Oh fancy a six year old being able to drive a mower round the garden :-D

Good that you went and had your eyes tested Jane and that the floaters are nothing to worry about , not so good that you have Cataracts in both eyes though .

Not sure if i will go dog training ,i have Max sitting already so i might just keep trying to train him myself ,we're looking forward to next week when we can start walking him .
I hadn't thought of giving him pasta ,Toby use to love pasta .

Anne those dash board cameras are a good idea to have , at least if any thing happens you have the proof for the insurance company .
Hope they all enjoy their Butlins break .

I think it was on the 3rd when we last heard from Gill .

Anyone heard from Fiona lately ?

Are you in the dog house with Ros Frank ? :-0 :-D

Evening All,

We reached Truro in 5 hours and stopped there for a jacket potato before doing the last half hour to the lodge. They are making more stretches of the A30 dual carriageway so that will be good for future trips. OH decided to miss some roadworks by going via Coventry which helped.

When we got to the lodge we thought we had plenty of time to rest before going to the show........WRONG!! OH thought it started at 8.00pm, but when he was sorting the tickets out at 4.20pm, not long after we arrived, he noticed it was 5.00pm when it started!! It's not like him to get things like that wrong!!! We were thinking rush hour traffic then and I said I'd change quickly but OH said 'there's no time' , so I just threw a different top on and off we flew. We managed to park the car and took a short cut through M&S, but had to ask where the exit was. OH's mobile had slipped through a hole in the lining of his jacket and while trying to pull it back into his pocket he managed to empty all his loose change out onto the shop floor and it rolled everywhere. Shoppers were picking it up and bringing it back to him. Anyway we just got there as the show was starting. It was a brilliant show and Sam Bailey the Xfactor winner was in it and I also recognised Hayley Tamaddon from Dancing on Ice. The worst bit was the seats we got this time, comfy enough but with the worst legroom I've ever known as, even I with short legs, couldn't sit with my knees forward!

It's been quite overcast here today with a bit of rain this evening and not as warm as the midlands. I don't mind that though! We decided to give the Helston Floral Day celebrations a miss as it wasn't quite what we thought it was when we looked it up and we were both achey. We decided to go for our F&C instead and went to the Fish Restaurant we have been to before that is a sort of French style with the staff dressed in Breton stripes. They were very nice and were with crushed minted peas. We both felt tired today, even though we slept like logs, so just had a little drive round, got some shopping in and have relaxed at the lodge since. The owner came to see us when we arrived and has plans to extend and gradually build some more lodges as there are several acres so plenty of room. He was telling us his son, now 5 years old can swim and is already able to stand up on a surf board and surf like his dad. He even has his own little wet suit!

Well, I see no sooner is my back turned and Frank is in trouble!! It's a wonder you didn't hurt yourself and I bet Ros wasn't pleased! The perspex idea of Mel's is a good one and I have two perspex panes in my greenhouse so I could cut the corners to bring the water butt hosepipes inside. It must have seemed Lewis was very grown up driving to see you and with a bunch of flowers for Ros too,

Poor little Max having a poorly tummy, no wonder he was whimpering. That's a lovely photo of him Mandy and he looks like he is growing fast!

That wasn't what you wanted to hear....2 cataracts Jane, but at least you can go on your hols knowing the whispy bits aren't anything to worry about.

Well it looks like sea mist is rolling in outside and OH is wallowing in bubbles in the bath whilst listening to footie on the radio so I shall get a COT I think.

Oh Ann i thought of you at lunch time wondering if you were having F&C's today :-D

How lucky OH happened to looked at the tickets it would have been a shame if you had missed the show .

I had an email from Shirl because i sent the photo of Max ,she said the fires are 2 thousand miles from her ,she said to say Hi to everyone ,she doesn't think she will renew her subs in July as she says she had paid for the last six months and hasn't been able to post ,which is such a shame .

Lovely evening here now i have just been out in the garden with Max getting the last of the sun.

That was lucky G looked at the tickets when he did Ann and not left it till you had had a COT and a rest.

