Thanks all, for your good wishes. I promise I will do as I am told, as I don't want any set backs.
Conrad has just SKYPED me from Spain and had a good chat. He is coming home on Friday to East Midlands Airport, so will call in and see me on his way home to Devon. Jan or Jo will pick him up from the airport. I think they will pick JJ at the same time.
Harvey has just rung me to wish me all the best for tomorrow, that was nice of him. Whether I will hear from Lewis tonight, I will have to wait and see.
Harvey has been working in London all day today. While stationary at a set of lights, some silly BU##ER ran into the back of him. He has bent the tailgate and bumper on his truck. Fortunately he has replacement vehicle cover on his insurance, so won't be without a vehicle while his is being repaired.
Mel I couldn't open the link. It said the page was not available. What happened to the house for it to fall into the road. ??
Ros has just rung, she has called into Tesco, and will be home soon.
I might take my laptop in with me, I will see in the morning. If not I will be in touch when I get home.

Yes, best wishes Frank.......I have sent you an email. <3 <3
Hello David.......no I don't mind at all, quite the opposite, so thank you..........but it was taken long ago when I was aged 40 and thought I was old!! How are you doing regarding a car?
I bet your DIL was pleased to find the dress Mandy and even more pleased you are good with the sewing machine. :-) No I didn't contact the police in the end..........didn't know how it might be received and didn't want them calling me in with all my docs or checking my car over even though all is in order!
I bet you do cause some amusement on your walks Anne with cats in tow! lol
I've had quite a lazy day apart from a trip to one of the nearby garden centres that has just opened a new cafe. They aren't doing their full menu yet though, mostly soup, cakes and sandwiches, but they have made a nice outside area to sit as well. There's another cafe opening in the next village this weekend at an old tithe barn they have done out. They seem to be opening everywhere round here.
The past few days since the schools broke up we have seen loads of teenagers on the pavements everywhere glued to their mobiles.........no doubt to do with the latest Pokemon craze! The trouble is they don't look where they are going!

I'm sure you must hear that comment often, even if it may be a few years on. In the north eat we wouldn't hesitate to call you a bonny lass.
Regarding the car I'm still looking. Trying to find out through the insurers if the removal of the right hand side of the dash board, so as to accommodate my straight leg would be an acceptable modification. They either don't know or don't understand.

Morning All,
No I don't get to hear that David. I get called 'darling' quite often, which I think is nice and I always smile back if I hear it. Women don't seem to have the same sort of names for men somehow. Keep persisting with the car till they do understand, even if you have to do a diagram! You are so close to being back on the road now, so don't give up. :-)
I hope Frank's knee has been done now and that he can look forward to recovering from now on.
Mel, I did find the house and am glad I wasn't on the pavement outside when it happened! :-0 I bet it's grade listed and will be costly to repair. What a shock it would have been if it happened while you were asleep in that bedroom!
Well, I'm back to being a footie widow again.........he's gone to a match near Wisbech with one of his pals, so I might find me a run out somewhere I haven't been for a while. We had brekkie down the road at The Grove earlier, but it was freezing in there and I was soon rolling down my jeans that had been rolled up to the knee for the hotter days. The girl who served us said she was cold too and had kept switching off the aircon as it wouldn't adjust for some reason. As soon as she did though, the chef was switching it back on as he was too hot in the kitchen!! lol.
The Mane 'n Tails shampoo arrived this morning so I will try it tomorrow and let you know what it is like. ;-) Typical of OH, he's now wondering whether to try some himself!!!!! Why I don't know with the small amount of hair he has. lol.

Darling has never been in my vocabulary bonny lass. Maureen and Jane are bonny too as are the others I'm sure. You suited big hair, was it recent or some time ago.
If like some I's removed that piece of dashboard and renewed my policy and resumed driving there wouldn't in all likelihood have been a problem. But now I've explained it in detail over the phone and it's recorded, there is a problem :-|

Afternoon All Yes I wonder if Frank has had the op yet.Hopefully he was first on the list and not having to wait and worry too long.I wonder what he is like coming out of an Anaesthetic??? James is dreadful. He fights and swears like a trouper :-S :-S.After he had his tonsils out aged about 16 it took 3 nurses and 2 men to hold him down !!
Bonny Lass is what I used to be called when I was a little girl :-D..Not sure whatI would be called now LOL..Maybe a Hefty Lass :-S There is a young girl on the tills in Asda and she calls everyone Honey.I can't stand it.She is only about 20. I always give her till a miss if possible.
Well I have been out and about his morning.Everywhere seems really busy.I had to go to Wickes to buy a bit of thick drainpipe to wrap Hannah's Indian rug around.Remember the lovely jewelled rug she bought in India? Well it has been under our bed lying flat with a sheet around it.But Thomas has decided he likes to lie on it.So now it will go around the pipe and no doubt live on the top of a wardrobe for years :-S :-S
Ann you might start NEIGHING after you have used the horse shampoo :-D Isn't Wisbech a long way from you? I can't think where it is although I think I have seen signs for it from Peterborough.
I feel really grubby after being in Wickes.Everything is so dirty in there.Silly me wore a white top too.So that will be coming off in a minute and going in the wash.
It is very close here and cloudy.Fan on again.

