Your early morning routine is just like ours Mandy, even down to the cuppa in bed!! Cas is well into it which makes life really easy! Only difference is that we feed her after her after breakfast walk now she's down to two meals a day. OH has just said breakfast is on the table, so better go, the coffee smells delicious!

I'm not a football fan, but I can understand the excitement felt by Leicester City. After such a long time, 132 years! Well done, well done indeed!! :-D

Morning all and evening Kim,
We too have a lovely bright morning with plenty of the yellow stuff up there in the sky.
I am so pleased the little bat was'nt there Liz which meant he had flown away safely after being rescued.
While you lot were busy this morning walking dogs and feeding them I was still fast asleep. Did'nt get up till after ten.
Can't stand tea in bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have to get up and have it.

Each to his own Mel! We both love our cuppa in bed and have done it for donkeys years, first at w/ends when we were at work, and every day since retirement, except if we wake up too late! then we just get up and get on! Clouding up a bit here now, but much warmer today so I think gardening is on the agenda!

Morning All,
We had no internet from yesterday until just now!
It was sunshine then heavy showers yesterday with huge puddles at the sides of the road but now it's wall to wall sunshine and the first load of washing is blowing in the breeze. OH woke this morning with a streaming, stinker of a cold. I'm keeping well away and have wiped all the door handles........I really don't want to catch it just as we are going away! He made me laugh Mandy........he says he needs putting in a crate like Max to keep him out of my way!! lol :-) What a good boy Max is, he knows what's expected now doesn't he. A neighbour seems to think the contractors doing the building work on the new places have stopped! We have noticed all along the deliveries of materials have been very small quantities and thought it must cost a lot in delivery charges to do it that way. They have the scaffolding up and have just done a few rows of bricks on 2 of the places, but the garage to 1 has the roof timbers on now. We'll have to see what happens this coming week, unless they are on holiday. . I must crack on to get some things planted up in the greenhouse and the wall pots. My spare wheel is still in the garage at the moment as OH didn't look like he would fancy lifting it into my boot.......maybe tomorrow. He has fetched the cases out of the loft so I've started packing things like underwear and toiletries. I've also packed 3 beading projects in my bag. I'm taking some paints too in case the weather is bad! :-) I got some new paints at the Works the other day with one of my vouchers from the hospital. :-) They won't be best quality ones but neither is my painting yet!! lol. Mel, OH has only ever followed Non League Football, so he doesn't follow Leicester......well he does watch it on the telly at times like now! Fancy them winning! OH has told me to keep out of the city the next few days as there will be celebrations going on! That's a good idea to use the voucher for your cupboards Gill. They will be handy if you can wheel them about and for cleaning under too. It's good your mum and MIL seem to be doing well now. As you say, your mum will have to slow down a bit. Frank, the gardener we had for FIL just did as much or as little as we asked, mainly just mowing the lawn so I would think you could have just that done too if you asked. I had to chuckle at Anne calling you Frank Spencer! lol. You'll have to be more careful after your knee is done.......you won't want to undo the good work in replacing it I gave up on Home Fires but have been watching Undercover. I meant to record Lucy Worsley last night......ballet with horses according to OH but I forgot so will have to look on the iplayer.

Daughter just rang to tell us that a school friend of hers died of a brain tumour yesterday. I really feel upset and downhearted at this news as I remember this friend as such a bright pretty clever little girl, and it's such a horrible thing to have happened to her. Life can be such a b###h! Were still up there with Home Fires! One thing though, Maize wasn't grown in the UK in 1940!! It was first introduced here in the late 1950's/early 60's!! BIG boo, boo ITV!!!