Been up the border today pulling weeds but the ground is so hard I can't dig it. I need to take a lot of things out as there is so much twitch and weed growing through the plants.

Its going to be nice to be able to take Max out to meet other people and dogs. I bet your looking forward to it Mandy.

Morning All

Looks like it is going to be a really hot one today. So I will definitely not be doing a roast.

Ann,that was so lucky OH looked at the tickets when he did.It would have been awful if you had missed the show and not a good start to the holiday .
Sam Bailey has an amazing voice so I can imagine she was really good.
I expect you will be out and about today after taking it a bit easy yesterday.

Mandy Max looks so sweet sat on the eat there wih your old socks :-D.He is a handsome boy :-D.How is him tum this morning?

I can understand Shirl not renewing her subs. What itthe point when she can never get on to GR !!!.At least we can still keep in touch by email.

I wonder if we might here from Gill today.I just hope that her absence is maybe computer trouble and not that something has happened with her Mum.

Just having breakfast now and I don't want to get toast crumbs in the pooter so will BBL

Good Day everyone

The sun is shining and its all ready getting hotter, my sister in law rang earlier and was surprised to hear I had already been out in the garden as it was raining hard where she lives in Leominster, we do have rain forecasted for tomorrow,

I have to cook a roast today as I have already defrosted a joint of pork, fortunately the kitchen stays reasonably cool.

I'm just going upstairs to look at my emails, for some reason I can't pick them up on this laptop. Just come back down, Mandy that is a beautiful photo of Max, I can see he will be a very handsome chap when he is older, he looks as though butter wouldn't melt in his mouth :-D :-D <3.

Frank I haven't been able to open your photos either, Did Ross slap your wrists over the accident with the rotovator?

Jane, Paul's camera for the car records his journey from all angles and can be played back if necessary, I think it must be located on the dashboard but I am hopeless when it comes to anything technical.

Morning all and evening Kim,

A lovely day here so I expect it is the same for Ann and Gordon. We had a little, a very little light fine rain last night late.

I slept well after my gardening yesterday afternoon and not many aches and pains this morning.

Big breakfast day for us so no long cooking for me and again cheese and biccies tonight which is nice and easy.

The last of the Durrells tonight.

Little Max has lost his puppy face now and is looking like the proper Labrador he is. I bet he still has his puppy smell though. Dear chap laying there with your old socks Mandy. Has he chewed anything he should'nt yet?

Am off to feed the wild birds now as I hav'nt done that yet so BBL.

Afternoon all ,

I had another disturbed night with Max poor little boy still has the trots ,he had been fine all day and had small chicken and rice meals then at half three this morning he wanted to go and went quite a few times with the last two having blood in them.

I rang the vet and had a word with her and she has given him six days antibiotics, she said the blood was normal after having the tum upset like that .

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun shine.

Afternoon all,

Lovely day here, after a very heavy downpour last night.

I haven't touched the rotavator this morning. Instead Ros was going to spray the Bungalow roof at the front where it is covered in moss. Needless to say I stepped in and told her SHE WAS NOT DOING IT. !!! I covered my arms legs etc with long trousers and shirt as it's not good to get it on your skin.

It took me over an hour to clear the gutter of moss, and spray as far as I could along the roof. It has finished me off for the day. I am now sitting in my u/pants before going for a shower. I have washed all my arms where the spray got me. I think it's called "SPRAY AND FORGET"

Just had the vet on the phone reminding us of tomorrow :-( We shall be glad when it's over!! Sorry to hear about Max Mandy. Cas had the runs back in the winter and we gave her rice and scrambled egg which worked well, but maybe better to check with your vet first or the Lab forum. Hope he's better soon. I showed his pic to OH and he thinks he's a beautiful little chap! I think he thinks we chose the wrong breed!!! Only joking, he's devoted to Cas!
We've got duck breasts for lunch, New Jersey royals and a side salad! All prepared and cooked by OH!

O poor chap having another bad night. I do hope he gets better soon.

Could it be the injections upsetting his tum?

