We had such a down pour this afternoon just as the children came out of school ,DIL and the children got drenched .

Oh Anne i did that recipe last week ,we loved it ,the only thing i did was i cooked it a little early as i wanted to take some for my son to try so by the time we had ours the pasta had soaked up a lot of the sauce , i think next time i will add a little more chopped toms and leave out just a little pasta so its not so dry.

I wonder what caught fire Mel ,don't suppose you'll ever know .

How did Thomas fair at the vets ,hope he was a good boy like last time .

Evening All
Sorry I haven't read the posts yet for today but I did see the results were good for Ian Liz.What a relief :-D.

It has been all go here today one way or another. Thomas was so good at the Vets.He was almost standing on his head when the vet lifted up his back legs and gave them a good wiggling around. The vet is really pleased with his progress, but I still have to keep him on the harness for another 3 weeks!!!!He will go in again in 2 weeks for X-rays just to make sure everything is good bone wise.

The Plumber has been and gone.He got here about 5pm and was here for about 30 mins.Chris and Fitz have gone off to a council meeting about the new housing development......and it is RAINING :-S

What night we had last night. There was an Owl(or 2) just below our bedroom window .The noise was awful. Not the nice Hooting but more of a high pitched squawk .It went on for hours.I was up and down to the window like a YoYo .I did get a recording of the noise.
MEL I have sent you an email of it hoping you might know what kind of Owl it is.I think it might be Barn Owls. Chris had to go for a couple of hours sleep this afternoon .I wondered it it it may have been a young Owl ..Our wooden Patio table was covered in Splatters of white poo :-S :-S
I might sleep in the front bedroom tonight :-D

I will read all the posts after dinner.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our ANN today <3 <3 <3.I know she won't see her Birthday wishes as there is no WiFi where she is staying. The weather doesn't look like it have been too good there today, but I'm sure she will have had a lovely day.

Morning all,

Bright then dull with a smattering of tiny rain drops in the air then bright again. Thats what its like this morning down here....

My baby Blue Tits are queing up on the feeder for breakfast so I had to pop out and give them a bag of nuts as well as their fat balls.

Afternoon all,

Bright here but cloudy and the odd one or two are so black so i think we will be in for a shower at some point .

I have been sorting out my small chest freezer this morning it needs a good clean out so i have put the bits i had in there into the bigger freezer and turned the little one off then i can give it a good clean and move it to another spot in the shed.

Glad to hear Thomas was good at the vets yesterday ,so only three more weeks and he should have his freedom back ,he'll be back hunting again no doubt .
Hope you had a quieter night with no noisy birds keeping you awake .

Oh Mel i bet it's lovely watching the little blue tits in the garden.

Yes Mandy and Great Tits too. The little siskins come to the sunflower heart feeder and squabble away between themselves.

Frank

Frank Report 13 Jul 2016 16:03

Afternoon all,

Very quiet on here today. I couldn't get the internet all morning, something wrong somewhere.

Well the bed wasn't a success as we thought. Neither of us could sleep last night, so it was decided we would go back to the old mattress.

I rang the company and told them. That's unusual said the chap on the other end, but that will be perfectly alright. Would you like us to collect, the cost would be £35.00. No thanks said I.That sounds very expensive . I got on line at 12.30 pm and started to look at couriers costs. I got it collected at 2.30 pm by TNT for £12.50 I paid an extra £5.00 for insurance to the value of the mattress. They only gave £50.00 cover.

Ros naturally had to change the bedding (only did it Monday) So all clean sheets and pillow cases for tonight,

She has got the sheets etc all washed and dried, together with a coloureds wash. So another basket of ironing for her.

Mandy I MUST sort out our freezer in the garage. Not to defrost it, but to sort out all the bits and pieces that we will never eat. and broken seals on the meat and fish that no doubt have freezer burns. ;-) ;-) ;-)

We have had showers here today, and it's very cloudy now.

Jan's daughter Jo rang last night, she is bringing JJ up Saturday evening. She hopes to stay the night with her Sister at Weldon (Corby) if not her and Ella will sty here for the night and go home Sunday. We are both looking forward to having him. As is Tracy next door, as she will walk him with her little dog.

The screen is on the move again so I will post this and come back later.

Anne Report 13 Jul 2016 16:31

Good afternoon everyone

Frank what a shame you had to return the mattress, it's is fortunate you still had the old one to go back to.

