O Frank I wonder whats going on. I hope Carolyn is ok and that Ros gets home soon to you. She needs to look after you now you have had another fall. Just rest up till she gets back and I hope you feel better soon. <3 <3 <3

Frank

Frank Report 18 Apr 2016 14:09

Thanks Mel,

Carolyn has very low BP and the doctor has told her she MUST REST. no housework or anything that is going to tire her. Ros has given JOHN a right old Bo####king.

I sat for a little while after ny fall, but as it's Green Bin tomorrow, and the lawns are SO LONG. I got the mower out and did the front lawn. As I took the mower round the back, I looked at the back lawn and decided to do a bit. I did sit down three times, but managed to get it all done. If it stays dry I will try to do them again at the weekend,

Ros took Tony and Val to the coach at 8.30 this morning. Soon after they left a man came who is stripping their bathroom, and making it into a WET ROOM.. you should hear the noise hre is making. He has a "JACK HAMMER" type tool and must be taking the tiles or something off the walls. I think I will go deaf if it continues. :-0 :-0 :-0

The SAGA this morning was Ros rang an ambulance and the person the other end asked various questions, and decided it was not an EMERGENCY and that someone would ring within the next two hours to talk Ros through things. With that Ros took Carolyn up to the Doctors and was seen straight away. Hence the opening paragraph.

I am going to sit and read what you have been upto, so I can keep up to date with your happenings.

Just about to catch up with the posts, when it all dissapeared again.

As I was saying, Mandy did your sister have a Knee replacemant ?? I thought you had to stay in hospital for 4/5 days after that operation.

Anne, That flat does sound expensive, but in an area where you live, I don't suppose thats bad. Around here for that money you would get a good three bedroom house.

Jane that rusty type mark on your sill. Have you tried these MAGIC SPONGES. Ros has a box of them. You just soak one in water and rub the stain, and it dissapears. I'm not sure what they are called, but you can get then in Tesco's.

Mel, That lttle blue tit is being a right pain in the bum, I think he must think he is talking to another bird seeing his reflection in the wing mirror. As for pooing everywhere, he/she must be getting excited. !!! ;-) ;-) ;-)

Liz, as I have said before I have seen Malmesbury signed on the M 4. It does seem a verry nice area, from what you can see from the Motorway :-D :-D (not a lot)

Gill have you finished all your box's now ??

Mandy hows little Max, if he is getting too much for you to handle, just let me know and I will be down there before you can say "JACK ROBINSON" ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3

Still no word from Fiona. ??

Ros is in the garden trimming the lawn edges, and pottering around.

No idea what we are eating tonight. I have a fish pie in the fridge, which Ros won't eat with me. I have got some Shin of beef out of the freezer as well as some chicken breasts. So I will cook what Ros fancies.!!!

I'm off to put my feet up for an hour or so. I hope the noise dies down a bit next door as I am getting a HEADACHE

Anne

Anne Report 18 Apr 2016 16:05

Good Afternoon all

Pleased to hear there are no bones broken after your fall Frank but no wonder you were shaken after it. Carolyn is so lucky to have Ros to help her when needed, her husband needs to get his a##e in gear and look after her properly.

The flat that Paul is thinking of buying is the going rate around here as Bracknell is going through a regeneration which is pushing the prices up, the flat has a fully fitted kitchen including all the appliances its gated with a private underground car park it all depends what his house is valued at. The town has the M4, M3 & M25 all very close with Ascot just up the road where it's even more expensive. We have two railway stations and not too far from London.

My brother flew out to Berlin today to do a 6 day art lecture tour so hopefully all will go well for him.

How is your sister today Mandy? I hope the pain killers are helping her to rest . Is Max being a good little boy today?

I haven't done much today Amy had her walk of course and I have done some ironing and emptied the dishwasher. Bo my SIL rang and we were chatting for over an hour we speak ever Monday, I wish we live near to each over as she can't drive anymore I think she misses getting out as much as she used to.

