Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Jul 2016 10:00

morning you lot,

Not a bad day again here with some of the yellow thing in the sky but there are grey clouds looming.

Anne

Anne Report 31 Jul 2016 11:34

Good morning Mel and everyone

That is good news that Frank has had his Op and I hope they have managed to sort the bleeding out now, so he will be able to come home soon. It must be a relief for Ros too.

It's a lovely day here so far although there are a few clouds on the horizon. Richard is just about to take Amy across to the forest for her long Sunday walk. I have roast beef in the oven slowly cooking and have already made a cauliflower cheese. we usually eat about 2o/c on Sundays. Which gives time for Paul and the girls to settle in.

Going to watch " Fake or Fortune" and "The Secret Agent" later this evening.

Love to Frankxxx <3 <3

Afternoon All
Thanks Mel for the update on Frank. That was good he had his op nice and early.I expect the bleeding will be sorted by now.Fancy forgetting him not to take his Aspirin :-S
I expect he will be feeling a fair bit of pain today and he will be made to start usuing his leg.I hope the air doesn't turn too blue lol

No sun here .Just all cloud and really warm.Amy will be romping in he forest now then Anne :-D.You are lucky to have that forest on your doorstep .
So you are another one who likes a Cauliflower Cheese with your Roast Beef.I have never done that.I suppose it is because my Mum never did.
She did used to the the best Suet with Lamb.(I think it was with Lamb.).It was always lovely and crispy on the outside :-)..I have never been successful with that.

Thomas is a right old sleepy head today. He wasn't even keen to go right down the garden and just flopped down in the middle of the lawn where he dozed off with me standing like a lemon holding the lead.I got cheesed off after about 15 minutes so picked him up and carried him in.He is curled up on his bed.

I must have a look at the news as I see there has been shootings in Austin Texas. My friends Sister lives there.

Chris has pulled the garlic up this morning but they all look a bit on the small side :-S.Not like the massive ones we had a couple of years ago. They are now hanging on a hook on the outside of the summerhouse.

The air feels spookily quiet .Hardly any noise from the A14 traffic. Not that I am complaining about that.It is nice to just have some peace for a change. There is hardly a breath of wind.

Did anyone watch Casualty last night? Oooooh what an ending !! :-0

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Jul 2016 12:47

Jane he did'nt take his asprin but it was only the one and I thought it would have been longer than that to get it out of the system before his op.

Oh went to mow, went to mow the meadow and down came a shower of rain. I just could'nt believe it but it was only a short sharp fine shower and he managed to get the top field mowed. He dos'nt usually mow on a Sunday!!

I hoovered through while he was out but I think I have blown the new hoover up as it has stopped working. Might be the fuse in the plug as none of the leccy went out. Anyway its still under guarantee.

Annx Report 31 Jul 2016 13:23

Afternoon All,

Thanks for the update Mel. It was good he got an early slot and didn't have to hang around too long. I remember when I had my hysterectomy having to wait quite a while after my booked time as the previous lady operated on was slow coming round! Not what I needed to hear just before my turn! Yes he won't be too happy with the pain I expect but will be glad it's over now.

I like cauliflower cheese too Anne, although it is more slimming for me without the cheese! All the carveries round here do it but I never had it until I went out for meals.

I tried the horse shampoo this morning! OH was sniggering when he saw it again, but I must say it seems very good. It smells nice and I only needed a tiny bit as it is quite thick and concentrated. It made my hair squeak it was so clean and it dried nice and bouncy and silky! I'd have been 'best in show' I think. :-) :-)

We noticed this morning that the sale sign for next door's bungalow has gone so they have either sold it or taken it off the market?

Jane

Jane Report 31 Jul 2016 14:13

Mel you don't have much luck with your hoovers do you lol.At least this one is still covered by guarantee .
You have me singing that song now..One Man went to Mow :-D.That will be stuck in my head all day !!

