Evening all,
It's been a cold day here we lit the fire to warm up ,sun did peep through for a while but mostly the day has been cloudy .
Frank our car doors don't open when one of us has tried to open the door as the key fob is trying to unlock it ,even if you relock and then try the door it stays locked . We find if you open the door that's locked from the inside of the car it then opens up with the key fob again . Have you tried opening the door from inside using the handle ? might be worth a try .
We had a nice day with Jake yesterday ,he did some painting on the fence and made a good job of it too with not to much paint on his clothes. Yes Jane he did have chips with his piece of cod and he also tucked into his egg and cress sandwiches at lunch time .
Poor little Cas being scared of the big doggy :-D you would have thought she would have wanted to play with him .
Jane is Hannah home for the weekend or just for an over nighter after the dentist visit ? I bet she would have to pay a lot more to visit a dentist in London . Hope James and Jess enjoy their time away in Stockholm ,poor Jess has had a time of it lately after the assault and then losing her Grandad .

Cas has met Jasper before Jane but he is a big boy and she is quite a small girl and I think she was just overwhelmed by him! Tonight she's back in the sitting room with us playing with her Teddy!! We've had supper, and are now having a peaceful evening!!

I am in stitches here!!! (Stitches being the word) Hannah found a pair of knitting needles here with some kitting on..She is trying to follow instructions on line as to how cast off!!!!.It is so funny just watching her trying to follow the instructions.

, When CarolynJust lost a few lines of a new posting.
Evening all, He must have had a wonderfull Mandy, (HERE WE GO AGAIN see above) When Carolyn tried to open the door before Ros used the key fob, I think she has dislodged something behind the door panel.. So nice for you to have little Jake for the day, if he is anything like Lewis was.
Jane, Ros taught Ella Jans G.Daughter to knit when we were down at Christmas. She just loves it now. When we went down before Easter she was showing Ros how well she is doing with it.
We had a good old chat with Conrad last night. One of his clients that bought a villa is looking to rent it out. He is trying to get it for when we go out in June. It will save me having to climb FOUR lots of stairs to get to his apartment. Plus it has it's own pool.
The Lamb shanks just fell of the bone tonight. I did the washing and drying up as Ros got everything ready this morning.
Mandy I'm all stitched out trying to understand that casting off business ;-) ;-) ;-)
Glad you have had a nice afternoon with Cas Liz, I can imagine a big dog would be a bit much for her. I bet she was glad when he went. <3 <3
I'm giving up with this, it's doing my head in !!!

Frank this is a solution that a lot of people have found cured the problem you have with your mouse! It depends whether you can find your 'control panel' on your computer though!! If you can, you just click on each of these in order as they appear.
double click the 'control panel icon' to open the window then click, hardware and sound devices mouse Mouse properties pointeroptions and if there is a tick in the box ´hide pointer when typing´ click on the tick in the box next to to get rid of the tick.
Then just close the screens down as normal. Hopefully that should work. If it doesn't you can just do it again and put the tick back.
My 'control panel icon' is on the desktop when I click on the start button in the bottom left corner, but if you aren't sure where yours is maybe you need someone to come and help you. I would if I lived near you. :-)
The villa with no stairs would be ideal for you in June so I hope Conrad can get it for you.

That would be lovely if you can get the villa for your stay and NO stairs to worry about and your own pool to wade around in to cool off.
I have that awful indigestion again today. It cmae on after my toast this morning. I only had a ham and tomato sandwich luch time and a couple of rich tea biscuits with my cuppa and have had it all afternoon and this evening. I did'nt think I was going to have any dinner but I did lamb shoulder steaks new pots mushrooms cooked in the micro with a slice of bacon and peas. The steaks were frozen from Morrisons like the lamb shanks and were in a mint gravey. I had a small dinner and felt ok but now I have it again now................................
Yes its easy to cast off Jane. I always loved that bit when I was knitting.

Morning all and evening Kim,
Grey day here again this morning and we had a little rain last night and its in the air this morning if you know what I mean.
Nothing planned for today just the usual to go to the shop for butter and my paper. They sell the Rodda butter up the shop, the cornish butter and I love it so always buy it in there. We only use half a pound a week and sometimes not even that so I don't mind spending a little more on it.
Three Rennie I had to take last night and I still had indigestion when I went to bed but not as bad as it had been during the evening. Now I don't know whether to have any breakfast or not as it may have been yesterdays toast that gave it to me in the first place and I took my pill too.