Afternoon all
Lovely and sunny here today, unlike yesterday when we had lots of rain and wind. One of my big pot plants got so wet with all the rain we've had to move it into the greenhouse to give it a break and let it dry out a bit.
It sounds like Max is getting used to his crate now Mandy and sleeping well at night too, that's good.
Sorry to hear your OH has a cold Ann, hope he feels better in time for you going away.
So we have a Frank Spencer now then Frank LOL, you really should take it easy, all these accidents can't be doing you any good. I would send the forms off and except some help, even if it's only to cut the lawns. Like you said Ros loves her garden so she can still do her things, so everyone would be happy and it would save your knee until you get your new one. Although you'll still need to take it easy for a while, you don't want to end up damaging the new knee.
How lovely to help the bat Liz, is it okay now? Sorry to hear about your daughter's friend. How old was she?
I've just watered the strawberries and toms in the greenhouse. OH potted up the tom plants and put them in the greenhouse yesterday as they were starting to take over the kitchen window sill.
I was so busy yesterday I didn't get a chance to come on here. First I sorted out some of the boxes into separate piles, one of photo's, one of my material etc.... so now I can make a start of trying to find somewhere for things to go. OH couldn't get two cupboards yesterday as they only had one in stock so unfortunately we missed out on the voucher offer as it ends today and they're not getting another delivery of the cupboards until Friday, so that has put paid to my plans of using the voucher off the earrings I was hoping to buy. I then checked my messages and emails to find a couple with lots of information for my family tree. I started putting it on my tree and lost track of time, before I knew it, it was almost 4am in the morning, so I didn't get to bed until nearly 5am. Needless to say I've not long woken up.
Going to get a cuppa and sit outside for a bit, it's lovely and sunny out there. I might even see if the little birds are still building their nest in our hedge. OH and I were watching them yesterday. I think there are two sets of birds, not sure what they're called, but it was lovely to watch them <3

Gill, it makes me feel tired just thinking about your nocturnal activities!! I don't know how you stay on your feet after going to bed at that hour. Anything after 11 o'clock and I'm well and truly done for!!!

Afternoon all,
Thought I had better pop in, even though I don't feel like it. Had another bad night last night.
The green bin and blue bin were emptied today. The Green Bin had so much grass stuck to the sides and bottom, I had to get the hose out and clean it. I mansaged to get it into the road and pour the water down the drain. It's now upside down drying out.
Oh Liz, that was no age for your daughters friend to die. What a shock for the family. Bad enought for the two in their twenties, but the 12 year old will take even longer to get over it.
Gill you know the saying about "BURNING THE CANDLES AT BOTH ENDS" Well you will have to STOP doing it, or you will be making yourself Ill. What does your OH have to say about it ???
Ann, When do you go away ?? You don't want to catch that cold before you go. Dose him up with all you can, if it doesn't clear it it might hold it back a bit. Try wearing a mask when driving to your holiday destination ;-) ;-) ;-) Don't get stopped by the police, they will think you are a "ROBBER"
So you have changed your mind about our MAX. Last week you were asking if anybody wanted him. Now he is in your good books. !!!! You must make up your mind Mandy, or you will give him a complex :-D :-D :-D
The blackbird's nest in the front hedge is an old one, as we haven't seen them for a week or so, I had a nose in this morning. It's full of dead leaves, so they must have nested last year and we didn't know it <3 <3
Great new, Tony has cut his front lawn, (Where the mower touches) the rest is long enough to graze sheep on. !!!!
Like you Jane I am home alone. Ros is off sewing the church pew seats.
This blooming cursor keeps jumping back into a previous sentance. I then have to back space to clear it. Ican see I will be looking to get a new one. But this isn't a year old yet. !!!
Lamb on a bed of onions, with potatoes in gravy, baked for a couple of hours until the spuds are nice and brown on top. Carrots peas and cabbage to go with it.

