Evening all,
It's been a lovely day here really warm in the sun and like you Jane i had to change my top for a short sleeved one ,hubby has been fiddling with the mower ,i think the handle had worked loose ,i have been sweeping bits up and pottering .
Mel i love all the things you have made ,the wreath was so pretty with the primroses in the egg shell i thought that was very clever and i love Shaun the sheep too. There was a Spring watch on over Easter but i missed it ,do you know when the Spring watch will be on again ? we'll all be looking to see if the nest is on the table won't we :-)
Jane that's a good size box full of lovely herbs, you should have a nice lot to go at ,i could see how Thomas might like it !! :-0
Frank at least you know now what is causing all the pain in your knee ,i don't understand what you mean when you say about the funding though ,i thought if you need a new joint then you should be able to get one . That poor little puppy ,i shall think of that and be very careful when we get Max .
Oh Gill i should think you feel a bit fed up with having to move all the things from the loft again , i know you want it done but it doesn't seem that long ago you were sorting through the loft and putting all the boxes up there , that's good that OH has some days off so you can get it ll done .
We have recorded Tim and Pru Liz ,we're looking forward to seeing them as we both enjoyed the last series. Anne it's a nice feeling when you came away from the dentist knowing you don't have to have any thing done , we have a check up next month ,i must check the date in case it's early in the month , i carn't believe the first of April is on friday !! I'am looking forward to dog walking again ,it's on a nice day like this that i miss going ,still not to many weeks to wait now .
There will be no stopping you David once you get the blue badge and a new car ,it will be lovely for you to be able to just pop out in the car when ever you want after all this time of being stuck at home .
We have Jake here for the day tomorrow ,he's asked for Egg and Cress sandwiches for his lunch and some Cod for his tea :-D He's going to help paint the garden fence :-S i told DIL to send him with some old clothes as i can see plenty of paint on him by the end of the day .

It's been sunny all day but not very warm.
Yes, it is a bit annoying to have to take everything out of the loft after us putting it all up there not so long ago Mandy, but when they rang offering free loft insulation I'd of been daft saying no. It'll be a good time to have a bit of a change around with my pictures and ornaments now we're staying put though and it'll give me something to do, I've been so bored lately as there's nothing to do at the moment, other than empty the loft, which I can't do on my own. Have fun with Jake tomorrow, he certainly knows what he wants to eat doesn't he?
I'm so sorry to hear about the little puppy Frank, how sad, I hope it didn't suffer :-( OH has cut our grass three times so far this year and may do it again while he's off work, if the weather isn't to wet. It seems to be growing quite fast at the moment, so he likes to keep on top of it or it'll get out of hand.
I love the picture of your herb garden Jane, there's plenty there to last you quite a while. Hopefully Thomas will keep off it. So you decided to put Thomas out at night in the end then. It sounds like it's doing you good with better nights sleep. The window cleaner turned up very early didn't he........I don't know if it's not Thomas it's the window cleaner LOL.
I bet you're pleased you don't have to have any treatment done at the dentist Anne? :-)
So you're almost ready to get a car now David, that'll be nice, just in time for the summer......they'll be no stopping you.

Good on you David, so pleased to hear you have applied for your Blue Badge Just t a bit of advice from an old CAR DEALER. Use a good sourse to get the car from. If in doubt, pay the AA or RAC for a report of quality and condition.
All very smart now then Jane. You had better keep an eye on the neighbours or they will be helping themselves to your herbs :-D :-D :-D
Gill you are up and down to the loft like a fiddlers elbow.!! Do you realise that once the loft is insulated YOU can't put things back in the loft. ??? that is the one thing that stopped us having more put up there. We would have had nowhere to put everything :-( :-( Mel you have been a busy girl, where do you find the time ?? They look lovely xx
I really should have my few teeth check on, I have no trouble with them, but I should be on the safe side.
Lara's boyfriends Mother rang this evening about these curtains. Lara expects Ros to make these curtains which are 9 foot 6 inches long and over 5 foot wide. She wants a special fringe type thing around the top to be fitted as a pelmit. Needless to say ROS SAID NO. after that fiesco with that display she made for their wedding venue. Talk about taking the perverbiable (sp). Ros said she will have words with Julia and Harvey for surgesting that she would do it for her.
I am off to get a nice cold beer, see you tomorrow. Night Night.

O that poor puppy and its owners. What a thing to happen just as its life was starting to be ended like that. It must have caused a bleed on the brain and I expect it was very quick for the little mite.
Yes Gill thats why we did have the grant for the loft insulation. Ther e is so much stuff in our loft it would take forever to get it all out and where would we put it??? we even have a potting shed 95 foot long with stuff in and not all our atuff either. We have two stables full of stuff too and a goat shed full of flowerpots and a huge workshop full of dead mowers for parts and other stuff etc.
Jane Tarragon is an annual herb. You can buy the seed for that. I like the planter but what a price they are. I need oh to make me something like that so the rabbits can't get at some salad crops. A nice height to work at too.

