Morning all, Evening Kim,
Ros came home about 10.00 pm It was hammering down with rain. Her skirt and top very wet from just coming down the drive. She soon got the wet things off and into her nightie and dressing gown.
The food was very nice but expensive. Minimum started price £5.00. Mains started at £20.00. Good job she dosen't drink, as one of the woman had a glass of wine and that was £9.00 a glass. !!
I had a terrible night with my knee. I was in bed by 11.00 pm and up again by 2,30. I stayed up until 5.15. and slept until 10.25. (MY POST HAS JUST APPEARED FROM NOWHERE)
Ros had gone to take the car for the back door repair to the central locking. They rang yesterday afternoon and told her there is a £55.00 dinostic (sp) to start with, then the repair bill plus labour plus VAT. so thst ain'r going to be cheap at Mercedes. She's just rang to say she is waiting for the car in a very plush reception area. (POSH OR WHAT) ;-) ;-) ;-)
We has Hail storms here yesterday afternoon, I don't expect Jane would have noticed, she would have been necking her wine no doubt. I had what I thought was a brain wave while I sat up in the night. I got a pad and pen, and listed all my nieces and nephews and thier children I also included my brother Ted and Sister Mary. (the only two left) I am going to ask the pub if they can cater for 70 people at one sitting in the restaurant. (I haven't seen it since the alterations) and try to get a FAMILY GET TOGETHER whether that will work I don't know, but I can but try :-D :-D :-D
Ros has just rang. The car needs a new back door lock £154.00 plus VAT. The labour cost (SIT DOWN) is £155.00 per hour plus VAT. I've told her to order the part and will will get it fitted locally. I know our local garage charge £40..00 per hour..
Tony has hung out the washing. I will show Ros when she gets in, I dare her to COMPLAIN that I hang it out wrong. It's literally slung over the line and a peg here and there. ;-) ;-) ;-) At least he's done it !!!
Glad little Max had a better night for you Mandy. You will have to get a "CAT NAP" while he sleeps today. Just like having a Baby. As my mother use to say "You made your bed, you lie in it" I mean it in the most lovery way xxxx
I didn't bother with eating last night. so will have a late breakfast and lunch in a minute.
I'm off, not taking anymore chances for it to go up in smoke. Have a nice day all, will catch you later.

Afternoon all
Sunny here today and quite warm to. I was sitting outside having a COT and lost track of time, so I've not long put the colouring on my hair.
How good that Max settled for you last night Mandy and you both got some sleep. Let's hope this is the start of him settling in now.
Sorry to hear you're upset today Mel, you have some good memories you can recall, which should help. Fancy the pheasant leaving her egg like that, will you be able to keep it warm so it'll hatch, that would be lovely if you could? <3
Hope James feels better soon Jane. Maybe driving isn't such a good idea for now. It sounds like he needs to get over what ever he's got before getting in a car. I'm sure they'll understand at work. He needs to look after himself to be able to do his job properly.
OH did have a better nights sleep last night Jane, so the bath must of worked. I woke early this morning and saw him before he left for work and he seemed okay after his bad day yesterday. He said he might have to go to the coroners court to say what happened but that won't be until June or July and only if needed. His mum is feeling a bit better after seeing the doctor, but had been unwell for a few days before that, so at least OH doesn't have to worry about his mum on top of everything else now she's on the mend. We're hoping to go and see her some time next week but OH hasn't got his shifts yet, so we're not sure what day yet.
How strange that your post suddenly appeared Frank. Maybe it's time to have someone check you computer out, you can't carry on like this not knowing what is going to happen, it must be so frustrating for you. So Tony is actually doing something now, about time I say. At least he's making you look good where pegging the washing out is concerned LOL. What a good idea to have a family reunion. I hope it all works out the way you want it to. That is a lot of money for the car, good idea to have someone else do it for you rather than pay £155 an hour, what a cheek, but I suppose while there's people paying those prices, they'll keep charging them.
Well, I'd better go and run a bath to rinse my hair, the colouring needs to come off in 20 minutes. I have to much hair to rinse it in the bathroom sink.
See you all later <3

