Jane Report 2 Aug 2016 18:42

Well hello there Frank :-D :-D...I bet you are glad to be back in your own surroundings now.You just take good care of yourself tonight(although I know Ros will have to be Nurse :-)).Just rest up and keep taking your painkillers.Tomorrow might be a little easier.

Ann I did see Larry the cat having fisticuffs with the new cat.It looked quite fierce :-(.I hate cat fights the noise is dreadful for one thing but their claws can do so much damage.Lets hope it won't be a visit to the Vets for either of them.

I cancelled my Mammogram last week and it is now later this month. At least you have yours out of the way now.Just had a lok on the calendar and mine is the 24th.Also my Bowel Cancer test kit will arrive in the next few days.So another JOB done (pardon the pun).It is so good that we are lucky enough to have these free tests done on the NHS.
Love your new pic Ann.That is how I know you :-D

I must get this Filo pastry on top of the Chicken dish and get it in the oven.I did a seperate one for James so he could eat first and he said it was scrummy. It is the same chicken pie recipe I did last week from the book that Hannah bought.

Fancy all the loos out of order Mel thats not very good ,glad you got to go or it could have been very uncomfortable on the way home for you and you might have had to find a big hedge !! :-0

Jane can you let have the chicken pie recipe please , filo pastry is much better for me ,short crust or puff gives me indigestion.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Aug 2016 18:50

I liked the way Ann explained the rain being close together drizzle. I know just what you mean.

Jane does the chicen pie just have the filo pastry on the top?

Mandy have I got the recept right for the Lemon Drizzle cake? 3 Eggs??? I gave Di the first one I wrote out yesterday and wondered if I had it wrong?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Aug 2016 18:51

Mandy I'm the same with shortcrust.....

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 2 Aug 2016 19:13

Mel , 3 eggs for 6oz marg,sugar and flour , or 4 eggs if you do 8oz marg,sugar and flour .
I think i do the 8oz ......i haven't made one for a while i forget !!

Short crust pastry and white bread , both no no's for me .

Jane

Jane Report 2 Aug 2016 19:15

Recipe sent to Mandy and Mel :-D

That was bad with the loos all being out of order Mel.Good job you managed the stairs. Not good though for anyone disabled and desperate :-S
Some places don't even let you use Staff loos.Specsaver has a notice here saying quite clearly that there is no customer toilet and not allowed to use staff toilet because of health and safety !!!!!.Maybe they are several floors up?
I think any shop or business who have public visiting should have an available toilet.

MillymollyAmanda Report 2 Aug 2016 19:31

Thanks for the recipe Jane i can read it ,it does sound tasty ,do you think i might need to half the recipe for just the two of us ? does it make a big pie ?

What is the cook book called Jane ?

Jane

Jane Report 2 Aug 2016 20:43

Mandy I would do a bit more than half with the chicken so for 2 people I would do 3 chicken breasts, maybe a few more mushrooms .It just depends what other veg you have to go with it.
The Book is
Lean in 15 by Joe Wicks. Exercises too are in the book LOL Have seen him on TV and he drives me nuts .He is a Body Coach :-S Far too hyperactive for me !!!!! :-S
Just cook what you think is the right amount of things Mandy. That's what I do :-D
I do like the Filo Pastry as it is so light .

Just watching Child Genius....Chris has gone off in disgust as he thinks it is a dreadful thing to do by putting your children on show for something like this.He reckons some of these children will end up with mental health problems later in life.Too much pressure on them at such a young age..I have to agree.

Good Evening All

Good to see you are back home Frank, I hope you aren't in too much discomfort and you have a good nights sleep in your own bed its good that you live in a bungalow with no stairs to tackle.

I like your new avatar Ann. Cats can be very noisy when they fall out, Toby was having a set to with an unwelcome visitor in our garden, it is a pedigree cat but not sure what breed, it has the most brilliant blue eyes and the same colours as a Siamese but is very fluffy and obviously has been brushed regularly, also quite large.

I hope you have a better nights sleep tonight Jane, having a PJ day sounds like a good idea.

