Been raining here all day and it's finally stopped and the slabs are now drying out ,Max is not that keen on going out in the rain i have to go first then he follows so i have a big brolly that i have proped up by the back door that i can grab as i go .
Yes Jane Max is much better now i have put him back on his biscuits today poor little boy seemed really hungry , i bought him an Antler Horn today to chew on there was an old boy at the vets the other day who was telling us about them ,they are a bit pricy but last a long while.
I sent Gill a photo of Max last saturday but haven't had a reply ,just hope it's trouble with the internet and nothing else.
The doctor always does my blood pressure twice as the first go is always high ! I haven't heard about my blood test yet ,it's the same as you Jane the doctor thinks i might have Ostioarthritis and not Rumatriod Arthritis now , i must go in and see if the results are back.
Glad you got your internet sorted Liz, we had trouble with a wire once, the wire went under one of those carpet strips that go across the doorway ,it had got nipped up and had almost cut through the wire .
Well i hope its a better day tomorrow it seems to have been a long day being in all day ,i think it's after having the nice sunny days .
Jane i got on the scales this morning and i was really pleased as i had lost a bit more ,so its about two stone i have now lost ,i had to go through all my trousers in the wardrobe to find some to fit most of mine are two big round the waist and baggy round the back side now. I still need to lose more though ,i must say i do feel much better for it ,especially now i have to keep chasing after Max when he gets things he shouldn't, once i can walk him that should keep me fit too.

No Liz I have never had BP trouble. It has always been on the lower side. This morning one was 140/81 which is fine .I will check again just to make sure.I am wondering if the hospital machine was not really showing the right reading as it took blooming ages and the belt around my arm was pumped up for soooooo long.I thought my arm was going to drop off. Chris did his this morning and his is a bit on the high side.I think some weight loss for both of us is the thing needed.(will start once the holiday is over :-D) I don't intend stinting myself of good food and wine in France :-D

Evening All,
That's good Max is seeming better now Mandy. The antler horn is interesting! Mind you, I seem to remember when horses were shod, dogs would pick up the bits the blacksmith cut off and that is the same kind of substance as horn so they must like it. :-)
Doesn't Cas look good in her 'pony rug'..........much better than a lampshade. She does look all grown up now like Mel says and I hope she isn't too sore. She does look a bit sorry for herself.
Jane that was a high reading and I think mine would have shot up even higher after being told that!! Mine is always a bit higher at the surgery but OH's shoots up too, but not quite that high! :-0 Poor Podge sounds as if something's not quite right with him. Older cats can get kidney trouble can't they. Is he jittery or more anxious as it might be an overactive thyroid.
Enjoy your footie tonight Frank..........OH mentioned that match........like I needed to know!! lol. He has found a local match to go to tonight though so I am enjoying peace and quiet with a great view over the countryside. We have had NONE of the rain that was forecast for today, just glorious sunshine and the car was showing 25 degrees. :-D What a turnaround!! We went to the Norway Inn again where we went Sunday for lunch and had their Tuesday pensioner carvery offer. Very nice too with a strawberry desert. :-) Then, as there was no sign of rain, we went back to those lovely bluebell gardens we found last year. My knees haven't felt up to doing my 2 favourite gardens down here that go right down to the sea. I know it's probably through being one and a half stones heavier than I was this time last year, so I've made a start on losing some again now. You have done really well Mandy and it's very satisfying to have looser waistbands isn't it!
The Hospital Research Centre has emailed me. The 2 lead Professors have asked that I be contacted to see if I will do another interview similar to the last I did for the study I was part of. It seems they were impressed :-0 and want to include an interview with someone who has taken part in one of their studies as part of an application they are making in connection with a Biomedical Research Centre which is to be at one of the three city hospitals. The 2 Professors are both on a list of the top 10 global experts on Diabetes, so with such important work they do, I have said yes, of course, as I feel it is a privilege to be asked to help albeit in this small way, despite my nerves! A professional film company will be involved this time.........don't know quite what difference that will mean? More nail biting for me over the next few weeks!!!!

