Morning All and evening Kim,
A quiet morning here as the wind has dropped and the sun is shining.
So Janice popped off with a large doggy bag last night did she? It will be Mandy next with the doggy bag!! I bet they will greet her with their noses in her bag when she got home.
Not long now Mandy till 1 o'clock and I bet you are on tenter hooks now. Get the camera ready as you know we will all want the first pics sent to us.
Hope all goes well at the funeral today and its not raining when you have to walk up that long road.
Fancy Chris saving a bee..I am impressed. Yes the method seems to work for when they get a bit cold. Where did he find his bee?
I enjoyed the Durrells last night but it was a bit slow. Home fires wqas good too. I may have another go at Undercover on catch up and see if I can get into it a bit more. I did understand that the hubby was a police officer and that she did'nt know anything about that and that we went back to 1996 to see what happened to him then. 1996 dos'nt sound that long ago but it is 20 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the year before I was with oh.

Our busy day has evaporated as its so wet here, so we're doing a few indoor jobs like the light in the shower cubicle that needs attention! You'll soon have your puppy Mandy, who will certainly keep you busy! Our little girl is chasing her teddy up and down the passageway, a quick wee then hopefully she'll have a nap!!! Daughter is fine Jane! Still a bit bruised but ok. The children are back to school today, P is doing her GCSE's this summer. She passed Maths and Spanish(!) last summer to lessen the exam burden this year. She's taking six more exams! this term, then is going into the V1th form in the autumn to start on her chosen A'levels. Sooner her than me!!! I thought the Durrells was slow last night, and the poetic licence can be a bit annoying! Still the scenery is lovely and the sea perfect for a swim!

Mandy, how exciting collecting Max today, he is a lucky boy going to a loving home, the same as everyone else I'm looking forward to seeing his photo again, I expect he is a lot bigger now bless him.
I haven't had time to read the posts for a couple of days as David has been borrowing my laptop. Richard has been trying to connect him to the wi-fi without any luck so far, as his computer is quite an old model. He is trying to persuade him to buy a laptop as the present one would cost too much to ship out to Chile and it would make his life easier now. He is a little old fashioned in some ways doesn't even have a mobile phone which is unusual for his age group, even I have a very basic one!!
Paul, Richard and the two girls all have the all singing all dancing ones.
Typical April day here with sunshine and showers, Amy had her walk in the sunshine at least.

Welcome to the FAMILY MAX, <3 <3 <3
Will try again,
No hospital visit for Rod today. Carolyn thought is was only fair to get someone else to wait around for her blood count. So Ros in in the garden planting pansies in one of the planters. She has done two of the five hanging baskets which are now hanging in the green house for a couple of weeks till they can go out.
I have had my appointment confirmed for 25th April at 6.00pm To see a Mr Munday. From what the letter says I should be treaded within the 18 week NHS lines. WE WILL SEE !!!
I'm glad we didn't have a ship wreck Mel. It gave the coa stgaurds a day off ;-) ;-) ;-)
Liz, has there been any feed back from your daughter and her fall down the stairs. Where is the bruising coming out ???
Well my dinner was a resounding success. Carolyn ate enough to feed an army. John comlimented on my crackling and gravy. I had to explain to TWO 70 years olds how to make gravy and prepare pork crackling. I felt like Gordon Ramsey. !!!
I assume that "OUR" little MAX has arrived home by now. Heres wishing him a very happy life with Mandy and Co. xxxx
Ros is out to dinner tomorrow night at a very nice and expensive restaurant with the committee of Stitchery do.. She is being picked up at 6.45 pm. So I might do a Tony and go to the pub for a bite to eat while I watch any football, and I might have a pint or three. !!
I see Tony's car is out. Now sure if it is to take Val to hospital, ot that he's gone shopping :-D :-D
Ros has just come up to the patio table to collect more plants to go in the hanging baskets. WHO KNOWS I might have a clear table soon.
I have made her a COT, so will get myself something now, and go back to put my leg up.

Suns still out here and we've had a nice salad lunch. I am now going to put the washing on the line that finished when we were sitting down to lunch. Watched Doctors and oh has gone out into the garden.
The yacht is still in the study on the windowsill so not launched back into the pond yet.
Our forcast for the rest of the week is rain rain and more rain so I am off into the garden this afternoon too.
Liz pleased your daughter is not feeling too bad this morning after her fall down the stairs.
No pic yet of OUR little Max. I bet Mandy is playing with him and cleaning up afte him. Don't forget Mandy in one out the other so after each feed it is out in the garden quick. You can usually time their wee's to catch those too. Thats what I did with my Russell pups, Tilly Trotter and Shammrock her pup that I kept.

What lovely names for the dogs Mel, When did you have them ?? Lovely Photo of little MAX, even though we can't see much of him. I'm sure he will be a great delight to you Mandy. You are making me broody ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3 <3
Ros is still in the garden, I have just been down to her to see how long she is going to be out there. ?? I'll be in when I am ready, and cleared up. So that's me told. !!!
The chap I asked to call and do a few jobs for me, hasn't been near nor by, So it looks like I will need to find someone else. The lawns could do with a cut, but I am not doing that job today.
Cold pork and fresh veg for tonight. There's a bit of Apple pie left so I expect madam will have that. :-D :-D

We're home , he's just nodded off after a good sniff round a good play a wee and he even left me his first little package at the moment the wee pads are not working !! :-D :-D
He was very vocal all the way home ,he's just nodded off on hubby's lap, i put him on his bed and he woke up and came trotting up to me ,so hubby said put him back on my lap just for today :-) He has had a go at my slippers ,he's got under hubby's chair ,had a go at the wood near the wood burner and put his paw in his water bowl , we're both having five minutes while he's asleep LOL
He's so black so it's hard to see him on the photo ,plus he's so on the go and as soon as i try to take a photo he's moved and all i get is his tail or he's turned his head LOL

He looks a dear little chap Mandy! I think you can spoil him for a day or two till he gets his bearings! Our young lady is asleep as she's had a good run this afternoon! I've finally been able to take a protective brick away from her water bowl! She used to put her paw in it and upset it all over the floor! But that's finally stopped. Better afternoon here!

