Had lunch and just put the towels on the line and am having a cuppa.
Oh got on quite well with the fencing this morn ing but had to go up to get some more poles out the old workshop. Lost his cigs on the way and when he found them he had thrown the poles on them as they were squashed.

Carolyn has just called round with the Sarga of todays visit. Then was taken into the room that had been made(John and her) got to hospital at 8.30 am waited around untill 11.00 am, The nurse took her into a room to get undressed and told what was going to happen. They sat for another two hours. Finally she was taken into a sterile room for the biopsy to be done. It was then that they found the MACHINE wasn't working. They couldn't get another, so it looks like she will have to go back tomorrow. The appointment for her hands will have to be cancelled yet again. This is the THIRD TIME.
Well I have had a real lazy day, apart from getting dinner ready for tonight I have sat reading and watching T.V.
So trouble is on her way home. I expect she has had a nice week away. We will hear from her later no doubt.
Patio nice and clean no then Mandy. Fancy your old man crushing his fags Mel. He should give them up like you did <3 <3 ;-) ;-) ;-)

Frank I did think he would but he is showing no signs of it.
He is out mowing at the moment. We were going to move the chicken house into the new run but the digger would'nt start so we are charging up the jump start machine.
I cut around the arch with the clemetis on it in the orchard. The grass was about a foot tall where his mower won't reach and I have daff bulbs there too to the side.
I better go and have a look in the freezer and see if I can find something for dinner tonight.

Afternoon All,
After a lovely sunny morning and afternoon it just chucked it down with rain and HAIL!
Glad you've kept upright today Frank. ;-) You have been busy planting seeds I see. It will be pointless appealing against any planning application if/when one goes in if last time is anything to go by!! The district planners just overuled the council's decision. :-S I imagine if they do eventually also build in the 2 fields behind us it will be an extension of the commercial units and not houses.
I hope you enjoyed your lunch Anne. The garden centres do some lovely food these days. The nearest to us does some delicious home made cakes too. :-) How nice that Abby has such a nice polite boyfriend. I bet you look forward to Amy's walks with all the blossoms to see.
I told OH he was chuntering about traffic etc again this morning. I made him laugh as I said I was going to write a book called 12 Month's Chuntering and his retort was that it would be as long as War and Peace!! lol.
I must remember to record the Great Sewing Bee tonight! :-)
I wonder if Jane used or even took her folding walking stick with her? Maybe she 'accidentally' forgot it! ;-)

I thought you still did smoke Mel? perhaps I got that wrong! Neither of us have ever smoked thank goodness as it can be so difficult to give up. My S-father smoked all his life and it certainly contributed to his death aged 67 from cancer of the oesophegus. My mother gave up smoking in 1956! and never touched another cigarette from that day till the day she died in 1986! Been a lovely day here. Son rang to make sure we're ok! He sounded very chipper so that's good! Cas is so much better. Her wound has almost completely closed and is now nice and flat with next to no swelling. She's full of beans and is back on the trail of her dummy that OH has started to hide for her to find! Keeps her occupied for ages!!

Well what a to do for Carolyn having to wait all that time and then for them to find the machine isn't working , was Ros with her then or was Ros going in later to sit with her?
OH must do a lot of chuntering if you could write a book about them Ann :-D i usually say to hubby oh you don't half go on ,but now i shall say " oh do stop chuntering " :-D I have the Sewing Bee on record but i haven't seen last weeks yet .
Thats good Cas is getting back to her old self Liz ,you'll be able to go away now with worries .
Nice and sunny here now but the sky has been really black at times i thought we were in for some rain.

