I'm so pleased to hear about your girl Mel, I know how worried your were. It does sound like she's on the mend :-)
Glad you don't have your indigestion today, it can be so painful can't it? It sounds like you've been really busy today, so indigestion wouldn't of been nice to have when you're working.

We're almost there Mel, putting the empty boxes in the garage, then tomorrow OH will get all the full ones out. The only other full ones he's taken out today are the ones with his stuff in he had in the garage the other week, which have only just gone in the loft. I'll be glad when the insulation is down and we've gone through all the stuff and got rid of most of it. I can't believe how much we have. There's certainly not enough room in the bungalow to put it all away, so lots of it will be going to the charity shops once I've gone through it all. I think it's going to take weeks to sort it all out. I really hope it's going to be worth having the insulation put in and we notice a difference in the winter. Hopefully it'll be a lot warmer and also a lot cheaper on our bills.

Signing out now as I still have some more empty boxes to put in the garage for OH. It shouldn't be to long now, then I can run a bath for OH and we can go to bed.

See you all tomorrow

Morning all,

Not nice here today as we have grey skies and a little drizzle to go with it. Did'nt get up till 11am today so must have needed my sleep after all the work I did yesterday afternoon. I don't think I have gotten used to the hour springing forward yet!! which I should have done after a week. I was up at 5am for a call to the bathroom and went straight off again after that. Had a funny dream too but can't really remember it this morning. There was a parrot in a cage involved and a hover ball which had been sent for and was white and going round and round in the air just above this square thing like an old record player. The other thing I can remember is a blocked sink nobody would put their hand in to the dirty water to clear it. That may have come from a program of Monty Donn's I watched on the telly on catch up as they had this sink in the garden as a water feature and it was overflowing to make a trickling sound.

Big breakfast day today. Nice and easy andthen cheese and biccies tonight.

Nice and sunny here first thing, has clouded up now, but much warmer. We were up at 8am, Ian saw to Merlin, walked Cas and made breakfast. I had a shower, made the bed, and came into breakfast! We have the same routine every morning! After breakfast Ian puts Merlin out and takes Cas for a proper walk while I clear up :-( we then decide what we're going to do for the day.
Not much today, maybe mow the grass, chicken for lunch, but not much else!

Morning all

Lovely and sunny here today and quite warm, so that's good. We ended up breaking a lot of the empty boxes up yesterday as they filled the garage and left us with no room to put anything else in there. We don't need them now we've took the bungalow off the market so OH will take them down the tip later if he gets time.

All three of us were working until gone 6am this morning and were up again at 10am, so we're all a bit worse for wear. We've had to make a bit more space in the bungalow to take the full boxes that OH is now starting to take out of the loft. We're all aching in parts we didn't know we had LOL

I'm starting to get worried that we're not going to have enough space for everything and it might not be emptied in time for them arriving Wednesday morning. I had no idea how much stuff we had up there, so lots of it will have to go to the charity shops. Sandra is getting excited about getting her stuff back, she has CD's and DVD's plus some make up and other bits and bobs, but we can't go through the boxes until the loft has been done as we've got no where to put everything. OH is going to make her a cupboard with shelves for her to put her stuff in, but isn't going to have the time to do it this week, so she'll have to wait until he has some more time off work.

You beat me to it Mel, I was going to say Home Fires starts tonight. I'm recording it as Sandra and OH don't like it, so it'll be on the planner to watch when I'm on my own.

Going to get a cuppa now then start moving the boxes from the room with the loft opening in, to the front room so it's out of the way of the men. It's a bit of a nuisance having the loft opening in a room we could of used for storage, it would of been so much better if the opening had been in the hall.
Never mind I'm sure we'll work something out and find space for everything.

I was in the middle of a very large posting when I was cut of in my prime AGAIN. Good job no one was around to hear what I SAID !!!

Gillx Report 3 Apr 2016 13:41

Oh no Frank not again, I guess it's not the mouse then? Is there anyone who could take a look at your computer for you, it must be driving you mad not being able to use it properly? Yes I can imagine your French is fluent by now LOL. :-D :-D

Can I swap my day for yours Liz, it sounds so much calmer than mine is? All the household stuff is almost out of the loft then OH is going to get mine down as he said I have the most, I think I might have put some household stuff in with my personal things so it's best to keep it all together. I managed to make some space in the room with the loft opening and I'm going to cover anything we put in there with the cover OH has to put over his car, at the moment some of it is covering the bed bases we've put in there. I don't think Sandra and OH have much so I can put a few of their things in front of the bed bases and use the rest of the cover to cover it all up. We're all so tired and getting hungry so I've put the chicken in the oven so we can eat in about half an hour or so. OH and I want to watch the F1 but I might have to record it if we don't have the time to watch it live.