I'm the same as you Gill when I get some info on my tree. The time just passes and you don't feel tired or notice the time. I'm quite often awake till at least 2.00am and sometimes 4.00am as well. I feel tired but sleep just doesn't come. :-S You'd think you'd be tired and sleep easily the following night but that doesn't always happen either. I wondered if some of your sewing stuff would go in the cupboard.
What a shame for that young woman to die at only age 48 and particularly difficult for the youngest boy to lose his mother.
I decided to sort out the TomTom to take with us on holiday. Well the instructions are little more than useless. The battery is charging I hope, but how do you tell when there is no light to show whether it is charging or not? I suppose you just leave it for a few hours and see if it works?? There is a slot on the underside that isn't mentioned anywhere, but it looks like a slot for a card like my phone has??
OH is dosed up with paracetamol and has gone to a meeting, which should be a short one. I can see him sitting at one end of the table and everyone else at the other!!

Yes Ann, that happened to me last night, I had no idea how late it was until I looked up and the clock said almost 4am. I must admit once I realised the time I suddenly started to feel tired. Luckily I'd just about finished so wasn't too much longer and ended up in bed around 5am. I woke again about 10am, but was so comfy and warm I drifted off to sleep again for another hour or so. I'm now taking another look at my tree to see if I can find more people to add to the ones I was told about and added last night.
I never got the cupboards in the end Ann, as they only had one in stock and I want two, so we're going back on Friday when they get a new delivery. I'd rather have the two from the same batch so the colour matches. Unfortunately the offer on the vouchers ends today so I won't get a voucher on Friday. I'm hoping to put my material in the ottoman I bought the other week, well some of it anyway, as I have to much for it all to go in. Then when I get the cupboards I'm hoping to put all my books, DVD's, and photo's in there. Not sure where everything else is going to go, but I do have a bit of space under a couple of beds I might use.
I hope you manage to sort out your Tom Tom ready for your trip away. Where are you going, sorry I can't remember if you told us? Hope the paracetamol works for your OH and he's fit enough to go on your hols.
48 is no age at all, is it Liz? Her poor children, especially the younger one. 12 is so young to lose a parent.
So the blackbirds aren't nesting in your hedge this year Frank, maybe they have moved to another part of your garden this year and you just haven't noticed yet.
I've always burnt the candle at both ends Frank so OH is used to it now and just leaves me to get on with it. I'm the type of person that can't sleep if I know a job isn't finished, silly I know, but I've always been the same. I think I'd of been quicker if I hadn't of had to reply to the messages I'd got. I wanted to say thank you for all the information. It wouldn't of been right to leave that till today, there was so much info that it would of taken me ages to find it all on my own. Even trying to find the records with the info I had was difficult on a few of them, so I doubt I'd of found them myself.
That's the problem with this part of my family as it's such a common name....Allen. There are so many of them down south, it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack sometimes, so I'm really grateful of any help that is offered.

Oh Liz that is terribly sad about your Daughters friend :-( Was it expected? We know someone whose daughter died just 3 weeks after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. She too had young children. It must be terrible for the family.
Yes Ann,when are you off? I thought we were away together. But maybe you come home when we go.I hope you manage to stay clear of catching OH's cold. That is something to don't need to start your holiday.I can't help you on the Tom Tom thing.I know nothing about these things.Make sure you have a good map with you just in case the Tom Tom doesn't do the trick.
Not another bad night Frank.I thought you were getting better nights lately.Or was it just one night?. You have reminded me that our black bin needs to go out tonight.
Gill,I bet you will be having an early night tonight after being up for so long last night !! I just couldn't do it.That is a pity you missed on the voucher. Will you get the second cupboard on friday?
Max is sorted now then Mandy at night :-D.Thats great. How is his eye?I hope is has settled down now.
After lots of lovely sun today it has now clouded over and feels quite cool. They reckon 23degs on Saturday but possible thunder.I hope it isn't muggy.Thursday looks good. That is when Chris ,me and Fitz are going for lunch in Grafton Underwood. It is called Sage and Brooke, and is owned by an old girlfriend of Fitz's youngest son.I think he went out with her when they were 15.I wonder if she might remember me. Before we go Fitz is going to take us up the road so we can see little Ottilie :-D :-D I can't wait. She is 2 and a half weeks old now.
Chris has only gone an ordered a foldable blooming walking stick for me to take on holiday :-S :-S :-S....I know it is probably a sensible idea because I am still getting days when it is painful walking(BUT I DON"T WANT ONE )If I have to use it it will probably be like a lethal weapon in my hands :-S.We are thinking of doing a half day river cruise with lunch on the Rhone. So that would be quite nice and easy on the legs :-D.I love any boat trips.Chris always rolls his eyes when I ask if there any boat trips and says "You and your B****** boat trips :-D :-D..I love the open top buses too .But they don't have one in Avignon. It isn't a huge city. But when we get to Paris I might suggest we do another one there like we did last time.I am happy to do one on my own if he doesn't fancy it again.
I just see my battery is almost flat on the laptop so need to find the lead and get it plugged in.

