Anne Report 1 Aug 2016 16:41

Good afternoon all

Sorry to hear you have been out of sorts Gill but having the blood test should identify the problem if there is one, glad you are able to get on here again.

Jane I loved the photo of your" 2 boys" having a lie down in the garden they do look very relaxed.

Mel pleased to hear you have had your solar panels upgraded and they hopefully will be better and more beneficial money wise..

I wonder how our Frank is hope to see him on here again soon.

We have had some very light rain but not enough yet to do much good.

Gillx

Gillx Report 1 Aug 2016 17:15

So you were one of the lucky one's Mel, getting your solar panels at the right time, by the sounds of it? ;-)

Yes I'm looking forward to the blood test, if that's the right words, as I'm tired within a few hours of waking up and if I fight it I end up with really bad headaches.

Still raining here, that fine stuff that soaks you through and you don't notice it. Hope we get the sun back soon.

So far, so good, with my router, it's stayed on all day. I'm going through all my contacts and writing down all their email address's so I have them when I switch to another provider at the end of the month. I have quite a lot so I hope the router plays nicely until I'm finished. I keep having breaks because of feeling so tired, so it may take a few days.
Going to have a nice soak in the bath now, then sort out dinner. No doubt it'll be another early night for me. Hope I don't have anything serious and the doctor can sort it out. I can't carry on like this :-( :-(

Get well wishes to Frank, hope everything is going okay for you and you are home soon <3

Afternoon All
Bit of a gloomy day here with no sun.Still warm enough though just to have a stappy top on. We both fell a bit dozy today and even Thomas hasn't really mustered up any energy .He was sick in the night :-S..Chris found it whe nhe came down this morning and thankfully cleared it up.He usually shouts for me !!
After the peace and quiet yesterday with no noise from the works going on over the other side of the A14(it is going to be industrial units) today has been a nightmare. You can't hear yourself think outside :-S and the traffic is so loud too.I think rain is on its way as that is often a sign .

That is good all the work is doen now for your upgrading Mel and even better you don't have to pay the £300 :-D

Anne I love that pic of Thomas and Chris :-D

Oh Gill I am sorry you are feeling under the weather.I'm sure you must be exhausted with all the work you have been doing in the garden. But wonder if it is hormonal imbalance to do with 'the change' (I hate that expression) I remember when I was going through that I felt so tired all the time .I would drop of to sleep at the drop of a hat, feel grumpy and not very nice to live with . Hopefully your blood tests will show what the problem is and you can get something to help you.Fingers crossed it is not Diabetes.
I think Frank reckoned to be home by maybe Wednesday. I do hope he is doing fine now and being able to be a bit mobile without too much pain. He will be glad to get home to his own bed .

I can't comment on the Shed programme as I haven't seen it :-)

Beef Stroganoff for us tonight.I have cooked the Beef Strips and Mushrooms so it just needs sauce adding and the rice .

Just started to rain here now.

Evening all,

No rain here so far but the clouds look so black now so i don't think it will dry here for much longer.

Max is being a real pain ,he keeps having a chew on the chair legs and no matter what i say or do he just keeps going back to them .
He had a long walk today , it's first time we have gone that far and i really thought it would tire him out but no he was still full of beans and went straight to have a chew on the chair legs as soon as we got in .

I hope the blood tests show some thing Gill so you can get some treatment of some sort it must be awful to feel so tired all the time, although you have had a busy time these last weeks what with all the sorting of the boxes and now all the work in the garden.

Glad to hear the men have been and done the panels Mel, and not having the £300 to pay was a bonus .

The sky looks really strange , the clouds look so low .

How is OH's neck today Ann ? i had to smile st your comment about holding it under the water LOL

It has been really aining all day here and those poor boys who did the panels got soaked. They brought long ladders with them so did'nt need the scaffolding as its only a bungalow.

Pasta for us tonight and I may put frankfurters in it. Shopping day tomorrow and they forcast rain for then too so I shan't mind too much as I shall be in the car and the shop.

Jane Report 1 Aug 2016 19:28

Mandy ,have you not got that spray to stop pets chewing and clawing at furniture? I have one that I spray on the sides of the settees as I have caught Thomas having a good go a few times :-S.The good thing is I can't actually see any 'pulls' in the material.
I think this spray has Citronella in it.
I have noticed though the wallpaper on the stairs has a few scratches on :-S.

Janice and Larry are collecting little Jilly tomorrow :-D.Long drive (nearly 3 hours each way). She said they will try and have plenty of wee wee stops on the way home lol.Jilly is 12weeks old now.I can't wait to get some more pics of her.

I just had a chat with Fitz on the phone and he has made the sad(but right) decision to have Podge put to sleep on Thursday. He is coming up for lunch with me on Wednesday when Chris goes to Cambridge for the day.I did ask Fitz if he wanted me to go with him on Thursday but he says no ,he will be ok .He will go home afterwards and get rid of all Podges things and then go to bed :-(

Mel I hate Frankfurters. Rain getting a bit heavier now here.I can see some spots on my windowsill so better close the windows .