Well, I'd better go and turn the chicken over, then I'm sure OH will be calling me again to put the boxes in the other room. He said I'm better at stacking things than him........well, that's his excuse for not doing it anyway ;-) ;-) ;-) I don't mind as he's the one who has to bring it all down, so it's only right I do my fair share. Sandra is helping OH to get the stuff out of the loft as he said I was to short to reach. At least being small has it's advantages LOL.

See you all later <3

Frank Report 3 Apr 2016 14:50

I'll try again. !!

I started by singing "Oh what a beautifull morning" but realised it was the afternoon,

Glad the chicken is able to get about on her own Mel, I'm sure it's all your LOVE and attention that has kept her going. xx

Gill you and your OH will be the experts of emptying lofts. !!

;-) ;-) Where are you going to put it all when you need the garage ??

Hope Chris and Hannah enjoyed the meal and Concert. what did they see ??
£15.00 for a glass of wine. It's a good job you don't live there. You would be SKINT !

Ros changed the bed this morning, all washed and on the line. It will smell lovely when she gets it in. She has been in the greenhouse planting Runner bean seeds, and having a general tidy up. She has now gone to the Garden Centre to get more Compost, and I will take bets that she comes home with more PLANTS, for the garden. ;-) ;-)

I didn't have the best of nights with my knee. I was still awake at 3.00 am. I bet Ros was pleased when I got up at 8.00 so she could have an hour on her own.

I have been my usual busy self, preparing dinner for later, Roast Beef with all the trimmings, plus I have done some shallots that I will roast with the potato's and parsnips, just to add another flavour. and of course I have made the cheese sauce Jane.

Starting to cloud over, so I had better go and get the washing in.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Afternoon All
Oh Frank, not again !!!!.I wonder what on earth is wrong :-S...Has the air cleared now ;-)..Bet your neighbours heard you lol

Gill, are you saying you all worked all through the night????.No wonder you are aching and pooped. It is incredible how much we all seem to collect in our lofts.
WE had a massive clear out a few years back and i think all that is up in ours now are a load of suitcases,a big trunk with all the childrens old school things in,some boxes of books that James put up there not long ago and the big cardboard box from a flat screen TV.Chris won't let anything else go up there now as he said he is not doing that job again. So lots of things that could be up there are in the garage. You can't move in there.Good job we don't keep the cars in there.

Ah Mel that is good that your old girl has picked up :-D :-D.You must be so relieved .
I don't know about Home Fires ,but I am looking forward to seeing the new Drama
The Durrells tonight. There is something else on at the same time but can't think what at the moment.

I just took Hannah to the station and dropped her off for the train so she will nearly be back in London now. Both Chris and she enjoyed the concert last night. It was the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. She went to see her friend earlier who has 2 little boys and back living with Mum.Her eldest boy aged 3 has just been diagnosed with Autism :-(
Hannah will be back in 2 weeks for a bit of a Hen night. This will be the civilised one for family of the bride and groom ,not like the one they had in London a few weeks ago for all the girls !!!!!..She is also going ot be meeting up with 2 old friends who she worked with in the Prison. They are both married with children now.

It is all go around here. One side of us is cleaning the outside swimming pool area, the other side sounds like chopping wood and mowing the lawn.Chris has been planting Potatoes,Leeks Radish and Parsnips.

Thomas is curled up on his fleecy bed....I tried to have a look this morning to see where he might have jumped from to get on the roof.I am not sure it could have been from a tree branch.More likely from the top of the brick post on the side gate.It is still a massive jump if thats where he did leap from.Hopefully he has second thoughts about doing that again :-S :-S.I wish I had taken a photo of him.He had obviously been after birds :-| :-|

Liz has the field dried out any for Merlin? Or is he still confined to the yard.

Good Afternoon Everybody

Haven't managed to read the posts yet as I have lent David my laptop for the last couple of days.

Richard went off on holiday ok on Friday, after a lot of "have you seen my...... and where is the....." he rang yesterday to say they had arrived safely, they had stayed in the house before it sleeps up to 17 and allows 3 dogs, it's just outside of Bude not too far from the beach.

David arrived late afternoon but one of his friends was bringing a lot of stuff over ahead of him, a lot of it is stored in the garage at the moment. His future wife lives in Chile, not Cuba as I first thought.

We had roast chicken today as well, there were only 3 of us as Abbie had gone to stay with her boyfriend but Beckie is much more talkative when she's on her own.

Gillx Report 3 Apr 2016 15:56

Yes Jane we all worked through the night, if we hadn't we'll never get it all finished on time. We seems to be on track to having it all done without having to have another all nighter, so that's good.
It sounds like Hannah and Chris had a good night last night. Did you enjoy your pizza? What bad news about Hannah's friends son, it's so sad :-(
I was thinking did you have a window open when Thomas was on the roof, if you did, is it possible that he may of got on the roof through the open window? Just a thought.