I had an indifferent day yesterday. Nothing to do with the EU Referendum.
Went fishing down at the beach in the morning. Weather prospects were good & had just settled down waiting for a catch when another chap ambled along moaning under his breath, as if he didn’t want the fish to hear him, that I was sitting too near to him.
No bother I said as I moved away a few extra yards leaving my jacket behind. Didn't notice till the tide decided to flow - too late. My weather-proof jacket does float but unfortunately my wallet inside it does not. Managed to grasp said items eventually by which time I was up to my waist in salty water, seagull droppings, cigarette butts & discarded chip bags, but no fish.
I should have followed St Peter's example mentioned in the Bible when hook & line proved inadequate in the Sea of Galilee compared to fishing nets which were in regular use there at the time. Nobody encouraged me to try once more to cast my net, if I had one, with the anticipated reward of a great haul. But the authorities would pounce on me like a tonne of feathers if I attempted such a dastardly deed in contravention of the local fishing rules.
Still, never mind. Decided to go for a well deserved cooling pint in the early afternoon at the pub just down the road. No fishing rods allowed inside pub, the big Notice warned. Stood mine outside as I skipped inside to order the anticipated refreshment. Trainee bar tender was producing excess froth as only trainees know how & must have wasted three pints to fill my glass.
Ah great! A chilled pint at last outside on the pub's veranda where, to my dismay, my fishing rod must have got bored waiting for me - up & left without warning. Looking around at the increasing numbers of fellow fishers nearby, began to consider which miserable miscreant nicked my goods.
Left my untouched drink on the table & nonchalantly ambled along the beach to see if I could spot my missing equipment. Not too difficult to do - it's about 10 years old with various bits of string & staples holding it together. It would stick out a mile from all the other flashy rods & ice-buckets in the vicinity.
No such luck. Gave up the search & returned to my pint to refresh my dwindling spirit. "I wouldn't drink from that glass" said a deep voice from a few tables away, a bearded chap hanging on to his small dog on his lap - or was it a large rat? Hard to say sometimes & I wasn't wearing my spectacles. "There have been at least two seagulls poking their gob into that glass of beer & they have now ambled away a bit unsteady on their feet. They are bound to have a hangover in the morning". Drat! And double drat!
Well, thank you all for wasting your precious time in reading this short piece of utter gibberish, with only a few more weeks till we all enthusiastically vote on the EU Referendum. Anyway, I’m popping out later for some fish & chips produced by our very own respected seaside Gourmet down at the local chippy! No fishing rod needed there!
“Salt & vinegar, sir?”

Gill, if you look in, I hope you have a lovely day with your daughter. Frank I hope your friend soon recovers from all her ailments. Mandy, you're right, we can go off this weekend without any problems with Cas. I hope Max is ok with his poorly tum. Hello to Jane on your return, hope your holiday went well. I'm signing out till after the Bank holiday. We've got a couple of busy days, then we're off on Thursday by popular request, and back Tuesday morning. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Once again Dermot I had a good laugh at your unhappy day. I hope you told the silly pub owner that your rod was nicked from outside. What a silly thing to say that you can't bring your rod into the pub. If you get a new one you'll have to buy a clamp to fix it to a post outside.
May I please ask which beach you were at?
Liz I am so pleased that Cas is now almost completely better after her op and all healed well with not swelling. Give her a cuddle for me please? <3
We've had a lovely sunny day here today all day. When I shut the banties in tonight and it was still light I watched the barn owl flying across the back field behind Prickly Hollow to the east. He went down and then headed back to the big house so I expect he caught a vole or mouse.
My banties were running around the back lawn yesterday with a little toad with only three legs. Naughty girls............
Well I am off now for a nice shower and a bit of telly after as I want to see The Chelsea Flower show. I watch it all each year to see if I can steal any ideas. I must admit I don't really like these new modern type gardens. Too stark for me with all the big slabs of stuff standing in the beds and one the ground.

The wanderer has returned :-D..Just arrived home and thoroughly exhausted. My feet are like pumpkins :-S.So it is straight off to bed for me now.Unpacking will have to wait until the morning. Can't wait to get into my own bed even though the Hotel beds were comfy. But they aren't the same .I think it is the pillows I really miss.Hotel ones are never that great.
Dermot what a day you had LOL. I love reading a bit of a bit of old good gibberish :-D :-D.Hope you enjoyed your Fish and Chips :-D
Liz enjoy your days.I forgot it is a BH weekend coming up !! It's also our Anniversary on the 30th (forgot that too !)
Ann I did take that folding stick but just had a practise with it in the hotel room then decided I would lean on Chris if I needed too :-D...I have notched up a fair few miles of walking in the last week(with the help of a load of painkillers :-D )Chris reckons we did about 3 and a half miles a day.No wonder my feet look like they do !
I must get to bed.I want to unpack and get the washing machine going tomorrow before I go and get Thomas.I wonder how he has been.He will have missed all the fresh Rabbits and Mice.
Is it tomorrow you see Michelle Gill ? Have a wonderful time if it is.
Hannah has a new boyfriend :-D :-D..I say new.I reckon it must have been for a fair time as she says they are going to Italy for a few days at the end of June !!!.She is a dark horse..The funny thing is he knows my Nephew (Williams Daddy).Comes from the same place and used to play Rugby with him. What a small world.Hannah showed us a couple of pics of 'Gareth' and I have to say he is a good looker :-D :-D..I wonder when we might get to meet him !!!. Anyway I will catch up on the posts tomorrow .I need lots of ZZZZZ's now. Night Night x

Morning all and evening Kim,
So the wanderer returns safe and sound and I am pleased to hear it even if you have swollen feet a good nights sleep in your own bed should help a lot.
Not a bad morning here dry and quite bright. I eed to get my washing on the line as I remembered to put the washing machine on last night before I went to bed.
I think it is today that Michelle visits Gill and takes her boyfriend with her Jane.
Donkey day for me but I think first we have to move the chicken house into the new run. As the rabbits can't bite through the wire I bet they will dig underneath it but at least the chickens should'nt get under it like they could when they bit through the leccy fencing.

