Good day everyone
Bright and sunny here at the moment,
Mel I do envy you being able to have a lie in, for the last two mornings Amy has wanted to get up urgently so I had no choice, both days at 6.45 am. She is over the forest with Richard at the moment so will be tired when she gets back.
Ann I had to smile when you had to hide out of sight so that your OH could tell you your bra size, like Jane, I buy all my underwear from M&S as I am sure of their fittings,
I was talking to a chap I know the other morning and he said when he was in Morrison's car park, next to his car was a hatchback with 3 small dogs and a turkey in the back, he asked the lady who was unpacking her shopping about it, apparently the turkey is a pet who thinks it's a dog.
Hope your feeling better today Gill it sounds as if you have been overdoing it again so you should spoil your self and have a day off now and again.
I'm just going to put the potatoes in the oven for roasting. the beef is cooking well and all the veg is done.
Hope everyone has a good day :-D :-D

Afternoon All,
I started to post when Conrad Skyped, after me having a chat I called Ros in from the garden. When she had finished her chat she closed everything down. So my posting went yet again. !!
I see I missed out on the Birthday cakes, belated good wishes to the birthday people.
ROI 1 France 0 Latest score.
I can just see you sitting at the table in Wellington Boots Jane. :-D :-D.
All this talk of ladies underwear is making me BLUSH ;-) ;-) ;-)
I have only skipped over your postings so missed a lot of what's been said.
Ros is in the garden, trimming the bushes. The hedge trimmer wouldn't work for her, so I had to check the fuses, then a repair from when next door borrowed it and cut through the cable. The wire had come out of the connector. So all up and working.
Funny sort of morning here again, very humid and looks like rain.
I walked down to watch the match yesterday afternoon. As I approached the pub, one of the lads came across the road and walk up to me and took my arm. Come on "OLD MAN" I will hold up the traffic and see you across the road. The pub roared with laughter when I walked in. Cheeky little Bu###r.
Usual Roast Beef today, with the trimmings. I bet it won't be as good as last weeks meal out, but I will do my best !!!
Going to sit and watch the match, see you later.

Afternoon all
Dull start to the day and it's just starting raining. I managed to get a little job done in the garden and was just bagging up all the rubbish when the rain arrived. So I'm indoors now for the rest of the day. I have a pair of trousers to alter for my mum and a pair for her friends brother, although they will have to wait as I don't have the right colour cotton so mum is going to get some on Tuesday. I'll have mum's finished today though.
I'm feeling better today, so you were probably right Jane about it being a spot of hay fever. I'm pleased it's not a cold as I'm hoping to do a bit more work in the garden tomorrow if the weather is nice.
I slept well last night and didn't wake up till gone 10am this morning which isn't like me at all. I must of needed the sleep :-)
It sounds like you were having a problem with Genes today Mel, hope you can post more later.
Also hope Frank can get on here too.
Well, I'd better get on with these trousers for mum, they won't do themselves.
See you all later.

Yes I laughed at that too and also the three dogs in the car with the turkey. I once had a duck that thought it was a rabbit when I had the pet shop in Colchester. His name was Francis and we inherited him when we bought the shop. We called him Sir Francis Drake. He lived in the run with a resident rabbit and Francis would nuzzle his ears and dribble in them so the rabbit was continually washing his ears. For the life of me I cannot remember the rabbits name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very senior moment.........

Evening All Well I have had a good old chuckle at the TURKEY in the car with the dogs :-D :-D.I have heard it all now lol And Frank poor old codger being helped across the road :-D :-D
My Friend in Plymouth has a Chicken that lives in the house most of the time with the cats.It even sits on the bed :-S.
Hannah's friend who is travelling in Spain for a year with her partner has come back here as her cousin aged 26 Hanged himself last week.He did it whilst he was looking after his young children :-( :-(...I am hearing this kind of this far too often these days.It is almost always young men . Anyway Sarah came round to see us earlier,so we sat and chatted and had a glass of wine on the patio. It was intersting to hear all about her travels in the Campervan with Sam the 13 yr old Staffie and Al her partner.Their next venture will be to Portugal .She does a blog which I like to follow. It was lovely to see her but sad it was under the awful circumstances .
Anne, Amy is good to wake you even if it is earlier than you would hope for.Better that than a wet bed.Is she ok now on that front? I think Thomas is getting more used to the harness ,even though he is not at all keen. His faces drops when he gets to the back door and then realises he has to have 'that thing' on.But as I put it on him he starts to purr :-D.Probably just because he knows he will have a bit of outdoors to come :-D.I have taken to carrying a stool around the garden when I take him out as he will sit or lie in one spot for ages.So I can sit down and read my kindle if I take it with me. :-D
Hannah and Gareth have arrived in Italy. They are staying at a place called Castiglione ,Lake Trasimeno.I think they are going ot visit Florence while they are there as it is just an hour away by train.
Beef Stroganoff with Wild and Long Grain Rice for us tonight.I have already cooked the Strog so it just needs heating up while the rice cooks.
Ann the word SWIZZ was a common one when I was young.I used it a lot. Probably now I have heard it again I might just add it to my vocabulary :-D :-D..I like the word. I also thought of words I haven't heard people say much these days 'HIS NIBS' :-D

I hear His Nibs down here Jane. I used to use the word Swizz too. Its a good word and should be used more.
I got some comments when I moved down here with two cats in a basket on the back seat of the car and a parrot in his cage on the front seat with the seat belt round him. Oh at that time had the chickens in the van.

i BET YOU CAN'T REMEMBER THAT FAR BACK jANE (sorry caps on) !!!!
Turned out a horrible evening, cold now and raining.
Ros has worked so hard in the garden today. It looks a treat. Tony came out to chat to her. She has had ago at him over all his weeds growing in our borders. He said he MUST try to do a bit in the garden JOKE. She also mentioned how bad Valerie is, and he should do something about seeing someone about her health. The nurse who gave me my injection on Friday has caught something in my BUM cheek. I have been in pain since she did it.
I am watching the match, 2nd half just started, so will say good night.

Afternoon all,
We've had a few heavy showers this morning , suns out now but there a few black clouds building.
So how have you hurt your wrist Frank ? Must be painful if you have it in a sling , hope it feels better soon with resting it if not you'll have to take a trip to see the doctor .
We're off later to the hospital ,i expect it will be a devil to park as its just the end of visiting time when we get there , i have decided when i go to visit hubby i will go on the park and ride ,so much easier as i will be dropped off right outside the hospital and won't have to think about parking .
Hows Thomas today Jane ? no more escaping adventures i hope .

Afternoon All,
I don't know Frank, that must be awkward having an arm out of use. Hopefully it will settle down now with some rest.
What a dance I've been led!!!! Having heard nothing from the hospital after 5 days I rang the surgery after lunch to check the referral had gone off. I was told that when the doctor rang the clinic they had said they would book me in for TODAY!!! The girl then started saying I must have been out when they rang, so I told her we had had no calls since last thursday and that I'd been at home except for the weekend. So she said she'd ring the clinic and get back to me. When she rang me back I was told the clinic was behind with calls and would ring me this afternoon. Well, the clinic rang me about half an hour later, didn't know anything about me being booked in for today, and so made arrangements for me to go in at 9.00am tomorrow for a full day of tests etc. Great, I thought, it's all sorted at last!!! :-) Ten minutes later another person phoned me from the same clinic to say they'd had to cancel my appointment for tomorrow as they had too many booked!! How can something be ok one minute, then not ok 10 minutes later? It makes you hope the 'medical' side of things is better than the 'admin' doesn't it! Now it's been booked for Wednesday.........well at the moment, that is!! :-S
