Morning my little flowers, Evening Kim.
Wall to wall sunshine and blue sky's. I have declared "SUMMER" I am in my shorts!!!
I have been down and filled the feeders, the wren and blue tit, are on the coconut shells that I have filled. The big tray is filled also, so once the starlings find that it will be empty in no time !!!! Greedy little blighters :-| :-|
Ros is off to "Stitchery Do" at about 10.00 until 3.30/4.00 pm. So I will be a "Billy no mates" all day. I will see what trouble I can get into while she's out ;-) ;-) ;-) There's the rotavating to do, and the lawns need another cut, and the outside windows need cleaning "WHO AM I KIDDING" I will try to sit on thr patio with my book and gert a bit of sunshine.
I certainly don't complain about living where I do. After all those years living in the London suburbs. To move here was like another Country. Open spaces and fields of crops. Wonderfull. We only need to walk to the top of the high street and it's open Country. I know we are a fair distance from thre coast. but what an interesting drive it is throught the Country roads. We always try to stay off the main roads, Not that we go to the coast very often. I wouldn't give this up, other to go to Devon, if we needed to be looked after in our older years. Which I hope will be a long way off. ;-) ;-) ;-)
What are you all up to today.?? keeping out of trouble I hope BE GOOD !!!!

Morning all,
A beautiful day here too Frank. I slept like a log last night after my busy day so oh had to wake me up this morning.
I would'nt want to live anywhere different than here. We are central to coasts and shopping towns but are right out in the sticks. I see an inlet to the sea every time I go shopping to Bideford. The river there is tidal so it is always interesting to see if its in or out. Its usually out!! but as I came home on Tuesday it was nearly right in and looked lovely with the sunshine making the waters blue.
Only one more sleep now Ann and you will be off wending your way towards me and then going past!!

Choirs started, I have manages to trim the font lawn edges and mow it. I have watered the front garden and ALL her pots and tubs and the PATIO table which is still full of flowers. The mower is now on the back lawn, ready for me to start when I have had a break.
I have just had a copy of the Surgeon's letter to my GP. He states quite clearly that he has no option but to replace my left knee, and says he thinks I have done well over the passed THIRTEEN YEARS not to have had it done before. He sees no ploblem in getting funding for the operation. So now it's the waiting game. <3 <3 <3
I hope to get a couple of photo's of the cherry tree. and the flower beds. If they are O.K. I will send them on,
Has anyone seen the fire in Canada. It looks like it could destroy the whole town. Now two other towns have been told to leave the area.

Frank, I thought for a moment Ros has brought her singers in to entertain you!!! then I realised it was your chores you were referring to :-D!!! Not many of those being done here today, it's just too lovely a day, so apart from Waitrose first thing we're not doing too much!! Yes that fire is terrifying, I do feel for those poor people, losing everything like that, just heartbreaking!

It is also a beautiful day here, Amy had a lovely walk but even at 9o/c this morning she was panting on the way back.
I too saw on the BBC news those terrible fires in Canada, how must those poor people feel having to leave their homes maybe for the last time. Peter has a cousin who lives in Ontario so he should be safe.
Frank you have been busy in your garden please go careful this time otherwise Ros will be slapping your wrist
I haven't done much today apart from the walk and putting the Sainsbury shopping away and pottering in the garden.
David has taken a day off sick with a cold [man flu] you would think he was dying. He is still in bed, I think with this lovely weather he would be better off sitting out in the garden.
Mandy is coming later to cut our hair, her mum has just died and the funeral was yesterday, her dad only passed away just before Christmas.I don't know if she will take on the little dog and 2 cats but apart from that there will be the bungalow to sell, she has a brother so it won't be all down to her and her husband.
I'm just gong to get a coffee and watch Escape to the Country, I hope it's not one I have seen before
Ann, I hope you have a lovely Cornish holiday and come back feeling refreshed, I hope the lovely weather continues for you.

