Yes Anne that's the theatre we're going to. We are being treated, so.it will be a lovely outing for us. Tomorrow or Thursday we are going to have a chat with our vet and arrange for Cas to be spayed! We want her to be ok when we go away bearing in mind Jasper!!! Must peel some spuds and cook a courgette for our sups, along with breaded fish, so fairly easy!!!

Hope you get your teeth fixed quick Frank. Can the plate just be stuck back at the Dentists or sent away?
i had to laugh at your earlier post when you said Ros's Glass arm fell off.I read it as Glass and not Glasses LOL
Sorry Anne,I knew you had said transfussion so I don't know why I put the Chemo :-S
My Brain is elsewhere sometimes.(Chris would say ALL the time). The wind is pretty stiff and really cold around the front of the house where it is open to the countryside.I have had to close the ensuite little window as it was so cold sitting on the loo .The front of the house faces North and when the wind blows and the window is open that toilet seat gets freezing !!!!!.I should use the main bathroom as it is always nice and warm in there.
Our doorbell rang at 7.30 this morning . 7.30 !!!!!.It was my next door neighbour to say that they thought someone might have tried to break in to one of their 'shed's'at the back of their house last night..Now it was good that she told us ,but I would have thought she might have noticed all the curtains still pulled .It was a bit early :-S.I had to hang out the upstairs window to speak to her as I was just in my nightie.Nothing was taken she said.Probably as there was nothing much of value. Chris checked our 'Barn' (Big SHED) and all was fine there.
I have just seen the best advert..A cat sitting on top of a dog and kneading away on the dogs face and head :-D :-D..It is some chocolate ad. Just made me smile :-D :-D
Does anyone watch Chopping Block in the afternoon?I am loving it ,especially with the weather not good enough to go outside .I can do a bit of ironing when that is on. I think I must have a Wicked Dirty Washing Witch who visits..I seem to have so much washing !!!!!.It is never ending.
I bought our Euros this morning ready for France. The exchange rate has dropped a fair bit since last year :-( :-(.We did really well when we went to Italy in September, not so well this time :-S

I've seen that advertisement too Jane, like you, it makes me smile!! Anyone watch Home Fires? I won' t comment, in case someone hasn't, except to.say that it was good!! I expect the euro has dropped because of the uncertainty of the referendum Jane. We aren't making any foreign plans this year till after we see the consultant in July. We may try and go down to Cornwall in the autumn, have to see.

Back from shopping and most of it is put away after having aCOT and a doughnut.
I am NOT lonely.....................................I like to be on my own it is just that I only go out to the shop up the road on a Saturday and shopping on a Tuesday and sometimes out with oh in the week but we hav'nt been out for a long while now. We are due a trip to the garden centre for some stuff for the ponds and I want to go to Bude for some compost. We just hav'nt been out to lunch much since I have had these teeth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When it is dull and wet and windy is when it can be like being in a prison with the grey stone walls. I can't see the road from where we are and we have all the trees over the back and down the side of the big house where I used to like to see the mist rising in the morning. That was our only view from the bungalow but its now gone because of the trees he planted.
No Jane I don't watch chopping block and hav'nt even heard of it, sorry. I have seen that add with the small cat nkneading the dogs head. The dog really seems to enjoy it. On eof my cats used to do that to my Alsatian and Tilly but on thier backs or necks.
Hope all goes well for the new knee Frank and July is'nt too long to wait.
Hope Cas's op goes off ok Liz. Poor llittle girl having all her bits taken away.

Sun is streaming though the Conservatory. I havw had to draw the curtain overwise you get blinded by the sun.
My teeth will go away with other dental works tomorrow morning. Should have them back Thursday.
Ros had to mention about the cost of repairs to the rear door lock to Carolyn, who admitted she had tried to open the door before Ros pressed the key fob.. and that she would pay for the repairs. Now she is saying there must have been something wrong with the lock. Ros has (against my wishes) agreed to split the cost. So I am £126.00 out of pocket. They have so much money, they wouldn't have missed it. But the old saying. "THE MORE YOU HAVE THE MORE YOU WANT" fits the bill.
Sorry if I missunderstood what you were saying Mel. <3 <3 <3
Jane, What the Bloo#y hell did your neighbour think you could do about the shed breakin at 7.30 AM Dance a gig or something,.some people !!!! Yes Jane if the Tele is on I watch Chopping Board, seeing some of these couples, you wonder if they have any commong sense at all. I can't believe theyhave never learnt basic cooking. I too sit and have a good laugh at them. ;-) ;-) ;-) Some Mothers do have them come to mind.
Roast lamb was a little overcooked tonight, but we cleared our plates. Everything is in the D.W. tonight, I have cleaned down the cooker and work service, so Ros could get on and do my tablets for the next month. You should see all thr empty boxes from the tablets.
There is a good cooking programme on BBC 2 at 8.00 pm if anyone is interested.

