Just walked Max again and was saying to hubby that i noticed half a dead mouse on the walk this morning when blow me what did Max pick up ......the half a mouse !!
Went down whole before we could even get it out of his mouth , i think he's doing his bit while Thomas is out of action :-S

Try and keep calm Frank ,not easy i know when you have so much going round in your head .

Oh no not you too losing a post Jane so annoying isn't it .

Frank

Frank Report 3 Jul 2016 21:06

Oh Max, aren't they feeding you, as you have to go out and eat mices ;-) ;-) ;-)

I have got my sneezes 20 so far and still going.

Ros is watching her Jewellery programmes, while I sit in the conservatory watching football France 4-0 up at half time. So they are going through to the semi- finals.

What a lovely day we have had. The sky tonight has a cloud in the shape of a white feather with all the little bits going off the main stem.

I see Jane is trying to copy me !!!

Poor Ros, I called her in at 5.30 for dinner. I cleared all away after and put everything in the D.W. When I came back in the lounge she was asleep on the sofa. She must me worn out, but says, she loves her garden and loves being in the fresh air.

Lets hope tomorrow is fine again, as I must try to get my lawns cut AGAIN. This weather is making them grow so fast.

As soon as the football is finished I will be off to bed, I feel shattered.

Copy cat Jane losing your post like Frank.

Mandy the mouse won't hurt Max. I had a friend who used to have lab gun dogs and he said the best thing to clear a dog out was to give them a baby rabbit to eat. It is horrid to see them eating a mouse though.

I bet Ros was tired out after all that time in the garden Frank. Hope you have abetter nights sleep tonight.

Morning all,

We've had a shower of rain at some point either in the morning or last night as the grounds wet today. It is also grey sky and dull. We never seem to have two days alike lately do we?

Hope you all slept well. I did and did'nt even get up in the night. Thought I was going to have trouble sleeping after yesterdays nap but I did'nt so I must have needed it.

I'm feeling very lonely on here...........

IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?

Frank

Frank Report 4 Jul 2016 12:31

I'm Here !!!

Good afternoon my lovelies, How are you all this beautiful day ???

I watched the football last night France won 5-2 so meet Germany on Wednesday evening.

I did get a early night, but woke at 2.40 am and laid awake till after 4.00 am. Ros got up at 7.45 and asked if I wanted tea. No, I will try to get another hour. I dropped of till 9.35, so did me good.

I have cut both the lawns, and trimmed the edges. Ros has the worst job ever. She is sitting on her little seat, bent over weeding the gravel at the bottom of the garden. I have just ordered some very strong weed killer, it will be here Thursday. I will then treat the whole area, and hopefully kill all the weed and grass roots.

My neighbour Val is sitting on the back lawn having her lunch. I said "and what you got there". CORNFLAKES she said. Tony has a salad. and there is nothing else for me to eat. No wonder he goes out every night before 7.00 pm. He goes to the pub to have a meal. She doesn't cook, and I am not sure he is able too.

The clouds are starting to build up here now, so I think we can say goodbye to a sunny afternoon.

Cold pork, Jersey Royals, Runners, Broad beans, cabbage, peas abd carrots for dinner tonight. I will sit and pod the broad beans and peas while I watch the tele.

Had an email from my daughter this morning, she has only just opened her mail from last week.!!!! Said she's sorry to hear the news of Ted's passing.

There's a bloo#y Blue bottle flying around the lounge, so will get the fly killer and try to get him. That's the trouble having all the doors and windows open. :-| :-| :-| :-|

Keep you eyes on the weather if you have washing out !!!

Afternoon all

Beautiful sunny day here really hot in the sun , got the bed striped this morning so thats all out on the line , we must remember we have to pick Katie up from school this afternoon as mum and dad will be at sports day for the older two at least they have a nice day for it this year.

So you didn't have to bad a night last night then Frank you made up for laying awake in the early hours by having a lay in , you been busy getting your lawns cut , i see they have finally got round to cutting the grass in the churchyard , i don't think i have ever seen it so long, the weeds round the graves must have been two foot high !! , usually
it is cut every week but not lately .
It does sound as if Val needs help ,fancy having only cornflakes to eat , so if he eats out tonight she won't be having any thing to eat as theres nothing else in the house !!

Mel, i was just a bit worried that the mouse Max had might have been poisened ,but with the head missing it more likely it was a cat that had had a go at it.

