Oh Yes wasn't Line of Duty GOOD !!!!! I too can't wait now for the final episode.
Ann I have not heard of anyone having such a reaction to Immodium like that !!.Its sounds quite catastrophic :-S Where abouts in Devon ?
I think all the walking I did yesterday in Cambridge took its toll.I have been waddling like a duck again with painful hips today :-S..It was all going so well too.
Remind me please about Mary Beards programme. What is it and when is it on? Is it another Pompeii one? I do like her.
I am a bit grumpy with Chris.I jsut can't get him to discuss where we will be going in September :-| :-|..He keeps saying he can just think about our French trip in May and can't see the rush to sort another one yet. What he doesn't realise though is if we decide to have a cottage holiday everything is already getting snapped up,plus I will need to book Thomas in to the Cattery, and that usually needs to be done a long way in advance.I will just have to bite my tongue for now.Not easy lol But I can't be doing with arguing .
Fancy a dog to look after Frank? :-D..Hannah's friend who is getting married in Sanotrini next month is leaving it very late to find a sitter for her dog Roxi.I don't know what kind of breed she is.

Here I am at last. No new teeth yet as it was another fitting on the wax plate with the real teeth on it. They were all too big in the front at the bottom so she had to make them narrower. When I first tried them they rubbed on my bottom lip as they were too far forward again. Gosh I hope they are alright...
Good your mum is out of hospital Gill and hopefully on the mend and that they can sort out her meds.
CONGRATULATION LEWIS hang out the flags you clever chap. No excuse not to run grappy around now and to come and stay with him more.
Mandy yes those puppy eyes is what I was taking about when you tell them off and they know they have done wrong but just have to do it once more for luck... :-|

Jane. Caroline lives in Salcombe in Sheltered housing I only met her once at Sue & Nell's wedding she is a very nice lady. I hope she soon gets better. When Paul came with Becky I did ask how she was but apparently Neil had to come home as his 16 year old son James had been missing school and had gone missing from home taking advantage of Neil being away so Sue had to call the police, it turned out he had got into the wrong crowd and was into drugs. When he and his sister first moved in with Sue, in Neil's eyes they could do no wrong and were never disciplined but our two couldn't do anything right which caused a lot of grief.
Mel how disappointing that they still haven't got your teeth sorted out, hopefully they will get it sorted for you next time.
We also had sausages for dinner but with chips and baked beans not one of my favourites but quick to do.

Evening all,
Been raining here on and off most of the afternoon. Heating is on as it's a bit chilly.
Ros has been busy again, she went to the nurse at 12.00. Took the driver back to the garage 2.30 then went to pick up Tony and Val from the coach. In between she has been clearing dead leaves from around the pots on the patio. She also fed all the plants, as I didn't do them.
Jane, please let me know what type of dog it is. I won't promise as Ros suffers from any dog that moults. If it's a smallish dog I think we could manage it. I will wait to hear from you. WHEN ARE THEY GOING AWAY ??? If Chris won't make up his mind about going away, YOU can always take ME !! ;-) ;-) ;-)
Oh Mel, that's not good news about your teeth, I bet you looked like a HORSE. !! :-( :-( :-(
I haven't eaten this evening. just don't feel like anything. I put a large jacket in the oven for Ros at 3.30 She had it at 5.30. It was done to a treat. She did a salad and ham and cheese with it. She has just had pancakes.
I can't wait for Lewis to come up and see us in his car. He picks it up tomorrow after his Saturday job in Milton Keynes. He has told his Dad that he wants to change the colour from light blue to MATT BLACK. That will cost a fair bit of money, that he will have to save up for. As it's a 2003 car, I wonder if I can talk him out of that unnecessary expence.
I see my little boy Max has been playing up again. I bet you felt his nip. Take him in hand now Mandy, as you know how difficult it gets when they grow up a bit more.
Ros hasn't phoned Carolyn today. She thought she would let her get on with things on her own today. !! I bet she will phone tomorrow morning to see if she needs any shopping.
Off for my first cold beer of the evening, If I don't get back tonight, have a nice evening.