Sorry to have got the wrong end of the stick Mel, I didn't mean to upset you.
Jane I don't watch Chopping Block as it clashes with Escape to the Country, I have seen the advert with the cat and the dog, I think Amy would freak out if one of our cats did that to her as she is such a wimp where they are concerned.
Frank, like Jane I also misread your post about Ros's glass arm at first :-D :-D,

Well the sky is blue here now.I can hardly see a cloud. But I reckon it is going to be another cold night.
My BIL is very upset as someone has shot a Swan on his Nature Reserve :-( :-( I just can't understand the mentallity of anyone who does something like that.It was a female Swan. Some people are just mindless idiots :-S :-S

Oh no Jane, that's an awful thing for someone to have done. Trouble is that swans pair for life, so her mate will be distraught. Are they black swans? Churchill had these at Chartwell and they're very beautiful. What a ba....ed!

Thats just what I thought whenI read Jane's post that swans mate for life but perhaps they will pair up with some other swan that has had a mate die and it is early in the season. I hope so anyway. They are such majestic birds and to think they used to eat them in olden days.
No offence taken about being lonely!!!!!!!!!!! I have Di who calls in when she's not working and we go out every now and then. She is the same age as me just a cople of months younger my birthday being in Feb and hers is in June on midsummers day.
We've just had a hail shower with a bit of thunder. It lasted about a minuet.

Morning all
Sunny here but not very warm. We had hail and rain yesterday after a sunny start and it looks like we might get some more rain today, looking at all the dark clouds coming over.
Just a quicky as I have to go out and get Sandra's birthday cake for tomorrow. We're not taking her to the zoo with the weather being so horrible, it was her choice, she thought the animals might not be out if it was cold and wet. She's got a point so we're taking her shopping instead and then go to the zoo later in the year when the weather improves.
Mum went to the Liverpool hospital this morning, I think the doctors strike caused the delay. I'm not sure when she is coming home, she said she would ring me later if she can to let me know what's going on. My sister lives in Liverpool so her boyfriend will bring mum home either today or tomorrow. The doctor changed some of mum's meds and she said she's feeling much better since they changed them, so that's good. I just hope the stent is okay now and she doesn't need any further treatment, hopefully the angiogram will tell us more when she has it done later.
I'll catch up with the post later as I have to pick a parcel up for Sandra, there was a card pushed through the door yesterday and I think it's a birthday present off her sister. Then I'm off to mum's house to pick up a birthday card from there. I'll have to write if out for mum as she hadn't done it and she said to put some money in it for her, so that'll come in handy for Sandra when we take her shopping tomorrow. Must get the car tax today as well, before I forget.
It's just started raining and it's quite windy too.
I'll try and get back on here later if I can <3

Afternoon All,
I hope your mum is ok now and won't need more treatment Gill. I bet Sandra is getting excited about her birthday now! :-) Good idea to give the zoo a miss till it's warmer and she'll enjoy shopping just as much.
It's been sunny here this morning, but has turned cloudy now and looks like rain will be on it's way soon. We should be at the carvery they gave us lots of books of money off vouchers for now, but just as we got there OH had a migraine starting so we had to come home and he's lying down now till the visual disturbances go.
We had rain and hail here yesterday and it was really cold last night. I went to a talk about pollution, what makes it up, how it affects us and the city plan to tackle it. A Doctor from the university did the talk. They had done an aerial map of the city pollution, which was what he was talking about, but it was interesting to see that a more polluted area is outside the city near us and around the motorway junction!! The motorway itself behind us is less polluting than the main road in front of us due to the slower moving traffic on the main road. Yet this is where they are extending the retail park, have built 2 small housing estates, have built a park and ride and put cycle paths in the last 5 years!! None of that seems wise to me. Park and rides, as with other car parks are heavily polluting as there are vehicles running with cold engines. He said that although diesel particulates are harmful, diesel, unlike petrol, actually is beneficial in reducing global warming. He said inside your house can be more polluted than the outside and discussed the harmfulness of aerosols indoors.
Anne, I got sent a kit for the DNA test and all you do is spit into a tube and send it off!! That is a very interesting point you raise about chemotherapy and a quick google does suggest some kinds can alter the DNA in cells other than the cancer cells. I think it may depend on the type on the type of chemotherapy and it may be worth asking your doctor.

