Morning All,

We took OH's car in for it's first service this morning and they've just rung to say it's ready. On the way home we looked in M&S down the road and I also called in the sports shop next door to get some of those gel heel inserts for my trainers for when we go away next month. I already have some for my walking boots and they are so comfy to walk in!! Now I won't have to remember to borrow them or put them back.

I had some bad news this morning. The widow of a friend I made in my late 20s has died. He bred the pretty beatle hairdo Gloster canaries I kept at that time and lived in a little old cottage that still had water from a huge old pump in the kitchen. He used to spoil me, giving me flowers he grew and also didn't charge me for one or two of his canaries I went to buy. His 2 young children I learned later from his widow called me dad's girlfriend!! lol Anyway he died very suddenly at only age 52 and his widow wrote me a lovely letter explaining her husband had been a very shy man and that my friendship had helped him a lot and brought him out of himself. When he died I hadn't visited for a few years as I'd all but given up breeding canaries while we did up an old house, but she invited me to have first pick of whatever of his canaries I wanted which was very kind and which I did. We had continued to exchange Christmas cards and the odd bit of news ever since and our cards always had bird pictures to remind us of Ivan!! Her son has written a lovely letter to me now thanking me for keeping in touch with his mother as it helped keep the memory of his dad alive somehow. His mother had been ill for a couple of years he said yet she'd never mentioned it to me. How sad it is we gradually lose old friends as we get older. :-S

POST JUST DISSAPEARED. So will try again.

Good afternoon all,

I wasn't sure if I would get on here today. Have been awake most of the night with my left knee and right hip.( I can see that everytime I back space to correct an erro r, it seems to take my posting away. So watch out for typing errors !!!) Ros had gone to "LINUS" by the time I got up at 9.00 am. I have taken extra pain killers (which I don't like to do) but it has eased a little.

That was sad news to receive Ann. But how nice for the son to write to you. It was no age for that chap to pass away, how old was his wife ??

What's on the Menu then, has no after effect from yesterday Ann/Jane.?? Rabbit I guess. Hope you have a nice meet up, and that Fitz, Here we go again. ;-) ;-) ;-) Not changing it, hope you can understand it

Yes I think it's today that Gill has her loft done.

It's been a beautiful morning here with sunshine and white clouds. Jan just rang on her way to Exexter, and said it's fine and bright down there. DON'T GET SUNBURNT MEL

<3 <3

Leg up time with a coffee me thinks.

See you later.

Good Afternoon All

Frank , sorry to hear you have been in pain with your knee and hip again, also that you keep losing your postings.

Jane & Ann hope you have an enjoyable time tomorrow with Fritz for company and you have a lovely meal.

It has been a sunny day here, I hope Gill has the same tomorrow when she ishaving her loft done.

We also enjoyed the Viking programme as well, it seems we are always looking into other galaxies when there is still so much to learn about our own world.

David seems to be settling in well but mentions his Mum a lot, it will be more company for him when Richard comes back on Friday. He seems to watch most of the TV programmes that we enjoy

The very tiny plug plants that I put in last week seem to be doing well in their pots.
there were 72 of them, 6 varieties but I cant remember what of so it will be a surprise but they are so small I can't see them doing much this year.

Afternoon Everyone.
Sorry to hear about your friends wife Ann.That was lovely of the son to get in touch with you to let you know and to say that your friendship was valued .

Anne I expect David is glad to have you there when he wan't to talk about him Mum.I am sure you are very caring and a good listener.Sometimes just listening is all that is needed.

So a bad night for you last night Frank..Fingers crossed that once someting is done this problem will be sorted. Yes it is Rabbit on the Menu tomorrow !!!. I have the feeling Thomas may be having another one now :-S..He will be growing big ears and a white fluffy tail soon the rate he is going :-S :-S

Last night I stood on a Newt.(Just lightly,I hope). It was just outside the back door.It was not like the other ones I have seen here before. They have been smooth and smaller. This one look black and had the appearance of a tiny crocodile as its skin was all bumpy looking. It was dark and I had a torch so couldn't really see properly.
I wonder if it could have been a Gt Crested??I suppose it is possible as next door have the lake .I have said to Chris we need to check before we step out the back door now at night just in case it is there again .I don't think I harmed it as about half an hour later we looked again and it had gone.I don't know why they find their way to the back of the house.Maybe it is because it might be warmer.

I managed to get a late appointment this afternoon to get my hair colour done.It was in really bad need of doing. My grey roots were about 3 inches long :-S :-S

Well I have rabbited on now (shouldn't really mention that word lol ).I need to get Spag Bol on the go.