So nice clean squeaky hair Ann.I always think if your hair squeaks it is clean :-D Best in Show LOLOL.You need a Rosette :-DIt sounds really good shampoo

The sky is coming over really dark here at the moment.Just got all the towels in just in case of a downpour. Thomas is still asleep !!!!!!!!!!.Very odd :-S

James has gone to somewhere near Leamington Spa for a game of Frisby Golf with a few of his pals.I have no idea what Frisby Golf is :-S
It is one of those days when I just don't want to muster up enthusiasm to do anything .
I do need to have a battle though with cobwebs and spiders.I can't believe how many there are.The webs are so fine you can't see them ,but know they are there when you walk into them :-S :-S

Mel that Shower Wet and Forget is very good :-D I am going to use it in the main bathroom too especially on the screen on the side of the bath.We have such Hard Water here it is a big problem .I use Calgon in the washing machine all the time and we are always having to descale the kettle .Irons are a nightmare and I often have to buy 2 a year !!

Ann can you ask your neighbour if they have sold or just taken the bungalow off the market? Is this the one with the barking dog? Or the other side?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Jul 2016 14:43

I wondered that whether it was the side with the barking dog.

Is Gorden going to try it on his mane Ann to make it all bouncy?

Never heard of Frisby Golf.

Jane

Jane Report 31 Jul 2016 14:52

Just sent a lovely pic of Chris and Thomas :-D :-D :-D

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Jul 2016 15:07

Looks to me like Thomas has the more comfy grass to lay on. Dear boys........

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Jul 2016 15:47

Ann when you watch the shed program tell me what you think about who won it as I would be quite interested to see what other think.

Annx

Annx Report 31 Jul 2016 17:10

Yes Thomas does seem to have the more comfy spot doesn't he! It's a great photo Jane. :-) No, it isn't the barking dog neighbour, it's the one the other side next to where all the building is going on. We haven't seen them to ask yet, but will do next time we do. The builders are putting roof timbers on one bungalow now and the house has brickwork up to the eaves. They haven't started on the other bungalow yet, but we noticed the old man's bungalow at the other end near the main road seems to be getting an extension at the back. It looks like the builder bought the whole plot including the old bungalow and not just the garden.

I only know about Frisby Golf because it is a game on Wii Sports!

Well we were shocked about the shed prog winner Mel. All through the prog we were saying it wasn't a shed and was a thatched barn! I think there should be a limit on the length too, after all 60 foot long is pushing it a bit as well. I would have chosen the revolving shed or the restored poet's one. I really loved the fishing boat cabin one too as those views from it were to die for.

Something's gone wrong with the thread last page on my pooter. The writing's ok, but our avatars' are long and thin like in a hall of mirrors!

Jane

Jane Report 31 Jul 2016 17:50

I have Hall of Mirrors too Ann :-S.It happens every now and then doesn't it.
I thought it was a funny pic of Chris and Thomas.Thomas eventually came out covered in yellow dust.Pollen from the long grassses .I tried to brush it off but it just stuck to his fur,He needs a good shake :-D
Sounds like the builders are geting on then Ann :-(.Are you still having all the big lorries and trucks ?

Frisbee Golf looks good fun.James has just got home and said he tied second .
At least he got out and had some outdoors activity for once :-)

Chris and Thomas are down the garden again !! For someone who says he is not an amimal lover ,I think Chris is going a bit soft LOL..He is now trying to get Thomas to walk.Bit of Physio :-D
I bet Frank is already having physio. No hanging about after a Knee Op .They get you moving pretty swiftly.I hope he has had a good day today and is not in too much pain or discomfort <3

MillymollyAmanda Report 31 Jul 2016 18:08

Afternoon all,

Thanks Mel for the news on Frank , i expect they will have him out of bed today and standing ,even walking they don't seem to like you in bed for long these days .
I hope he's being a good patient, bet he's sweet talking the nurses .

Well we watched shed of the year , i thought they had to be sheds !! how was that rotating one a shed !! and the one on wheels was empty !! I like the old looking ones like the shed village .

Jane i don't know who was enjoying the doze in the grass the most :-D

Well my pages are funny ,is it the link Mel put up about the Frisbee Golf thats done it .

