Morning my lovelies Evening Kim, Well I was at the Drs. by 9.45. We had a good chat about my symptom's and he is sure I have nerves trapped in the spine. As you age this is something that can happen. There is nothing he can do at the moment because of my operation on Saturday. But as soon as I m home a feel well enough he will arrange for an MRI to be done, and take it from there. In the meantime thy not to make sudden movements.
You certainly had a nice day out yesterday Ann, you do find a lot of interesting places to visit.
Thanks for the reminder Mel. Bins to go out ready for tomorrow. I am taking the liberty to put out a pair of old plastic chairs and a split water barrel. I won'y know if they will take them until I get the empty bins in later in the morning.
Mel, I did hear years ago, that if you find a eaten egg, you could mix strong mustard and put it in the shell. That is a good way to stop them eating eggs.
Much more pleasant out this morning. I decided to walk to the Doctors, there was a nice cool breeze blowing, as it still is.
JJ is being wonderful, he is so lovable, and is always following us around. If you get up from your chair he is straight into it, and you have a job to get him out.
Our old policeman mas D V T in his leg and has been taken into hospital. and a neighbour down the road who has not been well was taken off in an Ambulance this morning. So it's all happening around here.

I had a phone call from someone I hav'nt spoken to for years and years. When I was very young we went on holiday to Torquay I think and mum and dad made friends with a couple with a son older than me and a daughter younger than me. They stayed friends for years and us children grew up together. Ron and Joan lived in in Wanstead in some flats and I loved going to tea there and we would sit in the window and be given a piece of paper each with a couple of colours on. Every time we saw a car in that colour we marked iit down on the paper and after a while Uncle Ron would see who had won. They moved later on to Hornchurch and bought a nice new house there which I think back on to a school as I remember there being very high chain link fencing at the bottom of the garden.
Well today I had a call from the middle child Jane who was asking after mother. Her mother , Aunty Joan is now 94 and still living in the house in Hornchurch. It was nice to reminis with Jane who now has 4 grandsons and another grandchild on the way.
Apart from that I have nothing out for dinner but I did do a lot of ironing this morning.
No more broken eggs so far and I have had 2 eggs today. Just going to give them some corn so I may have more eggs yet.
A trapped nerve is a nasty thing Frank. I hope they can do something after your op. Is it really this Saturday you go in?? that seems to have come around quickly.

Afternoon Everyone
Frank I did wonder if it was trapped nerves. That is nasty .You will have to be really careful and take things easy and gentle.Shame you will have to wait now for the MRI. Are you all geared up now for Saturday? What time do you have to be in? I can't remember which hospital you said you were going to .Was it Three Shires?
How long have you got JJ for? You will miss him when he goes won't you.
Mel that was a lovely surprise to get that phone call :-D Lots of news to catch up on :-)
Hannah has been working all day but has now gone off to the Gym.She gave me a recipe for a Chicken Pie(healthy one !! ) so I have done it.It has Filo Pastry instead of the other kind.James will be a bit miffed dinner isn't ready when he gets in lol.But I don't want to put the pie in until about 6.30.I have part cooked it but it just needs the pastry going on top and then going in hte oven for about 20 mins.I can put the Baby Carrots,Baby Courgettes and Asparagus in the oven at the same time.I have chucked some of our peas in the pie.
So tomorrow morning it is off to the vets for 8.50.Poor Thomas .I think he has had his fair share of trips to the vets and being sedated. He will have another bit of fur shaved off one of his legs again :-(..Just as it is growing back nicely. I was watching him walk earlier and although he looks like he walks well I can see he doesn't put all his full weight on the back leg yet.I suppose it is that the muscles still need to get stronger.
I need to plug this laptop in as I see the batttery is almost flat.

Evening all,
Much better day here heat wise ,well outside that is , but indoors it's still very muggy ,we've had the fan going all day.
Oh dear Frank if it is a trapped nerve that could well explain all the sharp shooting pains your getting .
Poor little Thomas i hope he gets a good report from the vet tomorrow ,he must be champing at the bit to get hunting again . Nice to have Hannah home for a few days Jane .
That must have been a nice surprise to hear from your friend and have a good catch up on all the news Mel.

Good evening all
Poor you Frank, a trapped nerve it's no wonder you have been in so much pain. You must take it easy and enjoy JJ s' company do you have any photo's of him?
Ann, I loved your painting of the boat and the sand dunes you are very talented. What medium did you paint it in?
Jane I do hope Thomas has good results tomorrow, it must be nice to have Hannah home for the week with you.
It's still very warm here but I have managed to get out in the garden and do some cutting back and yet more weeding and walk Amy of course.
Mark and Martina and their two children, they are our next door neighbours have gone to Slovakia for the next 5 weeks to visit Martina's parents, they do this every year.
Mel it was a nice surprise hearing from an old friend and catching up on all the news. Hope your girls have behaved themselves today

Evening All,
I bet Max loves his walks Mandy! It would be nice to see another pic of him when you get chance as he must be quite big now.
That's good the doc was able to identify what's causing the pain Frank. Nerve pain is awful and sharp so no wonder you yelp! Your operation has come round quickly so once that is done and out of the way they can get the MRI scan done as you say. I hope the bin men were good and took the plastic chairs and bin away.
Mel, I bet that was a surprise to get that call and catch up with the news! More interesting than doing jobs too! There's always tomorrow as they say. :-)
After dropping my prescription at the docs we went to Rugby to look at the new retail park there. I was cross with myself for not taking my camera as OH wanted to come and we went in his car and I could have got a photo of the island with the Kipling cup cake display on it on the way. Maybe another time. The retail park is very swish with loads of parking and has stores I like including Home Sense. We found a nice tall plastic garden pot there, half price that will be ideal for me to put a poor little feathery leafed Acer in that is being crushed by bigger shrubs in the garden. Being lightweight, when it is about to shed it's leaves in the autumn OH can move it off the gravel and onto the flower beds. I got 2 nice thin tops and on the way home we called in the factory shop at Lutterworth and OH found himself 2 shirts he liked so he was pleased with those.

