Congratulations to Fitz and his family Jane. I hadn't heard that name either so looked it up. Oh my word I just came across Ottillie Klimek the serial killer!! The little girl will have a time of it explaining how to say her name and spell it I think.........mind you you do with spelling a simple name like mine as well! She was a tiny baby, but it sounds like all is well with her. It must be nice for there to be a little girl in the family after Fitz having 2 boys and I expect she will have him wound around her little finger before long. I agree about the lovely baby clothes there are. I often meander through them in the supermarkets. :-) The Cat Whisperer Book should be good, do you ever watch My Cat From Hell with Jackson Galaxy? He is very good with cats.
I went with OH for his bone scan yesterday. He thought it would be useful for me to see where the new multi storey carpark is at the LRI in the city as there are zero directions to it in the old carpark and access isn't easy to find. I sat in the car and waited for him and the floor was shaking all the time with the traffic which wasn't very nice when you are about 4 floors up. :-S His results are next month so I shall go with him for those. Mandy I didn't realise you could have a blood test for osteoporosis.....maybe I should ask the doc about one for my knees as I don't really know what's wrong with them.
Speaking of docs I went to the surgery this morning as I've had a little blood blister type of lump on my lip for ages. Anyway that was fine, it's a swollen blood vessel and to go back if it gets bigger. As I was so quick I asked more about my heart problem and the leaky valve and she was very reassuring. She said as it is trivial it means it was hardly worth mentioning and that an echocardiogram done on someone my age is likely to show more defects up than I have! Also with it being so slight at the age I am she thought it unlikely to cause a problem in the future......so all good news! :-)
OH got halfway to a match last night and nearly came home as he had a really sick headache. When he got home later he went straight to bed but was fine this morning. He is wondering if it is another kind of migraine, but I wondered if it was the oil seed rape that's in full flower round here now. This year we have more than ever near us, 3 fields of it beyond the new houses they built next to us and 2 fields beyond the cows in the field behind us.
Frank that would be great if you could get the rotovating done for you as well. All these things will make it easier for you to enjoy your garden then. :-) Ros must make sure she doesn't overdo things with all these extra things she is doing too.
I see Gill is back to sorting out boxes........I must get going on MIL's stuff!! I bet your place has much more space now Gill. That's what I want to do, just have things that I like or are useful and make more room for a few new things. :-)
Mel, can't you tie an old rag over your wing mirrors to dissuade the naughty bird! I had a canary once and had no idea what 'persuasion' it was!! lol. I queued ages at an Alexandra Palace Bird Show to buy it as a cock bird. It was handsomely marked in grey and white and sang it's little head off as good as any of my other cock birds. I put it with a hen to breed and a nest was built and in due course, the pretty pale blue eggs started to be laid. The hen started to sit and eggs kept coming till there were far too many for one bird to have laid. Then the cock bird started to sit on the nest with the hen, which I hadn't seen happen with my other birds before! The time came for the eggs to hatch and nothing happened so I took the eggs out and candled them to check whether chicks were developing inside them and they weren't. Well, I tried the bird with a cock bird next, thinking maybe it was a hen with a better developed song than they usually have......still no joy and I never did manage to breed from this bird I queued ages to buy!!

Ann birds can change sex you know!! Hens can start crowing and change sex. Sometimes some of these pretty birds are too closely bred and this can cause many a problem.
Oh has been working on the ponds again today and then a parcel arrived. He had bought a scimmer for my pond but when he put it together my pond was too deep for it so he has set it up in his pond on the shelf and its working fine. I shall have his old scimmer in my pond instead.
I have cleaned my little loo all round windows the lot and the bathroom while I have had the house to myself. Hoovered the kitchen and dining area and done some ironing so I am quite pleased with myself today. When I got to the hall and moved the hoover out there oh came in and needed coffee so we sat down and had a cuppa and a doughnut. Picked fault in Heartbeat the program and then he went off to his study and I brought the washing in which dried fine in the wind and sun. Two lots all the bathroom mats in the second one and I was'nt sure if they woudl dry but they did. :-) :-)
I think Victoria Wood had had cancer for a while but I am not sure. I seem to remember hearing something a while ago but thought she was over it. She was a funny lady and I loved her silly songs. So clever. She was born the same year as my oh and the same date my son was born a few years later.