That came through 3 TIMES Frank, I guess you lost another post. Maybe it'll turn up later like the last one did.
Do you go to Genes on a link you have? Maybe you could try coming on here through the web address, start again from scratch so to speak, it might work and not be your computer after all. It could just be a bad link to do with Genes. Give it a go and see what happens, you must be getting really cheesed off by now :-( :-S

Hello Everyone
It's a very warm day here and apart from taking Amy out, I've just done some vacuuming & dusting. The down side of bright sunlight is that it show up the dust so I had to get motivated.
So little Max is settling down to a routine now Mandy it sounds as he needs you close by for reassurance especially at bed time.
Frank sorry to hear your knee is causing you a restless night again, a big family get together will be lovely if everyone can make it. Do they all live a reasonable distance away? That is a lot of money to pay for car repairs we were lucky with garage charges as Peter used to work for a vauxhall main dealer and never paid labour charges and only cost price for parts .
Mel I do know how you are feeling about your lovely Dad but at least you have happy memories of him as I do of mine ,unfortunately not for my mother. That pheasant doesn't have the maternal instinct will there still be a little chick?
Gill, I hope your OH also has a better day today and Sandra is enjoying seeing more squirrels, she would love it here as we have loads of them spending most of the day chasing one another across the pine trees.
Liz it must be a relief for your OH and you getting reassurance from the specialist with such good positive news.
How is James today Jane, my old boss used to suffer with the same condition it seemed to come back now & again.
Ann I hope you enjoyed your carvery lunch and trip to the garden centre.

What a price they charge Frank ,makes your local garage seem cheap but even for forty pound an hour it's a good bit of money ,i wonder how much the poor men doing the job get an hour , probably only a tenner !!
The family get together sounds a nice idea ,you just need to find a date that will suit everyone.
Well Max has been playing out in the garden and worn his self out he's now fast asleep. I've called Max a couple of times today and he came to his name ,hubby thought i was just saying that but i said watch this then i called him and he came and then i called out Toby and he took no notice i then called Max again and he came so i think he does know alreafy how good is that !!
How is James feeling now Jane? It must have been awful going so dizzy like that .
I have a chicken in the oven ,we're not having a roast i think it will be some nice mashed potatoes and some sort of veg ,will have to see whats in the fridge

How clever Max is Mandy, did you teach him to come to call? Training dogs must be great. Don't dog trainers use some sort of clicker as a reward? I think they start off with the clicker and a treat then gradually stop the treats. I'm so pleased everyone got a better nights sleep last night, it does sound like he just wants the company as reassurance like Anne said.
You're right Anne, the sun does show up the dust. We've still got lots of boxes to unpack so at the moment I don't need the sun to see the dust LOL, it's a nightmare trying to keep on top of all the dusting at the moment, so I'll be glad when all the boxes are done and we can be straight again. I'm having to do it in fits and starts, so to speak, as I need OH to get rid of the rubbish and take the good items to the charity shop before I can carry on with more boxes, otherwise I'd run out of room to move and he's not off again until Friday, so I've not been able to do anymore since Monday.
I've finally finished colouring and conditioning my hair and have dried it, I just need to straighten it now, then I'll sort something out to eat I haven't eaten all day and Sandra will be getting hungry again soon. I have put another coat of paint on the ottoman and moved a piece of furniture from the front room to the back, it was in the way of the boxes I want to sort out, so at least I've done something today. Hopefully that'll be the last coat of paint, so I should be able to move the ottoman out of the living room tomorrow and hoover the floor.
Well, I'd better go and finish my hair, it's almost 4.30 and I started around 12 noon. At least it took less than 5 hours today, I must be getting better at it LOL :-D :-D

Mandy, that's excellent! Cas seemed to pick up on her name very quickly too, I think it's the tone of your voice. Millie and Toby don't sound at all the same!! He'll pick up what's expected of him very quickly as labs like cockers are very bright!! Our muck heap was taken away this afternoon thank goodness!! It had got quite big so it is a good job done! It was full of little red worms, we could start a worm farm!! I sat out in the sun after lunch which as really nice. Our swallows are back which is a relief as we always worry whether they'll make it or not. Also we have a pair of blue tits going into our nesting box, being very busy!! It didn't get used last year, but fingers crossed this year will be occupied. Called into the vets on the way home today and had a chat with our lovely vet friend. Cas, as far as we know, hasn't come into season yet and we want to have her spayed. Vet seems to think she may have had a silent heat, so she been earmarked for the op at the end of April!! We have been asked to stay with son at the end of May, so it should fit in reasonably well - fingers crossed!!