Just watching Alan Davies on Channel 5 with The Dog Rescuers most of the dogs have a happy ending otherwise I couldn't watch it.We are watching The Living and the Dead after that. We did watch The Secret Agent on Sunday and didn't expect the mostly traumatic ending.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Aug 2016 21:27

Was'nt it just Anne. I got a bit fed up with the first episode and nearly did'nt watch anymore. It was abit slow.

Blasted girls round the back would'nt go in tonight and I had to wait in the rain for them.

Annx

Annx Report 2 Aug 2016 23:09

I must say I would agree with Chris about some of those parents Jane, but one parent didn't even know their child had entered himself. I think it all depends on the nature of the child and the parents not making a big deal of it. Some of them on the programme are absolutely awful and cause so much stress with their expectations.

Ah so cane and basketwork (the log basket) are young Max's thing then Mandy! I expect they are a bit easier to chew than tree wood! I suppose he is probably at the stage of his new teeth coming through too so hopefully he will soon be losing interest.

The 'unwelcome visitor' might be a Birman if it has white tips to it's paws Anne, although it might be too big and probably another breed with the siamese markings. I love the blue eyes of the Siamese and their daintiness. OH thinks they are too noisy though. I watch Alan Davies with the rescue dogs too, also Paul O Grady with the Battersea dogs. It's good to see the happy endings.

Oh Mel, how awful all the loos were out of order! I think I would have struggled with all those stairs. I bet it was such a relief they let you use the staff one. A lot of public toilets have been closed around here because of being vandalised. Some things in our lives go backwards don't they........like the machines on street corners where you could buy sweets or chocolate bars....all gone now! I'm beginning to think those she-wees might be a good investment, but I'm not sure my car would suit an all around curtain!! lol. :-)

I hope Frank is more comfortable now and gets a decent night's sleep.

Morning all,

Notre today but its a bit on the windy side with grey white and blue skiesand the grey clouds are moving very quickly.

Went to bed earlier last night but could I sleep???? Don't know what time I dropped off in the end.

Morning all

Hope you had a comfortable night Frank.

Well it's a change of plan today ,it's carnival week at Wells so it will be packed with holiday makers so we have decided to go to Peter Beales roses ,i have a voucher from christmas to use so we'll have somd thing to eat in their little cafe and then walk round the rose garden , the roses will all be flowering now so I'll be able to see them and then pick a couple of plants.

Nice and sunny here now after a cloudy start ,should be mostly dry today i think.

Jane Report 3 Aug 2016 11:49

Morning All

It is really sneezy weather today.I think it is probably because it is quite breezy snd the pollen is flying around.
I can't work out if it is going to stay fine or not.I will be wanting to takes plates and things outside soon for when Fitz arrives. There is a massive parasol so even if there might be a shower we should be ok.

That sounds a good idea Mandy to go to the Rose place.I just love Roses.I would hate going somewhere and having to fight my way through the crowds :-S

How are you today Frank? I hope you have managed to have a reasonable night and without too much pain.Maybe we will hear from you later today :-D <3

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 3 Aug 2016 12:54

The wind blew the clouds away and the sun came out then it blew the clouds back and it rain but only a short sharp shower and now the suns out again and the washing machine has stopped. So do I put it out or not?????? decisions decisions...

Yes how are you today Frank? We are all waiting to hear from you. Hope there is less pain today although it is going to take a while I suppose. Keep up with the painkillers.x

Frank

Frank Report 3 Aug 2016 15:50

Last chance. Not having a good time. Saturday the wound came open and flooded the bed. Sunday the canular came out of my hand and flooded the bed. I then had a fit which to a Doctor and three nurses to control. Slept 12 hours Sunday night, they had to wake me for my medication.

Came home 4.30. felt rotten, was in bed by 7.30. Had poor old Ros up getting water and tablets, and helping me with the wee bottle. throughout the night. She hs hd to go to hospital for an MRI. so I am on my own.

Haven't read your post, but will try to do so, when I feel up to it. SORE BUM sitting around all day. Will try to walk when Ros gets home.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 3 Aug 2016 18:02

Have they told you to walk if you can?