The sun has just come out but its still quite chilly

Afternoon All

Just nipping is very quickly now to say that our lovely friend Fitz became a GRANDAD just before midnight :-D :-D....Baby girl (no name yet) ..Tiny at just 4lb 11oz !!!

I'll try and get back here later.

Jane

Jane Report 18 Apr 2016 17:46

Back again :-D

Mel thanks for your reply, and Frank for your ideas on the rust marks on my sill.
Nothing has been left on the sill at all..I have just tried the Magic Sponge and that does nothing at all.I have been looking up on google and it says about using a rust remover. But I think before I do anything I will get in touch with the company who fitted the windows and ask their advice first.Yes Mel it the new windows we had done a couple of years ago.Hopefully I can get rid of the marks as they look horrible.

Frank is it John and Carolyn who are minted? Surely they could pay to get a cleaner in for a while if they are both not up to doing things themselves at the moment.
Carolyn sounds really poorly :-(
Has the jackhammer stopped next door? What a noise that must be !!!!!.

Mandy I hope your Sister has had a good day today and is not in so much pain now.

Gill, was the gardener coming to give ideas about what you could do to your garden?I seem to remember you saying something about picking his brains but doing it yourselves :-D :-D :-D..Was that right?

Anne,I'm sure it will all go fine for your Brother.I bet he has done Berlin before with his Art Lectures. We had a few days in Berlin a few years ago.We stayed in the Radisson Hotel which has an Aquarium that goes from the ground floor of the hotel right up through the middle for several floors. It was amazing.Chris loved Berlin ,I wasn't quite so struck. But it is an interesting city.

Hannah has gone back to London now.So I don't think we shall see her again now until probably the end of May when we come home from France. We will meet her at Kings Cross on our way back for a meal before we get the train back to Kettering.

Going back to Fitz's new Granddaughter. It was a planned home birth and it started well but after being given the drugs to get things moving nothing was happening and so it ended up as a C Section . Baby does seem very small for a full term. Her weight is more like an early baby, but the due date was the 21st so she was definitely full term.
Fitz and his OH are going to the hospital tonight to see their new addition ,and then Fitz is coming here at lunchtime tomorrow ,so he will be able to tell us all then.

Mel is the bird still messing up things?? Sounds like is obsessed with your mirror LOL

I just put James's dinner in and he has just called to say he won't be home until 7.Typical :-S.It is just Chicken Breast with Asparagus wrapped in Pancetta.I can wrap it well in foil to keep it moist and pop it in hte top oven to keep hot.I can do the potato wedges later. Chris and I are going to have that nice Scampi again (we had it about a week ago) .It was on offer in Tesco so I bought 4 packs :-D

I must ring Janice and tell her about the new arrival .

Evening all

What a chilly day it's been we lit the fire just after lunch , i went out and bought one of those long guards that fits right round the fire the little tinker keeps biting the wood in the wood basket and trying to get inside the fire guard so we thought it best to get this one that fits round it will also be safer when the children come as Lewis tends to go over to the guard .

Frank my sister had a half knee op , i rang this morning and she had had a good night ,the knee was not so painful but she said her Sciatica was playing her up now ,she has been doing the exercises and getting up every hour as they told her ,we are going to see her on wednesday.
Poor Carolyn sounds really poorly i hope she listens and does what the doctor has told her to do .
Frank hope you haven't got a headache after the noise from next door ,i should think it was a job to hear the television with that noise going on , lets hope it's all done and tomorrow will be a quieter day .

Jane have you tried some Cif Cleaner on the marks on the sill ,i use it on my window sills ,some times when leaves and flowers get stuck on them it can leave a coloured mark and Cif shifts it so it might get the rusty mark off, try it with one of those sponge pan scourers .

Congratulations to Fitz's on the birth of his new Granddaughter she's a tiny little one ,i bet he's so excited .