There was a Mexican guy called Caesar had a TV series about training unruly dogs, he called himself Alpha male against any dog. He would quickly tames and train dogs you'd think should be put down. You will find him on You Tube can't remember his other name.

Ha Ha Mandy ,I bet you won't get the dusting done for another week or so LOL.Just have a quick flick at the dust you can see :-D :-D.So Max has been a good boy today .Sounds lie the romp in the garden worked wonders.Great that he comes to his name already.I wonder did the people who you got him from know he was going to be Max?.Maybe thay had started calling him by name.Last night sounded quite good too. Will you take him up again with you tonight?
I hope your SIL's knee op goes well tomorrow.
What are the Red Worms Liz?Are they ones that just like to live and breed in Horse Manure?.I often see the pile down in the field at the stables and it is always steaming well !! lol.So the date is set for Cas's op.I haven't heard of a Silent Heat.
Frank, you should see the way James hangs out his washing..Bit like Tony I think :-S
Where did Ros go for the meal last night?.Mains starting at £20 is a bit steep. As long as she enjoyed herself :-D..Hopefully you will get a decent sleep tonight, and not like last night.Do you use Voltarol Painease Gel? I often rub that in my knee (if it is painful) when I go to bed.I really do think it helps.
Gill how often do you have to colour your hair? Hopefully not too often if it takes that length of time to do !!!!.I bet it feels much better now though that it is done.
Ann,I hope those cameras aren't pointing in your direction :-D..I do think they are a great idea for some houses to have.I know if we had one I would be watching all the time LOL,so probably a good thing we don't have one.
Mel I hope you aren't feeling too sad tonight.I think when we have had lovely parents we will always feel the loss.It is nice though to remember the good times :-D When Janice was here on Sunday we spent ages reminiscing about Mum and Dad.We did have a lot of laughs which was lovely :-D :-D
James is still not right. He is having a bath now and I made him promise not to lock the door just incase he had a dizzy spell in there. He certainly would not have been safe driving.which makes my blood go cold when I think of him driving home from work yesterday :-0..He really should have called and one of us could have gone to pick him up.It is a good 35minutes drive .We will see how he is in the morning.
Must get dinner.

Yes we did Mandy, they're round our fruit trees!! Jane, they're small tiny really wriggly darkish red worms in all this heap of manure. Mind you the heap's been there for a good three months, so I expect they'd multiplied. A silent heat only happens the first time, and means that it can be so negligible that it can pass by without being noticed! The blue tits are in fact Jenny Wrens!! a slight difference!! My mistake!! For certain our dogs won't need those sort of training methods David as they are both breeds that are renowned for having excellent temperaments and very easy to train with kindness, combined with firmness, nothing more. Ian's taking Cas to Cirencester tomorrow evening to have a picking up session with her breeder. Her sister apparently is well advanced!!! Think that ring needs to be left at home!!!!