'Sweetheart' gets used a lot around here, which I'm not too keen on. (nor on ' honey ' Jane) People talk about bonny babies here and a geordie manager I had in my 20s once said I was a bonny dancer !! lol. I'd forgotten that till now. The photo was taken 29 years ago David........where did all that time go!
Yes I think Wisbech is a long way too Jane, but OH considers these distances 'just up the road' when I ask him.........it is Peterborough way and I think we went close to it on the way to Norfolk. You must still have quite a bit of Hannah's stuff here and there! With us it's MIL's stuff! I will be glad when we just have our own stuff again. :-S
Well, I'd better get going if I'm going out.

Twenty nine years older than the woman in that photo (I'm still a year older than you) Use sweetheart and honey up north and you're bordering on intimate. As long as you get the term you want to hear from your dearest, that's what matters. Been having a sort out. I never knew I had so many tee shirts and under pants and socks. Half of them are being given away. Wondering what to do with all my shoes. Don't get around much any more.

Thanks David. Thomas is doing really well ,just can't let him go yet. Keep some shoes that are comfy. You might be glad of them when you get your car :-D :-D I find shoes with soles that don't bend dreadful to drive in.Flip Flops a definite NO NO LOL
Well Thomas nearly freaked out. He is used to the dogs next door barking. But there is a new one 2 doors down.My neighbours are going to be looking after their daughters Lab for 2 weeks and I think Holly has just arrived !!!.Thomas isn't used to hearing a dog that side of the garden :-D.I had to take him in as he was straining going backwards in the harness :-S

Evening all,
I can see blue sky now ,it's been cloudy for most of the day and so muggy , i really thought we were in for rain as the sky was so black at times.
Yes Ann i think you should say "Neigh " :-D to OH you get him to buy his own shampoo LOL
Well i expect our dear friend will have had his op by now and i hope it has all gone well ,it will seem a long time waiting to hear from him , i will miss his posts
There was another wedding today they had a lovely old cream car standing in the churchyard and when i took Max for his walk there was the usual confetti and red and yellow rose petals all over the path.
Son and DIL's wedding anniversery today ,they loved the flowers in the box . We have been invited to a surprise 70th birthday party next friday so i have decided to do a smaller box of flowers for the birthday gift, maybe in pinky colours this time.
Mel, i have several pods on my purple podded peas now ,one was quite fat so i just had to pick it ,oh boy they were nice and tasty i just love raw peas so none will go in the pot to be cooked.

Yes, it will seem strange not hearing from him won't it Mandy. I bet he'll soon have the nurses fussing over him. ;-) I wonder how long he is likely to be in? I love to see the old cars all gleaming for weddings, they look so classy don't they. Does Max try to eat the confetti or has he given up on things like that now!
Poor old Thomas, he'll be a bag of nerves what with Chris and the mower and now a new dog he didn't expect. I don't suppose the harness bothers him now he's so used to it I expect. Do you have to do any physio on his leg Jane or are his walks enough to carry on the strengthening of his muscles? I was watching Paul O Grady at Battersea last night and there was a pretty little Shih Tzu called Dolly that had all but lost the use of it's back legs and couldn't walk properly. They found there was no medical reason and once it had regular walks to build the muscles up it could race around fine. They thought the poor little thing not being taken for walks had caused it. It just shows how muscles can build up and be strong when they are used, even after wasting away.
The Investigator was good again this week and it's the last episode next week. I have a feeling there's going to be an unexpected twist in what happens!
David I hate throwing shoes out, especially if they are comfy. I confess I have too many, some unworn too.

Annx, I now struggle to get into shoes, because of left, once them there's another struggle lacing them. So I bought a couple of pairs of trainers with Velcro fastening, of necessity.

That's a good idea David.......I have trainers with velchro straps too as they are much easier to put on. You need to make life easier when things are a struggle so I can see why you may as well reduce the shoes you have that are difficult. My OH has more 'slip on' type shoes now as it is such a bind bending down tying laces.
Well I'm off to watch the Amazing Sheds man we recorded now, so night night all.

It has been a beautiful day here with wall to wall sunshine.
I was going up the border this afternoon but my magazine arrived with the post and I spent the rest of the afternoon fiddleing in my shed with something to make in the mag. It was jar in a string netting and I made two and then tried something a bit different that did'nt wok too well.
It is nice to see you posting again David. I see you are having a sort out. No doubt Ellen will be pleased.
I wonder how our boy is tonight. I do hope they hav'nt put it off till tomorrow and he is out of the anaesthetic by now. Hope he is in a good mood when Ros visits.
It is so hot and sticky here tonight but if I go out in the garden it is lovely and cool.
I did a wash of the towels today on 60c. It took 2 hours 59 mins so I won't be using that wash again. Oh thought it had been going for four hours!!!! But I tell you what they smell lovely and they are so soft.

Well I can inform you all that Frank went down for his op at 10.30 this morning and now it is all over and done with. He is still bleeding quite a lot but they only told him not to take his asprin one day before!! I would have thought it would have been a few says as it must still be in your bloodstream if you take it regulary (sp). Ros went in to see him today and he rang her about 8pm. Thats all I can tell you for now apart from she is sending him all our love when she visits tomorrow.
