Afternoon all
Cloudy here today and we've just had some light rain too :-( I don't think we're having much of a summer this year.
Why are you having your electric off today Jane, sorry for asking I haven't had a chance to catch up with all the posts, so I'm a bit lost with what's going on with everyone. I was thinking you could watch the tennis on your pooter too.
Sorry to hear your hip hurts today Mel, maybe a warm bath might help. Do you have any Radox, that's good for aches and pains and smells nice too? :-) :-) <3
Nothing much planned for today. I found some pink twigs at a charity shop the other day so now have everything I need to make up Sandra's twinkle light arrangement I was going to make her a few months ago. The twigs were only £1 and Sandra's face lit up when she saw them. It's saved me a job of painting the twigs I collected from the garden and dried out. The pink twigs are much better too, although they are a bit to tall for the pink vase I bought, so I'm going to have to cut them down a bit so they're not top heavy and tip the vase over. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to attach the lights I've got to them though. I'm going to add the pink rose lights Mel got Sandra too, so it should look lovely for her.
Well, I've not long woken up, which is not like me at all. I must of needed the sleep, so I'm going to get myself another cuppa now. See you all later <3

Morning all JUST. Evening Kim,
Yes Jane we had a shower a short time ago. No sign of the Yellow thing.!!! It's not that warm either, I am in shorts, and just put a shirt on.
I got up again last night. Ros was late coming into bed 1.00 am. I hadn't slept from when I went to bed at 11.00 pm.I waited till she dropped off (it never takes long) I got up and watched T.V. till 4.00 am. I was awake by 7.30. I thought I would let Ros lie in. I got up and made my COT. The next I knew was Ros calling out IT'S 9 15 am and I have to be at Stitchery Do by 10.00. So panic all round. She went off just before 10.00 so wasn't late in the end.
All my Christmas's have come at once today. I have had the new mattress, Duvet, Mattress cover and Two Memory pillows. The Mattress is in a box about 5 foot tall and 12 inches square. When you open the box. The mattress expands to a double bed size . I haven't opened it, as I will need help getting the old mattress off the bed. I will have to stand that somewhere while we try out the new one, if we are not happy with it, we have 60 days to return it, and get a full refund.
For .some reason when i click the Enter key, the print on the screen goes smaller and smaller. I have also noticed that when I press the space bar, the cursor jumps back into the previous paragraph.. Any Ideas why this is happening ???
You will have to try to rest your hip Mel. It's all this gardening you are doing that makes it ache.
Well there will be no gardening from me today, unless I want to do it under an umbrella, It's as black as your hat out there.
Have a good afternoon girls. See you later.

If the router is on I will watch the Tennis on the laptop.Fingers crossed I can. Gill there is work going on on the overhead cables nearby.I think power off is going to cover quite a large area.Even Fitz's leecy is going off . Golly you did sleep in this morning!.Thats unusual for you.I think the pink twigs will look great with the twinkly lights on.Hope you can work out how to get them attached. There will be some way or other.
Mel I find a nice bath helps my hip .I think that is a good idea of Gills. It might just help ease yours.
We have had quite a bit of that horrible heavy but fine rain .The stuff that really soaks you.I think it might be clearing away now which is what I want as I have a load of shirts waiting to go on the line. I think it is time for some lunch now.I'm Hank Marvin :-)

Replaced the batteries in my mouse and broke it. Knocked the connecter into the mouse and had to fish it out. Got there in the end and managed to get the battery in without pushing the connector down. So here I am.
Its come over cloudy and oh said it is going to rain in a min.
I went up the border to plant a delphium I bought on Tursday and got carried away weeding a bit more and pulling off the dead leaves on the bearded iris. Its not doing my hip any good bending over and my rubber gloves were running with water inside as its so hot I came down.

Gill you could always put some dry sand in the vase to make it a more steady base for the twigs and lights or marbles if you have any.
Postie has just been and I bet its all rubbish or bills.