I will start with Good morning all, Evening Kim, but I am sure to finish in the afternoon, !!
Welcome home TROUBLE Pumkins and all <3 <3 <3 You have been missed as usual. ;-) ;-) ;-) Glad you had a nice break even if you had to do all that walking. Did you loose any weight ??
Fortunately Ros didn't get to the hospital, as Carolyn rang me and I rang Ros. So that saved her a trip. Carolyn goes for her hand treatment this morning, then onto the biopsy dept, for her kindeys. Ros is going in this afternoon about 2.00 to sit with her.
So you are off for a few days Liz, whatever you do, enjoy yourselves and take care. <3 <3
We have Alexand.ers Birthday Party on Saturday afternoon, so no pub at lunchtime for me. But we will have JJ to come home too which will be nice. As it's B H weekend I think JO will stay at Kerry's till Monday or Tuesday, she will collect JJ on the way home and Drop JAN here. She has managed to get the same flight as us on the 1st
I have cut the front lawn and trimmed the edges, also trimmed the edges of the back lawn. I didn't do that when I cut it the other day. I have also put "Sticky Bands" round the apple tree.
Mel don't forget your NEW TEETH :-D :-D :-D I know you thought that was yesterday :-| :-| Enjoy your "DONKEY DAY"
So Hannah has a new boy friend. I wonder how long that's been going on, before she told you Jane ?? She might let it out in conversation, without knowing it ;-) ;-) ;-)
We both gave up smoking in the 90s, the best thing we ever did. I think Tony next door had bad news from the doctors a few months ago. Because he PACKED up smoking the very same day. He hasn't mentioned anything to me, but he seems to be loosing weight and getting thinner in the face. So hope it' not what I think it might be. !!!
Thanks again Dermot for your interesting tail of a "DAYS FISHING" What sort of person would steal anothers persons tackle. Their hands should fall off !!
It started off a very sunny morning with a light breeze. But now the clouds are coming over. Watch your washing Jane !!!!

Good to see you back safe and sound Jane ,did you do everything you planned to do? I hope you enjoyed a goodnights sleep last night. It will be nice to meet Hannah's new boyfriend as he could be that special one
Liz, have a good break away and pleased to here Cas is now back to her bouncy self again.
Gill I hope you enjoy Michelle's visit and get on well with her boyfriend I expect Sandra is getting excited to meet him and to see her sister again.
Mandy, is your lovely Max better again after his tummy problems.
Dermot I did enjoy reading about your not too successful fishing trip, it was easy to visualise as my Great Uncle used to fish off Hasting's pier, helped by the many seagulls. He was a heavy smoker but lived to well into his eighties I think all the sea air kept him healthy. His name was Oliver Twist which always made me smile.
Frank you have been busy in the garden again and no Frank Spencer moments.
After taking Amy I have spent all morning putting in the new plants and pulling up yet more weeds. There was also a lot of watering to do as it is bright and sunny again with no sign of any rain.
Mel you have been busy giving your banties a new run, hope the shopping trip went well and you haven't forgotten anything.
Amy is looking at me as its her meal time, I'm sure she can tell the time so better get her fed

Afternoon Anne and all,
Ros has gone to sit with Carolyn. From what Ros says, she has been admitted to hospital, so visiting is from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. That will leave the evening to John and any others.
Turning cooler here, the wind is getting up. If it doesn't rain I will have to do some watering later. The clouds are ggetting darker so I might be lucky.
Will have to sort something out for finner tonight. Plenty in the freezer and I think there is something in the fridge..
How are you feeling now Jane ?? Has your feet got back to normal yet ?? How did Thomas enjoy his holiday . I bet he's glad to be home. Has he had a rabbit yet ?? ;-) ;-) ;-)
Time for a COT. see you later.