Frank

Frank Report 4 Jul 2016 14:40

Well the drizzle has just started. I have been down to Ros to tell her nor to stay outside, and come in and do a bit of sewing, even better come and sit down for a rest. But she said she will carry on until it rains.

Had a nice prawn sarnie with seafood sauce for lunch. Ros won't eat while she is sitting bending over, as she would feel sick. !!!

Mandy you are lucky, on Anglia news it shows the further East you are, the better the weather. So you should get the washing dried before the rain reaches you.

While I was in the kitchen getting dinner ready for tonight. I heard a row coming from the lounge. A baby Starling had flown in through the conservatory up to the front window, and was trying to get out. I had to catch him and put him out again. He flew off as though nothing had happened. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I see it's very quite on here today, where are you all ???

Anne Report 4 Jul 2016 14:53

It was a very sunny day here until about an hour ago, now it looks like rain and has turned quite chilly.

Frank, what on earth is Val's husband like leaving her with nothing to eat while he feeds himself down at the pub, he sounds like a complete and utter bastard. [excuse my language] also why don't they have any food in the fridge or freezer or is it beyond his capabilities to get some shopping in ? Poor lady she must have been better off in hospital.

Beef bourguignon tonight I haven't decided what extra veg yet but as I don't eat the meat I must do enough of them.

A late Afternoon All from me.
I seem to have been on the go today. Not sure what doing though .Town this morning for some bits .Also I remembered to get cash out for London tomorrow. My train is at 12 so Hannah will meet me at 1 at St Pancras.

Frank,it seems to me as though Val needs to be assessed by professionals .She obviously isn't well and for there not to be any food in the house well that is disgraceful .What does that husband of hers do !!!! Other than make sure he is ok :-S.Maybe having those Wiltshire Farm Foods delivered would be a good idea.Poor woman can't live on Cornflakes.Who normally does the shopping?

It is very muggy and looks a bit like it might rain.I had the fan on in the bedroom last night........Frank I had a dream that you secretly married Ros !!!!!

I love a Beef Bouginion Anne.Especially the proper FRench ones.I had several when we were there in May.I am doing a Chicken Crown with Garlic and something.James will have that and the rest can be had cold.Chris and I are having Lightly Dusted Haddock fillets....just had a look to see what lighty dusted means lol Seasoned flour.
We will all have Rosemary Potato cubes, peas, broccoli and carrots.
Strawberries,Raspberries and Ice Cream for afters.

Mandy I hope Max doesn't get a liking for mice :-D :-D :-D. I take it he hasn't had an upset tum today.Thomas must be really missing his mice and rabbits. He sits in the window at the patio door with his eyes glued on the spot where he often sees mice LOL

The traffic noise from the A14 is really loud.It 's horrible .I am wondering if the plans go through for these houses over the back whether they might possibly mask the sound a bit.Now that would be a bonus.

That was a lucky little Sparrow Frank. At least it was unharmed. I keep finging bits of egg shells on the lawn :-(....Something is raiding the nests :-S :-S

Oh I rang the plumber again this morning. Apparently he has not been well and has been unable ot work.(still doesn't excuse him for not lletting us know or at least getting his wife to let us know) So the latest is he is coming om Wednesday .I did say he had to be here in time for us to go out for my Birthday Lunch. He promised he would be here by 11...Watch this space.

I don't know what happened with my post yesterday.Even Chris tried to retrieve it for me but it had gone completely. Now I have no idea what I had said on it.I know I was just in the middle of replying to Frank about the email to do with Hay Fever..
I did say Frank that looked a good idea but my Hayfever really isn't too bad.I just manage with the one a day antihistamine and eye drops. But thank you for sending it.

The oven is pinging.Need to take the foil of the chicken.

No Jane no upset tummy for Max but earlier he was laying under the garden bench and scraping about near the wall and i think he found some ants !!
He's just been for his walk and is laying beside me now but he keeps jumping as if some thing is biting him so i think he may have an ant on him some where ,i have brushed him but he's still jumping about .
Have a good time tomorrow with Hannah ,any clues as to what the surprise is ?

Still very muggy here ,it's been a really nice day and should be for the rest of the week tomorrow is Katie's sports day so i hope its not to hot .

Jane Report 4 Jul 2016 20:42

Sounds like Max has ants in his pants Mandy :-D.I'm sure he will find it if there is one mooching around in his hair.Thomas has done the same..Just hope it is'nt a flea. :-S
I am off now ,I think an early night is on the cards.I will have a good read in bed on the kindle.
See you all in the morning.