Jane

Jane Report 18 Apr 2016 20:08

Mandy ,sounds a good idea to get the long guard.maybe you should rename Max Tinker lol.I can just imagine Max thinking the logs are a great thing to chew on.So the long guard can keep both Lewis and Max safe :-D :-D

I have tried Cif ,Domestos Spray,Cillit,.Nothing seems to shift the marks. This is why I know need to get in touch with the company and get some advice from them.

My Sister and BIL had a bit of a traumatic day today with William. He got a Pussy Willow stuck up his nose !!!!!!.So it was an A&E trip....At least it was a soft thing. Not like a bit of lego or a bead.He was a very good boy and was given a teddy bear by the staff :-D..He has been given instructions not to try and sniff another Pussy Willow.

What a pity your Sister has a Sciatica problem now .Maybe that has flared up because of her op. :-( She doesn't need that on top of her knee pain.

I hope all is well with the new baby. She is very small for a full term .I am sure she will be monitored very closely for a while.

East Enders on so I'm off !!!

That noise next door went on till 5.00 pm. I assume he's having to make a channel through the floor for the drain from the shower. I know he is having to take the tiles off the walls as well. Just as he was packing his van to go home Two Eastern Europeans arrived and started to go through the bin on the drive. I don't think he was too pleased. How on earth did they know a bin was there ???

How old is Fitz's daughter/son Jane. I though he was my sort of age. I might be wrong. Sorry Fitz lol That was a small baby. Two bags of sugar !!!

Just getting dark here, it has been a dry day but quite chilly. Our green bin is going to be heavy tomorrow. We have put two turfs in it this afternoon.

Now you know you are getting fed up with Max Mandy. What time do you want me to call TOMORROW ??? Glad your sister is making improvement. She must keep taking her tablets.

Marcella on at 9.00 pm I do like the main actress even though I can't think of her name.

I just back spaced and the post dissapeared, I clicked on the arrow and back it came.

See you all tomorrow. Good night.

Anna Frail is Marcella Frank.

Iv'e been to Holsworthy this afternoon. Oh wanted a new pump fo rthe well as he has my one down there at the moment cos his one packed up. Mine is from my big water tank that I used to water the tunnel with so I am not using it now but may do in the summer for my border.

Gosh that was a tiny baby for a full term. My son was full term and 6lbs 3 oz. and nearly classed as a prem but he could suck so did'nt have to be fed with a tube. I wondere what they will name her? Let us know as soon as you do please Jane. I have some rust remover that I use on cotton stuff. I don't know if it would work on plastic but you mix it with lemon juice and leave it a while and then wash it off. I got it from the Kleeneze man. Its like a white paste in a tube.

That fire guard sounds a good idea for Max and Lewis Mandy. I hope it does the job.

As far as repeat prescriptions go Mel I order Ellen's over the phone from her GP. The chemist collects the prescription from the GP makes it up then delivers to our door.

Concerning my own, I phone my request to Pharmacy2U and they deliver by post within 2-3 days. All very efficient

magpie

magpie Report 19 Apr 2016 11:33

We order ours on line and pick them up from the surgery two days later. The surgery is in the village 3/4 mile away, so they will deliver if needs must, but for the minute one or other of us picks them up. We're just off to Swindon to John Lewis, then Sainsbury's, so best get on!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 19 Apr 2016 11:40

It's only about one and a half to two miles to the village so I ring the order through and then pick them up three days later.

Suns out here and its a lovely day.

Afternoon all,

Bright and sunny here ,bit nippy when the sun goes behind a cloud ,Max has worn his self out chasing a Lemonade bottle round the garden so he's now fast asleep.

Been to the doctors for my Arthritis review, i have to have a blood test as he now thinks the rumatriod Arthritis has gone and i now have Ostioarthritis so a blood test should confirm it.
I just drop our repeat prescriptions into Boots and they take them to the doctors to be signed , they pick them up from the doctors and i go to Boots about three days later to get the tablets .

Hope you have a quieter day today Frank.