Oh I see Jane, lets hope it's back on at 6pm and doesn't need to go off again anytime soon. You don't realise how many things rely on electricity until you don't have it, do you?
I've never come across that problem Frank so can't help, sorry. Hope someone can help you. So you've got your new mattress now? Good idea to wait for someone to help, you don't want to have another fall. Another good idea to keep hold of your old one until you know the new one suits you both. Sorry to hear you had another bad nights sleep, maybe the new mattress will help, if not, then maybe it's time to see your doctor to see if you can get any help there.
I've cut the twigs down so they look better in the vase now Mel, unfortunately you can see through the vase so I might spray paint it for Sandra as it doesn't look very nice with all the twigs and other things I've got being on show. The vase seems to be standing up okay, but once everything else is put in there it might be a bit heavy towards the back so putting in some sort of weight is a great idea....thanks ;-)
I think I'm going to have to buy some twigs with lights on as the lights I have aren't long enough to go over all the pink twigs, so I'm thinking of getting some cream ones when they are back in the shops, I've noticed they only seem to be on sale around Christmas time, but Sandra will have the arrangement and of course the pink rose lights for now, so she's happy. Then I can add the other twigs when I've bought them for her.
You are like me Mel, I go in the garden with full intentions of only doing one job and then before you know it you've done lots more. Hope your hip isn't giving you to much trouble after all your hard work.
I meant to say Mandy, the Cana Lily is getting really big now, so big that I've had to re-pot it, so now it's in the greenhouse being hardened off before it goes outside. I will plant it in the garden once I know where I'm going to put it. I have a flat dish that I have stood it in at the moment so it doesn't dry out and it's seems happy enough.
I bought some white plants the other week as I'd like to have a part of my garden just in white, Monty Don did it on Gardeners World a few years back and it looks lovely now, so I fancy doing the same. One of the plants, a Lupin, started looking a bit sorry for itself, so I've re-potted that today and stood it in another flat dish I had as they don't like to dry out, I notice if they don't get enough water they get mould on their leaves. The Lupin is starting to look much better and is even getting another flower. I kept it watered since I bought it even though it's been raining and stood it in a smaller dish but the water kept running out so hopefully standing it in a bigger dish will help and I won't need to water it so often.
I meant to ask Mandy, do you think the Cana Lily will have flowers this year, or will it be next year with growing it from seed? It's got five leaves on it so far and is about 8 inches tall, it would be nice if it did flower <3

Evening all,
It's been a lovely day here with lots of sun but now it's clouded over and we've had a few big drops of rain.
Jane what a lovely day you had with Hannah and lots of posh nosh :-D i wondered if it was going to be some thing like an afternoon tea some where posh :-D Hope your leccy is soon restored ,you do don't half miss it when it's not on .
Frank i now have a vision of you opening up the box with the new mattress in and it pining you against the bedroom wall with the force !! :-0
Thats a good idea to weight the vase down Gill ,it sounds as if its going to look really pretty when its finished. I carn't really say if the Cana will flower this year Gill as I only got my plant last year so this was the first lot of seeds from it , i shall have to have a good look at my plants that I've grown from the seed , i had to put the pot out of Max's way out in the front garden ,they have grown quite tall but i haven't looked close enough to see if there is any budding , i hope you get flowers Gill.
Tomorrow is little Laceys sports day so we're going over in the morning to watch and cheer her on bless her, looks like it might be raining though .