Evening All,
Sorry to hear about your mums Gill, I hope they both soon feel better. It must be a worry for you both.
So Mr Max is thinking he can do what he likes now, the little terror!! lol It's good to let him know what the boundaries are with biting Mandy......the sooner he knows the better and his mum would have soon let him know!! At least your plants will be safe from him while he's little now. It sounds like having a toddler in the house!! :-)
WELL DONE LEWIS on passing his test!! ;-) I bet he is so chuffed and can't wait to get behind the wheel of his car. I remember when I'd just passed my test and called to take a friend out and her dad was very wary of letting her come with me because I'd only just passed my test!! He did in the end and I was gutted at the time as I was very careful as dad would have gone into orbit if I'd damaged his van. When I passed my test in 1964 though, a woman driving a car was quite unusual, even more so a young girl, and I think a lot of men didn't really approve. Even years later after I got married and would call to pick my first OH up from work, the few other women doing the same would park the car then get into the passenger seat so their husbands could drive!!! Needless to say, I never did and it seems incredible looking back.
Sounds like you had a good day out yesterday Jane and you are spot on about getting booked up now!! I'm thinking of Scotland later in the year and as you say, many cottages are already booked up (especially the best ones!) :-S I have seized up too, knees and back, after that walk in the bluebell woods!! This is the cottage in the wood where the boggy, smelly footpath was. It is a pretty place, completely isolated and our teacher at beading class said this morning that her aunt once lived there! I must ask her more about it next week.
http://www.grobydirectory.co.uk/gallery/buildings_pages/08.html
Anne I hope the 'lodger' is settling in well. Do you know how long he's likely to be with you?
One of the ladies at beading class was upset this morning as she's had to have her 17 and a half year old poodle put to sleep.
You have been very busy today Liz. It sounds like that ring has been a boon for Cas and may have kept her out of a lot of mischief!!
So still no new plate Mel. It's time they had you sorted out.

Mel ,you must be totally fed up now with the ongoing trouble with your teeth !!!.How long is it now?
17and a half is a ripe old age for your friends dog Ann.Poor lady will miss it so much .Will she think of getting another dog now?
Frank ,I have been in touch with Hannah and she says thank you very much but she thinks her friend has something sorted now for her dog.It is a Cavalier King Charles.
I think I am ready for my bed now.I am reading a book at the moment which is very good but blooming confusing. There are so many characters in it,that it is difficult to keep tracks. But I am determined to press on with it :-) Night Night x

She has one other dog Jane and I don't think she will be getting another any time soon as she's in the middle of moving house and the chain's just broken! :-S
I'm off to bed now too, this oilseed rape is making me headachey. I like the bedroom window open as well which won't help.

Off to bed now, see you all tomorrow.
Before I go I've just noticed a new programme starting on channel 5 on Thursday Mandy, called "The Secret Life of Puppies" It's a dog's eye view of it's first year of life. The puppies experience their first eight weeks of life from birth to becoming part of a human family. I thought you might be interested.
Signing out now Night Night <3

Morning all,
Cloudy here and we've just had a light shower ,vets this morning for Max's next injection and then hospital this afternoon for hubby's ear appointment.
Last night Max slept in his crate ,lots of howling from him but we stuck it out and he quietened down after a while ,he then started up again about three o'clock for about a quarter of an hour then went quiet again ,i got up about six for the loo and he was quiet so i thought i would get him up before he started up again , so i let him out and he did a wee in the kitchen before i had a chance to even unlock the bsck door ,poor little man was busting but give him his do he didn't do any thing in his crate which was good , so from now on it's the crate at night and hopefully he will stop the howling .
Gill thanks i will have a look at the puppy programme on Thursday, hope the mums are feeling better.
Time for a coffee now i think .

Good morning every one Beautiful sunny morning here.
I watched HenryV111 and his six wives last night. Poor Ann. They used intrigue to get married bigamously, then because she could only give him a daughter she was set up with malicious lies then despatched. Her daughter, Elizabeth went on to be Queen.

Morning All,
Nice morning here too Mandy and David with sun and blue skies and white clouds. It rained here last night and all day yesterday but only lightly thank goodness.
When I went to feed the hogs last night I got down the bottom of the garden to go to the ark and threw a few biscuits in the edge by the little wall and nearly stepped on a hog. It stood dead still so I threw down a little tinned food and spoke to it then went on my way to the ark which was only about 10 feet away. Put the food in there and went round the back to shut the big girls in. wen t back down Prickly Bottom to see if it was still there and yes it was but it was being shoved around by a bigger hog. Chuckled and watched for a while and then came in to tell oh.
After that I went down again with the camera but there was only one hog there looking at me. I took a couple of pics and then heard a noise coming from the ark. Opened it up and there was the other big one stuffing its face as fast as it could as much as to say "I'm having this lot and there's none for you" I left them to it...