Haven't started dinner yet. I still have indigeston and the "RUNS" to put the carbush on it. That fish pie has certainly done something to me. :-( :-( :-(
Ann, My eldest brother (21 years older than me) use to breed canary's They would nest in the IVY around the house. Mum told me she would put the babies in her top to keep them warm. It's a wonder they didn't suffercate.
Go on Jane give the students a sight, will you falling in to the punt ;-) ;-) ;-)
Poor little Max, couldn't you have taken him with you?? I told you, you wouldn't be able to cope !!!
The sun is quite hot coming through the window at the side of me. It's going to be a wonderful sunset tonight. I hear there might be a frost again tonight, and getting colder for the weekend.
Better start dinner.

Ann the blood test is to see if the Rumatriod Arthritis has gone if it has then the doctor thinks it's now the Ostioarthritis that i have ,like you said i don't think there is a blood test for the Ostioarthritis, he was thinking it was Ostioarthritis as my fingers have started to go quite lumpy on the joints.
We have quite a few fields of the rape I'm sure theres more about than there use to be ,if this weather continues i shall have to start on my hayfever tablets .
I didn't know birds can change sex !! you learn some thing every day . Thats a good idea of Ann's to hang a rag over the mirror ,it would save you having to keep cleaning the mirror, bird droppings can be a devil to shift .

Frank, I popped a baby canary down my top once after I found it out of the nest. It was cold and not moving but soon livened up once it was warm. Sadly I found it on the cage floor the next day and it had died. For some reason the mother had rejected it again so maybe it had something wrong with it that she could tell. There were no Cuckoos in the nest! . It's nice you have a Blackbird nesting in your garden. I hope your indigestion soon improves. You'll have to keep a check on what starts it off and avoid those foods.
Oh I see now Mandy so the test was to see if you still had the other arthritis. I bet your sister was glad to see you even if she tired quickly. At least now she should start to recover and improve. Is Max settling ok at night now? Has he tried chewing the fireguard yet, the little monkey!
The exhibition sounds interesting Jane and well worth a visit. Also a nice look around the shops.
We went for a walk through some bluebell woods this morning. They weren't as good this year, but I think it's because you couldn't see all of them amongst the brambles. When we went around the field by the nice cottage it was very boggy and I had to hitch my jeans up to keep them dry. It was also very whiffy at one point. I said to OH that I had a horrid feeling we might be walking in what had overflowed from the cottage septic tank!!!!!! :-S We made sure we walked back a different way through the wood!!

I'M HERE MEL !!!! Good morning all, evening kim.
Still got upset tummy, have taken more imodium, so will see how it goes.
I have been ringing round the local Post Offices to see if they have any Presentation packs for the Queens 90th. Ended up going on line and topping up my account. I have ordered one, but have not had confirmation. So rang Royal Mail, left all thr details required. The recoded message said "Someone will contact me within TWO DAYS" Wonderfull service from Roya mail as usual ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ros was going to drive around the P.Os to try to buy one, so it has saved her a lot of time, and petrol. So she's out in the garden pottering around. I have showered but yet to shave, I have been on here ages trying to get this Presentation Pack.
STINKY ANN AND GORDON. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) What a thing to walk through, did you drive back in your bare feet. You wouldn't want that over your carpets.
Roger is next door today. A little banging and drilling. He hopes to get the floor tiled today, and the wales tomorrow. Tony is back tomorrow afternoon. Ros has offered to pick them up.
I wonder how Jane and Chris are getting on in Cambridge. That exibition would be a bit over my head I think. But everyone to their own. !!!
We have fields of RAPE round this way. Ros hates it, I don't think it troubles me. But I do know a lot of people are affected by the flowers.
The GRUMPY nrighbour at the bottom of the garden has been rushed back into hospital. I bet he has got into a row with someone and got worked up and had another Heart attack. Such a misserable person, can't get on with anyone !!!
Going to get shaved and dressed. see you later when I am decent <3 <3 <3

Been to the library so did'nt forget today. They informed me that my talking books have now gone up to £2.50 each. Thats 50p more per book. I may stop taking them as I think it is a bit much when a lot of them don't play properly.
Have you shaved yet Frank? Going to do a bit of ironing now and then get lunch and watch Doctors.