Liz, Cas looked so sweet in your photos, bless her, I hope she makes a quick recovery.
Jane, my BP always goes sky high when its taken at the surgery, my doctor told me I suffer from white coat hypertension and advised I buy my own machine, I always take my readings when I go for a check up and he doesn't bother taking it anymore.
Mandy pleased to hear Max is o.k. now, I've never heard of Antler horn but I think Amy might not be interested as she is an old lady now.
I am fortunate that I don't have to worry about my weight my parents were both slim and Colin is the same. So I don't have to watch what I eat.
Ann you must be pleased that you are being asked back for another interview with the Hospital research centre, what a compliment, It sounds like you are enjoying your holiday and the weather is being kind to you.I love bluebell woods when I was small there was a bluebell wood belonging to Watersland where Mum and I stayed with her Aunt Kate during the war years.

Forgot to come on here after shopping. I got home at 3pm and then cleaned the chikcens out and the bantams.
Glad Max 's tum is better now. We shall need another pic of him soon as they grow so quickly at this stage. It will be lovely when you can take him out and about. I bet you will get stopped by everyone who wants to pet him. You just can't resist a puppy can you?
Well we did'nt have the rain here either. As I came home I had a few spots about 6 miles from home but it did'nt turn into anything and passed over. We have had a few spots since I arrived home this evening but nothing like they forcast.
Oh has been using his new spayer as there was no wind today and he thought it would dry before the rain came. When he went round tonight while I was doing the chickens you could see the weeds in the lawn were feeling the effect of the spray because they ahve started to curl up.

Cas much better this morning although she's still a bit subdued!! It's tipping with rain here, so not having to take her for a walk is a bit of a bonus!! She's not very keen on the babygrow and I think she thinks she's been naughty, and that we're making her wear it be because we're cross with her!!! Not sure what we're doing today, hope it clears up later as OH wants to do a bit of planting out!

Morning all and evening KIm,
Raining here today...............................That fine stuff that Jane calls Devon Mist. No thats not true it is gentle Spring Rain. There is no breeze so everythin gis still but for the rain.
Its a good sign Cas is feeling better if she is taking notice of her babygrow now Liz. It must take a while to get all the anaesthetic out of her system same as humans.
Cars MOT today so I better get it up there.

Afternoon all
I'm finally back. I've not been able to get online for over a week as my silly router has been playing up, I have a loose wire and really should get a new router as sometimes the wire won't connect. I've managed to get it back in place for now, but for how long who knows?
I haven't read any posts yet, so will go and do that now.
Hope everyone is okay. See you all later :-)

Nice to see you back Gill, we were all wondering if you were ok! We've had trouble with our internet connection too, and that was a loose wire! Luckily OH managed to run it to earth with the help of the BT helpline, and we're ok now. Absolutely tipping down here!!

Afternoon All, I will try again,
Pleased to hear Cas is more comfotable this morning Liz, I expect she will need a couple of days to get over the operation.
Oh I see our Gill is back. Lets hope you have fixed your router, and you can stay with us. It was a wonderful evening for me last night, to see West Ham play their Final Match at their Stadium. The iceing on the cake was that we beat Manchester United 3 --2. I bet there will be a lot of supporters unable to speak after last night.
We woke up to rain this morning, and it's damping in the air now. I don't expect to see any yellow stuff today.
Glad you are having better weather than us Ann, when are you back. ??
No pictures coming through again Liz, My outbox has still got pjoto's that haven't gone through yet. So that must be the trouble..
Is it right that we have to register to vote on the referendum in June, if so where do we do it ?? and how ???
Ros has done the ironing and made the Steak and Kidney pie and done, Brussels, runners, carrots and potato's ready to boil and mash. this evening, so another day off for me.. What have I done to deserve this treatment. ??
I was hoping to get some seeds sown in my "patch" today, but it is far to wet, So I will have a complete day off..
Going to catch the news and get a bit of lunch.

Oh dear Frank! It must be in your outbox, let's hope it frees up soon. Frank, If you are already registered to vote you don't have to register for the referendum. There is some info on Google telling you how to register if you need to. Still raining here, so I shall be watching Indian Summers this afternoon. OH is busy in his workshop designing some bits for his mobile bandsaw!! Supper is a chop each, New potatoes, and peas, fairly easy!!!

