My brother lives approx. 230 miles south of here. We chat by phone on birthdays and at Christmas.
I looked up which car has the most leg room and found it to be Ford Focus C-MAX Haven't bought one yet. Motability is out of the question, so I won't pursue that route.

Hope all goes well with Cas tomorrow Liz, they will probably sedate her early on to stop her fretting Its good she wont have a lampshade, bless her
Also Max, Mandy, I give our pets Coley as Jane said they really seem to like it. I always keep some frozen in the freezer just in case, Sainsbury sell already frozen which is handy.
I'm pleased for you Jane that your eyes are ok regarding the floaters, has Thomas showed up yet? Amy is fast asleep on the floor where she can catch the breeze from the patio doors in the conservatory which are both wide open and the sun has moved round now the two cats are no where to be seen at the moment. It is still very hot,

No Anne ,Thomas is still AWOL :-(..I'm getting worried now.
Oh Mel I just love that advert with the cat and Dog.I remember one of my Sisters cats called Kia.She would snuggle up on your shoulder and suck your earlobe :-D :-D I loved it when she did it with me :-D :-D
I am afraid I lost track of the Durrells.I might have to see if I can catch up with it on Catch Up :-D..Under cover BRILLIANT :-D
It sounds like you have had a good day Frank NO ACCIDENTS :-D What did Ros have to say about the broken pane in the Greenhouse? :-) :-)
A body stocking thing sounds much better than a 'Lampshade' Liz.I hate the Lampshades .It must be so confusing for the animals having this great thing stuck around their heads. So David you have found a suitable car for you :-D :-D :-D.That is good. Will you go for one?
Still no Thomas :-(

I'm up to date with the wshing too. Make hay while the sun shines and all that.
A body stocking sounds a much better idea than the lampshade thing. I always thought they would funnel sounds to the dogs ears more and frighten them that way.
Been back up the border and done a bit more. I now have about three foot by one foot dug now and a bit further back too. There is so much twitch and bindweed roots in it and blimmin buttercups on top too. I did'nt dig this bit last year at all so its not surprizing its hard.
Better get the cheese and biscuits now.
Still no Gill??

Evening All,
I hope all goes well with Cas tomorrow. I bet you will be glad when it's all done now Liz. The body stocking thing sounds a good idea and less of a hindrance.
I hope the antibiotics soon clear up little Max's poorly tum Mandy. I suppose they have quite delicate tums as puppies till they have built up some immunity. It must have been worrying to see the blood though.
I hope you enjoy your eye massage Jane (i've never had one of those!) and good luck with your appointment at the hospital. I know what you mean about deciding on clothes for your holidays, then deciding on shoes to go with outfits. Sometimes I think I should just wear black, grey and white, it would be much easier! :-)
David, what did the advert used to say.........'It's good to talk'. I bet your brother enjoyed the chat.
Anne I was looking at one of those dashboard cameras recently. They are a good idea for any dispute in an accident!
We slept like logs again as well Mel. We haven't had so much sun here by the sound of it, patchy with more cloud. The temperature has only reached about 17 degrees today so that suits me fine and I'm quite glad I'm not at home after reading what Jane has said about the temperatures!! :-0 lol. My tomatoes will be right up the canes when we get back with that heat. We both felt much less achey today and went to look at one of the easier gardens as my knees have been worse the last month or two (probably due to my weight going up!). The Camellias and Rhododendrons were beautiful and we got to see a bit of the house which has now been opened to the public. We had a lovely carvery lunch afterwards with the most delicious lemon meringue desert I have ever tasted.
OH is wallowing in bubbles again and I am starting a necklace kit I've brought with me, then we are watching The Durrells too.
It is strange we haven't heard from Gill at all so I hope all is well. No word from Fiona either? Oh just saw Jane's post re Fiona, so she's ok.

Morning all and evening Kim,
Brightish morning but its cloudy if you know what I mean. There's more grey clouds than blue sky.
I do hope Thomas came home last night and shall be on tenter hooks till Jane tells us.
Bit achey after my digging yesterday but not as bad as I thought I would be if you know what I mean.
Sounds like you had a lovely meal out yesterday Ann and I would have chosen the Lemon meringue desert too. Which reminds me I hav'nt made on of those for years.
Good to know Fiona is on the mend but still not using the pc. Get well soon so you can post again with us. Sending love and wisihes. <3 <3
Shall be thinking of little Cas today and wishing her well with the op. Love to Liz and Ian too as I know they will be worried till she comes round from the op. <3 <3 <3

