Glad you managed to get that naughty Thomas back and he is now confined to barracks. I was worried he may go further than your garden after so long in the house.

FRANK HOW DID YOUR JAM TURN OUT? we are all wanting to know.

I have never used the pectin. I use lemon juice in strawberry jam etc and still get a good set. I also do most of my jam in the micro.

Night night all see you in the morning.

Afternoon all,

Just had a light shower here but it has been nice and sunny all morning .

Yes Jane Lacey is having a birthday tea so we're off there later ,we called in with her pressies this morning ,she wanted some roller skates so we bought her some that fit over her shoes and they can be lengthened as her feet grow.
We also bought her some new Dory sandles they have little lights in the heels that flash as she walks , some clothes and also some money .

Took Max into the vets to be weighed and got his next three months of flea and tape wormer stuff, he now weighs just over 12 kilos !! The little puddin !!

Bells have been ringing there is a wedding at the church ,i have just seen one bridesmaid walk up from the church in a short cerise dress with a ring of flowers in
her hair , then all the guests came up but i must have missed the bride .

Afternoon all

Sunny here today but I think there is a forecast for rain later tonight and tomorrow.

What a shock that must of been when Thomas slipped his lead Jane. You were lucky he didn't go very far and you managed to get him back.

So you've made some Jam Frank, I haven't made jam since I was a child, making it with mum.

I did the test to Ann and came back as Architect.

Happy birthday to Lacey for today and also for yesterday to William

Sorry to hear about your Friend Mel, hope he gets better soon.

Well, the wardrobe is now up and we managed to get a bit more of the framework done in the garden while OH was off work, unfortunately the rain came yesterday so that stopped work in the garden, so we did the wardrobe instead. It's lovely here today but OH is now back in work so the garden will have to wait until both the weather is good and OH is off work again.

Going to catch up on my programmes now as I've haven't got much hard drive space left with recording so much lately and I don't want to run out, so I'd better go and watch some of them.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 25 Jun 2016 15:51

WE've had showers two and one was really heavy as you could see the spashes on the roof of my car going up about 4 inches.

Suns out again now but there is a bit of a very chilly breezey wind.

I was going to do so much today but can't get myself motivated at the moment and I feel cold.

When I cam eback from the shop oh was on the digger on the driveway clearing the edges where the grass had grown over the road. I came down t the house and a little while later oh walked down. The digger had stalled and he could'nt get it started again even with the jump start box thing he has. Now its stuck up the top of the garden so he had to cut the battery leads of it and take the battery off.

It's gone very cloudy here now and windy with it, the temperature has dropped a lot to, so I'm expecting some bad weather soon.

Hope you managed to sort out the digger Mel. I'm the same today, not really in the mood for doing much. All I've done is clean the mirrors on the new wardrobe to remove all OH's fingerprints and changed the bedding. I've got a headache and I'm starting with a bit of a sore throat, I'm very tired today as well. Hope it's just a 24 hour thing as I don't really have the time to be ill at the moment with all the jobs that need doing. I might have a sleep later, see if that helps.

I almost forgot to wish Lacey a Very Happy Birthday. <3 I bet the birthday tea will be well under way now !!.She will be whizzing around on her new skates lol

Gill do you think your throat and head are to do with the very high pollen count? It is high here and we are both sniffing and snorting :-S

Just found Thomas upstairs :-|..Chris left the lounge door open by mistake.I was cleaning the bathroom and heard a little Miaow.Naughty boy.He is obviously getting stronger now on that leg.We have had a couple of trips around the garden today. He just loves ot be out.
I wonder what is wrong with the digger Mel.Nothing too major I hope.I can't imagine it is cheap to fix any problems on that.
I watched most of the Poland /Switzerland match and now it is Wales and N Ireland.I must be turning into a footie fan lol
I have some nice Lamb Steaks for dinner with our own new potatoes.Carrots and Broccoli are the veg.Chris picked me some Mint to put in the pan with the potatoes and a sprig of Rosemary to stick in the frying pan with the Lamb.
The sun came out again after some showers and it is still nice.Haven't seen the forecast for tomorrow yet....Oh Oh I can see its raining !!,but the sun is still shining.