Gill hows the box sorting going ? Are you getting there now?

So the little bird has taken a fancy to OH's mirror now has he ,all that flitting about and the poor little chaps not getting any where lol.

Afternoon Everyone
It is just like a Summers day here. We have had lunch outside with Fitz with a bottle of Champers to celebrate the birth of his first Grandchild..It seems like the name chosen is OTTILIE !!..Never heard that one before, and I bet it will be shortened to Tillie/Tilly .
Mum and Baby are home already !!!!!!! Seems very quick to me after a C Section.
I think I was in for at least a week with Hannah. It might have even been 10 days. With James I discharged myself after 3 days. They wanted me in for 7.
The reason baby is so small is because they think the Placenta stopped working properly (possibly in the last month )The last month is when baby puts on all the weight ,everything else should be well formed and so no problems expected.

Mandy you have just reminded me I have my hospital appointment on the 9th with Rheumatology ..I don't really think I need to go to be honest as things have been so much better pain wise in the last week or so.Maybe it is my Vitamin D tablets that have stopped all the 'bone' pain .I did suggest to Chris I cancelled the appointment ,but he says NO .

That Blue Tit is getting around Mel LOL.I think it needs an ASBO lol

Plastic bottles are great fun for dogs Mandy :-D.I think it is the crackly noise they make whe pounced on.
I met a lovely little Shihtzu in the post office this morning. His owner was wiping the dogs mouth as it dribbles. It has apparently had four of its top teeth taken out and hence the dribbling. It wanted to make friends but the owner was a bit cautious of dribble.I said it was no problem and gave the little dog a good rub and a pat (Just kept away from its mouth LOL) :-D

I watched the first 2 episodes of Marcella this morning.Just the last one to catch up on.
It's blooming good !!.I have been left with her uncovering the body of Grace in the woods !!!!!!. So I must watch the following programme now...I am still trying to link up all the people involved though so it is a bit of a brain teaser.

I am going to go and sit outside again now and get the last bit of really warm sunshine for the day. :-D

Chris has bought me a book called The Cat Whisperer....The Secret of how to talk to your cat....I haven't looked at it yet but I wonder if it tells me how to tell Thomas to stop catching Rabbits :-D :-D

Afternoon all,

We aren't talking !!! I had a go at her last night for sleeping all the time on the sofa (sitting up) I said if you are tired GO TO BED. (10.00 pm) She stormed out of the lounge and went to bed. I sat in the lounge until 3.00 am watching Television. I intended staying there all night, but thought why should I, I crept into bed When I woke at 9.25 am she was up showered and dressed, doing her ironing.

She rang Carolyn to see if she wanted to got out today. They went off 10.45 and came back at 4.15

There has been a lot of hammering and drilling going on next door. So not a lot of peace and quiet. We asked the chap if we could put an old Patio Table and chairs in the skip. He said there is plenty of room so help yourself. That's all in there now. so we have a clear bit in the drive now.

What a beautiful day it has been. I was going to rotavate the VEG PATCH but thought better of it. I didn't want to take a tumble doing that job.

What an unusual name Jane, I haven't heard that one before, but as you say it will get changed by children as she get older.

That little bird must have a complex or something Mel, What the devil does he think he's doing ???

Well I ended up marinading the chicking in a SWARTZ honey and soy bag. I left it for a couple of hours nefore bakeing in the oven. It was great. Must get Ros to get some more.

Tonight it's shin of beef in the oven I put it in at 1.30 this afternoon, so it should be so tender by 6.00. I will go and put the potato's on now and the veg in 10 minutes.

Might see you later.

That's an unusual baby name Jane i haven't heard of it before as you say i expect it will be Tilly which i quite like .

That is good service from the window company ,they might have some thing that will get the mark off .

I thought you were going to get some help with the garden Frank, i don't think using the rotavater would be a good idea with your poor knee ,could you not just have help with the digging bit and then put the plants or seed in your self.
