Frank Report 14 Apr 2016 20:01

How on earth did the topic of TOILETS turn up. I only caught a bit about it.

Meat and Ale pie was terrible. It was a DELUXE with love. from Lidl that we bought a couple of weeks ago and has been in the freezer. No meat just SLUSH. I have sent a complaint to the manufactures. Now I will wait and see what comes back. The photo on the box shows a lovely piecrust and loads of meat. Good job I had loads of veg. done.

I have rested up all day, apart from dishing up the meal. Ros cleared away and washed up. She has just gone to choir practice. So NO SOAPS for me. I have pre-recoreded them for her to watch when I go to bed.

I will watch Master Chef then find something to watch until I go to bed.

Yes it might be I need a SUGAR intake. I will see what goodies she has laying around. I think there are Mars Bars in the fridge.

Max is certainly being a good boy !!! He will grow so fast, that the crate will soon be too small for him.

Glad James felt well enough to go to work, he should get himself checked out though.

Ann there are plenty of tyres and alloys on ebay. Just make sure you have the right size ;-) ;-) ;-) I would hate to see you with a bigger wheel lol lol

Just had my Nephew on the phone for an hour !!! We have put the world to right.

Not again Frank, feeling shaky isn't good, have you told your doctor? It might be worth having it checked out. Maybe Mandy's right and you need something sweet.

I love the photo of Max Mandy, he seems to like his cage doesn't he? You said in your email that he cries when he can't see you, have you tried putting a large photo of yourself in the room his cage in is so he can see it. You never know it might comfort him and help. Just a thought ;-) ;-)

Sorry to hear James is still feeling under the weather Jane. Maybe going back to work wasn't a good idea after all. He needs to rest and get over the illness, but like I said that's easier said than done where men are concerned isn't it? LOL.

Yes us woman do multi-task. I've cleared quite a few boxes today and now have a few more things for the charity shops. I'm hoping OH will take them there tomorrow if he's not to busy. The washing's almost finished and the beds are made with clean bedding. I ran out of time to do the hoovering, but with sorting out the boxes in the living room it's just as well or I would of had to do it again. I'm hoping to get through quite a few more boxes over the next few days as OH isn't back in work till next Tuesday, so he'll be here to help. The F1 is on this weekend so how much help I'll get, who knows :-) :-)

You've learnt a lot about tyres today Ann, at least you know what to do now :-)

OH has just got in from work so I'd better put the kettle on and make him a cuppa.

Annx Report 14 Apr 2016 20:39

In the distant past I've changed wheels when I've had a puncture. Dad wouldn't let me drive his car or van without knowing how to do it. I confess the only thing I've done with the jack on my last few cars is just check there is one!! I'm not sure I could even lift the big tyred wheels for this car out of the boot without doing my dodgy back serious harm so would ring the breakdown people as you say David! Even if I didn't get a jack you still need a spare wheel for them to put on though or they will use the spray kit and ruin the tyre. I'm going to check with ours, but I believe some won't come out just for a puncture, but will call someone else to come and help and who will charge you anyway.

What a horrid accident to get crushed like that Jane. Dad and OH always drove the car onto solid wooden ramps to work underneath and chocked the wheels as well. You read of so many accidents like that. I think a lorry wheel blowout would have scared me half to death too!!! :-S It's a wonder bits of the tyre didn't hit your screen. I meant to say before that it's good that Johnny's mum is moving house. It will be like a new start for her sorting out a new place without quite so many memories. Nice and handy for Johnny's Happy Place too.

Mel that would have been a fantastic photo of the puppies all lined up.

I hope you are feeling a bit better now Frank. It's lucky you had a soft landing.

OH was out at footie again tonight so I sighed and said to him jokingly, 'one of these nights you'll come home to find another man's hat hanging on the door'. As he started laughing (he never takes me seriously) I added, 'and what's more it will be a bigger hat than yours!!' lol Well that set him off even more and he asked if it would be a 10 gallon hat? Remember in the cowboy programmes years ago they always seemed to have a 10 gallon hat!! :-)

David we have blocking problems in our en suite due to the paper, but it is the bends in the pipe that seem to be part of the cause. If I can put things delicately, I find a flush early on and then at the end prevents any build up of paper. When it got properly blocked in the past, the man put a camera down it to see where the blockage was and showed us on his laptop....no digging involved.

OH's just shown me his shifts and he's not back in work until a week tomorrow, so there's no reason for us not to finish the boxes. It'll be so nice to be straight again.
Once we are straight we'll plan what we're going to do in the garden. At least we'll be able to watch the F1. I don't know where I got the thought he was back in work on Tuesday....silly me :-S :-S

Morning all,

Ground looks wet so we must have had rain inthe night but not raining at the moment.

Not a bad night with Max he whined about two and then settled down until about five whined again and then i woke at twenty to seven and brought him down .
Two wees on the pad and a poo , he never seems to want to poo last thing at night after his last meal i think once he gets onto three meals and has the last meal at tea time he might not do poos in the night.

Better post this batteries going low.

That's great Mandy, I think you're getting there!! Have just shown Ian a pic of Max, and he says what a lovely boy he looks. We found Cas pooed a lot when she was very little, almost every time we took her out!! and we were a bit concerned, but it stopped after a few weeks. Cas also had an attack of diarrhoea, when she was about nine months, which we treated with giving her rice, scrambled egg and chicken instead of her usual food, which did the trick!! Thing is Mandy, labs, like cockers are such intelligent dogs which makes them easy to train, on the other hand they can try it on and run rings around you if you're not careful!!
Mucky old day here. We're off to our insurance company to alter our breakdown insurance, and to top up Cas's pet cover.

Morning all

Dull here again today and the temperature has dropped, so I didn't stay outside for long with my cuppa today.