I hope all has gone well today for Gill and the loft insulation :-D

What a nice day it's been ,a little cool when the sun went in but we did sit out when we had our coffee this morning ,hubby is still painting , i think he's painting any thing that doesn't move LOL i daren't stand still out there or i might get painted :-D

Oh Jane poor Fitz he does get in some pickles ,how the devil did he get his foot on the windscreen :-D
Hope he's got it sorted now so he doesn't have to do it again tomorrow when you all go out for lunch , i take it they have Rabbit on the menu ,just what young Thomas would like .
Hope you and Ann enjoy your lunch .

Frank how's the knee and hip now ? have the painkillers helped ?

Ann how nice of the young chap to write and let you know about his mother , not many people write letters these days , it must have been a shock for you read that especially as she hadn't mentioned her illness .

Anne glad to her that your lodger seems to be settling in ok , it's good that he feels he can talk to you about his mother , do you now how long he will be with you ?
Gosh thats a lot of little flowers in pots ,it will be a nice surprise when they flower then .

I think Gill said it was Wednesday when the loft was being done .

Evening all,

What a "GREAT(GAY) DAY" Larry Grayson. It has been beautiful here, wall to wall sunshine. It's so bright in the West I have had to draw the back lounge curtains.

I did a lamb shoulder tonight and did it in Ginger Beer. No difference in taste at all. So much for that advert. !!!

Jane, it will be worth checking on line about that newt, it could well be the Gt. Crested. How do you step on anything "LIGHTLY" ??? With your size 10s Thomas wouldn't even stand a chance, let alone a LITTLE NEWT. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Anne I am pleased that David feels comfortable enough with you, that he can talk about his Mum. It must be nice for him to be made so welcome.

There's another old saying Mandy. "If it's not screwed down someone wuill pinch it" I would have loved to see you running around the Garden to keep out of his way ;-) ;-) I have rested all day, apart from getting dinner, and washing most of the pots and pans,

Ros has bought armfulls of materials to make more covers. She has two big "HOMESENSE" bags that she puts the finished ones in, they sit in the conservatory till she goes AGAIN.

Did anyone see that old couple who got engaged before he went to war. They have meet up again 70 years later and are getting married. BLESS THEM <3 <3 <3

When IS GILL HAVING HER LOFT DONE. We all seem to have different days . one of your get togethers, it might be the only way I will meet ANNX

Enjoy your get together tomorrow ANN and JANE. Don't forget I would like to be at

Sorry it's just done it again.

I am back after having dinner and unloading the shopping and corning the bantams and feeding the hedgehogs.

Ann that was nice tohave a pleasent letter from your friends son. I used to love those Glouscester Canaries when I had the shop. Tehe funny thing is I used to buy some from a local farmer who bred them and his name was Ivan. How strange.

Anne its good David finds it easy to talk to you about his mum. Sounds like he really misses her. You'll be busy with 72 little perenniels to put in the garden and they may flower later in the year when other things are over.

Poor Frank I hope you get a better nights sleep tonight and not so much pain tomorrow. Have a couple of beers and have an early night....xx

Mandy I hope Colin did'nt paint you!!!!!

Whenever I go shopping oh always tells me he has had his girls round. When I arrived home today Jane from up the road was here delivering the newsletter. I said to him in front of her, "I see you still have one of your girls here" to which he replied yes buts she's the fourth one...................................

I was'nt very happy with my teeth when I got to the dentist and she showed me them. They looked much longer than the ones I have and they were taken from my actual front teeth which they lost for me after asking if they could be returned. I asked her if she could take an impression of my now plate to amke sure the teeth were the same. The ones on the new wax plate were wider than the one I have at the moment and made me look like a bl**dy rabbit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I remember rightly I filed this set down a bit when I had them home..

The bottom set looked better than I have at the moment as they have put bigger molars on the back. The ones I have now are like childrens teeth.

Gosh I hope they are ok.

DIL's birthday today so we will take her presants later this morning and have a coffee with them ,son has this week off work as the children are on holiday .

Mel i hope they can sort your teeth out for you , you don't want big teeth like a rabbit which fill your mouth they would be so uncomfortable to wear it's been nothing but problems with the dentist since you have been going .

Morning BUNNY MEL LOL and my Harem, evening Kim,

Wokw at 9.15am after an iffy night again. I had a few beers Mel and my sleeper, but still didn't get off till after 2.30. and I was out to the loo at 6.00. Yes Mandy it was just getting light.