Afternoon all
Dull and wet here today :-(
Well, what a day we had yesterday. OH went to book in his asthma appointment and happened to bump into the nurse he'll be seeing next Tuesday. He told her about this cough he's had for a while and how bad he was that morning, so she told him to make an appointment with the doctor, so off he went to reception to make an appointment and they got him in a hour later.
Because we had an hour to spare we thought we'd start the shopping, but before we actually got to the food shops we passed the opticians, so OH said he might as well book in an eye test as he was due one, He went in to book the appointment and they said they could do it straight away.....talk about lucky, so while we were there I booked my appointment but had to go back an hour later, luckily Sandra was able to have her's done straight after her dad.
Sandra was reluctant to have an eye test but I've noticed her distance visions isn't very good and it's taken me over a year to persuade her to have a test. Needless to say she does needs glasses to watch the TV but doesn't want any of the family to know, which is fair enough. The lady who did the test was brilliant and used pictures as Sandra doesn't know all her alphabet. OH needs his glasses making stronger but I'm okay. All in all it cost us over £150 all total, which I didn't think was to bad. They did give us a form, with OH being on a low wage, to see if we can claim some of it back, so that'll be good if we can. I treated Sandra to a couple of CD's she'd had her eye on and some sweets for having the test done, she was made up with her new things and of course the sweets and thanked me today for spoiling her yesterday.....bless her. She doesn't like doing new things that aren't in her routine and looked terrified, so I'm glad she had the test done and think she was really brave, as I could see she was scared.
OH went off to his doctors appointment while I had my eyes tested and was told he had a double virus, the doctor said OH had had a virus, but before that cleared he'd got another one on top of it, so all he can do is drink plenty and take paracetamol. He did get some more inhalers so that's helped his asthma until he see's the nurse for his check up on Tuesday. He's wearing a mask while he empties the loft.
After all that we finally got round to doing some food shopping and while we were in Tesco's a voice came up saying if anyone wanted a free gift to go to the front of the store, of course we all did and it was a demonstration for a, the only way I can explain it is, a sticky roller. It's for furniture and carpets, you can even use it in the car, or anywhere really. It's brilliant for cat hairs, or in our case Sandra's and my head hair, our hair is very long and there is always loads of it on the carpet that the hoover has problems getting up. So when we got in last night there I was going round all the carpets with this roller getting up all the hair. It's brilliant as there is a lifetime guarantee and the way to clean it is to just run it under the hot tap then roll in onto a tea towel to dry it. It then goes sticky again. It doesn't make your hands sticky or anything else it touches though.........Oh by the way the free gift was a cloth to clean screens, but the rollers were only £26.95 instead of the £65 they retail for. There is one with a long handle for the floors, it does hard floors too, another one medium size for sofa's curtains, etc...and finally a small one, you can put in your pocket or handbag for clothes.
Sorry I've just realised how much I have gone on about these rollers, do you get the impression I love them LOL :-D :-D
I haven't caught up with the posts yet so will do that later as I'd better get back to helping OH empty the loft. The woman rang back yesterday afternoon and they are coming to do the insulation on Wednesday, at 9 to 9.30am, the first job of the day. It should take about an hour, so not long and timed just right as OH now has time to clear the loft without having to rush.
Well, I'd better get off, see you all later <3

Afternoon all,
I woke this morning coughing and sneezing, so stayed in bed with the radio till10.30. Had a shower and shave, got dressed, and have been watching T.V.
Tony rang to see if I was going to the pub, but decided not to, so I am watching the match at home.
I have had a letter from thr Drs regarding my appointment about my knee. I have a choice between the General Hospital or THE THREE SHIRES which is a big PRIVATE HOSPITAL. So I think you know where I will go. Stylish that's Me ;-) ;-) ;-)
;Thanks Ann for that info, I will try to do that a bit later.
Ros raNG cAROLYN TO SEE IF SHE NEEDED ANY SHOPPING (sorry)but John said she is not well and is in bed. Ros will no doubt pop round this afternoon.
Poor Martine. She and her OH were offered a few days in a Caravan on the East Coast, so went down on Monday in all that rain. Got to the site, and got bogged down in the mud. There was no gas in the caravan hence no HOT WATER. They got a new gas bottle but couldn't find the key to change it. Stayed the night in the cold, and came home Tuesday. She will tell Ros all the drama when she met her this morning.
I am beginning to get hungry so I hope Ros hasn'r called in on Carolyn, before bring my lunch home.