Mandy, very quickly as we're just going out! We were advised to cover the crate at night with a blanket. We did, and it seemed to calm Cas. In the hot weather we used a cotton curtain and just covered the top and two end sides (if you see what I mean)!! Just an idea that might help!!!

Afternoon Everyone. Lovely sunny day here, and I was thinking it was going to be a cold one.All the towels drying nicely on the line :-D
I almost watched that programme David but for some reason I didn't in the end.
That Puppy Programme sounds like it will be inserting .You might get some good tips there Mandy. It sounds like you have made another step forward with Max in the crate last night.Bless him,he must have had his little legs crossed!!
We had a dreadful nights sleep last night.Thomas too was unsettled.Did we have a full moon last night? I think it could have been.I also woke about 3 and had a big spell of the sneezes.it was then haviving to blow my nose and lofts of sniffing :-S.I know I definitely disturbed Chris then..So we feel a bit fragile today and are keeping a wide berth :-DHe has taken himself out the the Summerhouse.Just the job :-D
I was going to attempt a new dish today Spinach .Pinenut and Feta Filo Pie.It has Pesto ,Red Onion and Ground Nutmeg too...But I got as far as grating the Nutmeg, slicing the Onion and Toasting the Pinenuts, then decided to leave the rest until tomorrow. The thought of having to fiddle with Filo Pastry today just put me off.So I am now juat waiting for Potatoes to cook so I can mash them and they will go with Slow Cooked Salt Beef,Spring Greens, and oven Carrots,Parsnips and Leeks this evening.
I think once I have mashed the spuds I will sit and chill and have a read for a bit.

We're home again after a lovely pub lunch and a good matter!! We had left Cas so couldn't stay out too long! David, I studied the Tudors for A' level, from the battle of Bosworth to the death of Elizabeth and the union of the crown under James V1th of Scotland, 1st of England. It is a very interesting period of history, with lots of twists and turns. The Tudors had a very tenuous claim to the throne, a fact they were well aware of. OH is walking our little girl while I do her dinner. She was SO pleased to see us!!!

Bright sunshine here now with just a few fluffy clouds against a blue sky.
All sorted at the vets injection done and kennel cough up his nose ,we have the flea stuff to put on him and then he's done for another two weeks . Hubby was seen early so we were home pretty quickly today ,all was quiet when we got home ,we listened as we walked up the path.
Chicken to night for us in the honey and mustard sauce ,new pots ,carrots and leeks .
Oh yes you said you were meeting your friends today Liz glad you enjoyed your lunch. The crate that Max is in is partly under the breakfast bar ,backs on to a wall and one side is near the kitchen units so he is fairly closed in ,i think if i laid some thing on the top he would pull it through the bars !!
Not good when you have an unsettled night Jane , i thought the moon did look quite full when i let Max out last night ,maybe that was why he was howling :-0 :-0

David like Liz I also studied the Tudors at school and have read a lot of books about them since. I have mentioned this some time ago, my husband's direct line includes the Boleyn family right back to William Boleyn in 1099 who came from Norfolk. Margaret Boleyn b 1489 was his 14th great grandmother and Ann's paternal Aunt.
I think that is good idea Liz for Mandy to part cover Max's cage at night we also did that with our last two boxers with lightweight fleeces it was very handy to keep them cosy especially when we stayed in our static caravan in the Peak District as it could get chilly at night.
It's been another lovely day here very sunny and at the moment not too cold.
Ann I think David will be staying with us for a while yet, he is getting married early next year in Chile and doesn't plan to return to England after that. Sylvia his fiancé has a good job as a social worker and doesn't like flying. If he gets made redundant which is a possibility as his firm has just merged with another one and the head office is in America, he will move to there earlier. He isn't any trouble and we have plenty of room here.

Anne, your OH's lineage is really interesting, I'm impressed!!! Like you since school Ive read a lot about the Tudors, in fact I read a lot of history per sa! At the moment I'm reading a biography of Princess Charlotte, the daughter of George 1Vth, it's very interesting, and she was much loved and deeply mourned when she died at 21. I'm interested in how ordinary people lived during the Tudor period, and have been doing some research this winter. I think next week we're onto Katherine Howard having skipped through Jane Seymour!! We'll see!!!