Bit of bad news this morning. Val next door (who is not at all well) went to Northampton on the bus by herself. She feel over and broke her wrist.. She was taken to hospital, eho rang Tony. He never bothered to go straight in, but rang two hours later to see if she was ready to come home WHAT A BAST##D. How could any Man leave his wife like that. I knew he only really cares for one person HIM !!!.

Taxi driver Ros has gone to pick up Carolyn to take her to another surgery (they can't fit her in at ours) to have a blood test, then onto a hospital appointment, then shopping.

She will be nurse Ros as well now the Valerie next door is laid up. Both Valerie and Carolyn were at the back of the queue when choosing a caring husband :-P :-P :-P

Rain here this morning,I haven't got showered yet. So will get another COT and something toeat. Then get my a##e into gear.

Stewing steak in the casserole, with Mash and veg tonight. Nice and easy.

Morning/Evening All

It sounds like Frank and Mandy will be needing a little cat nap later .I too was awake in the night for about an hour between 4 and 5...I read my kindle until I felt my self dropping off again.

That Tony sounds a selfish man Frank.Fancy not going in to the hospital when he got the phone call. :-S :-S..He will have to get off his backside a bit now to help Val.
You are a good husband ,and I am lucky to have one too :-D :-D Some men just don't deserve to have a lovely wife running around after them all the time :-S

Happy birthday to your DIL Mandy.I bet the children will enjoy having their Dad at home for the week.Bet DIL will too :-D :-D

Well Fitz will be here in 15 mins so I better getr some lippy on and a qiuck squirt of perfume and then wewill be off to meet Ann :-D

I hope Gill's loft is done now.I think she said the people were coming first thing today

Mel .it seems to me that whoever is making your teeth is doing a really bad job.Your teeth all are sounding the wrong size from how you describe them...I would be kicking up a bit of a stink by now.....I dread to think what Frank would do ;-) ;-) ;-)

See you later

Not a very nice morning here, windy with squally showers. Mel the problems with your teeth sound awful. It's been one thing after another, and still they aren't right!! perhaps you could change your dental practice? If not I really would be having serious words with your present Dentist. Either she can do your teeth properly or not, you shouldn't have to put up with such poor treatment.
Dear me! These uncaring husbands!! Thankfully I've not got one of those, and would have dumped him if I had!! I've had friends though who have had chauvinistic/ pig husbands who treated them like skivvies and there's nothing worse!!
I hope Jane and Ann have a nice day.

Morning all just,

Did'nt wake till 20 past 11 after getting up at 10 to 8 for the loo. Looked out the win dow and it ws grey and raining with a wind too so I went back to bed as there was no heating on and I was cold.

Happy Birthday Mandy's DIL have a great day with all the family around you. x

Jane and Ann have a lovely lunch out with Fitz today and tell us all what you had to eat when you get back please. We always like to know what you indulge in when you're away from home you know.

Hope Gill's is all done now and there's not too much dust to cler up keeping her busy for days on end.

Poor Val. If something like that happened to me oh would be there before you could say knife! I hope he looks after her a bit better when she gets home and he will have to do things for himself a bit more while she is out of action.

Oh I have been there, read the book and got the Tee shirt. Soon after I had to wear dentures, the bottom set kept breaking. The dentist swore I had miss treated them. I said "YES I HAVE BEEN CHEWING FOOD" I made it quite clear that I wanted new impressions and NEW TEETH at no CHARGE TO ME. This was done without another word !!!

I really shouldn't be left alone. I had my shower and as I came out of the cubicle I stumbled backwards and hit my shoulder on the shower unit. So I expect a nice bruise to appear later.. I don't know what Madam will say.
:-0 :-0

Ros rang to say she was sitting in the hospital waiting for Carolyn to see the doctor. and asked if I had rang Tony to see how Valerie was. No way, if he wants us to know he can ring me. Oh how that man has gone down in my estimation :-( :-( :-(

The sun has got it's hat on now, even though there are plenty of clouds around.

I wonder if Jane will have RABBIT for lunch and take a doggy bag home for THOMAS :-D :-D :-D

I fwel as though I am all dressed up with nowhere to go. All clean and shaven, Clean trousers and shirt. I think I will have to be satified with sitting in the conservatory with my book. POOR OLD ME !!!

Ah Frank I am here to keep you company.

We keep having hail showers and then sunshine but there is a cold wind too. It has been mostly bright though.

Oh's car is back from its MOT and did'nt have to have anything done as it passed straight away. Not surprizing really as he dos'nt use it much and I doubt it has done more than 70 miles since the last one. We tend to use mine if we do go out.

Suns out again now and there is blue sky with white clouds.