Good news for your appointment Frank and going private too.....not bad. When are you going?
What a shame for Martine and her OH going to the caravan. After everything you said Frank I don't blame them for coming home the following day. Do they have any plans to go some where later in the year? Hopefully if they do, the weather will be better for them and they'll have a great time.
Sorry to hear Carolyn isn't very well and hope she feels better soon. Poor Ros, all this running around for everyone, she'll be ill herself if she doesn't slow down a bit. I hope you start feeling better soon Frank, there's a lot of bugs doing the rounds at the moment, hopefully when the good weather gets here everyone will finally be okay.
How's your indigestion today Mel, hope it's all cleared up now? A hot drink is a good idea from Mandy. Have you tried eating a few mints, that might help too?
We have a bit of sun now Mandy, which is good as OH is still putting things in the garage. It sounds like you're getting there with the fence. Did you hire the breaker for the old posts? It's going to look lovely when it's all finished. I need to sort a few of my tired pots out soon when I get some time and the weather is good for more than 2 minutes ;-)
How is Cass now after her experience with a bigger dog Liz? I'm pleased to hear you see your children and keep in touch with them quite often. I'm hoping Michelle will be like that one day. At the moment she has a boyfriend so I think she's forgotten she has a family too :-(. She's moving in with her boyfriend today, so I hope it's not raining and everything goes smoothly for her.
Just having a cuppa then we'll get back to clearing some more of our loft. I just hope the sun stays out and we don't get anymore rain until everything has been put in the garage.
It's very quiet on here today, where is everyone?

I'm here now Gill :-D..I have the house to myself for a few hours.Chris and Hannah have gone to a concert in Northampton .They left at 4.30 and have a meal booked for 5.30 then the concert at 7.30. I have decided to have a Pizza for my dinner.I can sit in front of the tv and eat it :-D
The Three Shires sounds a much better bet than Northampton Gen Frank. You will no doubt have your own room and bathroom.Hopefully you won't have too long to wait.
What a disappointment for Martine and her OH.It sounds like it could have been a bit like a mini sitcom (although not funny for them. I hope you are feeling better this afternoon. Also Carolyn .There are some weird bugs about at the moment.I haven't been feeling great either today.I was really dizzy this morning and had a dull ache behind my eye.So I haven't actually done much at all.I did sit out in the sunshine for a whie this afternoon with Hannah.it was lovely and warm but then the breeze got a little chilly so I moved into the Summerhouse to read my Kindle. While I was outside Chris actually went and had a nap.He has been doing a lot of heavy work in the garden the last couple of days and I think he was just exhausted. Hannah has taken my car so that Chris can have a couple of glasses of wine. I haven't seen much of my car since yesterday lol.But Hannah is only insured for mine so can't drive Chris's. She goes back to London at 2pm tomorrow.
I hope Michelle's moving in with the Boyfriend has gone well Gill.I bet she will be glad to get out of her flat..I am sure things will get better with communication between you . Poor OH having a second virus on top of the last one. That is misersable. A mask is a good idea for him to wear when clearing the loft.Is it one of the industrial ones? Those paper ones are no use . I like the sound of that sticky roller..I have the one with sticky paper that you tear off when it gets full of hair /bits.I use mine on Thomas's blanket and anywhere that he tends to sit like on the dining chairs under the table.I think he is starting to moult,as I keep finding big lumps of his black hair on the carpet and he is beginning to look a bit tatty. Some days he is quite good at letting me groom him,but other days I can't get near him with the wire cat brush :-S That was lucky to get all your eye tests done .Sandra was brave wasn't she.As you say anything out of her routine or comfort zone must be quite scary for her. Tell her it is cool to wear glasses.I think it is really. When you see some of the stars they have the biggest specs !!!!..Look at Gok Wan !!!!
Mandy do you have lots of nets? I did in my last house (just in the front windows) where people might be able to see in.I don't have any in this house.I got rid of the cafe style one in the kithchen a few years ago..Remember you told me to go to the Range?
Mel,Peppermint Tea is a good one to try for your indigestion...We have some from Twinings called Thoroughly Minted and they are good :-D
It is nearly 6 so I think I shall pour myself a glass of wine :-D :-D

We've had a busy old day! Into town this morning get a couple of belts for Ian's timbermill, as it hasn't been cutting very well. It's fine now. He promised our son a wooden cover for his hatchway. He and partner have demolished half the wall through from their kitchen to the dining room which they're very pleased with as it make it bigger and lighter, so the machine has to be working properly! Then we went to Currys, then Safeways for a few bits and pieces + fuel, then home!! Cas is fine Gill! She recovered the moment Jasper had gone! He's a very affectionate gentle boy, which considering his history of neglect and being abandoned (found tied to a tree for several days!) is remarkable. Cas was just alarmed at his size, nothing more. This afternoon, it's been nice and sunny so we sat outside for a while, so not a bad day!!