:-D :-D Mandy I had the same vision with the mattress LOL .You beat me to it.I could see it going BOING and knocking Frank out !!! Hopefully Frank once you get it on the bed and with the new pillows you will get some good nights sleep again. It can't do you any good sitting up half the night watching TV.
You have been lucky getting sun today Mandy. We haven't had any :-S.Tomorrow looks like rain in the morning .I do hope it holds off for Lacey's Sports Day.
Well the leccy wasn't off for that long in the endand I managed to see most of the ladies tennis. It didn't go off until 3.40.I think maybe they waited until the local school had finished for the day. Plumber hasn't been again :-| :-|.He said yesterday he would be here sometime this afternoon.
Mandy ,it really was a lovely day on Tuesday .That restaurant was brilliant. The film funny and meeting Gareth was the icing on the cake for me :-D.It just seems so weird that he knows my Nephew (my Sisters son) and also his friends who I know.I even know his family house. It is a lovely thatched place just very near to where Janice and Larry used to live. What a small world.
Oh these spiders and their invisible webs are doing my head in !!!!!!!.They are hanging everywhere !!!!!!!I don't think I have ever had so many.Is everyone else having trouble with them ?
I have had a blurry eye ,twitchy and numb bottom lip today. That is doing my head in too :-S also a bit wobbly balance wise.I am guessing it is to do with this Ocular Migraine thing.I hope it goes by tomorrow as we are going out for lunch .Even though no-one would notice the twitchy lip I feel it is really obvious. The tip and side of my tongue too feel a bit tingly. James is late home this evening.I think they must be doing as much as possible today as tomorrow he is off the to the Races at Newmarket with the boss. She has a horse running. That is one thing I would hate.I always worry about the horses falling and dying or having to be put down. :-(

Lucky James, I used to love going to Newbury Races years ago. There can be accidents of course, but mostly there aren't! I get much more upset at the treatment of farm animals particularly things like the immensely cruel production of foisgras, and veal neither of which I would touch, and factory farming generally, particularly pigs; Thats why I would never buy meat from the Supermarkets. Not a bad day here. Lots of weeding and games with Cas, she is like the wind careering up and down our paddock!

Son just rang Lewis has been in the wars !! Son had to take him to the doctors ,he head butted the corner of the fish tank , split his head open so he's now Steri striped up, normally he carn't get close to the fish tank but son has a new sofa coming tomorrow so the old one had been taken out ready and that left the fish tank in the corner and Lewis ran into it . I think he is going to be just like his brother Jake he was always getting bumps and bruises . Jake has his leavers school disco tonight ,so he's gone all dressed up then tomorrow he's off to Wells for the day with the school.
So you have met the new boyfriend now then Jane , next step getting dads approval :-)

Evening All,
Oh Frank.....a jack in the box mattress!! :-D Stand well back!!!
You had some nice things for your birthday Jane and Chris did well to get you earrings you liked. I don't think I would have liked being 28 floors up in a building. I was on the 5th floor in the last office I worked in in the city and that was bad enough. The swans would fly past to get to the river on a level with our windows which was nice, but whenever there was a fire drill, 5 flights of stairs to go down and then back up again. :-S Not nice sitting near the windows in a thunderstorm either.
Oh poor Lewis Mandy! I bet that hurt and gave the fish a shock too. I hope he leaves the dressings alone! One of my nephews was like that, always getting bumps and bruises. He would stand on the back of the settee as soon as he was able to get up there and just throw himself into the air!! lol.
Gill, your lit twig feature for Sandra sounds very nice anyway. When I had hazel twigs in the conservatory I put gravel in the bottom of the pot to give it some weight. When I set out our garden here the first time I decided that, as it was a sun trap, I'd make it a HOT looking garden and had brightly coloured Dahlias, Cannas, Verbascum etc, in yellow, red, pink and purple, but nothing white or blue. The trouble was it was TOO HOT looking with the golden gravel and no lawn and I'd swelter every time I was outside in it. This time when we changed it, I included some blue and some white and evergreen shrubs and it's cooled it down a bit. :-) It is fun when you can start doing the planting and you will enjoy that. :-)
It's been sunny here today and no rain which is good as I got my car washed yesterday. Which reminds me, while I was down the road at the supermarket last night, I parked to one side where there weren't many other cars and sat thumbing through a magazine I had in the car to see if I'd read it all and could throw it away when I got home. I had the windows partly down as it was hot and I suddenly heard a voice say 'Excuse me Ma'am. (yes,he said Ma'am!). I turned and a young teenage Sikh boy carried on to say, 'I just wanted to tell you that I love your car'. :-) 'Thank you and so do I' I said and then answered some questions he asked about it. 'It's really lovely' he said as he walked off. Wasn't that a nice thing to do and so polite too.