Cobwebs seem to taking over my house again !!!.Horrible things.I have been swinging the cobweb brush but some are so stubborn and are difficult to get off the walls.
Chris is going to paint the main bathroom next month. Most of it tiled so it isn't a massive job,but I am having trouble trying to think of a colour. The tiles are Black and White.Any ideas????

Afternoon All,

Happy Birthday to Lacey and William! I bet Lacey will love those flashing lights Mandy and did you give a box of elastoplast to go with the skates? :-) My word no wonder you said Max would be heavy to carry....he's certainly a growing boy!! It must be lovely to be able to see the weddings from near where you are and see the changing styles of brides dresses. That cerise colour was one of my favourites when I was a young girl.

No, OH didn't have to take me to beading class as it's finished till the end of September now. I signed up for the next one yesterday as you get a 20% discount for signing up early. I noticed there were no fused glass workshops coming up, but there is a stained glass one day workshop which is something else I have always wanted to try so I'm having a think about it.

I wonder if Thomas is planning his next escape!! That was lucky you tempted him with the chicken Jane. I had visions of you straddling next door's fence to chase after him.

Mel, I bet your OH was fed up with the digger not starting. Hopefully he will have got it going again now and have finished the job.

Don't overdo it Gill, and it's a good idea to take a rest with all the jobs you've been doing lately. I hope you aren't starting with a cold just as you want to get on with things.

Well, I have been OUT today! We went to Nuneaton to look at new specs for OH and I wanted to look at tops and bras. OH has had his prescription for new glasses for 9 months, but finds his old ones so comfy, it's hard finding replacements. He wants different ones, partly because he can't do without his current ones for 2 weeks while they put new lenses in and partly because I find he looks a bit fierce in them!! lol. Or maybe that's just when he looks at me!! Anyway, the rain pelted down on the way there and I was wishing I hadn't put sandals on, but it stopped by the time we arrived. Suffice to say we had no success with finding glasses for OH but I did find a nice top and some bras! I don't know about you other ladies but I always have trouble with bras and end up with different sizes according to where I get them from. Anyway, I was wearing a bra I'd bought previously from this shop but couldn't remember what size it was?? The changing rooms were full so OH suggested he have a quick look to save time. So there I was huddled in the corner among the nighties keeping lookout while he hitched the back of my top up to check. It was like a comedy sketch as he didn't know where to look for the size, it's not really what a man looks for in a bra is it! I just hope there weren't any security cameras in that corner or someone may see more than they expect to later!! :-0 At least I now have 3 new ones. :-)

OH is watching you know what now and I am doing a bit more of my painting.

What colour is the floor Jane and does the room get much light? I was going to suggest a pale grey or white or might that look a bit cold.

You're obviously going to have to watch Mr Thomas like a hawk.........seems he's healing well and feeling stronger now............it must be that mouse he had yesterday!

Jane

Jane Report 25 Jun 2016 18:58

Ann we will have to get a new carpet for the bathroom. It will probably be a beige kind of colour again. The bathroom is very light.Faces south and has clear glass in the windows(as we are not overlooked).WE have had a very pale green paint on the walls, but I was thinking of maybe having a bolder colour.I do think a pale grey would look quite nice though.

Glasses are such a pain to choose. He has had his prescription for quite a long time hasn't he !!He better find some soon before he needs another new Prescription lol
Chris's new specs look very nice.He has changed the shape this time.I pick my new ones up one the 1st.
As for Bras.I always get mine from M&S.I have been meaning to order a couple for the last few weeks.I know what I like and what fits well so tend to stick to the same every time.I can't wear under wire ones, they are just too uncomfortable and dig in under my arm pits.Gone are the days of glamour and sexy. Now it is just comfort :-)..Same with Pants LOL

Thomas is after my feet!!.I am sat about 2 foot out from the table with my feet tucked under my chair. He is under the table determined to 'get me' :-S..Might have to put my wellies on lol

Birthday tea was very nice little Lacey was doing well in her skates ,she had to use them inside as we've had more showers and it was to wet out.