Morning all
Sunny here today and a bit warmer than yesterday, but I think it's forecast for rain later and tomorrow :-( :-(
Those curtains sound really big Frank, I don't blame Ros for saying no.
When the surveyor came about the loft insulation he said that we couldn't put things back in the loft except for the Christmas tree and empty suitcases, things that are light weight, but he did mention that you can buy a platform from B&Q that you screw to the joists, that way you can put things on that as it goes above the insulation, so we're going to look into buying some, then we get the best of both worlds.
We've decided that we have far to much stuff up in the loft, some of it has been up there for years so we obviously don't need it, so we're going to get rid of a lot of stuff to the local charity shops and maybe do a car boot or two. There's a lot of pictures I might put up as I like those and could do with a change. So it looks like we'll be buying some extra storage cupboards and putting some stuff in there as I have some material I would like to keep for when I get round to my sewing. I'd like to make a bedspread and curtains for Sandra's room so that should take up quite a bit of the material and give me something to do as well :-)
I've almost finished watching all my recorded programmes now, just in time for OH having a week off work, so that was timed right.
I watched Guy Martin the other week Mel, he was on a programme with David Coulthard and I've recorded another one of his programmes where he's on the wall of death live, which I'll be watching with OH tomorrow.
You have a lot of large areas full of things don't you? That would take forever to sort out ;-)
Going to get a cuppa now, then carry on watching the rest of my programmes, OH is in work and Sandra is still asleep, so it'll fill a couple of hours.

Morning a ning all and evening Kim,
Suns shining and its a nice day out there. and I did'nt get up till 10 to 11am.
Oh is cleaning the skimmer out for the big pond and doing a general muddle about huffing and puffing all the time and I am sitting here at my desk talking to you lot.
I went to Holsworthy yesterday afternoon to get some new netting for both ponds as oh has ordered some new stakes to go round the edges to hold the net. I also bought two sacks of poultry corn as we are using so much with the pheasents but I hope they stay more in our garden otherwise they will be shot later in the year. They are bred for the shoot but once they let them out of the pens up in the woods over the back of us we usually get a whole load of them come through the garden till they find their favorite spots. They all talk to me when I go to feed the hens and banties and expect their food too.

Morning All
Mel, I have just seen your email of the pretty Easter wreath, primroses are one of my favourite flowers as they remind me of my childhood when we used to pick bunches of them, not allowed now of course but we never dug up the roots. Your ponds look huge compared to mine I only look at my emails once a day as they don't show on the laptop so didn't see them until this morning.
Just read that Ronnie Corbett has died at his home, he was 85. He always seemed a nice man.
Had a busy day so far put the Sainsbury shopping away, taken Amy for a walk, planted some plug perennials in pots at the moment which were a lot smaller than I expected, thimble sized but look very healthy. I had already had washing in the machine so have ironed that now. Dishwasher on at the moment and I have swept and mopped the kitchen floor. Sitting down now watching bargain hunt before having lunch.
I hope you enjoy your day with Jake, Mandy and he enjoys his egg and cress sandwiches after helping with the painting bless him
Gill it sounds you are going to be busy again, we had our loft done for free a few years ago.
I'm pleased to hear Ros does say no sometimes Frank she has enough on her plate already. It did sound cheeky expecting her to make curtains which are so big.
Hope everyone has a good day with lots of sunshine which we have here at the moment.

Oh knew Ronnie Corbett a long time ago.
Still sunny here too but there is a cold wind with it that bites right through you.
I have been up the top and brought back the dustbin sack as we seemed to have missed them this week. Goodness knows what time they came as oh gets it out eary. They never seem to come at the same time each week, sometimes early sometimes late afternoon and sometimes not at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I suppose we are lucky that they come every week usually as I know some parts of the country they come once a fortnight.
Think I will go and cut some dead stuff down in the garden.
What perennials did you have in plugs Anne. Glad you liked the wreath and the primroses came from our little spinney. There are loads of them this year, plants I mean and not all out yet. I think the deer have been through there as I saw a little present or two that they left me. Don't mind them in there as they eat the brambles which means I can get through without too many catches in my trousers.

Mel - as Monday was a Bank Holiday, have you checked if the collections have been shifted one day? If they didn't do a Saturday catch-up for Good Friday, they may be 2 days out.

Ours came on the right day, but much earlier. The chap told me that they work every day (Sunday?!) except Christmas day!! I certainly didn't know that! I've got a lovely Shepherds Pie simmering, Garlic bread and green beans, + a pud! He's got a good appetite has our son!!! Been a lovely day, tomorrows forecast is the same, so washing will be the order of the day!

Our bin was emptied on the right day, which happened to be Bank Holiday Monday, although it was a little later than usual.
It's been sunny here all day and is nice and warm for a change. I hope the weatherman is wrong with the forecast of rain for tomorrow as it's nice to see the sun.
I've tidied up Sandra's strawberry plants in the greenhouse and noticed a couple of flowers appearing, so Sandra will be happy when they turn into strawberries :-)
It sounds like you have a nice meal prepared for your son's visit Liz. What is the pud?

Been out in the garden since my last post clearing a corner. I have cut down loads of brimbles out of the climbing hydranger and cleared all the rubbish out of the corner past that 4 barrow loads so far and still at least two more to get rid of the dead leaves. I am wondering if I can have m runner beans round there in their sack pots.
Oh has just made me a COT.

Gill I tidied my strawberry plants up the other day and I too have flowers coming on a couple of them.
The magnolia on the top wall is showing colour and a few of the flowers are out. The forsythia is blossoming too as well as the camelia which is in the wrong place and the frost gets it but the flowers still come.
