It's suddenly turned a lot cooler today, which suits me.

Had my Sainsbury delivery this morning which I put away before taking Amy for a walk, we didn't go far as Shadow decided to join us for the second day running.

Enjoy your day with Janice and Larry, Jane. I always have to follow recipes too as I need to weigh things as per the instruction, I'm no good at guessing weights etc

I hope your OH is feeling better now Mandy, it is a worry when he is due for his op, soon.

Ann, no wonder you were shaken up coming across that unmarked police car and then thinking the occupant had a gun pointing at you. They do have that around here but only on a busy road leading up to Sainsburys, there is always a lot of traffic on it and the local drivers know where they hide up,

Not home alone for a while then Frank, we don't watch any soaps here but I will be watching Celebrity Master Chef later and recording Full Steam Ahead. Richard is at the Gym tonight and doesn't get in until just after 9pm

Mel have your girls now settled into together? Its good that you are getting lovely fresh eggs again. Hope those work men turn up soon.

My brother is in Hamburg this week working for ACE cultural tours one of the Artists he will be lecturing on is Caspar David Friedrich. he gained his PHD through using his work to issue a book on.

I also like eating raw cabbage stalks but I like raw cauliflower flower heads the best.

Afternoon all,

Thought I would pop in to have a break from cooking programmes on SKY 133. I enjoy River Cottage and Heston B######fel(I won't attempt to spell it)

Ros had a line of washing out,when the phone rang. It was Tony to say it had started to rain. We both rushed out (laugh) and started at each end of the line and got the washing in. Sheets pillow cases and loads of other whites. Ros has ironed in all this afternoon.

She has started packing my bag for Saturday. Shorts, T shirts,u/pants, hankies, and my toilet bag. Washed and ironed my dressing gown.

It's very cloudy here this afternoon, and muggy. One minute i'm cold the next stripped off.

Curried Chicken for tonight. Ros will do that as usual. There is enough over for a meal for JJ so he will be pleased.

My washing went out again and then that fine rain came down again but I left it and we have had sunshine since then a bit.

Yes the girls are getting on together better now but the old two still rule the roost.

I have hoovered the kitchen and done a bit of tidying up but oh came in from mowing and took the plug out of the hoover so that stopped play. I never seem to get any further than the kitchen dinner and just into the hall.

Done a couple of jigsaws online too and I am just about to corn the girls.

Ann did you get in touch with the police to see if that was genuin police yesterday in that back lane? It could have given someone a heart attack seeing a gun pointed at them.

So Frank nearly there then. I bet you can't wait to get this over and done with now. Just two more sleeps till Saturday and we shall all be thinking of you. x

Not long now Frank just think next week at this time you'll probably be home ,i think my BIL was home after about five days .
Hubby has his things all laid out on the spare bed,he just has to take things for over night and i will take the other bits when i visit , they don't like you taking to much that they have to move about with you .

The rain is coming down like stair rods !! Oh well it will save me the job of watering tonight .

Well Janice and Larry have just left.Larry will be totally pooped after all thhe driving today.From Tewkesbury to here and then from here to Mildenhall to take his Grandson home.Then back here for an hour or 2 before setting off again for Tekewbury!!!.I think Janice is going to take over the driving from Stratford.

We have talked our tongues off(well Janice and I did) :-D She is getting very excited about getting her new puppy Jilly.I think she said it will be Aug 2nd.They will have a 3 hour drive to Camarthen to collect her and then 3 hours home .New bed ,collar and silver bone tag(with diamante LOL ) all ready. Janice emptied her handbag while she was sat on the settee.You should have seen all that came out.We were in stitches especially when a pair of shoes appeared !!!!!!!!!!!!..Sunglasses ,2 pairs of specs,tape measure,3 purses,a little bag with pills ,nose spray,eye drops etc, a straw,tomato ketchup sachets,some crayons.I can't think now what else was in there.

Now it is late and I haven't begun dinner yet.

LOL I packed my bag and in it i put !!! LOL what ever size handbag does she have

So not long before they get the new puppy then the fun begins :-D

It's quite large Mandy lol..No wonder us women get back /shoulder ache with all we lump around.It was like Mary Poppins :-D..I have to admit I have popped a spare pair of flats in my bag before when I have been to London to see Hannah. Oh yes Janice had an umbrella too :-D

Thomas has done a wee in the garden while on his harness.That is the first time.He must have been desperate and couldn't wait to get back to the tray.

Your brother sounds very talented Ann.Does he do these Cultural tours all year round?

I thought I heard water running this morning from somewhere close by.I just couldn't work out where it was coming from.So I rang my neighbour 2 doors down to see if she had heard it. It is apparently next door..Filling the Swimming Pool !!!.That is going to take days and days to do as it is a fair size.I know it had a leak a few years ago ,so they must have had that fixed.
Not eating here until 8 .30 . I'm so hungry :-S

The flowers you have done are beautiful Mandy, the ones you have chosen go together so nicely and I bet they will be so pleased with them. :-)

We have had rain here this afternoon, so as Mandy says, it will be good to have a break from the watering.

It's good your girls are calming down and leaving the eggs alone now Mel. It's you that wants to be eating them not the chickens! I seem to be the same with hoovering too and struggle to get beyond the bedrooms and hall before it's time to go out or there's another interruption and the hoover gets put away. When OH was at work, I'd leave the hoover out and go back to it after I came back home, but Mr Tidy puts it away now and then I forget.