Liz, it makes me feel sick to think that people can do something like that to any animal.Thank goodness Jasper was found and now has a lovely home with your Son. I bet Cas will feel more comfortable with him the more she sees him :-D I can never understand why people abandon animals in this kind of way. They surely could take it to a Vets or a shelter and say they had found it (if they don't want to admit they don't want or can't keep it for whatever reason). My old dog Dodger was found wandering the streets of Peterborough :-( and picked up by Dog Wardens .He was such a lovely dog.I have always thought he might have been the pet of an elderly person who may have died or been taken into hospital .He had a good home here and we loved him to bits :-D.Sadly only for 4 years.
Jut had a message from James.Loving Stockholm......but he has just paid £15 for a glass of wine :-0 :-0....I don't think he realised the price.....Now says it will be a glass of beer from now on.

I know, not from experience,! That Sweden is very expensive, and not for the financially fainthearted!!! Ian once went to Denmark for work years ago, and even then Scandinavia was very expensive! Jasper belonged to Gypsies, or so the rescue home thought as there had been a camp and they had moved on when he was found. I expect that he'd been used for nefarious purposes, perhaps didn't come up to scratch and was off loaded!!! Poor old boy was in quite a state, and even now he tends to panic when he can't see his master, which means that he has to go to kennels when they go away away. Nearly time for the Swedish serial, it's very good.

Sorry to hear you've not felt well either today Jane, hope you're feeling a bit better now. So Thomas has been on the roof? Good job you spotted him and could get to him through the window.
I know what you mean about cat hairs, they get everywhere don't they? I have got the sticky roller you have, but it's only a small handheld one so trying to get the hairs off the carpet when the rooms are big was so back breaking, plus the refills aren't cheap either, this new sticky roller I've got has a good size handle on it and just needs hot water to clean it, so no refills to buy.
That's a lot of money James paid just for one drink, you'd need to take a mortgage out to socialise there LOL. I don't blame him for going onto beers, I assume they are a lot cheaper than the wine?
Sandra said to say thank you for what you said about the stars wearing glasses and to tell you that her frames are purple (they didn't have pink). She should have them towards the middle of next week. She's feeling a bit better about it now, but still doesn't want the family or her friend to know. She watched a friend of hers bullied for wearing glasses when she was in school and it seems to have stuck with her, even though I've said that won't happen to her, but to stop her worrying we're not going to say anything to the family. When she is ready she can tell them herself. Your kind words Jane have really helped, thank you <3
I've just text Michelle Jane and she has just finished moving in, she is tired, hungry and needs a shower, she said there are boxes everywhere, but at least it's finished now so she just needs to unpack and settle in properly. Luckily it didn't really rain much, just a light shower earlier, so that was good.
Poor Jasper Liz, how cruel are some people, why couldn't they have just taken him to a shelter like Jane said. I'm so glad he's got a loving home now. I'm sure Cass will be alright with him once she gets to know him. Pleased to hear she's okay now.
We're still putting things in the garage, mainly empty boxes at the moment but we want to get everything in there tonight in case the weather turns, it's been lovely and sunny all afternoon after a dull start this morning. Once the empty boxes are in the garage we can start putting the other boxes in the two rooms we've cleared then I can start going through them all and have a good clear out. I didn't realise how much stuff we had and I'm sure we don't need it all.
Better get back to it :-)

I have had a great afternoon in the garden and cleaned out all three chicken houses. They now all have nice clean beds and houses and runs. My old chicken that was off her feet and then she ventured out a bit has been out today with the other two happily walking or I should say limping about and her curled up foot has been open proper this afternoon most of the time. With me cleaning them out I was able to watch her more. She now goes in when she is ready and get in her box on the floor all on her own without me having to put her to bed......bless. She is so sweet and natters away to me when i go round there. I think she may pull through now and I am so pleased. She is'nt laying but I don't mind as long as she lives out the rest of her life happy. The other two ar'nt laying much but it is enough for our Sunday big breakfast.
I feel quite poopped now and no indigestion today so I am going to have a nice glass of port tonight.
I don't know that Thomas!! fancy getting on the roof. It is lucky you spotted him and were able to get him through the window and back to safety. Makes you wonder if he had done something like that when he went missing for a while but managed to get himself down somehow. One of my cats went missing once and I found him in next doors greenhouse. He had gone in through a broken window but could'nt find his way out. When I got him home he drank a dish of water and ate nearly a large tin of food. It was at a time when Shirely next door was'nt useing the greenhouse.
Good you got all your boxes in the garage today Gill so you will be all ready for the insulation to be put in.
Off to watch a bit of telly now and get that glass of port.
Night night see you all in the morning.