Wasn't that nice of the teenager to comment on your car like that Ann, it's not very often youngsters of today have good manners, I bet his parents are so proud.
Your garden sounds lovely. I'm looking forward to the planting in our garden, I must have over 200 pot plants now, some are almost 5 foot tall and I have a bamboo which is about 10 foot, although I can't remember if that was a clump one or a spreading one so that will stay in it's pot. I love bamboo's but wouldn't want it to take over my garden if it spreads. I also have a smaller bamboo about 4 to 5 foot tall. I went to see my mum's friends garden the other day and that is full of some lovely plants and he must have about 6 different water features dotted about and a couple of bridges, there's something new to see at every turn, although I think he has to many plants for his small plot as it was difficult in some areas to walk around. He kindly gave me a plant which was nice of him as I've never met him before, he and his wife are a lovely couple and I also met their three dogs. I was a bit nervous at meeting the dogs at first, I have a fear of dogs as I was bitten when I was three, but they were so cute. They have three poodles and they were so affectionate.
Sorry to hear about little Lewis Mandy, hope he's okay now with no after effects. Hope Jake enjoyed his disco and has a nice day out tomorrow in Wells. Let's hope the weather is nice for him. Yes it would be nice to know if your Cana's have flowers. I'll let you know if mine flowers or not, it's still quite small as you said they grow to around 6 foot tall so maybe when it's a bit bigger I might strike lucky and see a flower or two this year.
So you're still waiting for the plumber then Jane, what is it he's coming for? Hope it's nothing to serious with him keeping you waiting like this. So your electricity wasn't off to long then, it's good that you got to watch some of the tennis, can you catch up with the bit you missed on your pooter? Sorry to hear you're feeling out of sorts today, hope you feel better tomorrow.
How is your hip now Mel, hope it's starting to feel a bit better <3
It sounds like you and Cas have had fun playing games Liz, it's lovely to see animals enjoying themselves isn't it?
Have you sorted your mattress out yet Frank? With a bit of luck you'll have a lovely nights sleep on it tonight.
I'm getting a bit tired now so I think I'll get off to bed. Sweet Dreams Everyone Night Night.

Visions of Frank getting the mattress out of its box made me laugh but what happens if it dos'nt suit and you have to get it back IN the box?
Mandy my Canna seeds did'nt grow at all and yesterday I dug them up to see if anything had grown and they were all rotton.
I hav'nt had a salmon sandwich for ages so I think I may have one for tomorrows lunch if I have a tin in the cupboard thats not too big. Oh dos'nt really like tinned salmon but I don't like smoked salmon or fresh salmon.
I bought a lovely white lupin but it did'nt do well in my border and was dead the next year.
We've had a little rain this evening. Its been threatening since this afternoon and the washing came back in at one time but went out again.
Hip still sore so I hope it is better tomorrow.
We had a phone call this afternoon about solar panels and how to make them more efficient and a mans calling tomorrow at 2pm to have a look at ours. The man who rang talked so fast I could'nt undersstand what he was saying at first. After a while I put him on to oh and he arranged the visit.
Off now so see you all in the morning.

Morning you lot !! Evening Kim.
Well I didn't get flattened against the wall with the new mattress. ;-) ;-) ;-It what a job. We have the old mattress standing against the wardrobe, how the hell we will get that out into the lounge I don't know. The box was laid on the bed and opened. It was vacuum wrapped, and had to be opened vary carefully. It is now in situ expanding to it's full size. The topper has been put on. As we already have memory pillows, the new ones can be put away.
We are both complaining about our backs at the moment. Ros is in the shower and I will go in after her. We will then tackle the mattress again. !!!!!
Dark clouds overhead,so it looks like it's going to be like yesterday.
Sorry for little Lewis Mandy, Accidents do happen, thank goodness it was no worst.
With the mattress were £55.00 off voucher for a case of Laithwaite's Wine selection and a £25.00 voucher for three meals from GOUSTO FOODS. This is the company that supply to menu and you just have to cook the food. I might give that to Val next door
;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Shower is empty, so I will go and freshen up