Well I am finished for the day. I have managed to get my "CHORES" for today. I managed to get the back lawn cut with breaks, every know and again. I will do the trimming of the edges tomorrow. It was nice to be out there without a top on and feel the warm sun on my back.
Tony still hasn't cut his lawn this year, at thre back. Would you believe he put a chair out on the lawn this afternoon and read thr paper. LAZY SOD. I just couldn't leave it when I know it needs doing. Perhaps this is why he is in better health than me. !!
Ros isn't back yet, as I know she was going on to get the nails done (again) Her nails grow so quickly, they need doing regulary.
Are you all packed and ready to go Ann, have a safe journey. Which way do you go ??. Being situated where you are I would imagine you would make for the M 5 and onto the M 4, then the A 30. Where are you ending up ??
I bet our Jane, is dozing in the garden after her lunch. Don't get SUN BURNT, young lady. Where did you go ???
Anne, thats what retirement is all about, doing what you want when you want. I just wish I had more get up and go, there is so much more I could do, if I felt like it. You are in the nice part of the Country aren't you ?? How far are you from ???????? Waters. It has just gone from my head. I use to go through there when I went sea fishing on the south coast. Oh happy memories. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Don't forget Master chef is on this evening for those of you that watch it. !!!

Frank, you are right saying we aren't too far from Virginia Water, when we were younger we would go there often and walk all the way round the lake, do you remember the totem poll? We also used to visit the Saville gardens and the air force memorial, all close by. Having been brought up in Hastings since I was 7 years old until we moved here in 1965. I much prefer the countryside now. The Peak District and the Scottish Highlands being my favourite places. You have been busy today and now deserve to put your feet up.
I'm looking forward to watching Master Chef this evening and can't guess at the moment who will be the winner.

We always watch Master Chef Frank. Oh likes it. He says sometimes he he just eaat that. I reply that would'nt fill you up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have had a good dust through today and lost the duster out the bedroom window then forgot to pick it up when I fed the chickens. It's still there.
I have cleaned inside and outside of the back door and wiped all the door down and a few marks off the walls and wiped the skirtings. Cleaned the inside of the diner window but could'mnt face the ones over the sink in the kitchen area as I have to have the steps for those and the hips playing up what with shopping Tuesday and charging around with the hoover yesterday. Both play havoc with my left hip.
I have washed out a lot of my big and small pots and some cell trays I use to plant my green beans in. Now I am going out to potter in the shed and may even go up and do the edgeing on the border as oh has mowed the lawn.
The tree he cut down is now green instead of yellow. I hope it puts on some growth this year and yellow at that as its what I use in my wreaths. He has also trimmed the bottom growth off the cotonieaster on the wall so it does'nt go up the mower. Managed to cut himself twice but I don't know where but saw the blood on his clean shirt.

Well done Frank, glad you got finished!! I really wouldn't bother too much with what your neighbours are doing in their garden, or not, so long as your own property is to your satisfaction that's all that matters! No Master Chef for us! The sight of all that food makes us feel a bit yuk! also everyone taking it so seriously and getting so emotional isn't our thing at all! Peaky Blinders is back tonight! Mind you that's a bit violent for me, but OH loves it, so it maybe headphones for us both, him for the TV and me for kindle catchup! Time for a nice glass of Rose! (sorry, can't do the accent on line!!)

Evening All Just nipping in now to wish you Ann a lovely holiday. You are lucky to be going while we are having this beautiful weather .Fingers crossed it continues for you.Hafe a safe journey and a great week.
This morning we went to see little Ottilie..Oh she is so small !!!!.Still just 4lb 12oz.She is so cute. Then it was over to Grafton Underwood for lunch with Fitz.We sat outside and had some Prosecco and our starters .It was so hot that we decided to go in for the rest of the meal.It was all really nice.It is a Bistro type of Restaurant. They do afternnon tea and morning coffee as well as evening meals. On the way we went and voted for the new Police Commissioner .
The smell of the rapeseed is so strong now it is making me feel a bit ill.It is so pungent. It will no doube be bad for the next few days while we have this hot weather.
Everything is so dry in the garden and things are wilting so we are going out now to give everything a good soaking.
Peaky Blinders for me too tonight :-D :-D

We didn't bother with the Police Commissioner Jane which is unusual for use but we'd never heard of our candidates and there wasn't any communication from any of them, not even a flyer, so neither of us was prepared to vote for some we hadn't even heard of, never mind what their policies are! Perhaps your candidates bothered with their electorate more than ours did!!!