I've finally finished reading all the posts, there were so many I can't remember them all.
I love all the photo's of the dogs and hope they are both feeling better now.
Pleased to hear Lewis has got his car now Frank and wasn't it nice of him to buy Ros some flowers. Has he taken you both out anywhere nice yet?
That's good news your car passing it's MOT Mel, the price was good too. That's one less thing to think about now.
It's been raining here a lot today but thankfully has stopped now.
OH and I have made a start on the garden the other day but still have lots more to do. He's not off work until Friday so we're hoping to make one of our patio's a bit bigger so we can move the greenhouse over onto it. We want to take a hedge out and replace it with a fence as it was growing almost over the top of the greenhouse and blocking the light out. OH's tomatoes are doing really well and Sandra's strawberries have lots of flowers and a few small strawberries on them.
Just going to check on the dinner now, I've only had a small sandwich hours ago and I'm starving so thought I'd eat a bit earlier today or I'll go past it and won't eat anything at all. I'm really tired today as I had a late night last night, so it looks like an early night for me tonight :-)

AFTERNOON ALL Gill, its great to have you back again :-D..We were all getting rather worried with your absence !! Fingers crossed the wire stays in place now :-D
Poor Cas Liz.It is probably the anaesthetic still in her system making her a bit lethargic still.Bless her .She will be glad to get rid of her body stocking LOL.She probably feels a bit silly in it :-D :-D :-D and maybe a little embarrased LOL.It does look just the right thing though to protect her stitches.
That was good your car passed the MOT Mel. £49 is pretty good :-DIt is always a relief when they pass.
Frank,I think if you are already on the register for previous voting you won't need to do anything other than wait for your Voting Cards to come through the door.
Well it has been another wet and miserable day here. But finally it looks like it might be brightening up. I did have a rain jacket on the line which was just getting wetter and wetter so I decided to get it in.I didn't get as far as the washing line as when I opened the back door Thomas was there ready to run in with a mouse !! Luckily I just managed to shut the door in time,so he was left out in the rain chasing it around the patio.I think he must have caught and had it for a snack as I can see no sign of it.
I have got one of those lovely M&S Rotisserie Style Chickens (in a bag) cooking at the moment .It smells so good. When that is done I will pop some cubes of Butternut Squash with Red Onion and Peppers in and Anya Potatoes.Veg is Baby Carrots and Brocolli .
I think the sun is trying to come out :-D

Evening all , Its been quite a bright day here today , we haven't seen a lot of the sun but it hasn't been cold we hzve got a few jobs done in the garden.
Nice to see you back with us Gill , we've been wondering if you were ok, glad you have the wire sorted for the time being .
Poor little Cas ,they must wonder if they have done some thing wrong when they go through some thing like that, and then having to be trussed up in the baby grow too. She will soon be back to her old self .
Thats very good for the MOT Mel spread over the year thats cheap motoring .
When son called for the van this morning he said whats in that box beside our wall the church yard side of the wall, so we went to look and the stink !! :-| The box is a plastic tub all sealed up with RIP Sandie written on the top, we think its got some thing dead inside !! I rang Breckland Council and they said some one will come and pick it up ,it was still there at 4.30 so i rang again , was told it has a time of 24 hours for it to be picked up so should be done by 9 in the morning. Just hope in the mean time no one decides to chuck it over our wall!!

Afternoon All,
Just a 10 minute shower this afternoon but no sun and quite a bit of mist, cooler too. Sorry you lost your post again Frank. I seem to be doing it more lately too and keep forgetting to 'copy and paste'. That's nice Ros getting dinner ready for tonight. We are travelling back home this Friday.
Ah ha, Gill is back!! It's good your internet is sorted now, we were wondering about you. :-) How are the mothers now? I see you have started on your garden so did you get a design off someone or will that come later when you have shifted the greenhouse?
Yes Anne, OH thought it was a compliment too. The film producer let me know today that it will be either a week tomorrow or the week after in the afternoon. I always try to get to see some bluebells each year, but most unusual, these all grow in the open and not in woods. The wild garlic was in flower among them too and lots of primroses.
It's always a good feeling when they say your car has passed the MOT!! :-D Sometimes you can get a shock and a hefty bill! It must take quite a lot of weedkiller to spray at your place Mel.
I meant to say that before we came down here I asked OH to get my old steering wheel lock out of the garage to put on my car at home while we were away. When he found it the mice had chewed the plastic that covers the metal at the end of it. I don't know what attracted them to it.
Jane, it was lucky you spotted Thomas' catch and diverted him! Are you nearly packed ready for your hols now?
We have seen one very skinny looking fox in a field of sheep with lambs while we've been here. The farmer had Llamas in the next field, but none in with the sheep. They would have seen the fox off.

Well I have made a start today matching up clothes and sorting undies ready for packing on Saturday.I just find it so hard not to take too many clothes .Most of the holidays we go on I only wear about a quarter of what I take...Why is it more difficult for us ladies ??? Then it is shoes and all the toiletries :-S