Ahhh Mandy. He looks so sweet there on his blanket. So he has left his marks already then LOL..You can get a spray to spray on things you don't want him to have a go at.I don't know how well it works. But any furniture that he might have a chew at might be worth giving a squirt.I got one and have sprayed the sides of the new suite, and touch wood I haven't seen Thomas trying to claw (yet).
Is OH feeling better now after his night of sickness and the runs?I hope it isn't passed on to you now..You will have your hands full :-D :-D
Chris has just been looking at his car insurance..The one he is with now(Saffron) has quoted £560 to renew !!!..He has found that Admiral will do it for £280 !!!!!!!..What a difference.
Frank I am sure you will find someone locally who will come and do what you need in the garden.Do you have a local booklet each month through the door like we do here? There would be ads in there I am sure.I was watching my neighbour 2 doors down this morning trying to mow his front lawn.I think he is 78 now and is becoming increasingly frail. He was having one heck of a job :-(.
Mel the Bumble Bee.....Last night Chris was sitting at his desk in the study and he had an itch on his hand..It was the Bee !!!!..So he took it ouside and put it on the earth in my new Herb Bed.It was still there this morning. That is when he did the flower and water thing. He was dead chuffed when he looked a bit later and saw the Bee had gone :-D :-D..
When is the relaunch then Mel? :-D :-D..Got a bottle of champagne to crack ? ;-)
No Gill today?
Anne,I can't believe that David doesn't have a mobile phone!!!.How does he keep in touch with the girlfriend? Fitz just has quite an old one.He can send and receive texts but I don't know what else (if anything). He refuses to get 'with it'..and is happy to remain a dinosaur lol
We haven't heard from David either for a while have we? Maybe he is hunting for a car :-D :-D
It is getting quite dark here now.I am going to have to put some lights on.There were a few spits and spots of rain just now,but we've been very lucky really as it has been a very mild day with a fair bit of sunshine.I managed to get quite a lot dry on the line. The rest is going in the drier tonight.I awlays seem to end up with a lot of Jess's clothes that she leaves behind :-S..Not that I mind really. As long as James takes it all back when he goes to hers.
I think today has been a bad one for Hayfever. My ears and eyes have been very itchy and I have been sniffing and snorting a lot.I had to close the windows earlier. The breeze seems to have gone..it is now raining :-S...Thomas will arrive soon .

I agree with David Jane, cheaper insurance can often mean less efficient cover! It's the old thing of getting what you pay for!! Ok if it's not a very expensive car, but we tend to stick with a reasonably well known company. Weather's improved here this evening, so we've taken Cas for a breath of air.

Evening All,
Oh Mandy, what a cutiepops he is!! :-D So cuddlesome with his jet black paws.....thanks for sending the photo, I was wondering if you'd manage to get him in a 'still' moment!! lol Hopefully your OH is feeling much better now.
Well OH offered to take me to the funeral, drop me off at the bottom of the road and then park the car up and wait for me, which I didn't expect him to do but which was good of him and I accepted as it was less hassle! The service was lovely and the great grandchildren even told us of some of their memories of their great nan which was nice. How much more confident today's children are than I was! The lady's son came and found me when we were standing outside after and gave me a hug and kiss and said he couldn't believe I had come and says he will write to me. He's in his 60s now and it must be 40 odd years since I last saw him.
Otherwise all we've done today is a big 'shop' and put it all away.
I've still to watch the second episode of Undercover. The one I've found hard to get into is Home Fires. Perhaps I just wasn't in the mood when I watched the first episode. :-S

Thinking about cars David? :-D Have you got any further?
Yes it is the same cover for the cheaper deal on Chris's insurance. It's all a game really isn't it .Also you loose your no claims thingy if you change cars :-S.I think that is so bad. :-S
Oh Mandy I can see you not getting much sleep tonight..Get the fire going and get ready for a night downstairs :-D :-D :-D

I don't think it is just a case of getting what you pay for these days though. There's a lot of variation in price with the well known insurance companies and different companies may rate risk according to their own systems and data so there will be variation due to how you fit their criteria compared with that of another company. It still pays to shop around, but also check what you are getting as some will include you paying for things you don't want. As a new customer you often get a better discount than the regulars who are renewing. ;-) They aren't daft, they know once you change to them a lot of us are too lazy to bother changing to another company for a few years! FIL stayed with the same company for decades and thought loyalty counted......how misguided and wrong!!
Are you sure you lose your no claims bonus with a different car Jane? Neither I nor OH ever have in the past or with our latest new car change. I always thought the 'no claims' was for the driving record and not the car. All you have to do usually is send/email evidence of how many years NCB you have (your renewal notice from your old insurance company shows this) to the new insurance company.