Jane pleased to hear young Thomas was a good boy at the vets and they were pleased with how he's getting on. Three weeks will seem a long time to him.

Our Wi-Fi has gone on the blink at the moment so I am using the upstairs computer which is on a different network.

Not a lot happening at the moment the chiropodist has just left and I'm just about to start cooking dinner. The weather is still not good for the time of year although it hasn't rained so much today but quite chilly.

Frank

Frank Report 13 Jul 2016 17:14

Anne, After both of us having a bad nights sleep, we talked over about the thickness of the mattress compared to the old one (it's not that old anyway) and it just didn't seem right. The good thing out of it is that we have two Memory foam pillows, a mattress cover and a Summer duvet for less than £20.00 as most came free !!!

I don't know what I have touched, but, the tips of my fingers are itching like mad. I have scrubbed my hands, but still they itch.!!!!

Ros has called in to see Valerie while going for the repeats. (the Doctors were closed) She has told Ros, that our friend Roger's ex wife has passed away, only in her mid 60s, It appears it was DRINK RELATED.

Ros has just broken her sewing machine needle so I had better sort that out.

Afternoon All
Oh Frank, what a shame about the mattress.I thought it was fine .Thank goodness you weren't too hasty in getting rid of your old one. Will you have another look for a new one.

Mel I love the little Baby Blue Tits. They are so funny.I think our babies have grown quite a bit now.

Mandy I bet it feels good to have sorted your freezer.I don't have any chest freezer .I have a big upright one in the garage and a Fridge Freezer off the kitchen.
I have been doing the insides of some of my windows today. The rest will have to wait their turn :-)
My hips and thumbs have been painful today.Ouch :-S :-S..It was a bit of an effort just now to mash the potatoes.
Haircut for me tomorrow afternoon.I doesn't need much off really as this appointment is a week and a half early as my hairdresser is going on holiday .Fitz is coming up for lunch at 12.I have told him it will be a short lunch and that I won't be drinking as i will have to drive. He can have as much as he wants lol (which he will do doubt do :-D)

Anne 3 weeks more on the harness is going to drag.(Chris has just taken him out on it for a mosey).I know I will be freaking out once I do let him go as I am sure he will be straight off.I had to pull him back from going under the hedge this morning.I can't see him being able to jump fences or walls for quite a while though as he has a fair bit of muscle waste on that hind leg and also his balance whe turning or twisting is not good.
I would like to think he would stay in our garden but just know there will be a gap in a fence or somewhere where he can get through.

I think Ann might have had a nice day weatherwise today.I know she was hoping to go to visit a lovely garden (can't think of the name). It's been good here today. The last of the first peas have been picked.More to come :-D

Chris is going to another Art Fair tomorrow at Water Perry near Oxford.I have been twice and it is a really lovely fair but I don't want to go again.

So Teresa May is now officially the New Prime Minister. GIRL POWER :-D

Frank

Frank Report 13 Jul 2016 18:54

Jane Report 13 Jul 2016 19:24

LOL Frank..Hold your tongue :-D :-D......I think we must have all had enough of Politics now.I know I have .
Sorry to hear of your friends ex wife's death.Gosh she was young :-(
How are your itchy fingers now? Have you got some anti histamine cream or tablets?

Just going to have dinner now.I don't feel that hungry really.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 13 Jul 2016 22:44

sorry to hear about your friend's X Frank and as Jane said she was quite young really.

I have been very busy today. I did washing then tidied the uti room a bit and did soe ironing. Tidied the spare room better today as they are coming to do the scaffolding soon for the refurb on th esolar panels which will be done on 1st Aug. we will see...

Dusted throughand did a bit of pottering in the garden after washing all the bowls for the hogs. Broke one of my water things for the bantams today washing it. Popped it in the sink and kncked off one of the four legs you stand the top on to fill it. It happened to another one I had so I am glad I bought a new one a couple of weeks ago but I am using that one in the big girls house over night. I shall have to buy another one. At least they are not that expensive. Only just over a fiver.

I forgot I had the ark all open this evening and did'nt get dinner till quite late and whne I looked out the window there were hogs in the garden looking at empty bowls and wondering why the ark was open and nothing in there to eat or drink. All done now and I am sure they will be back.