Sorry to hear you are so tired Gill, but Jane is right about feeling tired with the menopause. Also you have been doing an awul lot lately when you think about it. I was about your age when my thyroid became underactive and that causes extreme tiredness too. The blood tests should help sort it out.

That's good they have upgraded your panels Mel. It's good that you will get an early notification if they stop working properly as well.

It sounds the best thing for Podge Jane, but I expect Fitz will be sad to see him go.

Oh Max sounds like he has the devil in him today Mandy! lol Maybe mustard on the chair legs would put him off, but might be rather messy. :-S You'll have to slide some drainpipe over them to keep the little tinker away.

We had 2 cats fighting on our roof this afternoon. I thought it was the Magpies hopping about at first but then there was all this yowling and a few heavy thuds! When we went outside they were nowhere to be seen. Then we'd both just got settled again when the bungalow doors started to rattle!! Outside we went again, but it was 2 huge military helicopters with rotor blades at each end flying overhead.

I have my mammogram appointment at lunchtime tomorrow. With 2 friends developing breast cancer last year I feel a bit twitchy about it this time. OH has offered to take me as it is at a hospital that is hard to park at. He will drop me off then come back when I ring him to pick me up rather than ride round and round waiting for someone to leave a space.

I hope Frank is ok and doing well.

Naughty Max chewing the chair legs. Ann's idea is good putting drain pipe on the legs.

Anyone watching the last episode of the secret agent yet?

Morning All

I have been awake since 3.30 and downstairs since just before 5.Fell quite exhausted now lol .It is raining and miserable and I have no plans to go out so I have had a shower and put PJs on .That is what I am going to wear for the day :-D :-D

Good job my Mum and Dad can't see me !!

Ann,I hope thes cats don't make your roof a regular scrapping point !!..Was one of them the new cat on the block that you saw the other week?
Great idea about putting drain pipes on the leg chairs for Mandy's Max. Little Monkey!

Chris has gone to Waitrose and I'm hoping he might bring home a nice Danish Pastry to have with our coffee.I quite fancy one :-)

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Aug 2016 11:19

Morning Jane and all,

Miserable here too with plenty of the wet stuff so I am glad I am going shopping.
Can't do anything in the garden when its like this anyway just feed all the girls and the two little chaps and of course my little tiny dickies. I just love the baby Blue Tits that come on the feeder outside the kitchen window.

Did get up till late and when I went round to feed the big girls I had caught something in the rabbit trap but it was'nt a rabbit. It was poor Phil the Pheasent minus his tail!! When I let him out he did'nt RUSH off like I thought he would he just shot out and then walked sedately down the garden towards the field out the back.

I just typed towards round the wrong way and it did look funny and could'nt think for the min what I had done wrong! Look twoards.... it says the same really.

Gillx Report 2 Aug 2016 14:57

Afternoon all

It's dry here but we did get a bit of a shower earlier. I thought I might be feeling tired because I wasn't doing much lately, silly I know, but sometimes doing nothing can make me tired, so I went outside and put up another piece of screening, it seemed to work but my back starting hurting so I've come in, plus we had a heavy shower of rain so I couldn't carry on anyway. I'm going to ask OH to put the screws at the top of the wood later so I can just hook the screening onto it when I'm ready. We've got someone coming round on Friday to re-lay our patio, the one that collects a lot of rain water, so I don't want the screening all over the place when he arrives. I've found it's easier to fold the screening in half then attach it to the framework rather than trying to put two pieces up over each other, it seems quicker to :-) even if there'lll be more piece to attach doing it that way. I've turned the bamboo around so it goes across rather than up and down and it looks really good, it also gives a smooth finish at the top instead of jagged edges that the birds can pull out for their nest.

Yes, I'm hoping it's not Diabetes either Jane. I'm not having the blood test until Monday as that was the first available appointment, then of course it'll probably take another 10 days or so for the results. The doctor seems to think I might need some HRT so I will see her about that when I go for my blood test results. I've decided not to do to much work in the garden and just take my time, the job will still get done, just take a little longer and it saves me getting to tired as well. So long as it's finished before the winter gets here. Not sure if we're having the garage taken down this year as we still have a few more jobs to do and we don't want it done in the winter. At the moment I'd just be glad to see all the screening finished and the greenhouse moved away from my living room window. OH said he would do the smaller patio for that as the quote was far to high off the garden fella. The only reason we've got the fella to do the larger patio is because the flag stones are 3ft by 2ft and to heavy for me to help OH do. The smaller patio flags will only be 2ft by 2ft so much lighter and easier to handle. We have asked the fella to order the extra sand so at least we'll have that for the second patio so OH can sort it out when he feels like it and he's not in work.