Afternoon all, I don't think the weather knows what to do at the moment. The sun was quite nice around 10.00 am. If fact I mowed the front lawn. I have the mower round the back ready to have ago out there later. BUT Ros did a bed change this morning, and the sheets are on the line. She did this last time I did the back lawn, and I got caught up with the cable around the props, and lost my RAG. So I am going to wait till the sheets are dry, provided it doesen't decide to rain in the meantime.
Gill, I am pleased that Mum is on the mend. and that she will be discharged from hospital soon. It's good that you have someone who can collect her.
Oh how I would love to get my hands on THESE MOORONS that go around shotting Birds of any kind, what are they going to do with them anyway. I expect these people are youths with nothing better to do. BRING BACK NATIONAL SERVICE and teach them the rules of life. They are the lowest form of life in my estimation. :-( :-( :-( Lets hope someone sees them with their guns and they are reported and prosecuted to the full length of the law. Remember they are Protected birds.
Ros took her glass's to an optician in Towcerter yesterday. The receptionest was very helpful and tried to find a screw that fitted. The Optician came out and said "call back in three hours and we might be able to repair them" Ros explained that she was not from the town, so he just thrushed them into her hands and said take them somewhere else then. Ignorent Bast##d. She has been to Spec Savers this morning and the were so and replaced the screw, with the comment If they break again bring them back.
She is now outside checking if the sheets are dry. The way she is turning them around, I would say they are not !!!!
Ros had another delivery of plants again this morning, so they will have to be potted up, and space found for them in the greenhouse. If she's lucky ;-) ;-) ;-
I have had no breakfast again today, so I am going to get myself some lunch.
See you all later.

Gill I am pleased your mum is feeling much better now they have changed her meds and done the stent.
Bet Sandra is so excited about her birthday and only one more sleep. <3 <3 <3
What a pest G getting a migraine just as you were going to eat out . Hope he feels better soon.
Must get oh some lunch now so see you all later on.

The talk you went to sounded very interesting Ann :-D I do envy you all these talks you go to, we have nothing like that around here. Sorry to hear your OH had a migraine and hope he is feeling better now.
So you need a knee replacement then Frank, it doesn't sound like you'll have to wait to long. I bet you can't wait, at least then you'll be able to do more without being in pain all the time?
I can imagine it does feel a bit like a prison looking at 12 foot walls around you Mel. Your card for Sandra has just arrived but it was opened. There was one pack of stickers in there, is that right or was there more? I've stuck the envelope back down and put the card away until tomorrow. Sandra got a letter off her friend which had also been opened so I might mention it to the post office next time I'm there, she was quite upset. Luckily she didn't see that your card was opened, so now I've stuck it down she'll be none the wiser ;-) She's looking forward to having her shopping trip tomorrow :-) I just hope it's not raining.
Sorry to hear about the swan Jane and how upset your BIL was, some people are so cruel. Have they found out who did it, hopefully someone saw it happen and reported it, the poor swans mate must be devastated, as like everyone has said they mate for life,. so miss each other when one dies. It's so sad.
It sounds like Max is starting to be a lot calmer now Mandy and is sleeping better. How is he getting on with chewing everything? Don't forget the puppy programme is on tomorrow on channel 5 at 9pm, I'm recording it incase we are still out with Sandra.
I've still not heard anything off mum yet, so it looks as if she might of had to wait before they do the angiogram.
Going to get something to eat now. It's very quiet on here today, hope everyone is alright?

I've just heard from mum she's had the angiogram and thankfully the stent is working properly, her bloods show that it's borderline on her heart, so she'll need to take it easy from now on......easier said than done with my mum, but hopefully she'll slow down a little which would be a start. She's hoping to come home in about 3 hours so long as she doesn't bleed out like she did last time, otherwise they'll have to start again and it'll be tomorrow when she comes home. So I'm just waiting for her to ring to let me know when she's home.
I feel like I've got flu, but think it might be hayfever, I've run a bath so hopefully I'll feel a bit better after that. It's probably a bit of stress too. Sandra is getting excited about her birthday tomorrow, bless her and is looking forward to going round the shops, she wants some new clothes and a pair of shoes. She got her trainers the other day as she had a hole in the sole of her old ones so they couldn't wait until tomorrow.
Sorry to hear Ros had a bad experience with her glasses, how rude was he? At least Specsavers were kinder. Hope you managed to cut your lawn Frank, OH cut ours earlier as the rain was only a small shower in the end then the sun came out. He's just taken some rubbish to the tip then he's going to clean the car. It's been quite a busy day for us today. We remembered to get the car tax, so that's one less thing to think about :-)