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 8 May 2016 14:55

Thst must have nice to have a catch up with your brother David , i see you said the other day that you now have your Blue Badge ,any nearer finding a car ?

No Mel not the injection as he had the poorly tum before the injection.
It's just one of those things , hopefully the tablets will do the job.

Poor little Cas will wonder why theres no breakfast for her in the morning :-( Max keeps looking for his treats ,i have to turn the other way and not look at him.

Luckily Mandy, we put her breakfast forward, so she doesn't get it now till.about 9.30 after her morning walk, so she won't be worried about that. We have to be at the Vets by 9.00, not looking forward to it at all!!!!

Frank Report 8 May 2016 16:18

Good luck tomorrow Liz, it will all be done and dusted before you know it. Will they keep her there to recover and give you a call later in thr day ??

Mandy Max is looking a CHAMPION. What a picture he looks relaxing with his socks. xx

Does your brother live far from you David ?? It must be nice to have a chat and put the world to right. I do that with my Nephew, and an old friend of many years on a regular basis.

Well I came in from the garden and left Ros to it. She has just come in and showered and washed her hair.. She cleaned all down after me making a mess getting the moss out of the gutter..She also watered the front garden and all the pots and baskets down the drive and given the patio a good soaking. I have just been down and watered the greenhouse. The runnrer beans will soon have to go in, as they are getting so big..

I have prepared the Veg. for dinner tonight and made the pudding. Will have that around 6.00 pm as our usual eating time during the week.

Beed a blinder of a day. Lets hope it continues a few more days.

Have a pleasant evening and don't forget The Durrels and Home Fires.

Liz it is horrible having to take and leave our pets at the vets. Not being able to exlain to them why you are doing it too is hard. But Cas will soon be back with you :-D..ill she have to have a 'lampshade'?

Mandy is Max able to have fish and rice.I would buy a bit of Coley or Cod for Chester sometimes to have with rice instead of Chicken. That was always a great hit .I do his tummy stops trotting soon.I wonder why it is just at night.
I haven't seen Thomas since 3am !!..I always start to worry when it has been this long.I just hope he is sleeping somewhere in the shade. This heat is very draining and with his thick coat it must be even worse.

The car was showing 30 when I got in it this morning !!! but it settled to 26.I have all the curtains pulled to try and keep some of the heat out and have got the big fan on in the lounge.I bet it will be an uncomfortable night.

That was nice to have such a good old chat with your Brother on his Birthday David. Is he the one in Daventry?

I have started dragging out all my clothes ready for the weekend and the off.I bought a brilliant thing from Lakeland that you can hang clothes on hangers on so that has come in very handy.I can see everything at a glance and it will be easy for me to decided what things go with what .I will be faffing all week now :-S..Tomorrow afternoon I have my appointment at the hospital with the Rheumatologist.Tuesday I have my nice relaxing eye tretment massage thingy(that was my Mothers Day Present from James but I thought I would have it just before the holiday .Thursday it is haircut ..It will be all go.

I think I will go and whistle and see if Thomas is about.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 May 2016 16:46

I wonder if Cas will have a lampshade? I can't remember when we had Tammy done when I worked for the PDSA if she did or not. You don't want her ning ninging her stitches.

Must tell you this Jnae you know the ad where the cat is kneading the dogs head and sucking it. It makes oh feel sick. He said he hates cat the suck. Actually he just hates cats... think he has had some nasty experiences whilst in the fire brigade.

Been up the border and done some digging of sorts. My back tummy and knees don't like it though. I got down on my knees and had a job to get up again! :-0

magpie

magpie Report 8 May 2016 17:04

No apparently she won't wear a lampshade, as our Vet has a natty sort of body sock affair that they can put on to stop her nibbling her stitches. Millie simply wouldn't keep a lampshade on whether we had her done so we bought her a childs jersey which worked well. Yes we shall drop her off Frank, and then pick her up in the afternoon, all being well!
The winds dropped here now, and it's really nice outside. Yes we're all geared up for the final episode of the Durrells and Undercover tonight. Home Fires will be recorded to watch tomorrow or whenever!