Annx

Annx Report 31 Jul 2016 18:58

That's true Mandy, when does a shed stop being a shed and you are right about the empty one too. I quite liked the shed village ones, but how can it be fair for someone to enter a load of sheds as one entry instead of one shed? :-S I think they need some more rules! :-)

OH has just jumped in the bath as he has twisted his neck somehow and it's painful. I did offer to help and hold his neck under the water for him, but he gave me one of those 'looks' and couldn't help smiling. lol.

We ended up at a garden centre near Nuneaton this afternoon but all I got was a chicken and tarragon pie in the farm shop there.

Please send a pic of your next box of flowers Mandy. They are so pretty and a good idea that's a bit different.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Jul 2016 22:13

Well I was talking about the revolving summer house. That to me is NOT a shed and it cost £40,000. The fastest shed was awful and I like dthe shed village the best. Surely they have to have an up to price limit. Sorry but to me it just was'nt a SHED.

Just been watching two hogs in the garden. I was a bit late getting their food out and one was going around the garden before I had the wire fence back after oh mowed the grass this afternoon. I had taken all the bowls up and the lights and the wire!! Got it out there and had the big light on and put everything in place went round to shut the big girls in andwhen I came back there they were.

I'll delete that link and see if it make the page right.

Morning all,

A pinch and a punch and all that.

Grey skies and a sprinkling of rain in the night. There were millions of stars in the sky last night as it was as clear as a bell but thats all changed this m orning.

Wonder how our boy is this morning. I hope he is getting his beauty sleep in there.

I do miss our Frank.

Oh has rung the solar place and they are coming today. O there here!!!!!!!

Gillx

Gillx Report 1 Aug 2016 12:19

Afternoon all

Raining here today, hope it doesn't last to long, it'll be nice to see the sun again :-)

Well, I've had a time of it lately, my router has been playing up again so now I'm changing my provider which will be at the end of August. I rang my provider and ended up speaking to someone in the Philappines and then India. It was the middle of the day here and I was on the phone for over half an hour, I'm dreading my phone bill. Apparently they don't have UK call centre's so that's why I'm changing to someone else. I will have a new email address so will pass that on when I'm set up. In the meantime I'll try and get on here if my router plays nicely. I have missed you all.

Pleased to hear Frank's op went well. Does anyone know when he'll be home?

I've been thinking of getting solar power Mel, you'll have to let us know how you get on with your upgrade :-)

I've not been very well lately and now have to go for a number of blood tests to find out what's wrong. I've been so tired these past two weeks and keep sleeping all the time. I also have some other symptoms. Mum thinks it might be a bit of exhaustion with working so hard on the garden these past months and also she thinks it might be my age. The doctor is testing for all sorts including diabetes, which runs in my family. I just hope she can sort it out soon so I don't feel so bad.

I love the photo of Chris and Thomas Jane, they both looked very comfy. Did you manage to comb out Thomas's fur in the end. I guess you didn't go with the shaking of him LOL

I watched the shed programme too and like you all said some of them didn't look like sheds. My favourite was the village ones.

Off to get something to eat now, I'm really hungry. See you all later <3

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 1 Aug 2016 15:18

Nice to see you pop in Gill and sorry to hear you've not been well. Good idea to have a visit to the docs to get checked out on anything that could be causing this tiredness.

They do say having solar panels now is not worth it but we were lucky in getting in when they were paying out a very high amount. Now with this upgrade we should get more units when the weather is dull.

Its all done now and paid for so lets hope we see a difference in the payments we receive. I always write the weather in the diary and the amount of units for that day so should be able to check. Also we are now linked on the net to the panels and can see which are working better than others and if anything goes wrong it is also monitered at the place that did the upgrade and if anything goes wrong with any of the panels they will know that too.

We did'nt have the scaffolding men call and put it up so they tok off the £300 pounds that would have cost.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 1 Aug 2016 15:20

O and we did have the wagtails nest under the panels and the young chap said he left it there. Bless......