Going to catch up with the rest of the posts now, be back later <3

Annx Report 2 Aug 2016 17:12

Afternoon All,

Oh it's that horrid close together drizzle here today. :-S OH took me to the hospital and dropped me off for my mammogram. It took longer than usual as one of the machines had broken down and they were having to share the remaining one. It was freezing in the waiting room and I don't think they had altered the aircon from the boiling hot weather. I had a natter with two other ladies and one was telling me she couldn't find the sim in her phone that she needed to change, so I helped her and did my good deed for the day. :-) It was cold in the changing room too so I popped my cardi back on till they fetched me. I thought it would be no good standing shivering when they need you to keep still! The machine they used seemed different this time and I didn't have to stand on tiptoe for a change. You forget how uncomfortable those clamps are though and the nurse warned me it would hurt getting the second lot of pictures! :-S

It's a good idea to take things a bit easier for now Gill. I don't think you realise the pace you go at sometimes. It will still all get done and just as quickly because if you overdo it it will have to be left for a while anyway. I think we are all looking forward to seeing it when it's all finished. :-)

Jane, both cats had scarpered by the time we went outside so we aren't sure which ones it was. We suspect Hello Kitty was one as his territory seemed to include our garden. Did you see how the cats at No 10 are having right ding dongs to establish territories!! :-0 I don't blame you for having a PJ day. We occasionally do the same. OH has sometimes slipped trakkie bottoms on and a sweatshirt over his PJs to nip up to the shop in the village!! I think MIL would have been shocked if she'd known!! I hope you got your danish pastry. :-)

Mel I gave up on that prog after last week's episode as I was tired when I watched it and couldn't really follow it. I'll be watching Child Genius and the Job interview prog tonight.

Jane Report 2 Aug 2016 17:30

Oh Mel. Poor Phil !!!! is he alright without his tail? Will he be able to fly properly?

I know how you can't take things easy but it might be best just to try and ease up a little. You have been working your socks off for so long now.
That will be a good job done once the patio has been relaid. At least you have someone else to get that done for you :-DAlso it will be nice not to have it flooded any more when you have a lot of rain.
We are lucky here for getting bloods done.If there are no available appointments at the surgery then we can go to the Haematology Dept at the hospital or to the Council Offices where they provide the service .

I wonder how long Frank will be kept in hospital?I imagine he will be climbing the walls soon lol.As long as they don't send him home before he is ready. Can't wait to hear from him :-)

Phew! I think it has suddenly become a bit humid again.Mind you I have been making a Chicken Pie.But I did stick my nose outside just now and it feels very close.
I feel a bit like a zombie after being awake and up for so long today.I hope I don't get another night like that.

Janice and Larry have arrived home with Jilly :-D.She said she might try facetime tonight.I must work out what to do lol She said Jilly was very good in the car and slept most of the time.

it's still raining here (on and off) mainly on :-S but just that annoying heavy drizzle.Thomas has been a grump and not wanting ot go out at all.He is sitting by the patio doors with his eyes peeled for Rabbits and Mice.It was like Watership Down this morning when I looked out at 5am.A whole family of Rabbits.Well it could have been a family.5 of the little blighters.Plus a Green Woodpecker busy pecking in the lawn.I spotted a Squirrel down the bottom of the garden too.All our Hazlenuts have been had :-| :-| :-|.We never get a look in :-S

Still in my PJs :-D.I must sayI have been been very comfortable.I could get used to this :-D

Welcome home Frank.......it will be nice to be in your own bed tonight. I hope the pain soon eases a little for you. The exercises you must do are bound to aggravate the knee too. Get plenty of rest now and do as you are told!! lol. <3 <3 <3

Evening all,

We've had a drizzly day here , we have seen a little sun at times but not for long , it seems so muggy now.

Oh nice to see you home Frank hope your not in to much pain , you will sleep better in your own bed tonight ,hospital wards can be noisy places and if you carn't get your proper sleep it makes you so tired .
They don't keep you in hospital long now do they .

Ann that sounds a good idea putting drain pipes over the legs but the trouble is it is cane conservatory furniture and the legs are not easy to cover.
He hasn't been so bad today and has been chewing a chew i bought him.

Jane i bought some of that spray but i used a whole bottle of the stuff in less than a week !! it doesn't seem to last that long before you need to spray again .

We're off to Wells tomorrow with my sister and BIL ,just to have a nice F&C lunch ,we won't be able to stay out that long as Max will need letting out and will want his meal.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Aug 2016 18:40

Welcome home Frank.XXXXX We've all missed you. Hope you have a nice lot of painkillers.

Done the donkey day and when I came out I thought I would pop in the loo before the thirteen mile jopurney home. No luck they were ALL out of order. I asked a young chap how long Tempory OUt of Order was and he told me to go to the the lady at the desk. She said she would show me upstairs to the staff loos then a little boy needed it too so the young man showed us all where to go. It was like a mazxe in there and three lots of stairs to go up. Not impressed as the little boy shot up them and there was I lagging behind. I'm not used to stairs.... Anyway the young chap was waiting to show me downstairs afterwards so I had a comfy ride home.

All packed away and fed the girls and got myself a nice piece of smoked haddock to stink the kitchen out again this week. What with that and oh's curry I need all the windows open tomorrow.