I've been up since 7am and have brought a pile of boxes into the living room to sort out while OH has taken the stuff I sorted out yesterday to the charity shops. I'll probably have more for him to take again later. Sandra has gone with him and said they would get the shopping while they're out, so that's one less job for me to do.

It seems Max is more settled now Mandy, it shouldn't be to long before he's sleeping through the night. I think you might be right about him doing his number 2's earlier once he has more food during the day.....Let's hope so anyway.
Hope all goes well for your sister's op today.

How is James today Jane, hope he's feeling a bit better now?

Did the mars bar work Frank? There's nothing worse than feeling shaky is there? Hope you're feeling better today too?
How nice to have a good chat with your nephew, did you mention the family reunion to him?

So you're a footie widow now Ann. Your OH has a good sense of humour. I bet you have quite a few laughs together.

How did Cas get on Liz, did she retrieve everything she was suppose to do?

How is your old girl today Mel? Nice of you to look after her when it was raining. Is she having problems walking around herself now?

Well, I'd better make a start on these boxes, I now have three rooms with boxes in, but hopefully they'll all be sorted over the next week, then we'll be back to normal again :-)

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 15 Apr 2016 10:56

Morning all,

Its taken me ages to rea the posts from yesterday and you have been very vocal today too!!..

We too have a septic tank and only use the max type puppy ordinary paper as thats the only one that suits. I had bought a pack of those wet wipe thing with the puppy on them for use iwth mum but after reading the pack thought better fo it and gave them away.

I always find a good thing to do is get a pack of soda crystals and some bleach. Half a pack of soda in a 2 gallon bucket a good squirt of bleach add some hot water and that will clean a drain out good and proper. I use thiss to clean the shower plug hole out as it always gets blocked with hair from oh as he washes his hair in the shower.

David sometimes there are shared manholes with a couple of houses so it may not be Ellen that is causing the problem. When I was young, dad was a builder, and we had the manhole in our garden that served three bungalows. Dad would always have to clear out all sorts of thing he knew our house had'nt put down there. There has to be an inspection place somewhere. We have 5 manhole covers down our garden but as I say we have a septic tank like Liz and Ian.

I did'nt know new cars now don't have a spare wheel!!!!!!!!!! What a stupid idea. I have used those spray cans in the past and they make one hell of a mess of the tyre. I used to carry one with me when we lived in Suffolk just incase as I drove a lot of miles taking oh to work and picking him up again in the evening and going to the pet shop too. If I was on my own I would'nt have been able to muck about changing a tyre on unlit roads. I used to be able to change a tyre on my own but could'nt get down there now to put the jack under. If you remember I was lucky enough to be in Holworthy when I had a puncture last year and asked a friend in a shop to do it for me. He did and oh said to give him £20 which I did.

The other thing I want to ask Ann is , is there a space for a spare wheel in your car? or will it just take up boot space?

Gill nice to have Glen home for more time than you thought so you can get lots done.

Lovely little Max but we won't be saying that too long as they grow so quickly. He is being a good boy at night now and letting you have a bit more sleep. He is a quick leaner and will soon go through the night without waking you andget used to his crate like Liz's Cas did.

Frank hope there are no shakes with you today but be carefull please we don't want to hear you have had any more accidents. Mars bars at the ready............

We have a pair of very busy Jenny Wrens Mel! In and out of the nest box with nesting material! Also the swallows are sussing out which rafter in Merlins stable to begin their nest! It's all go here and certainly gives us an interest!
Cas did ok Gill. Her sister is more controlled than she is, but she has had the guidance of Mum, Dad and older sister! whereas Cas is on her own with only Ian to instruct her, and she is a bit over enthusiastic!!
Did anyone see a programme last night about the Clyde Puffers.on BBC 4? They were working boats plying up and down the Clyde and round the Hebrides? There was a TV series years ago called The Tales of Para Handy' which was about one of these boats and their crew. All interesting stuff.

If it turns out that my drain and the adjoining bungalow are connected and the cause of the obstruction is not our soil and tissue but something else that didn't come from ours then I feel it would be right to discuss the plumber's bill with my neighbour.
There are three females live in there and if it's female thing causing the intermittent blockage, then I know it's not Ellen's fault.

Good afternoon from a very wet Berkshire

Richard had his appointment this morning at the Nuffield Hospital in Oxford, thankfully they were happy with him and he doesn't have to go back for 6 months, this was to do with the cancer he had on his leg a couple of years ago.

Love the photo of Max Mandy he is a beautiful boy and doing very well too, he has learned a lot in the short while you have had him.

Frank I hope you are feeling steadier today, I agree that you should eat something sweet as Richard has the same problem sometimes and always has some glucose tablets on him, just in case.

I hope James is well on the road to recovery now Jane

We're in Wiltshire Anne and so far no rain today, just dull and rather cold! Our apple blossom is looking so beautiful, we'll be really fed up if there's a frost! This happened last year and wrecked it! :-| Cas is in her usual position by the log burner!!

Still raining here and quite chilly ,we lit the fire a while ago so we're nice and warm now.

Oh the dear little Blue Tit he /she must have thought it had found it's mate :-)
Best to leave the tablet for today Mel ,you don't want to over dose !!

Good news for Richard then Anne nice to know he's ok for another six months.

It will be a shame if you get a frost Liz apple trees look pretty when they are out in flower ,i think the temp should get low here but i carn't remember if they said frost or not .

Does sound as if they should help with the cost of the drain David if it's a shared manhole , are the neighbours easy to talk to?

Hubby has his appointment tonight for the scan so son is going to take him ,hopefully it will show what has happened to this piece of bone that they think has been broken at some time.

I haven't heard any thing from BIL ,my sister had to be in early this morning so she must had had the op by now ,i'll ring later to see how it went.