Morning all,
Not so nice today grey skies and a little rain that horrid fine stuff that is neither rain nor mist.
Donkey day again. They seem to come around so quickly I can't believe we have eaten that lot in a week.
Frank you have JJ for a nice long time. You won't want to give him back. Never heard of Home Sense but then I never really go to big shopping towns like Barnstaple or Okehampton if you can call Okwehampton big.
Had six eggs this morningand I do wish you lot were closer so I could give you eggs. Oh is not keen on me having a table out the front anymore.

On the flip-side of American lifestyle, I had a recent e-mail from a cousin living in New Jersey. I assumed he was just joking with the bit of local news he had for me - but no, it wasn't an exaggerated tale. In the 1920s Atlantic City, there was a show called 'Diving Horses'. The show is about to be relaunched & consists of horses being ridden by stunt riders up a steep wooden ramp of some 40ft & then urged on to dive over the edge into the bay - horse & rider together.
Madness!

Just lost another posting :-( :-( :-(
Anyway Good afternoon all,
Oh Dermot what a thing to do with those poor horses. I wonder how many will end up dead from the force of hitting the water ??
Rain has been forecast for this afternoon/evening.1 My back lawn is in need of a cut. So when Ros went out with Carolyn at 1.30 I got the mower out and "One man and his dog (JJ) went a mowing" All done and mower away. JJ is asleep in the chair, I am uncomfortable with my back, and don't know whether to go and lay on the bed and rest. I know if I do I will be asleep in minutes, and at this time of day, that is a complete NO NO.!!!
I think I will make a COT, and stay away from the bedroom. !!! to tempting
I haven't taken any photo's of JJ this time, he really hasn't changed since we last had him, other than he's more loving and enjoys his cuddles and play fighting with me.
We Skyped Jan, Conrad, Jo and Ella this morning. We had JJ on Ros's lap with the camera on. They were talking to him, but he took no notice and buried his head under Ros's arm ;-) ;-) ;-) So I think he is quite happy to be with us. I am sure will will miss having him when he goes.
Hope you remembered all your things needed Mel. while shopping, nothing worse than getting home and forgetting something. We always make a list. I add to it as I use the last bit of anything. Today I made a Bread and butter pudding, and used the last Sultana's, so they will be replaced today.
Beef ribs in a thick gravy, fresh picked Runners and broad beans, and baby carrots. Podded peas, and sweetheart cabbage and of course new potato's.
Might see you later.

Back now with one very unhappy looking Thomas. I think he is still dopey from the sedation, but he is not comfortable with the leg.I think it has been pulled and manipulated a lot.So I have to give him the anti-inflammatory medicine again for 4 nights.I have just put it in his food so hopefully he will eat soon.He must be starving as he hasn't eaten since early last night.I don't think he is going to be allowed out on his own yet as I can't guarantee he will stay in the garden. So it may well be a few more weeks. The vet will ring me tomorrow as I didn't see him tonight. He had had to go and cover at another surgery and the Other Vet had gone home sick :-S. Any calls coming in for animals needing a Vet were having to be transferred to the other surgery. His XRays looked fine apparently so it is just a case of continuing recovery :-D
Frank was it painful for you cutting the grass ? LOL maybe JJ was having a sulk Frank refusing to look and talk to Jan and Conrad.Or trying to make them feel guilty for leaving him :-D
Mel I would never call Oakhampton a big town lol.Or it wasn't the last time I went through there.(many years ago) I have never been to a Home Sense either. We don't have any around this area as far as I know.Is it is bit like Dunelm or the Range?
Why is OH not keen for you to have a table out the front again? Is it because people might just take what's on it and not pay?
Better crack on with dinner.I'm not sure whether I am coming or going at the moment .It has been one of those days.

All unpacked and put away and I don't think I forgot anything thank you Frank.
Oh has his usual curry for tonight and I have a nice piece of smoked haddock with sweetcorn.
Dermot I don't think that should be aloud. It could split those poor horses bellies open. What a nasty thing to do. I should think there would be a lot of people against it.
Good you go tyour lawn mowed again today Frank. Oh has been having a good clear up while I have been out.
I have just picked more strawberries and I am hoping they are coming to an end now as I want the barrow for something else I want to keep away from the bantams and rabbits.
Bought 4 perenniels in Morrisons for three pounds. A coryopsis, lavender, campanular and a sweet william. The lavender smells wonderful and I wanted a new one for the border as mine up there is very old and woody now and its something the rabbits and deer don't eat. I thought I would cut down one of my lupins and when I went up there something has eaten every leaf off it and its not slugs or snails.
We had the deer and her baby in the garden this morning so I suppose it couldhave been them but I thought Lupins were poisonous??????? All parts.

Horse diving has been banned since the 1970's, there was an unsuccessful attempt to bring it back in the 1990's without success . The latest attempt has also been met with a huge outcry and will not get off the ground. So no it's not allowed!