Afternoon All Well I have finally sat down after Collecting Thomas,2 lots of washing and a big shop at Tesco.I feel quite pooped now.I think my feet have gone down now.My shoes fit much better today :-D.Thomas was as good as gold at the cattery and the lady said out of all the cats she has he would be the one she would want to keep :-D :-D. Guess where he is now....... out on the hunt :-S...James said there have been lots of baby bunnies in the garden while we were away...I bet they will soon be 'no more :-( )
Frank I asked Hannah outright if there was any man on the scene :-D...She was talking about her friends and their partners and all the trouble they seem to be having so it was an ideal opportunity to ask :-D.. I rang my sister and she says Michel(her son ) knows Gareth and his family really well...I just think that is so funny.
Poor Hannah flew out to Santorini this morning and we got a message to say the plane couldn't land as it was too windy. So they had to land in Crete for a while.I think the second attempt is happening now.Not very nice for her as she is on here own and I'm sure she must be feeling a bit apprehensive if the approach to Santorini is going to be a bit iffy !! I will feel happier once she lets us know they have landed safely.
I hope Carolyns biopsy goes well Frank. It will be nice for to have Ros there for company while she has to spend so many hours lying flat.Ros is a wonderful friend. Carolyn really doesn't sound a well woman :-(
We can't believe how much everything in the garden has grown in just a week.Everything has gone crazy !!!!.My herbs need a good cutting back .
Message just through from Hannah She said 'BOOM' just landed ,was a bit of a squeaky bum time !!!!!. At least she had landed safe and sound. She now just needs to get to her accomodation and chill with a nice glass of something while she waits for her friend Sarah to arrive. She is flying out there from Barcelona.Hope she has a better flight.
Chris says he is going to have go for a nap.He didn't come to bed until really late last night as he felt like he was still travelling and then didn't sleep well.I slept like a baby :-D
I hope Gill and family are having a lovely day with Michelle and her Boyfriend.
I am afraid I haven't gone back through all the posts as there are far too many !!!! Have I missed anything important?
Thomas is back in and is stretched out on the floor beside me.He has the wanders and is in and out like a Yoyo. I must get all this shopping put away .Looks like I have bought enough for an army !!
The window cleaner arrived this morning at 7.40 !!!.I was still asleep unti lChris yelled up the stairs to warn me to not open the curtains. I think the cleaner is a week early .Maybe because it is a BH weekend coming up. So lovely clean windows...until a big Pigeon flew into the patio door and now it has those marks from it s wings :-S..Silly bird. Now I will have to go and clean it off.

I missed your post Ann.Yes I think we did much of what we had planned.Paris was a bit of a washout though because of the torrential rain on Sunday. Avignon is lovely with the old City Walls .I did do my dance on The Bridge at Avignon LOL but the pic Chris took of me doing it didn't actually show the bridge(just some railings :-S ) so I could have been on any blooming bridge. The history of the bridge though was very interesting .You have to pay to go on it.
Another message from Hannah. Her friend Sarah (flying from Spain ) has had to land in Athens because of the windy conditions .So she is going to be a long time in arriving in Santorini.Hannah has booked into the accomodation and is now looking for shops to buy some food and wine. She said she has only had a breakfast bar so far today and is in need of some grub.
I just took my last lot of washing out of the machine and everything is covered in bits of tissue :-S :-S :-S... My fault.. I always made sure I had tissues in my trouser pockets just in case there was no loo paper in toilets I visited.I thought I had emptied all pockets :-S.Some loos abroad are not the best of places :-S..So now I have to go and shake off all the 'bits' :-S :-|

Evening All,
Good to see you are back Jane. :-) It sounds like you hit the ground running with all the things you got done today! It sounds like Hannah's boyfriend must be a quite serious one if she's told you about him. :-) I wonder when you'll get to meet him. It sounds like Thomas has found himself a new home at the cattery if he ever needs one! lol. Fancy having to pay to go on the bridge at Avignon. When I went as a teenager you could just wander on as you liked. As time moves on it makes you wonder if anywhere will be free.
Frank, I can't believe what a good friend Ros is. She gives up so much of her time for others. Poor Carolyn must be quite worried and how awful not to get the biopsy over with when she was all ready for it, but at least they are doing it all today.
What a day Dermot, you lost your rod and had your pint spoiled!!
My knees have played up today so I haven't been far! I think I have been overdoing the exercises for them. Just went to the fav carvery and a garden centre. I did plant up some of my pots and the wall ones this morning. It feels like summer now they look pretty with flowers. :-)
Mel, is the bantam run finished now? Mum's chickens had wire netting round that dad put up. I remember the rats would still get in looking for any food that might be left (not much chance!).
I'm meeting my sister for lunch at another garden centre tomorrow. She fell and hurt her back recently and has only just felt like going out. We have both had new cars since we last met so I must remember to look out for the right one!