Afternoon all,
Well i have been one bizy boy. I helped Ros do the back guttering this morning (I held the steps) !!! She has washed the facia and cleaned the bedroom window.
I went down to do a bit more rotorvating. It went well after all the soaking and the rain the other night. Got down a good 5 inches. I then put up the netting and canes for the runners. I have put in 38 plants along the bottom fence and beside the greenhouse. I had 15 plants over so offered some to my neighbour who lives at the bottom left of my garden beside my pond. I took one tray of four to him, as I was coming back along the side of the shed, I slipped and ended up in the POND. It's the shallow end so I was able to climb out. I gave him the other tray, and sat down to dry out. Ros came down the garden when she heatd the SPLASH.
Trust both doggies are recovering from their upset tummy and operation. Give them a big CUDDLE from me.
Where you off to this weekend Jane ?? I thought you were going on Holiday after I got back from Spain. !!
Glad the Fiona is progressing back to good health. Look forward to her return. to the group.xx
Our Blackbirds are compeating for top SONG. The noise has been deafening. One sits in the Cherry tree, another on next doors airial and another in our big pine tree in the front garden. I had to close the window earlier, what with their noise and the Council mowing the verges. Ca't seem to get any peace and quite, !!!
Not good when you see a hawk take a bird Mel. But that's nature, as much as we don't like it. Plenty of bird activite in the garden. Now that the earth has been turned over on my "Patch" they are around your feet grabbing at all the critchers that have been bought to the surface..
Ros is down the garden tidying up the mess I have left. I just can't do anymore today.
Ann, I see the South West are in for some HEAVY RAIN this afternoon/evening. I hope it doesen't spoil you afternoon out. What ever you might be doing, ENJOY IT !!
I am going to call Ros is now, as I need to get showered, I will have her handy in case I topple in the shower. My legs and back are killing me at the mo.
;-) ;-) ;-)

Well, I still haven't raised the energy to get in the shower.
I went down the garden to tell Ros. That I won't be cooking tonight as I was taking her out. OH NO. It means I have to get showered and changed. So I said don't bother :-| :-| :-| will get dinner, which I have done Cold beef warmed up in oniones and gravy. Mashed Pots. Carots Cabbage and Runners..
Have been day dreaming this afternoon. What can I do for our 40th Anniversary June 2018. I have been looking at the MALDIVES and the SEYSHELLS. No idea what thr cost will be then, but I know it will mean saving in a seperate account for the next couple of years. It's nice to dream, isn't it. But I suppose we could go to Hastings where we went on Honeymoon in 1988. That's when I entered the World Cod fishing Contest.. My she has had to put up with me, hasn't she.
Glad Cas will be O.K. to be picked up this evening, lots of love and cuddles this evening then. I hope you get your problem sorted soon also Liz. with B.T.
I am off to the shower now. Promise.

Afternoon All,
Yes Frank, we've had quite a bit of rain overnight and today but it's stopped now and is very misty looking out of the window. I think we are due more tomorrow so we'll be finding a NT place to go to I expect!! We went into Truro today looking at the shops and I spent a fair bit at the bead shop. I had a good chat with the lady there as she has made some beautiful things. We had a nice lunch out.....I had a spinach and ricotta lasagne with salad and OH had some kind of risotto with chicken.
Well fancy you falling in the pond now!! As I said, as soon as my back's turned!! OH fell in the pond at my old house once while I was out and I came home to find him in some bermuda shorts I had that he'd found to wear!! I hope you haven't hurt yourself, but I bet you will ache and have some bruises.
That's good that Cas has been done and is ok Liz. I bet she wondered why she wasn't going with you when you left her.
Hopefully Max won't have anymore trots Mandy and you should know by the morning.
David, you need to go and try sitting in a Ford Focus C- Max somewhere at a garage now to be sure you will have enough legroom and whether any adjustment will need to be made for you to reach the steering wheel and pedals. I think it is scandalous that people can't get a motability car just because of your age being too old to claim the qualifying benefits. It hits older people who are more likely to have mobility problems.

Well, we're back with one very sleepy dog all done up in her special jump suit!! She's been a very good girl and absolutely no trouble at the vests. We have to take her back on Thursday to check her stitches, and then the following Thursday to have he stitches out. No running or jumping for at least a week, and only lead walks till the stitches are out! We're really pleased she's been done, no more checking her out and keeping tabs on her well being!!! About to have supper now, then hopefully Cas will have a bit of scrambled egg and rice. Hope Max is better Mandy.