Oh dear Mel i hope the digger is back up and running again now, was it the battery ?

I didn't know beading class had finished Ann ,the 20% off for next year is a good saving .
I bet the people watching on the security cameras were wondering what was going on in the corner ,you can bet they were watching , probably zooooomed in LOL
I like M&S bras but not tha padded ones ,i have enough padding of my own !!

Jane i was going to suggest a nice silvery grey paint too for your bathroom it would look nice with the black and white and you could add a splash of colour with the towels , i also like that duck egg colour too.

Yes Max is certainly growing ,at the moment he's chewing the ears off a winnie the pooh the children found out of thier toy box for him .

Digger going again and he finished what he was doing. He has already bought a new alternator for it and it did'nt last long and cost £280 so he dos'nt want to buy another one. He got it started with the mobile jump start thig he bought a little while ago but he had to charge that up a bit first.

Iv'e been up the border all afternoon and done some more digging and trying to get the blasted twitch out. I have two huge clumps of Nerines with twitch all in them. I suppose I shall have to dig the lot out and replant the bulbs. You only bury half the bulb so the sun can get to them and they need a south facing border which ours is. They were a picture when they flowered.

Glad the party went off well and Lacey was able to have a little go on her skates inside.

As to paint fo rthe bathroom Jane, I was thinking of a very pale yellow. I have my nan's bowl from a jug and bowl set (mum's mum) and that is black and white round the edge and the bowl bit but has this very pale yellow round the top in between the black and white and it looks really nice.

Gill you take it easy for a bit while Glyn is at work. You have been very busy lately so have a rest and take care.

I need some new bras too but think I need a larger size than I had the last two times. Whenever I go into Holsworthy I think shall I go in and try some and then can't be bothered to get all undressed and try this one and that one till you find one that suits.

Jane

Jane Report 25 Jun 2016 19:52

So two votes for a possible grey :-D.I think as long as it isn't too pale it would look fine.
Max is getting a hefty boy now Mandy. He will be what I call a solid Lab :-DPoor Winnie having his ears chewed off ! I'm glad Lacey enjoyed her new skates. She won't want to take them off now.
I must get on with dinner.I am all behind after having a long chat with Hannah ,her friend Caroline and Hannah's new man. They have obviously been out having fun today
:-D...The conversation was quite funny :-D......Hannah and Gareth are off to Italy first thing in the morning..I hope any hangovers will be gone by then :-D

Annx

Annx Report 25 Jun 2016 21:54

Max seems to like chewing ears.....now it's poor Winnie.....I suppose they are easy to get hold of! Yes, I bet everyone was keeping their feet out of Katie's way in her skates! She'll be wanting them on in the morning too I expect.........with her flashing sandals!! lol. :-)

I can't be doing with wired bras now either and so many have the padding Mandy mentions. I don't need any either unless I want to look like Dolly Parton. :-S I don't mind lacy pants, but not 'low slung' any more!! lol. Comfort is everything as Jane says, the same as with shoes. I sound like a right old biddy don't I. :-) lol.

You could always consider doing one of the bathroom walls a darker grey than the others Jane. I was thinking plain brightly coloured towels for contrast with it like Mandy. We ring the changes with the towel colour in our en suite where it is all white tiles and pale grey walls. The green you have is a nice cool colour for a south facing room too. Your nan's bowl sounds very nice Mel and if Jane picks that your bowl would be a nice addition to go with it. What does Janice suggest?? :-)

I'm off to bed now, it's been raining very heavily several times the past few hours. I hope Frank has better luck with his posts tomorrow.

I thought of two words today that you don't hear people say anymore. Something being a 'swizz' or a 'twist' if it's no good.

I'm here eating a big bowl of home grown strawberries. I did'nt think I could manage any after the huge steak we had tonight. I only had a few peas, onions a couple of chips and a small tomato, one mushroom and one onion ring and I was stuffed. We also had a nice bottle of red with it and now I have to berries. I think I shall have to save some for tomorrow.