Well I am going to say night night now as I want to get to bed earlier again tonight. Went at one oclock last night!!

Morning all,

Last in first out as they say or something like that but you know wjhat I mean.

Its a beautiful day today and I slept in too. I get cross when he lets me sleep when the suns out. I wonder why it is that you can get so much more done when the sun shines? It can't just be that the sun shows the dirt up on furniture and windows. Talking of windows I think thats a job for today. The outsides which I hate doing cos I am not tall enough.

Frank

Frank Report 14 Jul 2016 11:36

Morning Mel and all Evening Kim.

Bit of blue sky out there this morning so better than yesterday.!!

Ros has been ironing this morning and is just putting things away.

I had a call from the Hospital this morning asking me to be there for 1.3
0 pm to see the Physio. before seeing the nurses. at 2.00 for my pre-op. assessment.. We will then go on somewhere for a meal, that will save cooking tonight.

Even though we have given Lewis money for his car, for his 18th Ros still thinks we should get him something else.So we are getting him a SAT. NAV. It's jusr deciding which one to get. I think the TOM TOM is as good as any.

We are also looking at buying Harvey a Driving Experience at Silverstone for his 50th Birthday next month. MORE EXPENSE !!!

Poor old hogs not being fed on time. !!! that will never do.
<3 <3

I'm off to get showered and shaved and poshed up, for my visit to the nurses. (JUST MY LUCK THEY WILL BE MALE) lol lol <3 <3

Afternoon all

Sunny here today but a bit cloudy with it and quite a breeze to, so not very warm.

I'm starting to feel a bit better now, although the dreaded headache is back :-( so I'm having another relaxing day today. Hope I feel better by Sunday as it's OH's birthday, he's the big 50.

I haven't read any of the posts yet, will catch up later. Hope all is well with everyone <3

That was nice of you Mandy to take the young man a hot meal, I bet he was really grateful. It's the type of thing I would of done. It does make you wonder how people end up homeless, but I suppose it could happen to anyone. Pity there isn't any soup kitchens in your area he could go to.

I'm not sure how much the patio will cost to be re-laid Frank, I rang the fella who did my mum's garden, he's away till Sunday so said he'd ring me when he gets back, he needs to see the area before he can give me a quote. I hope it's not to expensive but with the flag stones being so big they are a bit to heavy to lift. The other patio we are hoping to lay will be smaller flag stones so we'll probably be able to manage that one. We still need to do a bit more framework further down the garden and buy the screening and put up, so plenty to keep us busy. OH has a week off work next week so we're hoping to get it all finished if the weather is kind to us.
Sorry to hear your new mattress wasn't up to par, good job you kept your old one. How nice to see JJ again, I bet you can't wait? Hope all goes well at the hospital today.

Glad to hear all went well for Thomas at the vets Jane, not long now before he can go out alone again. Hopefully when he does go out he won't get himself into trouble again.

How lovely Mel, to have baby blue tits to feed, you do get a lot of wildlife don't you?
Fancy forgetting to feed the hogs, I'm sure they'll forgive you :-D We've had a few hogs in our garden, which is nice to see and Rosie has started coming back now we're not in the garden so much making noise with the drill. We have a very noisy blackbird, I think he's trying to tell us to keep away from his nest, which I assume is close by.

Still got this headache, so I'm going to take something for it now I've eaten.
See you all later

Gill have you had your eyes tested lately as you do seem to be getting a lot of headaches and this could be the trouble.

Now what did I do this morning. Two lots of washing, well one was done over night, the boil waash so that went out first thing and as its towels they are ry now. The second was the bathroom mats and they are nearly dry now.

Cut the box ball into shape and now I have to clear up the mess I made there and then I am going up the border.

magpie Report 14 Jul 2016 15:43

Load of the washing done here too Mel, towels, duvet cover and other bits and bob's. All dry now, folded and put away! I haven't used a boil wash since my two were in nappies! I never wash above 40 degrees, and mostly use 30! but then I don't want cotton any more so now all our things are 'easy care' even towels, and boiling would ruin them.
OH has just fitted a sprayer onto the back of his ride on mower! It should save hours of back breaking work, so a gold star for him!

Liz oh bought a big sprayer and fixed it to an old trailer and its great. As you say saves a lot of time and effort.

Been sweeping outside.