Well, the F1 race is about to start, I thought I'd watch it while OH has gone to the tip, he has about three loads to take and the tip is miles away, so I might as well watch the race while he's out. I can't get anything out of the loft as I'm to small. Our ceilings are really high and I'm not very good with heights or ladders, so it's safer to leave it up to him.

Off to watch the race now, be back later.

Skint would be right Frank if I lived in Stockholm with that price for wine !!!!.I think James was really shocked lol. They probably budget for each day .So today he will keeping an eye on the purse strings .

So you have your new lodger now then Anne.Good job you have plenty of space for all his belongings :-D
So Richard is staying not too far from Mel in Bude. How long has he gone for?Lovely beaches there.

Gill ,no there was no window open for Thomas to get out .He never ever sits on a window sill.Normally cats like to do that.He was just out on the hunt and found himself stuck LOL

magpie Report 3 Apr 2016 16:41

Yes there are one or two things on tonight. We shall watch The Durrells, record Home Fires, and watch Undercover.
Goodness Gill, I don't know how you do all nighters! I can't believe you have so much stuff that you have to stay up all night to clear it out. Our loft was pretty full when we moved house and we'd been there ten years, but not to that extent!! Mind you we did take a few weeks clearing and packing the whole property before moving day! Never again!!!
It's turned into a nice evening here, so a little saunter is order!

Its been raining here all afternoon. We watche d the grand prix and what an abominable start on that bend.

I'd hate to clear our loft out as there's so much stuff up there. There is even piles of magazines from the person who mum bought the bungalow from.

I bet it is just as wet in Bude for your son Anne. Did you say he had 4 days there?

Evening all,

We have had another lovely warm sunny day ,hubby has been painting again and i have sorted out some of my plants in the pots ,the plants have been in quite a few years so i thought i would replace them with some new ones .
We have also been looking to see what needs moving or doing before we get Max ,we don't want him going down in front of the shed as there is lots of places where he could get stuck behind some of the bits and pieces that hubby has down there and i don't fancy having to get down on my hands and knees trying to get him out from behind some thing :-0 you tend to forget what scrapes puppies can get into.

Frank wash your mouth out with soap !! :-D naughty boy , it must be so frustrating when the words keep jumping about the page like that so i can understand how you feel.

My goodness Gill how many boxes in the loft do you have :-0 :-D you must have a lot of stuff to have to be up all night you'll be dead on your feet later .

Fancy Thomas getting up on the roof ,i wonder if he would have got down again on his own ,perhaps that's where he was when he went missing that time , he probably sat there watching you all looking for him :-D
I only have half nets up in the conservatory for a bit of shade Jane as we get the sun in there all day and it gets so hot ,we have roller blinds up the windows too so we can pull them down but i like to see out into the garden when we sit in there so i only pull the blinds down so far and the nets shade the bottom half .
What a price for a glass of wine !! good job he didn't order a bottle !! :-0 :-0

That's good news the chicken has perked up Mel ,she's not ready to go yet she likes her home with you to much . :-(

Oh i meant to say come to our town Barclays Bank has been giving money away !!

A chap went in to the bank to get six thousand pound ,
but the next morning a worried phone call from the bank told him he had been given £5,000 too much and asked him to return the money.
He said he had already bought some stuff with it and that he had the receipt for the goods bought , he never counted out the money he just handed it over for the goods bought .
Fortunately when he opened his curtains later his business contact who he bought the goods from was standing outside with an envelope with the money in .
After a cup of tea to calm his nerves he headed back to the bank to return the cash.

He was given £50 by the bank to thank him for his honesty.

Bet the cashier was in trouble and probably had a sleepless night wondering if they would get the money back !!

I should be so lucky as that chap Mandy, it woyuld be the other way round for me. !!

I will collect on the bets later. Ros came back with pansies, lobelia, and other things for her hanging baskets, plus more compost.

I did have a "QUIET" few words when I lost my post, but it happens so often I think I am cursed !!! and allowed too.

Thomas is a little devil isn't he Jane, How on earth did he get up there. Here's a story I think I have told before. When I had the chickens one got over the bottom neighbours fence and ended up on the ridge of his bungalow. I can't remember how we got him down now.

Anne that will be nice when David gets settled, I am sure he won't be any trouble and very grateful to you for helping him out.

Not long now then Mandy before Max arrives. Yes, you don't want holes where he can crawl through, he will get picked up by someone and you wouldn't see him again. WHAT WAS YOUR ADDRESS AGAIN. I'm coming to get him

<3 <3 ;-) ;-) ;-)

I see we lost the 20-20. Who won the Grand prix ?? I see Man Utd beat Everton, so bad news all round.

Looking forward to the Durrels and Home Fires, Hope I won't be dissapointed. If I am I will blame you lot. !! ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3