OH has been in fits of laughter today after I told him I'd ordered some 'horse shampoo' for my hair!!!! lol. It's called Mane'n Tails and I've read that it is good for human hair too and makes your hair shine. He's been cracking jokes all day, saying he'll be putting a bet on me on the 3.30pm at Chepstow and humming the tune to Steptoe and son. When he said I'd be cheap to feed with just hay every day he soon spluttered when I told him I might want my 'oats' morning and night as well!! ;-) lol.

Your brother has an interesting life with his job Anne, although I expect at times, he might prefer less travel. I like your avatar pic of your mum.

I never quarter a cabbage but just shred it all, leaf stalks as well, but not the main stem bit in the middle. Broccoli stalks get chopped up unless they are woody. I usually eat a bit of raw cabbage and have done since I used to slice it up for mum. I often have a bit of raw carrot too when I'm doing those.

Did Michael like his Lego Jane? It sounds like you and Janice had a good old chinwag. It sounds like she just can't wait to get Jilly!! :-)

That's good to get your bag packed now Frank and be all ready for Saturday. We'll all be thinking of you. You are bound to feel a bit jittery, I know I did before my op, but it'll soon all be over and you'll be back home again. Hopefully they will do yours in the morning so there's less waiting.

I treat myself to a used Amazon Kindle from eBay for less than half price.
Have been able to charge it through the PC and look at Kindle book titles.
Does any book bought load on to the Kindle through the charger lead ?

David, I've got a kindle which I use as for everything including books. The best thing you can do is to look on line (Google) to find out exactly how to use it which includes downloading books. I imagine the previous owner has cleared it, so you've been able to register it to you! Again you can get step by step help on the web.

Jane, Ross's bag is just like Janice's, everything but the kitchen sink. She lost her phone the other day, and it was a the bottom of the bag !!

Ann you and Gordon feed of each other don'y you. ?? I always have a good smile after reading your posts. Did you get your oats this morning ;-) ;-) ;-)

Anne it does seem strange your cat going for a walk with you and the dog. How far does she follow you for ?? Ros's dad had a cat many years ago that would walk about half a mile to the shoe factory where he worked,and jump on his shoulder for a lift home. He would do this every lunchtime and evening.

Oh Mel, The naked chicken, is it a new one ?? I don't know how you can cure this happening, apart from keeping them separated.

Nothing special with the weather this morning. Lots of rain last evening. JJ wanted to go out just at the point of heaviest rain. He came in soaked, and really enjoyed a good rub down on a dry towel. He's out there now, sniffing every plant and scrub, he must love all the new smells he is finding.

Well this time tomorrow I will be doing a bit, waiting to go in the operating room. I don't know what time I will go down. Ros said she will stay with me till I go down. I don't know if I will want visitors Saturday evening.

Sunday Julia and Lewis fly to France to their Holiday Caravan. Harvey is coming up to see Ros. I have booked a table at a nice restaurant for them for 4.30 pm. I expect they will visit me before or after their meal.

Will try to get back on this afternoon/evening.

If I don't get back on here god luck with the op Frank. We will all be thinking of you you know that don't you. XX

It dried up and I put the bathroom mats out on the line. We had lunch and oh was just going out there and it started to rain again so the mats came in.

Frank firstly good luck for tomorrow hope all goes as planned.

Took Amy for her walk without Shadow so we were able to go further, if Shadow comes we don't go as far because part of the walk runs parallel with the Nine Mile Ride which we cross over at the lights to get into the Ripley Forest, so I don't want Shadow to get any ideas. Sometimes Toby comes along as well which causes some amusement when we see other walkers. Sometimes they meet us on the way home which is better, they come over the back garden fence.

Colin is back from Hamburg at the end of the month, then at the beginning of August he is on another Ace tour to Belgium, next trip after that with Ace Is Venice at the end of September. He does other lectures as well so is always busy I don't for how much longer as he was 70 this year.

The weather has been mixed today no sun and its looking like rain at the moment

I have vacuumed right through today and washed all Amy's bedding so no doggy smells at the moment

My ar#e is starting to twitch, thinking of tomorrow. I expect I will be in the theatre by this time tomorrow. I have told Ros I don't want her there all day waiting for me to go done and come back. I would much prefer to come out of the anaesthetic on my own, and I will ring her if I want her to come to visit in the evening. Am I being unfair ???

Had a barney with her Dentist this afternoon. They took over £200.00 for treatment in May, and have only just rang, after Ros had left gawd knows how many messages. She left a curt message again this morning, before going off to meet Julia for afternoon tea in Milton Keynes.

Ros has asked me to think what I would like, as she want's to take me out this evening for a meal. Is this "THE LAST SUPPER" ?? ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3 At this moment in time I have no IDEA. !!!

Sun is trying to come through after a very cloudy morning. The breeze is keeping things more pleasant.

Have just watched River Cottage. Now Heston is on. It's the final of Celebrity Master Chef tonight. So must record that if we go out.

JJ is down the bottom of the garden, barking at someone making a lot of noise in his garden. I have called him in, and he's now sitting on the sofa.

No he's not He's sitting on the back of the chair barking at someone walking by. Little beger !!!
I see those two who murdered that 13 month old child in Luton are being sentenced this afternoon. I hope they get life.

Just remember to do what your told ,when hubby was last in a chap had his knee done and was told not to bend it for a few hours he didn't listen thought he knew best and had to go back to theatre !!

FRank ,I think the best thing for Ros is to go home after taking you in and then when she knows you are all done and out of theatre she can check about visiting. I know when Janice had her knee done they told Larry to come in the next day .But that might have been because she didn't have the op until the afternoon.

Anyway if I don't get back again tonight I will be thinking of you tomorrow.Lots of Love <3 <3