Evening All,
Thanks for your good wishes for our break! I went and voted after I had my hair cut this afternoon. There was no-one else there!! Mind you, last time it was a very poor turnout. My hairdresser who is the salon manageress has just bought her second Porsche!! It has 7 forward gears, and all sorts of gadgets. No wonder my haircuts are expensive. :-S
Yes, Frank, that's the route OH takes and we end up at Carnmenellis near Redruth. He's fretting about starting early tomorrow and then suggested he goes to a match over 30 miles away tonight!! I hadn't the heart to protest as he's worked hard helping get things ready all day and helping clean the bungalow all through, but he'd better be quiet when he comes in later or he won't be getting an early start!! ;-) I hope they give you priority in getting your knee done now they've seen what you have been putting up with all this time Frank. I hope you haven't overdone it today either.
I've been planting french beans, sweet peas, watering stuff and putting plants in trays of water. and am done in now, but still need to finish my packing. OH does his own in about half an hour before we set off! I've done a couple of bacon cobs each for on the way down tomorrow. The service stations are so expensive. I think 2 bacon cobs and a drink each cost about £15 last year. :-0
I bet it was lovely to see the baby Jane. Was the Restaurant owner like you remember her? It sounds like a nice place to eat.
Mel, I can't imagine you living anywhere else either as it seems to suit you so well where you are with all the wild life and lovely garden. So I'm not the only one who throws dusters out of the window then. :-)
I like the Peak District too Anne and I'm still toying with going to Scotland later this year. I want to ride on the Highland Railway........it's Michael Portillo's fault!
Are the fences all done now Mandy? Ours could do with painting this year, at least where they are in the sun all day. Is Max liking the garden? I won't ask if he's being good as I think I know the answer. lol.

Did you have a lovely cuddle Jane ? she sounds so tiny bless her . It must have been hot if you had to go inside to finish your meal ,didn't they have garden brollys to give you some shade ?
Ann i hope you both have a really relaxing holiday ,you both deserve a good rest after all the upset over the last year ,i'm sure you must both be looking foward to it , so have a good time ,will be thinking of you eating F&C while watching the boats come in . Yes all the painting is finished ,but the new panels are still here waiting for son to put them up he has been busy so we just have to wait . Max loves the garden ,you should see him sit there with his nose in tha air having a good sniff ,he goes out and lays in the sun too, its nice to know he feels at home here .

Thank you Mandy, it will be nice to enjoy seaside F&C like you. lol :-) Young Max sounds like Lord of the Manor with his nose in the air having a sniff. He sounds as if he really feels at home with you now.
I've not had much luck today. My spare wheel won't go quite low enough in the well for the floor to sit flat over it so that's something to sort when we get back. The printer has decided not to print anymore, but I can't see why not just yet and now I have a touch of the trots which is not what I want with travelling tomorrow. OH said some of the people at the match said traffic was horrendous coming from where we'll be going tomorrow. Also the Monday after we get back OH has the results of his bone scan at a hospital in the city and they are holding the Football celebrations the same day so it will be chaos in the city I expect.
Well, I'm packing my laptop to take now so will say goodnight and I hope you have a lovely holiday Jane.

Have a good journey Ann and G and enjoy your well earned rest.
Washed a lot of pots and cells today ready for a big sow up. I shall have to grow lots of veg in pots this year as the wild life will eat it if I put it anywhnere in the garden.
The deer ate all my tulips in the big tubs outside the front of the bungalow and I only have one left to flower.
Frank I can't open your photos either so can you please try again as I love to see the cherry tree in full flower.
Signing out now and going in the shower as I feel all sticky after the hot day we have had.
Night night see you all in the morning.

Not up to anything special today just see how the day goes.
I must go down the docs for a script I ordered two weeks ago!! as I have now run out.
Ann and Gordon should be well on their way by now. I thought of them when I woke early for a trip to the bathroom. That must have been about 4am and I thought they will be getting up in a couple of hours to be on their way.

Morning All
It is a big cloud to here too Mel but I think it will clear.I am going to get out now and get some fresh veg as I have had to chuck out what I had in the fridge :-S :-S.Some not even out of date !!!..Thats pretty bad. I have rung the optician this morning as I am getting some floaty swirly things in my eyes. Not the floaters that look like fire flies, but this is more like bits of whispy smoke. I have the next appointment tomorrow morning.I hope it is nothing to worry about but thought I had best get checked before going away.
Liz,I was called away from watching Peaky Blinders by Chris....Thomas had sicked up a mouse or 2 on the lounge carpet :-S :-S.....He wouldn't touch it(wus !! ).So I missed about 20 minutes of the programme.I will try and stick with it .It is incredibly violent though isnt it...I quite fancy Thomas Shelby. He has the most beautiful eyes :-D :-D
I better get the washing hung out first before I go out.I heard the washing machine 'sing' just now so it is ready.