Evening All,

It's been lovely and mostly sunny here today with no rain so more washing done and dried.

Jane I am still wondering what the surprise is that your daughter has for your birthday. :-) Not taking you to the top of the Shard is she?? :-0 I hope you have a lovely day whatever is in store. My hayfever has been worse lately with one eye mostly running and the sniffles. It seems to have been worse travelling in the car, which seems odd when there is a pollen filter?

Oh Mandy, the little tinker snaffling up the cat's leftover mouse!! That nose of his seems to be into everything. lol. It's good the children have had a fine day for their sports day. I used to enjoy it, having all the races!

We went to an open garden near Market Harborough yesterday and a magnificent one it was too. A big old house that has been renovated including the garden with no expense spared. A beautiful walled garden, tree lined drive up to it and I saw what I think was an old ice house in the grounds. I will see if I can send a few pics.

Today OH went for his nerve conduction tests which were ok and subject to whether the MRI scan shows anything up, they think he has meralgia parasthetica which strangely is something I looked up and said it might be a couple of months ago! Hark at me Dr Ann!!! lol. :-) It won't need treatment if it is but extra weight won't help so we are both trying to lose some now.

I took old towels to the dogs home this morning and saw a lovely fawn greyhound there, looking so majestic lying with front paws crossed and ears neatly held back. Then I got my car washed with the Polish men in the village and then went to Grantham to the retail park. I came back with 3 new tops and was exhausted with achey back and knees by the time I'd tramped all round.

Oh poor Val Frank, having to make do with cornflakes while that husband of hers swans off to the pub and has a nice meal!! She does need taking care of doesn't she. As Jane says, she needs assessing really and some proper care putting in place. I hate it when you have to catch birds that have got in. Their little hearts pound so they must be terrified.

We are having trouble with the flies coming in this year too. I'm sure it's because of the cattle in the field at the back as we never got any when it was meadow. OH has sizzled a few with one of those zappers.

OH has been asked to give a talk in one of the jobs he does on a voluntary basis. Where I would be a nervous wreck, he is relishing it and rubbing his hands together in delight. :-)

Off to watch Brian Cox now that I recorded earlier.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 4 Jul 2016 23:19

I quite like a bowl of cornflakes in the evening. Poor Val I do think someone should be told about how Tony treats her and lets her get lost etc.

I waited for posts this morning and then got into clearing up the kitchen. Before I knew it it was lunch time and then I watched an old time team. Then went out in the garden. Oh did too he went up the top with the digger and piled up all the trees and branches he had cut down. Then he set fire to it. He got it going well even though it was all quite wet. I cleared some rubbish out the back room and he burnt that too.

Put some plants in the border and sug some buttercups out so there's another clear patch now. They are gradually meeting up all these little patches I dig.

SCREEN JUST WENT BLANK !!!!

Good morning to you all, evening Kim.

Jane I expect you will be off soon, have a nice day.

Ann, I will send you the email I sent Jane regarding HAY FEVER. It might help you.

Ros has put a line of washing out, before going out with Carolyn for a couple of hours. I had better keep my eye on the weather as the clouds are building.

Ros and I are thinking of asking the surgery to send some some one round to check on her.Our problem is who do we approach and how do we do it. Tony knows there is something wrong with her, but still does nothing about it.

I think I will send for the meal delivery service to her address. and see if she picks up on it. Knowing her she will bin it. !!!

I have overdone things in the garden, the bottom of my back is aching like mad.

I need to get showered and shaved, but will wait until Ros is home in case I have a fall.

Screen playing up so I will push off before the post does.

Frank

Frank Report 5 Jul 2016 13:24

Would you believe this. The clouds were getting quite heavy, so I went to check the washing. It was dry, so I folded it up, put it in the basket and came up onto the patio. Just at that moment Val came out with a basket of washing. She began to peg it out when she noticed me and said "I THINK IT'S GOING TO RAIN" so I replied why are you putting your washing out then. She just scratched her head, and continued to peg it out.

I managed to trip down the steps onto the lawn, ran to the bottom of the garden, before I could stop. No harm done, just a good shake up. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I managed to get showered and shaved and put clean u/wear and shorts on. Now going to sit and relax until Ros comes homes. She can get me my lunch.

SHE'S JUST WALKED IN. !!