I colour my hair every two or three months Jane, depending on how quickly it grows. Sorry to hear James is still unwell, does he know what's wrong with him, is it something to do with his ears with him being dizzy? I was very ill when I had an ear infection, if you remember it was the ruby anniversary party for one of OH's relatives and I collapsed and had to be carried to the car. I was also very sick with it too. It's not very nice, hope he feels better soon. I'm glad to hear he didn't drive anywhere in the end. Good idea to leave the bathroom door unlocked. I've had to do that with Sandra and OH on a few occasions when they've been ill. We do worry don't we? How nice to see Johnny's mum and for her to find a house not far from Johnny's Happy Place. When does she move in?
I bet you're pleased Cas is having her op Liz, you can now go away without worrying about her. I've never heard of a silent heat either. Can I ask what is a picking up session, is it like retrieving things? Sorry if I've got this wrong.
What a good idea to call Max's name each time he goes out Mandy, he certainly picks things up quickly, you've only had him five minutes and he knows his name. He sounds such a clever puppy. The furniture I moved was on wheels so easy to move. It's a fold down table with two stools underneath. I found it in the charity shop and thought it would be perfect if I ever have the new kitchen put in, then I can get rid of the big table and chairs that are in there now. It has two draws on one side and a couple of rails to hang tea towels on. I thought I could use it as a moveable island and maybe also use it for my sewing machine as well. It only has one side that folds down so it's quite narrow when closed and is now up against the wall in the back room out of the way, so I didn't hurt myself moving it. Hope you are having a nice time with your sister and BIL tonight <3 If they're anything like my mum they won't notice any dust and even if they did I doubt they would be bothered as they are there to visit you and Max.

Gill,it is an inner ear problem ,most likely resulting from the nasty cold James had.He does seem a lot better tonight but still not back to normal. He says the dizziness comes in waves. I am just waiting for Thomas to come in now and then I will be off to bed.I am reading a really good book on my kindle and want to get to the end.So I will try and finish it as soon as I get into bed.
I hope everyone gets a good night tonight and that Max will be a good little boy :-D

Yes Gill, you're spot on! It's teaching dogs to retrieve. As Cas is a gun dog and Ian takes her shooting, she needs to be proficient in picking up and bringing it back, not running off!! She does do this fairly well, but can get carried away! So a few sessions with a professional trainer should be very beneficial.

Oh Jane, he has my sympathy, ear infections aren't very nice and can linger for a while. Is he on any antibiotics? The problem I found was that any sudden movements made me dizzy, so I had to take it slowly and even then I was still a bit wobbly. Just keep an eye on him around stairs and of course when he's in the bathroom. Like I said I asked Sandra and OH to leave the bathroom door unlocked and to give me a shout if they needed any help, even if they had to drag a towel into the bath to cover themselves up, it didn't matter if the towel was wet so long as they were okay. I hope he feels better soon.
It sounds like fun for Cas Liz even though she's learning at the same time. I thought it might of been something to do with retrieving things. I hope all goes well for her and she doesn't get to carried away.
I'm just watching Masterchef with Sandra, we love that programme. I think Frank watches it to :-) OH has just got in from work and said he's had a better day, so that's good as I've been thinking about him all day. He's hoping to get his shifts tomorrow so we can arrange a day to go and visit his mum. Sandra needs a new pair of trainers so we might call in the Port and get her a pair when we visit OH's mum.
Going to bed after Masterchef so I'll say goodnight, hope Max sleep okay again tonight for you Mandy. Night Night all

I have had three bitches together and never had any trouble with any of them making a mess. I had an Alsatian, Holly and the two Russells all living together when we lived in Suffolk. Tilly was Shamrock's mum and she cleaned her up so Shammy did'nt have to bother. They usually all came into season together. We tried to have Holly mated but with no luck and were told by the breeder we took her to that she may have had a silient season whereby she was only right within about an hour or so. She broke out of the kennels and was found wandering around Clacton streets two days later. I was so worried but we never had any puppies.........boo hoo. Tilly on the other hand had 6 pups 5 bitches and one dog. We had the pet shop then and two girls went to one of our customers, the only dog also went to a customer and his wife who were just married. He was the biggest of the lot. We sold two others in the shop and I kept Shammy as she was the smallest and had a perfect shamrock on her bottom and her tail was the stalk. Her and Tilly were tan and white two were black and white and two were tri colour. They would all line up in front of the wood burner with their front paws on the fender. I did'nt have a camera then with a flash as it wouldhave made a lovely picture and I love back views. We had a kitten at the time and he would do the same thing with the pups and always managed to get in the middle!! I don't know if he knew he did that or not. The cats name was Dicken a black and white long haired just like Thomas.
