7 attending as one had a foot operation.
Frank you should be 'one step' ahead ahead tomorrow when you get your xray results! :-) Seriously though I hope there is something they can do that will help ease your knee in the meantime, whatever it needs long term. Yes, your Ros is a star <3 <3 <3 helping out!!
I still felt tired and not quite right this afternoon so I didn't go out in the end. I've been tidying and sorting some of my beads instead. Every time I do it I say I will put them away as I go in future! :-S
We noticed last week that another car had smashed into the railings where pedestrians walk at the island on the main road just round the corner. It's the same place where it's happened numerous times before. Well, at lunchtime today there was an ambulance there and another car had ploughed into them! It's just so badly designed and cars set off round it like they are at Brands Hatch. :-S

Glad you liked the fawn chicks Ann. When I made them I thought maybe I would send themand then I did'nt want to part with them but I did. I addressed it to Michaela Strachan as I thought she may like them enough to get them on the show. Well we'll see when it come on.
The six yellow ones in the green eggs carton went down the church for the children on Easter Sunday. When I went down the church there were little grey bunnies here and there around the church so that must have been a little quiz for the children too. Sheila our reader usually organizes something for the children to seek out and get prizes for.
Off now so see you in the morning night night.

Morning all and evening Kim,
I heard from Kim and she told me she had'nt been well and ended up in hospital. Seems there has been a lot going on with her lately so am sending love and wishes. <3 <3
Rained again last night and I went out a few times to look for a hog but saw nothing last night and the bowl of food had'nt been eaten by the time I went to bed. It's empty this morning though so it may have come after all or something else ate the food.
Bad hip ache this morning must b e the way I pushed the trolley yesterday without thinking.