Afternoon All Gill I hope Mum gets her Angiogram done today and that it isn't put off because of the Drs strike again today.its good she is feeling better with the change in meds.
So Birthday Girl tomorrow. Is Sandra getting excited now? It definitely isn't the best weather for a trip to the Zoo is it.I am sure she will enjoy a bit of retail therapy instead :-D..How bad that the envelopes are being opened.I bet someone is thinking there might be money.Rotters :-S :-S
Yes the Swan was a White Swan and has been on the Reserve for a number of years. She had had many Sygnets in the past. The Police have been informed but I doubt they will get the b******.I just hope her Mate will be ok.
The Police knocked on the door just now to inform us of the attempted break in next door on Monday night. They had jemmied the door.
Chris will be back soon.He has been to the Cinema in Northampton.I didn't fancy the film.
How is OH now Ann?.Has the Migraine gone. What a pity you missed your lunch out.
I'm glad Ros managed to get her specs fixed.I always find Supersavers very good. That was sensible to stay clear of Ros when she was hanging out the washing. Have you managed to get the lawn done? We have had the full range of weather again here today.Sun,Snow and little showers. We had quite a little snow shower !!!..It has all gone to pot LOL.It doesn't actually feel as cold as I thought it would.I just had a cardigan on when I went out this morning.(everyone else looked well wrapped up !! )..I think I am just very warm blooded. It is all my fat that keeps me warm :-S
James is going to a Wedding tomorrow somewhere near Bicester /Daventry.Jess isn't able to get here for it so he will have to go on his own.He had forgotten to get a Wedding Card so that was my job this morning. He says he will just have time to get his hair cut in the morning and then get home for a shower and get his suit on and then off.I have heard that more people are getting married on a Thursday these days as it is so much cheaper than a Saturday. The only problem is many guests will have to take the day off work.I do think it makes a lot of sense though if it means that the couple don't have to fork out as much .
Chris is back and said the film was brilliant..It was The Man who knew Infinity. In the Theatre next door (The Derngate) was We'll Meet Again (sing a long) he said the whole place was full of Zimmers and Wheel chairs .Lots of people from Care homes with their Nurses. He was even offered a Jelly Baby while waiting in the Foyer by a dear little old Lady :-D :-D..He says he is suprised not have got home with bruised ankles lol from all the frames and wheel chairs LOL..I bet it would have been a wonderful afternoon for the elderly and especially those with Dementia as they would have remembered all the old songs :-D :-D

Oh I see you just posted before me there Gill That is great your Mum has had the Angogram and will be home later <3. I expect your are worn out with worrying about your Mum and OH's Mum too.It has been a trying week for you. Also this blasted Hayfever can make you feel pretty grim. I kept saying to Chris that a lot of the tiredness we are feeling may well be to do with the pollen. He always poo poos that idea but I know for sure that that can be the case. I mainly suffer with itchy ears/throat and eyes.
Hannah went to an early morning 'RAVE' this morning LOL.It is one of these Pop Up things in London .Started at 6.15.It is basically just a good fun way to get everyone up and running before the days work. She sent me a video clip and it looked great even if a bit exhausting !!

Well that was much better service at Specsavers Frank! Some of the customer service you get can be shocking and so rude and unhelpful. I hope your knee is holding up with doing your lawns.
Yes, OH lay down with the curtains drawn and took 2 pink Migraleve which usually does the trick and after half an hour his sight was ok but he felt washed out as he usually does with a migraine. We went out again for lunch and then when we got back he had a sleep and feels fine again now.
It makes you wonder doesn't it how some of these people that are cruel enough to kill a swan like that treat their family pets. I hope they catch whoever did it. We got married on a Thursday Jane and the hotel we used to have lunch at on Fridays gives discounts for Friday weddings so maybe a lot of places do the same now. Also it's less hectic than a weekend.
Hopefully your mum will soon be home now Gill. She will have to remember not to do too much though won't she. I'm not surprised you aren't feeling great, you've had a stressful time lately. That is awful Sandra's cards being opened and I think Jane is right about people thinking there may be money inside. I never even got the christmas card my sister made for me and suspect it got opened too. She said it had little lights that lit up so would have felt quite thick.
Well I'm popping out to fill my car up in a mo. I'm off to another Focus Group meeting at the Hospital in the morning. It starts at 9.00am so I'll be travelling in the rush hour and think I will need to set off at 7.30am! Normally it takes less than 45minutes without all the traffic. Also, on the main road round the corner they've coned off a lane which will cause chaos. It looks like they may be putting traffic lights to the entrance road to the houses they built in the field at the end of this close. We said at the time they'd have trouble driving off the estate onto the main road as the cars take off like Brands Hatch from the island!