Yes all shaved and dressed. Been down the garden to see what she's up to. Getting rid of that bind weed stuff that gets into everything.
I have to get something sorted for dinner tonight. Not that my tummy want's anything
I have just taken out a FIFTEEN YEAR Warranty for Ros's sewing machine. They arrange to collect, service and return for £39.00. for the whole period.. The first year they will supply a set of different needles and bobbins. That alone is worth £20.00. So I think I have got a good deal. The first service is in October. all we need to do now is ring them in October and arrange the first service.
It's chilly outside, I am staying close to the loo. I keep getting tummy pains

So no more fish pie for you then Frank unless its a home made one?
It did try to brighten up a bit here but now its cloudy again and its a bit cold out there. I may have to go and put the old chicken back inside as I don't want her to get cold. I don't think she will ever stand up again and she has a really big tummy and this left leg stuck out the side apart from that she natters away to me when I feed and water her and put her to bed or get her out in the morning. Her cone is nice and reddy pink not like when they are going to kick the bucket then they go sort of greyey bluey mauve and they all hunch up. She on the other hand is bright eyed and has all her wits about her, her feathers shine and her poo is normal not runny. I feel I want to make her a cart to sit in so she can get about better.

Amazing what you can get done when OH's are out of the way!! I've managed to file a load of paper work, clean round OH's sitting room chair, Hoover, and polish OH's table, and put things back neatly!!! I've done the same to the dining room table, and you can now use the fruit bowl for fruit!! OH is so untidy, that I sometimes feel that I can't bear it a minute more! Oh, and I've hung his coat which he persists in hanging over the back of a chair(?!!) along with two pairs of work gloves, which are now in their allocated drawer! How long will this last? three days maximum!!

Good afternoon all
Had the Sainsbury shop today so put that all away and of course took Amy for a walk. I did consider going into Windsor to see the Queen's walk about but watched it on TV instead she is truly marvellous for a 90 year old and not many people of her age can walk without a stick, also the Duke at 95.
Liz your OH sounds just like Richard at least with him at work during the day I can pick up empty crisps bags etc, his bedroom I leave alone apart from bed changing, He also leaves his work jacket on the back of the kitchen chair and socks on the sitting room floor
Hope your tummy problem is getting better Frank and you are able to eat properly again.
Someone contacted me from Ancestry today regarding the brother of my paternal grandmother who was a Nicholson, They are in America, I did reply so hopefully will get a reply back.

No problem with OH's eyes thank goodness. He has a more thorough eyes test than the ordinary one as his mother had glaucoma and virtually lost her sight because of it. He said that its like an MRI as it takes pics right to the back of your head and shows up any problems. It's pretty chilly here so we shall have to wrap up for this beacon lighting!

Evening All,
I see Prince has died too now. It seems never ending this spate of the famous passing away lately.
Frank that service package sounds like a bargain as you say. It will keep Ros beavering away without problems for a long time won't it! :-) Yes, what a pong there was yesterday!! :-S I reckon they shouldn't allow that seepage onto a public footpath as it is a health risk surely. Luckily we don't wear our trainers/boots in the car, just put them in a plastic bag in the boot! Mind you we have kept the rubber mats we got in OH's car as he makes such a mess in there after tramping around footie grounds. I keep telling him to change into other shoes to drive home......does he listen!! :-S
I checked with our breakdown people about coming out for just a puncture and they do. They told me they try to get you to a tyre place to repair your puncture if they can but pointed out that that could be impossible if it was 3.00am!! They said the spray repair kits are not ideal and pointed out that as well as ruining your tyre they also put the wheel all out of balance and can cause other damage. So I have made an offer on a spare wheel and tyre on ebay. I was a bit wary as you can't tell if a wheel is buckled or not without a garage checking it, but this one is new and off a new car with just delivery miles so should be ok. I expect they swapped the wheels for more fancy ones and are selling off the originals!!
I've also bought one of those smoke fumigators to use in the greenhouse. The tomatoes were covered in whitefly last year so I hope this will eradicate any of the little beggars that have been hibernating! If that doesn't work I'll have to get those sticky papers to hang up.
The Queen does do well for her age, as does Prince Philip. I loved the photo of the 4 generations for a royal mail stamp.
That's good your OH's eyes are ok Liz. It is a worry with these things when it is eye test time. My OH is very short sighted and has some fraying of his retinas so has always had free eye tests and has to go yearly.
One of OH's redeeming features is his usual tidiness, but he does occasionally put a jacket over the back of a chair!! It's always gone by evening though. I just couldn't pick up after a man, it would make me so cross! OH hangs his clothes up at night and puts his own things in the laundry bags as he takes them off and hangs our towels outside to dry every morning after showering. It's me that's the untidy one.......except in my car that is! :-) I try to keep my untidiness in the study as OH starts to ask if I've finished with things if I leave things out in the lounge!! lol