I'm not sure Jane, as friend moved away from Wantage after her second marriage and L lost touch with her. She heard through a mutual friend on Sunday, so Iexpect we shall find out more in a day or two. I first met this particular friends mother when we first moved to Wantage in 1971 and the little girls went to playgroup aged 3!!! Her parents are both dead, but she has a brother who was pally with M at Grammar School, so we knew them quite well. Tis a bummer! I love a river trip too Jane, we lived by the river when I was a child and always had boat which I loved. I think you'll look a bit 'County' with your stick! It may we be useful.though!!

Ann i can just see OH in the crate :-D he woukd fit in if he was on his knees :-D Did you see Lidls have the Geraniums for 75p again this year ? I bought some this morning ,they were good plants last year and flowered well. Hope you keep well clear of OH's cold you don't want to take that on holiday with you how long is it before you go?
Jane at least with the fold up stick it will fit in your bag , you will have to accidentally leave it some where :-D
Gill you will need an early night tonight after last night , i don't know how you manage to stay awake looking at the screen all that time it would send me to sleep. Hope you manage to get the cupboards you want later in the week.
Hope you manage to sleep better tonight Frank , have a few beers that usually helps you have a good nights sleep.

Been out done the shoppiing and its all away now and its taken me ages to read all your posts and I wish you would'nt make them so long.
Sorry to hear about your daughters friend Liz. Such a young age to have something like that and with a child of 12 too. It was bad enough when I lost my dad at 30 and I still miss him so much.
Sorry you did'nt get your chests of drawers Gill. You should have asked about the voucher as they only had one. It was'nt your fault after all. They should have made sure they had enough.
Poor Gordon starting a cold near your holiday. Yes when do you go away and is it to Cornwall again? I thought of you when I saw the Minack (sp) theatre on the telly the other day.
I had two hogs in the garden at the bowl last night haveing a good push and shove with each other.
Oh is just starting dinner so I better go and help.

So can I Mandy.........it would keep him from getting under my feet wouldn't it. ;-) lol. I'm glad you mentioned the geraniums as I was trying to remember if it was Aldi or Lidl that had them. I'll get some when we get back next week as they were a beautiful pink and flowered so well all summer last year.
Not another bad night Frank, I do sympathise with you though, being another that has bad nights. We are going away this Friday so we can see Chicago on Friday night. It's bad planning for me really as I shall miss 2 beading classes instead of 1, but OH is happy as he won't miss as much footie. I like the sound of your lamb dinner. :-)
Fancy Chris ordering you a walking stick Jane..........the first thing I'd do is whack him with it!!! Whatever will he suggest next......painting it WHITE!!!! It will be nice to see the new baby and then a nice lunch after is always good. I love river cruises too and I canoed from Lyons to Avignon when I was aged 15. The views of the vineyards each side of the river were lovely.
That's a good thought Gill about the cupboards matching.
When I went out earlier there were Leicester City blue shirts all tied to the motorway bridge railings and lots of cars with 'City' scarves all flapping out of the windows.
OH seems to be improving now thank goodness and has stopped sneezing. He's having an early night tonight.
